Chapter Eight
Finding What's Lost

Weavers POV:

Weaver was woken up by someone shaking her. It was the dragonet named Sizzle. She was kind of used to seeing their faces but not how they looked. Sizzle was the first one up and she found it strange. She still wasn't used to waking up at six in the morning for college. Her lower eyes opened first and Sizzle seemed a bit uncomfortable. Her lower eye vision was somehow a bit blurry. Her mom said that she needed glasses but her upper eyes were fine. She opened her upper eyes and Sizzle smiled at her. "Hello Weaver!. Breakfast is almost ready!. We have to get there before everyone else or we'll be late!". Sizzle told Weaver. Weaver got out of the stone bed that was a bit too small for her. She saw that the others were still sleeping. She walked over to the others and shook them a bit to wake up. Moondancer seemed off today. Like she was listening and seeing things she wasn't supposed to. Was she alright?. Should she ask her what was wrong?. No, She decided not to. Princess Flea was waiting outside of the sleeping chambers for them. She seemed excited as she looked at Weaver. The others slowly came out of the beds and they seemed happy. Like nothing was bothering them. She didn't understand how a whole tribe could fit underground like this and they didn't know. Maybe other dragons had seen the hole but never went in. How is this even possible?. First my sister tells about a tribe in the sky and now there's a tribe underground too?. What's next?. Dragons that come out of trees?. Weaver thought as she flew to the platform labeled Cafeteria. Weaver was hungry. She hadn't thought about the last time she ate. She suddenly remembered what Tarantula had told her. Would there there really be guards at the hole?. Did they know where it was?. Was she serious about what she said?. Princess Flea landed at the entrance with Dewdrop and he looked a lot different than normal. His gills were smaller and flattened against his neck. His scales seemed a lot paler than normal and he could apparently breathe ice from what she heard from Nova and Glare. Weaver could admit that the dragonets were smart, they were just.... quieter than most dragonets. Except for Sizzle. Sizzle wasn't the quiet type. She always seemed excited to meet new dragons and talk about her family. She didn't really seem to like how dark it was either. Her horn always showed it. It got dimmer each time she was in the dark. That kind of got her wondering if she absorbed stuff from the sun like plants. Maybe that's why her horn was dimmer. She wasn't in the light so her horn wasn't getting brighter. Sizzle didn't seem to mind it though. She waited for Princess Flea and the others to get there while the doors were open. They had eventually gotten there and waited in line. She didn't know what they had down here but she hoped it was better than her college food. The line actually moved pretty quickly. They gave out free trays with sections for the food. The first thing she noticed was how quiet the line was. There were many tables for the Cellwings to sit and chat. They were a bit louder once they all sat down. The first thing that one of the chiefs put on her tray was a soup. The next thing was a carton of milk. She moved down the line and grabbed a metal spoon. She walked over to one of the tables. The tables were made of metal. The place was strangely warm. I wonder what they use to make the soup. It better be good. I wonder why Moondancer is so quiet?. Maybe she saw something in her dreams?. Is she looking at me?. Weaver thought as she scooped some soup into her mouth. It tasted weird. Like some meat that was a deformed cow or pig. The noticed that Moondancer was looking at her and then quickly looked away from her. That's strange?. Can she hear my thoughts?. Did she know I was thinking about her?. Has she been listening to the others thoughts as well as mine?. I still feel bad about leading them here. I only wanted to show them the hole. Not put them in danger!. What will Acid say now?. She probably might ground me from going out for a while. Or going to that really nice mall that opened up near Mantis street. What was the malls name again. Right!. It was Vespinae Mall!. She had heard about it from her friends a few days before it almost opened. She wondered if Tarantula knew about it. She probably did. She lived near a few dragons that had dragonets that went to her college. They were how she heard about it. Her friends said they would take her there for her birthday. That was in Three days. She saw Princess Flea take the group over to her. Moondancer seemed cautious about her soup. Novas galaxy changed to Yellow and Green. Weaver didn't know what that meant. Was it a code for something?. Maybe it was something she could do. She found the soup really weird. It tasted like it had Iron in it along with salt. She guessed they were trying to mask the taste of the Iron with salt. Moondancer looked at Princess Flea. "Do you know where the hole is?". She asked Princess Flea. Weaver was confused. Did she mean the hole to get out?. Or was it a different one?. Was there more than one?. How many where there?. Were there multiple ways to get out?. Princess Flea looked confused and so were they rest of them. Was there something Princess Flea wasn't telling them?. Maybe she was hiding things from them. Weaver didn't like it when someone hid secrets from her. Princess Flea sighed softly. Like she had something to get off of her chest. "I do know about the hole. It's something strange though. It makes makes me feel weird and I'm not sure about the effect it would have on you guys". Princess Flea told them. Weaver was about to take another bite of her soup when she saw something come out of it. An eyeball. NOPE!. I'm definitely not eating it now. No wonder it tasted so weird. How do these guys eat other dragons and act like it's normal?!. Maybe they were caught in the Silk Wars and didn't know where to go?. Princess Flea looked at the entrance of the cafeteria. No one was at the entrance anymore. "We should leave to the see the hole now if we want to get there". Princess Flea got up with her tray and walked towards the door and placed their tray on a rack, the group followed her. Weaver got up after them and she heard smaller talonsteps behind her. Weaver got out of the doors and looked behind her. A dragonet was behind her. They were a Juniper Green with a Moss underbelly. Their wing membranes were a Tea leaf green and they had Magenta eyes. Weaver was confused as she looked at them. "Excuse me?. Who are you?. Are you lost?". Weaver asked the dragonet. She wasn't sure if they had gotten confused or not. The dragonet looked up at her with confusion then fear. The dragonet looked like she was going to cry. She took the dragonet with her two front talons and led her onto a small ledge. "Are you lost?. Where are your parents?". Weaver asked the dragonet. She sniffed a bit as she looked up at Weaver. She pointed back into the Cafeteria. "M-My momma is in there. She told me to stay with her but.. I got lost!". The dragonet told her. It almost reminded Weaver of herself when she was little. Tarantula was almost always with her to the point she considered her like a mother figure. Their own mom was better but Tarantula did a great job of being one of Pepper. "It's okay. We'll find your mom. What's you name?". She asked the dragonet softly. She wondered if the other noticed. The dragonet looked young, about a year or two old. She didn't know the difference. "My name is Cicada. What's yours?". Cicada asked her. Weaver was a bit hesitant but she answered. "My name is Weaver. You can stay with me until we find your mom, okay?". Weaver told Cicada. Weaver continued walking with the group. Princess Flea looked at them and then at Cicada. She picked up Dewdrop and started flying somewhere. Weaver put Cicada on her back. She wrapped her tail carefully so that she wouldn't sting her. They flew past all of the hexagonal cells and into another part of the large cave. It looked dangerous from what she saw. There were stalactites on the ceiling and many cliffs. Everything looked dangerous when they landed. She didn't know why they didn't close this off. Sizzle tried to light up her horn. Emphasis on tried. The only thing that came out were small sparks. Sizzle seemed to get nervous. She was looking around now. WeVer knew that she had Flamesilk. But only the kind that glowed, she couldn't make couldn't make anything else besides that and regular silk. She slowly spun some Flamesilk and handed it to Sizzle. Sizzle seemed surprised by this. "Thank you Weaver!". Sizzle whispered to Weaver. She turned to the others. "Would anyone else like some?". She held out her front wrists which were softly glowing. She actually didn't know she was a Flamesilk until she was Four or Five. She remembered it, kind of. She was sitting in her room with nothing to do. So she started to silk. When she was Five she wasn't really paying attention in her Silk studies class. She somehow made Flamesilk and she was scared. She heard that it could burn things so she didn't let it touch her bed. When she touched it she realized it wasn't the kind that burned. It was the kind that glowed. Weaver didn't mind not being a full Flamesilk. She also didn't know where she got her Rootforce from. It couldn't have been from her mom. Acid didn't have plants around the house. She realized she didn't really know who her dad was. She had asked Tarantula about him once or twice. Tarantula told her that he was a really nice dragon and that he was the one who had built their house. Maybe she got her Rootforce from him. Crevice nodded to her. "No thanks". Dewdrop seemed interested. "That looks awesome!. Can I have some please?". He asked nicely. She spun a few strands and gave it to him. He wrapped it around his horns. Nova held out her talons and she gave some to her. Glare seemed cautious of it. Nova give her a strand and she took it with interest. Moondancer looked at the Flamesilk and took it. She wrapped it around her horns and smiled. It might last them a bit longer since they're in the dark, but it will do. I hope they all like it. I know Sizzle will like it. She seems to not like the dark. I don't blame her. Things are scarier in the dark. Especially when you go to get a snack in the middle of the night and your sisters eyes glow back at you. That's one of the reasons I wait until it's ten to get a snack from the fridge. Weaver felt Cicada move so that she laying on her back. She wasn't that heavy. Cicada had gotten off of her back. She looked at Weaver and shuttered. "I don't like this place. It makes me feel weird. Can we find my mommy now?". Cicada asked Weaver. There was a skittering sound to her top left. She looked up and saw a scavenger. It was wearing strange things on it and it ran away. It seemed scared of her. Weaver and the group kept walking. Cicada had wondered off somewhere. That wasn't good. She approached a cliff that Cicada was nearby, she was looking into it. The cliff had the same energy as the hole they used to get in here but way stronger. She had a feeling this was why they had come here. Weaver ran after Cicada. "Not yet. We have to find a way to help them first before we-". Weaver looked towards the group and a loud scream came from in front of her. It was Cicada, she was trapped in a net. "Weaver!. I'm stuck and I can't get out!". Cicada yelled. Weaver tried to find the source of the net. It was coming from above Cicada. Weaver felt the strange feeling again, but stronger. When she looked up there were more scavengers. About Five of them were sitting on a ledge staring at Cicada. When they noticed her staring at them, They let go of the ropes and ran away again. When Cicada tried to get out of the ropes. She stumbled forwards, where the cliff needed. Cicada had fallen off of the cliff and into the pit.
