I see you standing among them all
Standing so strong, proud and tall
Guarding the citizens of our country with such sincerity.
The fields vast and silent......
Some names forgotten, and some never known
My eyes can't believe all the sadness before me
I have lost count and my heart seeks numbness.
Each had fought a war and killed in jungle breathless,
But now he lay where he had fallen
He knew his life was over..
As he lost all sight and sound
He knew a peaceful sleep
For him the fight was over
He'd gave his all... and more
They rest in honoured glory
Each and everyone of you
You gave all you had to give...
Let's not think the soldier anything less
You are thanked for their services
By those who never served...
