Seeing that the coast is clear, I step out and make my way back to my family until I feel a cold hand grab my wrist...

Yelping from the grasp I hear someone chuckling. "Izabella, it's me Gio! Why did you yell?"

I opened my eyes to see my smirking cousin. "Gio, what the hell? You scared me!" I raise my voice and snatch my arm away from him.

"Haha, sorry Cuz! I didn't mean too! I called your name but you seemed out of it! Is everything alright?"

"I am now...sorry, I, I was just thinking about things!" I tell him.

He frowned and put his arm around my shoulders "I know you miss him Iza, I could only imagine how you are feeling right now."

"Thanks Gio, but I will be ok...I have to be! I know that eventually I will move on and meet someone else! Not that I'm looking for someone right now! But in time..." I tell him as we head back to our family so we can finally eat.

3 weeks later...

After graduation, I moved to Washington D.C. to start my new job as a Spanish Translator at the Embassy. It's a dream job having to work and meet with Global leaders and Diplomats. I have to do a lot of traveling, but I don't mind it. It will be a wonderful experience!

I was on my way to the office when I decided to stop by this coffee shop on the way for a quick breakfast. I was making good timing so I had time to eat there.

Once inside I got in line, thank goodness it wasn't that long. I was pulling out my wallet and I heard my phone ringing so I grab it quickly.

"Hello!" I say answering it.

"Hey Iza, how are you cuz?" it was Gio my cousin who is also my best friend. He's two years older than me and we've always been close. He's like a big brother.

"Hey Gio! I'm okay, just waiting in line to get something quick to eat before I head to work. How are you?" I ask.

"Okay, just wanted to see how you've been! That's all!" he said but I knew there was another reason why he was calling.

"Gio, you could have texted or called me later just to "See" how I was doing! What's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing's wrong! Why do you think that?"

I sighed and stayed quiet for a few seconds before answering him. "Cause I know you better than you know yourself, that's WHY! Now, tell me!"

I heard him sigh on the other line "Alright, alright...you see through me! I was wondering if I can stay with you for a bit. I landed a job interview over there at the end of the week and I was hoping to get there before it! So, I was kind of hoping my beautiful, smart and loving cousin would let me stay with her for a while...?" he trailed off.

I started laughing "Gio, of course you could stay with me! I would be pissed if you didn't! When will you be heading this way?" I ask him, I was getting excited.

"The interview is on Thursday, so I was going to head out tomorrow morning...it takes about half a day to drive and get there!" he says.

"Sounds like a plan! Alright, listen I have to go, but I will call you later and we'll talk. I can't wait to see you Gio...I really miss you!" I say excitedly, maybe a bit too loud for people around me to hear.

"Miss you too Iza...I love you ma!" he says before hanging up.

"I love you too Gio! Talk to you later!" I tell him and then end the call stepping to the counter to place my order since I was next.

I put my phone in my bag and say hello to the guy behind the counter who smiles at me.

"Good morning, what can I get for you beautiful!" he says smiling at me. Oh, ok!

"Good morning, may I have a toasted croissant with egg, cheese and bacon? A medium Hot chocolate with whipped cream and a bottle of water please?!"

"Anything else?" he asks.

Looking at the pastry case I notice a chocolate chip muffin that looks delicious! "May I also have a chocolate chip muffin to go?" I finish telling him my order and open my wallet to pay with my card.

"Your total is $10.50!" he says and I go to pull out my debit card and it's not in my wallet. Oh Crap! Not right now!

I start to freak out searching inside my bag and I can't find it...no, no, no!

"I'm so sorry but I can't find my card!" I give him an apologetic smile. I go through my wallet to see if I have cash but of course...I hadn't gone to the ATM! CRAP!

Right when I was going to cancel my order, I see an arm go around me and a deep voice say "I got this...can I get the same sandwich she's getting and a large black coffee?" the kind stranger tells the guy behind the counter then turns to look at me with a smile. "...for here!"

"Total is $17.80"

The stranger nodded and handed him a $20 bill and says "Keep the change!" making the kid nod and thank him.

I couldn't believe how nice that was of him to do...especially here in Washington D.C. People here are usually not that friendly.

He stepped away from the counter so the next person can order giving me a smile and what a nice sexy smile it is!

"Thank you so much...you didn't have too!"

"Of course I had too! I didn't want you going hungry...you know? Breakfast is the most essential meal of the day!" he chuckled.

"So I've heard...!" I say blushing. Why am I blushing? "Anyways, thank you so much. Is there anyway that I can repay you?" I ask hoping that I could pay him back once I go to the ATM.

"You could go with me to the ATM with me and I can pay you back? Or you could give me your address and I can sent it to you...or-!" I rambled until he cut me off.

Placing his hand on my shoulder he smiled "Or, you can just give me your number and I can call you to ask you out on a date?!"

Did he just say date? That took me by surprise! I haven't gone out on a date since Rafael had first asked me and after his death...I didn't want too about dating anyone else!

He must of noticed my face expression "Let me guess? You have a boyfriend? Is that who I heard you say I love you too when you were on the phone?" was he listening to my conversation?

"You heard?" I scrunch my eyebrows at him.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop! Your sweet voice caught my attention and I couldn't help but wonder who was making you happy on the phone...sorry, I just sounded like a creep right now! I don't blame you if you won't give me your number now!" he frowned and scratched the back of his neck like an embarrassed little kid. He actually looks adorable doing it.

If I wasn't blushing before, I was now! He's really good looking!

"It's alright. I won't hold it against you!" I giggled and he just smiled again. He has an amazing smile.

"Good..."

Before he could say anything else he was called to get our food order. Once he retrieved it he came back to me and motioned for me to follow him which I did.

We found an empty table and sat down. He handed me my order and I thanked him.

"So! May I at least have the name of the beautiful woman I'm sharing my breakfast with?" He asked sitting back on his chair.

"Oh, I'm sorry...my name is Izabella Romero!" I tell him sticking my hand out to shake his which he took, but instead of shaking it, he leaned closer and kissed it.

"Nice meeting you Izabella! My name is Theo James!" he introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you!"

"The pleasure is all mine Izabella!" winking at me he grabbed his sandwich and started eating.

We ate and talked for a while getting to know each other. I found out that he is a Security consultant for the government owning his own business. He travels a lot but lives here in D.C.

We were so caught up in our conversation that I lost track of time.

"Oh my goodness...I have to get going if not I will be late for work!" I exclaimed checking the time. I had fifteen minutes to get to the office!

"I would hate for you to be late because of me! Though I wouldn't mind for you to stay a little longer...!" he chuckled.

"If I didn't know any better I would think you were interested in me...first you buy me breakfast, which I totally owe you for, and now you want to keep talking to me...!?" I quipped.

"You are correct...I am interested in you and like I said before, give me your number so I can call you and ask you out...that's how you could make it up to me!" he winked, God he's so cute!

"Okay, I will give you my card and if you really want me to "Owe" you, give me a call...!" I tell him and I don't know how I was being flirtatious with him.

"Let me give you mine just in case you miss talking to me and wish to call me!" he says pulling out his wallet and handing me his business card which I do the same.

I get up from my seat and gather my things while he does the same.

"Thank you again Theo, I really appreciate your kindness...!"

"No problem beautiful! I'm actually glad you lost your card...it gave me an excuse to have breakfast with you!"

"Well, I guess it was perfect timing then, which reminds me I have to call the Bank and report my card missing just in case...not that I have much in my account!" I giggle and he laughs.

"Alright beautiful, I don't want you to be mad at me if you are late...I want you like me!"

"Funny Theo, anyways again, thank you...it was really nice meeting you!" I tell him and when I was going to shake his hand he pulls me closer and hugs me. I was surprised...damn he smelled good!

"The pleasure was all mine...I will call you later beautiful!" he winks letting me go from the hug.

"Bye Theo...!" I tell him and give him a small wave as I head towards the door. Once I'm outside I rush to get to work on time glad that it was only a block away from the cafe. Even though I thought my morning was going to have a bad start...along came Theo to save the day!

Unknown P.O.V.

I was watching her when she went inside the cafe and stood in line to order. She is a beauty I must admit. The first time I had seen her was when I was tailing Rafael who was my mark. I felt bad that I had to kill him in front of her. I usually don't stick around after doing my job but I did...she was screaming as she was trying to revive him getting covered by his blood. I didn't know who he was but he was my target and I got paid to kill him, so I did!

That was six months ago and about a week ago I saw her walking down the street. I recognized her, how could I forget her tanned skin, long black hair and those curves...she was the whole package. I saw her a few more times taking notice that she liked coming to this particular cafe. I even followed her to the building that she worked in.

I don't know why I did and don't know why I'm following her around, but something is pulling me towards her.

While in line I had noticed that she had dropped something. She was on her phone and no one was paying attention so when she went up to the counter I picked it up. She had dropped her ATM card...Izabella Romano it read. I could give it to her but I decided to keep it for now. I was going to find out everything about her...and then eventually I will make my presence known!
