Tutoring lessons with the redhead (G. Weasley)

════ ⋆ ♥ ⋆ ════

Lol this is a long one..
*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+*-+

If a word existed that would describe my current situation, I wouldn't have been able to find it.
Because the only word that was on my mind now was 'Ughhhhhhh...'

It was an average Thursday for most fifth years, except me. Professor McGonagall had asked me to come to her classroom after lunch. My proud ravenclawness thought it was obviously to congratulate me on how well I am doing in my classes. Well it was quite the opposite, it seemed.

"Ms. Erkins," the professor started,"Do you know why you were called here?"

"Uh.. no ma'am."

"You see Ms.Erkins, you have been a very bright student. One of the brightest, really."

I gave a small polite smile. However, this just made me more uneasy. There was most definitely a 'but' coming.

"But you see.. All your grades are perfect. All except one and I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about. "

Transfiguration. I groaned internally. I honestly didn't see the point in such a subject. I mean even the most basic transfiguration didn't make sense. Why would I ever want go turn an animal into a goblet? It'd be so much easier to just buy one, honestly.

I looked down at my shoes and tries to avert my eyes from meeting professor's. So much for being a bright witch.

"I think your OWLs average could potentially raise higher if your transfiguration improved. So I have decided to assign you a tutor."

Impossible. Like my non-existant transfiguration skills can ever impro- wait did she just say tutor?

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at Professor Mcgonagall. A stupid know-it-all tutor was the last thing I needed. Anyway, who was it gonna be?

"Sorry I'm late, Prof!"

I whipped my head around to look at a tall redhead. Oh it was one of the Weasley twins.

Did he require a tutor, too?

Mcgonagall raised her eyebrows in a way which was basically Mcgonagall for 'explain yourself!'

George (Or Fred I have no clue) nervously scratched his head. "Uh-you know Prof, just pranking dear old Snape."

After noticing my slight chuckle, the boy cheekily winked at me. I rolled my eyes in response.

Stupid boys. Incredible cute but stupid nevertheless.

"Ahem."

We both turned our heads together to the professor. However, ironically I looked much more embarrassed than him.

"So now that you both have met each other," Mcgonagall explained, "I expect your tutoring to start by today."

Then she started collecting her books and papers. I was still very much confused. Mcgonagall hadn't even told me who was going to tutor me. How could she expect us to start already?

Before I could answer, Professor left the classroom.

I tried to understand why she said that. Until it finally dawned on me. No wa-

"-And Mr.Weasley if Ms.Erkins does not get atleast an EE for every transfiguration quiz, I'm blaming you," said Mcgonagall popping in again through the doorway for a moment.

Oh no.

- -

"So we haven't been properly introduced, right Erkins?"

After our abruptly ended meeting Mcgonagall, both (mainly me -oh okay only me- Weasley just kept smirking) stayed there dazed at what had happened.

And what seemed like two seconds later, we were awkwardly walking together to the library to study.

"I guess not?" I replied lazily while thinking of a frog riding on a small quidditch broom.

Weasley cleared his throat dramatically and yet I made no effort to give any attention to him.

Suddenly, Weasley stuck out his hand for me to shake. I turned towards him with an odd look, only to see him giving me a grin.

"I'm George Weasley, half of the Hogwarts popular iconic duo. Me being the handsomer one, obviously."

I shook my head at his words. Was Mcgonagall really sure about this?

I smiled back tightly and shook his hand, "Seraphina. Seraphine Erkins."

George cocked his head to the right and looked me up and down for a moment which made my cheeks colour pink against my will (something he hopefully hadn't noticed).

"Seraphina.. " Weasley pronounced grandly gesturing in the air with his arms before turning towards me.

"Isn't that a bit too long for uh such a small person?"

He smirked.

I glared.

He ignored it, of course, and we continued walking. "Well, I can't keep calling you that all the time! So, how about hmm Seraph..Fin..Feen?" He continued humouring himself until finally, "Oh I know! FEENS!"

I internally cringe. How can a boy be so annoyingly cute and idiotic at the same time? I just really hope that doesn't stick.
- -

"Feens?"

I continued doodling on the margins of the half written six foot essay I was supposed to be working on.

"Feens!" George repeated once again. I sighed. Putting the quill down, I finally looked up at him with the most innocent smile, "Yes, Fred darling?"

George furrowed his eyebrows furiously. Calling him by his brothers name had had always that effect on him. I enjoyed it however. Pissed George was way too adorable.

It has been a few months since he had been tutoring me and I'd be lying if I said we hadn't grown close. Who had thought the smart and the goofy could ever mix? And yet here we were for the nth tutoring session at the library.

"Erkins, if you really wanted to see my brother, I can call him. Would you stop calling me by his name though?!" The pissed George exclaimed.

I shrugged nonchalantly, "Alright."

"Anyway, what I was saying was," Weasley continued as his ears returning back to their normal colour, "you really need to start studying for the Transfiguration test next week...and especially stop doodling eagles and lions riding brooms."

I feigned hurt as I put my hand on my chest, "Don't bring my eagles and lions into this, Weasley!"

He let out a low chuckle, "Only you can be so gorgeously idiotic, Erkins." I mock glared at him before joining his laugh with my own. We stopped for a second and simply looked at each other.

Was this some kind of a moment? Is it weird that I just wanted to kiss George right there and then? His pink, sweet lips..

His brown, slightly green speckled eyes, looking into mine. Just as I dared to decrease the space between us, his eyes clouded over.

"I-uh need to go." George abruptly got up.

Huh?

I tried to decipher his expression but it stayed blank and he avoided any eye contact.

I gave him a bemused look as he collected his supplies hurriedly and left the library.

What was that all about?

- -

Of course.

Of course that idiot was dating Hermione, wasn't he?! I mean not to be judgy or anything, I mean a two year difference? Isn't that a bit too much? Wait my parents have a three year difference– but still!!And what did he even see in her? Okay maybe she is the smartest witch or something but I just–

I sighed. I realize I'm doing that a lot, nowadays.

Today was a great day honestly. All the muggleborns who has been petrified were back again and I was truly happy for them. Yet one specific one seemed to be annoying me a lot.

As always, both George and I had been siting at the back table of the library. We hadn't talked about yesterday at all and I was thankful. He had just started teaching me about the importance of incantations when a brush of brown hair had caught his eye.

With a quick "I'll be right back," he sprinted towards Granger who seemed to be picking out a book from the curses aisle.

I rolled my eyes at his jumpiness. I glanced at the pair wondering what they were up to. George seemed to be grinning from ear to ear and as he reached Granger he wrapped her frame in a bone-crushing hug.

Suddenly a pang of jealousy hit my chest. I glared at the younger girl for a while until I composed myself. There was no need to assume things. I mean if George has a girlfriend, he would tell me right?

I continued doodling random things, it had become a lazy habit of mine. Yet right now all I could think of drawing were small broken hearts.

I groaned. This was stupid. Was I really overthinking about a guy so much? But then again he was George Weasley, only the most handsome and funny and stupidly talented and awesome quidditch guy.

But he wasn't interested in me. Of course.

I looked back at the pair. Granger had probably cracked a lame joke because George was doing his adorable rubbing the back of his neck thing. Suddenly something came over me and I started collecting all my stuff from the table.

I left the library.

I know I have no reason to be mad at Weasley but I mean one would think that he would tell his one of his closest friend if he was dating someone! He probably already told Fred and Lee but does he not trust me or something?

And what the heck was that moment we had? Was that even a moment? I thought he genuinely might have liked me but that's clearly not happening.

Rowena, I shouldn't even be thinking this. He isn't bound to tell me everything. It's not like we were ever dating. My mind was taking this way too far.

So, I decided not to see him for a while. I mean a day or two can't make much difference, right?

George POV

Wrong!

Had I done something wrong? Did I freak her out? I said something weird didn't I?

It had been a week and Feens still hadn't talked to me. Heck, she didn't even as much look at my face, anymore!

"So you see in transfiguration, the stressing on different syllabuses in words can often have an effect on the product. So saying the incantations right is important for doing the spe-"

Wait was that Mione? Had she recovered already?

"I'll be right back, Feens," I murmured as I shot up to go to see if it really was her.

As I sprinted over to the girl, I realized it was indeed Hermione. She was really alright! I hugged her as tight as I could, " 'Mione! How are you? Are you feeling alright?"

When I didn't get a reply, I realized that must have been because I was squeezing her too tight, and I let go, albeit a bit embarrassed. Hermione had come over once during the holidays at the Burrow. Once, she had actually even helped me with some of my potions homework. She was like another little Ginny to me. We were close and I could sense that she had a thing for little Ronny and they were absolutely adorable.

The petrifying incident had put a lot of us in shock and I couldn't bare the thought of losing anyone, especially someone who seemed to be heading towards the position of my sister-in-law.

She gave me a small smile, "Yes, George, I'm alright. Ron and Harry figured it out. With my help of course."

Oh only to be young, naive and proud again. The trio of them always seemed to be getting in some trouble. To be honest, sometimes their shenanigans went so far that Fred and I were very much proud of our little brother.

I shook my head amusingly at her words.

Suddenly, her facial expression changed into a teasing one as she glanced behind me. With a small smirk which I didn't know a girl like Granger could even make, she spoke, "But you know who won't be alright if he doesn't leave right now?"

I furrowed my eyebrows at her vague question.

"Erkins is practically shooting daggers at me." Hermione chuckled, "You better go check if  your girlfriend's alright, Weasley."

I looked back at Feens. Her head was lowered. She probably didn't care.

Of course she didn't .

Even if I wouldn't have minded if she did.

Her and I have a bit of a complicated relationship. We flirt, well mostly me, all the time and once she even kissed my cheek due to which I spent the entire day grinning like a fool. But I'm sure there's nothing between us. She was way out of my league and I knew I needed to stop crushing on her but that goddamn beautiful smile of hers..

Granger's words reminded me of what had happened yesterday. Godric, I was about to kiss her but chickened out. But it doesn't matter anyway, she probably doesn't even think twice about me in a day, let alone like me.

I scratched the back of my neck, "She isn't my girlfriend, you know.."

"Wells she definitely won't be anytime soon because she's running out of the library right now."

Huh?

I gave a quick hug to Hermione as goodbye and went outside to check where she had gone.

But she was nowhere in sight.

"You still busy thinking about Erkins, brother?"

I fixed my tie and took one last glance in the mirror as I fixed my hair, "Maybe."

Fred jumped on my bed and sat cross legged, like he always did when he wanted to give one of his long lectures. "You do realize she likes you, right?"

I sat down beside him and gave him an odd look. The Seraphina Erkins likes me? Sure and Merlin was secretely gay.

"So you're saying she was jealous?" I hadn't given it much thought in that perspective, honestly.

"Ofcourse mate!" Free shrugged his shoulders dramatically slow, "And people say you're the smart one."

Seraphina POV

I had entered the Gryffindor common room (by using the password that was very carelessly written on a piece of paper below the doormat in case anyone forgot ) a moment ago only to see no sign of Lee.

The Gryffindor common room looked as Gryffindor as it could be. A few third year boys were wresting each other to the ground while I noticed a few second years doing cartwheels in order to impress their crushes who were apparently a group of sixth years.

My presence didn't change much in the room except a few students looked up curiosly before going back to their work.

I continued to scan the room for Lee.

He had been assigned as my potions partner and we really needed to complete the potions project together. However, Lee being the kind of guy he is just kept postponing it for his pranks with the twins.

That's it. I couldn't see him anywhere. I sighed and turned around. Had I really left the last chapter of my precious book for a no-show partner? I shrugged and took a step towards the door just fantasizing what could be the ending, when-

"Feens!"

I rose my eyebrows at the unexpected call of the nickname I had grown to sorta like. I bit my lip as I slowly turned to make eye contact with an overexcited George Weasley who was descending down the stairs. I hoped the nickname hadn't caught everyone's attention. The last thing I wanted was to make a big scene. Thankfully, everyone seemed unfazed; seems like yelling in the Gryffindor common room was nothing new.

I gave Weasley a hesistant and awkward smile before I shot for the door.

Nope. I was not ready for this conversation.

Cursing my small legs, I tried to speedwalk back to my common room. Keyword being 'tried.' Weasleys  long legs easily caught up to me.

George grabbed my wrist to pull me towards a corner in the corridor. Rowena, I wish I hadn't even left the common room today but here I was. Knowing Lee, he probably had set this up, hadn't he?

I let out a small irritated sigh and looked into those chocolate orbs which I hadn't seen in so long.

"What do you want, Fred?"

George narrowed his eyes at me and let go of my wrist. "This really isn't the time for games, Seraphina."

I had always wanted him to say my full name correctly. However, him saying it now felt odd and wrong.

He ran a hand through his hair that always looked so soft and practically screamed 'I'm a Weasley.' That's when I actually looked properly at his face which was a mix of concern and frustration.

Aww, had staying away from Granger for two minutes crushing his soul or something?

"Are you going to tell me what's wrong with you?"

I raised my brows at his ridiculous question. "Oh? I that so, George? Ofcourse there's something wrong with me." I folded my hands against my chest. "Ofcourse. Because I was the one who had little Granger as a secret girlfriend and didn't even bother to tell my best friend about it."

George furrowed his eyebrows and he opened his mouth to say something. But I wasn't going to allow him to. All my anger had burst out and I didn't care anymore.

"You know what Weasley?" I jabbed his chest earning a soft 'ow' from his lips. "You can go snog Granger all you want because I. Don't. Care."

I turned around about to leave with a dramatic exit like the dramatic Ravenclaw I was. At least I was planning to until I heard George's infectious laughter-

What in the name of Merlin?

I turned around again to look at the boy who seemed to be unable to control his chuckling.

I folded my arms again and gave him an odd look.

When George finally stopped, he shook his head,"You thought I was into Granger?!"

"Aren't you dating her, Weasley?" I tapped my foot in annoyance.

What was the boy even saying?

He broke into a amused adorable grin. "Of course not! She's like so little and I'm pretty sure lil Ronny's got a thing for her!"

"Wha- Oh."

His face turned into a smirk which only a Weasley could master, "Oh my god! Was Seraphina Rhiner Erkins actually jealous for me?"

He raised his hand to tilt my chin towards him as he asked the stupid question. I tried to hide the blush that crept up from my neck and I thanked Rowena for it being dark in this corner of the corridor.

Suddenly realizing what he had implied, I slapped his hand away, "I was not!"

He chuckled again and I mentally slapped myself for the idiot I had been.

I turned on my heel in order to escape and return back to the common room I desperately wanted to disappear to. Just as I had taken a few steps, I heard some foootsteps running after me.

I truly hoped that those didn't belong to who I thought they belonged to. But of course Gryffindor and their bloody stubbornness.

I looked up at George with a slightly irritated look. He shrugged nonchalantly and flashed me a charming smile, "What? At least let me walk you back to your common room!"

I rolled my eyes even though I have to admit I liked having him around again. He wrapped his left arm around my waist in an attempt to bring me closer to him.

We walked in a comfortable silence. The familiar colors of blue and bronze finally started to come in sight as we reached the entrance of my common room.

George put his both hands in the pockets of his robes as he gave me a cheeky smile, "Can I tell you two things, Feens?"

I could only imagine what kind of fireworks were bursting in his brain as I saw that sparkling glint in his eyes but I agreed anyway, "Sure, Weasley."

He took two steps towards me, making us stand much closer than earlier. I was able to clearly see the green specks of his gorgeous eyes now. I tried to control the wild butterflies in my stomach as much as I could.

"I have been waiting to do this for a year now. And I don't think I can wait anymore."

"To do wha-" His lips pressed against mine for a sweet kiss. Merlin, I was kissing George Weasley! I hesitated at first due to pure shock but then I kissed him back as I got on my tippy-toes. He stroked my cheek with his thumb and I wrapped my hands around his neck.

We finally pulled apart due to something stupid like lack of oxygen. I immediately removed my hands from his neck after I realized our close proximity. I bit my lip trying to hide a goofy smile but George made no attempts to hid his.

I didn't want to ruin this moment but I couldn't help the curiousness in me. I was a Ravenclaw, ofcourse. When I remembered, I creased my forehead, "What's the second thing?"

With his right hand still resting on my cheek, he smirked and leaned down a bit to whisper in my right ear, "You're incredibly hot when you're jealous, Erkins."

"George!"

BONUS CUZ I LOVE Y'ALL

An hour earlier:

Narrator POV:

Lee Jordan and Fred Weasley stay hidden behind the corner table, hidden from everyone's sight, in order to spy on their dear friend George Weasley. They had spent days trying to make a plan so the two oblivious idiots could finally sort things out.

"Fred, you sure this is gonna work? Or else I'm pretty sure she's going to hex me!" The uncomfortably sitting Lee asked one of his best mates who also seemed to be cramped in a similar position.

"Of course, Lee. Now shush."

Jordan shrugged and both the boys continued to watch for any sign of Seraphina approaching the commonroom. Although, the former did also use some of this time to look at the group of older girls who sat on the windowsill giggling about.

"There she is!" Whisper-shouted Fred in order to snap Lee out of his gaze.

"Feens!" Came the shout of Fred's twin.

"Ah, perfect timing too!" Lee added with a quiet chuckle.

They both watched the pair leave the commonroom and they satisfactorily got up to stretch their cramped position which now, they deeply regretted getting into.

"Lee, I bet you five Galleons that they end up making out and start dating by tomorrow."

Just as Lee was about to respond to Fred's soon to be accurate words, a third voice piped up from behind them.

"I wouldn't recommend accepting that bet, Jordan. It's a surely losing one. Heck, George has a freaking nickname for her!"

"Hermione?!" The pair of boys said in unison as they turned around to face the bushy-haired girl who replied their surprise with an innocent look.

"What? I basically got them together. You really didn't expect me to be here with you both?"
