We ended up spending the night. I was going to sleep next to Josh because the bed was big enough. Todd and Brenda both were going to sleep in two chairs on the opposite wall. We stayed up really late and at eight, Brenda called her dad to tell him we were spending the night. Which he was totally fine with.
"So where are your parents? I haven't seen them all day." I asked looking up at Josh.
"My dad works all day and night. He was here this morning and will be here around two. Mom is home with my sister. She was here this morning too."
"So what about Todd's parents?"Brenda mumbled.
"They work alot and are coming tomorrow around noon for lunch."Todd mutters.
"I feel like we are going to be up until like one but those two will be out at like eleven or midnight." I whisper to Josh.
"Probably." He whispers back.
"Hey are talking about us?" Tod asks sleepily.
Josh and I exchange looks.
"Well?" Brenda looks at us accusingly.
"All good things, all good things." I answer smiling.
"Uh huh."Brenda says sarcastically.
"I'm going to find some coffee. Anyone want me to bring back some?"
"Does Donald Trump want to be president?"Brenda asks smiling.
"I'll have one."Josh says also smiling.
"What about you?" I ask turning to Todd.
"Are you serious? Eeww! Gross! Coffee is disgusting." He replies wrinkling his nose.
"Umm wow you and I can't be friends." Brenda says looking hurt.
"I'm totally kidding. Coffee sounds amazing right now."
"So four coffees." And then I leave.
When I return, I have four large coffees on a drink tray in one hand and a bag of sugar in the other. There are spoons balancing on the drink tray. I hand Brenda and Todd each coffee and sit the bag of sugar and the spoons on a cart thing.
"How much sugar do you want Josh?" I ask with my back turned adding sugar to my own coffee.
"Load it up." He answers.
We sit chatting and drinking our coffee.
"So what about your parents Kelly." Todd asks stirring his coffee.
"Well my dad lives here in Bangor but he doesn't quite know about Josh and I yet. And my mom, well funny story. Josh gave me a ring for my birthday and the next morning it was gone. I asked my mom about it and she said she sold it on eBay because she though we needed the money. So now I'm staying with Brenda." I reply matter of factly.
"Damn, that sucks."Todd mutters.
"Not really, I like staying at Brenda's. She's pretty great."
"Cool."
After a few more hours we've finished our coffees and dosed off with the t.v. left on.
