"He never told you about your mother, did he?"

     Lis frowned when she was asked the question. "He talked with me about her whenever I had questions, and I do remember her somewhat, so there was no need for him to talk about her often."

     "Then it's just as I thought. You don't know the truth."

     Lis gritted her teeth before clenching her fists. "And what would you know about my mother?"

      "I know plenty, and I know that she was nothing but a cold blooded killer."

     Lis narrowed her eyes. "And why should I believe you?"

     "Have I ever given you reason to not trust me?"

     "Not up until now. But now you've revealed who you truly are! You tried to kill RJ, and you tried to kill me! So yes, I would say you've given me reason to not trust you!" The purple lizard averted her gaze from the other female standing in front of her.

     The other woman stepped forward. "I have proof. Oh, do I have proof. And if you don't believe me, you can ask my director, and you can ask his coworkers. The scientists that work for him."

     Lis turned her head to look at the other female again. She was silent for a long moment. "Then show me this proof." She immediately felt her heart sink when she spoke. What if she was wrong? What if this other woman was the one who was right?

     The female gestured to the building next to her. "You'll have to follow me."

     Lis eyed her skeptically. "Why should I follow you? How do I know—"

     "Do you want to know the truth or not?"

     Lis hesitated, then she sighed before nodding. "Yes. I do want to know the truth."

     "Then follow me. You'll die knowing the truth; it's the least I can do for you."

     Lis stared in disbelief at the computer screen before her. It was true... it was all true! "No..."

     "You've seen it with your own eyes. You now know the truth." The woman said, pulling out her pistol.

     "This... this isn't possible... no! It's fake!"

     "You and I both know that's not true."

     Lis teared up, and her legs trembled. She clenched a fit and bit her lower lip to keep it from trembling as well. How... how could her mother do such a thing? Why hadn't her father ever told her about this? Who all knew about this? There were still so many unanswered questions. She needed answers!

     "And now that you know the truth," the woman said, pausing to cock the gun before aiming at Lis. "Die."

     The purple lizard fell to the floor, and by the time anyone found her and got an ambulance called, the shooter was nowhere to be found.
