My dear Beth,

Jack and I will leave in two days time and begin our dangerous trek across europe. I'm hoping to regain contact with the US army, so that they may bring me home. As for Jack, I have no idea where he is headed.

For now, all he says is that he wants to be far away from here. But first thing's first- escaping.
