Freedom
Amarth watched as Rilath brought Legolas and Haldir forward.
"Did you think that I wouldn't expect you to come back for him?"
Rilath asked.
Amarth said nothing as Rilath continued.
"I am more powerful, and cunning then you. You are no match for me."
Amarth smiled.
"Congratulations O great one. You manged to capture two unarmed elves that were already in your camp. Well done. Your mother would be proud."
One of the guards punched him in the face.
To their surprise he laughed softly after the blow was dealt.
He knew how to deal with pain. It didn't affect him.
He also knew how to hide his emotions. Rilath had no idea what he was thinking and that was what Amarth wanted.
Rilath turned his attention to Legolas and Haldir.
"I cannot harm you Legolas. You are too valuable to be killed."
He turned to Haldir.
"You on the other hand, are nothing. I should kill you now."
Rilath drew his sword and prepared to drive it threw the elf.
Amarth's mind raced to distract Rilath.
But before he could Legolas had broken free from his captor's grasp.
He threw himself at Rilath, striking him in the jaw.
Rilath stumbled backwards, holding his bleeding jaw while two Easterlings tried to subdue the now enraged elf.
"Can you idiots not even control one elf?"
Rilath shouted in anger.
"No."
Rilath spun around and glared at Amarth.
The dark elf smiled.
"You can't."
Amarth faced an Easterling and punched him in the face.
The man stumbled backwards clutching his face.
Amarth kicked him in the stomach and he fell over.
After dealing a blow to his head with his foot, he retrieved the Easterling's sword.
Amarth turned to face an Easterling who had run up behind him.
Amarth quickly killed him.
They had caught him without a weapon. Now that he had one, the tables had turned.
More Easterlings ran at him, their weapons drawn.
Amarth sighed.
"Do you really want to do this? Can we not solve this like civilized people?"
The Easterlings ignored him.
"Oh I forgot."
Amarth held the sword in front of him.
"Neither of us are civilized."
He met them head on, they had expected the fight to be quick and easy.
But they had been wrong.
Amarth was unstoppable. One by one the Easterlings fell under his sword.
Legolas had decided that he had enough playing prisoner for one day.
He wrestled his arms free from the two Easterlings that held them.
He elbowed them in the stomach and they doubled over, wrapping their arms around themselves.
Legolas kicked them in the faces and then retrieved their weapons.
He threw one to Haldir who was struggling with an Easterling.
Haldir grabbed the sword and stabbed the Easterling in the arm.
He wasn't going to kill anyone.
The same couldn't be said for Legolas and Amarth.
They killed any Easterling who faced them, and they were enjoying it.
Amarth finsihed off another Easterling and was about to drive his sword into another, when the man fell to ground grasping his head.
Amarth groaned.
"You couldn't just stay put. Could you?"
Aragorn retrieved the Easterling's weapon.
"I don't take orders from elves."
Aragorn quickly entered the fight, but before he did, Amarth had seen the sly smile cover the man's face.
Amarth chuckled.
Perhaps we will get along.
Amarth swung his sword up and blocked a sword that had been about to take off his head.
He looked at the startled Easterling.
"You shouldn't have done that."

Aragorn fought his way over to Legolas.
He was tired, and his body was sore, but he couldn't just sit by while his friend was in trouble.
"I was beginning to think that you'd never arrive."
Legolas told him as they finally met up.
"Did you really think I wouldn't come?"
Aragorn gasped between breaths.
Legolas became concerned.
"You should not have come Aragorn. You are hurt."
Aragorn laughed.
"It's not as if I came alone."
As soon as he said it Gimli had just taken down an Easterling with a sword, which was too big for him but worked fine for the situation.
The five of them fought until only a few Easterlings remained.
Rilath couldn't believe what was happening.
How could his men, be losing to three elves, a man, and a dwarf?
It was impossible!
Suddenly he was hit by an airborn knife.
It lodged itself into his leg.
He fell to one leg and ripped the knife out.
Only to look up and see Legolas in front of him.
The elf grabbed the knife and kicked Rilath hard in the ribs.
He fell onto his back and gasped in pain.
Legolas grabbed the front of Rilath's shirt and pulled him up.
He put the knife to his neck.
"Call off your men."
Legolas ordered.
Rilath laughed.
"Or what? You'll kill me? Go ahead. I do not fear death. But then, who would call off my men?"
Legolas glared at him.
He removed the knife from under Rilath's neck, and stabbed it into his shoulder.
Rilath screamed in pain as Legolas pushed the knife deeper into his shoulder.
Twisting it cruelly as he did so.
"Legolas!"
Aragorn shouted in horror.
The sound of Rilath's screams was unbearable.
The fighting had stopped while Legolas ignored Aragorn's pleas for him to stop.
"You may not fear death."
Legolas said slowly.
Rilath's face was twisted in agony.
"But everyone fears pain."
Legolas pushed the knife in deeper, the blade was sinking in lower and lower.
Blood poured from the wound, staining Legolas already bloodied hand.
"Legolas stop!"
Aragorn shouted.
No man should suffer the way Rilath was.
What frightened Aragorn the most was the way Legolas seemed perfectly fine with torturing him.
And that he knew exactly what he was doing.
"I will ask you one more time Rilath."
Legolas continued to twist the knife.
"Let us go."
Rilath gasped.
"You- You're free!"
Legolas twisted the knife more.
"I want our weapons back, fresh supplies, and horses."
"You will get them!"
Rilath screamed.
Legolas stopped twisting the knife.
He smiled, satisfied.
"Was that so hard Rilath?"
The man had his eyes closed.
The pain in his shoulder was unbearable.
Legolas yanked the knife out.
Rilath screamed.
Legolas threw the bloodied knife on the ground.
He ignored the blood that stained his hands.
He faced the Easterlings.
"You heard your leader."
Legolas glared at them.
"Do as he says, or you will all join him in suffering."

Alatar smiled to himself.
So Rilath failed in containing you. It does not matter. The delay was welcome.
Alatar raised himself off of his throne.
He walked over to a black cage that held what looked like swirling smoke.
But was really a group of bat-like creatures that he had created.
Now it is time to carry out the second part of my plan.
He opened the cage and realeased the creatures.
They swarmed around the cave before flying out of a small tunnel that led outside.
They flew up into the air and vanished into the night, heading west to carry out ther masters will.
