Yeehaw! Another idea I just couldn't hold back anymore! I hope you enjoy it, my lovely readers! I thought you might like to see my ideas about this plot!
Chapter One: OOOO...Percy's In Trouble...
Point of view: Perseus Jackson
"Perseus Jackson." Artemis lands right front of me. I hit the brakes and come to a halt. I start to back away from her. I look at my surroundings and see that I am surrounded by the hunters.
"Please, Lady Artemis. I cannot fight you or your hunters. Leave me be, please. I can die on my own. I can hunt down the last of the monsters until my strength fades. Let me die out here. No one cares what happens to me." I beg her.
She tilts her head at me like a bird. "You wouldn't raise a hand to my hunters and I?" She asks intrigued.
"Nor any female. Just let me be. I can't survive with people anymore. I can't be attached to anyone again. It hurts too much to have loyal ties that don't stay forever. I'm dead already. You're hunting prey that is already taken. Don't you see I'm gone?" I keep my distance.
I flinch and grip my left arm. "Styx. Not again." I say through gritted teeth.
Artemis reaches out. "Don't touch me. Don't help me. The faster I die the better for everyone. At least in the Underworld they leave you alone. I haven't done anything. I never plan to. The one goal I have left in life is to systematically kill off every monster I can find." I snap at her.
She draws her hand back. I remove my hand from the black patch that grows on my left arm and breathe in deeply to center myself. "Forgive my rude outburst, my lady. It will not happen again."
She smiles a little at me, then frowns. "My father still wants you brought in. He thinks that left alone, you would betray Olympus. The gods know you have not done wrong. But Zeus is worried that you'll join someone else's side to bring down Olympus for the betrayal their children put you through. Athena is upset that her daughter is at the heart of it. She explained the effects it would have on you because of your fatal flaw." She looks at the black patch growing on my arm.
I cover it up again and look away to the side at the ground. "Yes, well," I smile sadly. "There's not much I can do about it. I'm dying slowly because of it." I breathe deeply. "I've decided to use the remainder of my life to kill off those that would oppose you and your children. I'm tracking down a group now. I won't betray Olympus, don't worry. That tie is still there." I look past her and start to walk.
I end up on one knee from the black patch on my right knee. "Not good." I mutter. I draw Riptide and use it to stand, then cap it.
"Percy, we can heal you." Thalia says from a tree above me.
"Come again, demigod lieutenant of Lady Artemis?" I reply as I stop under the branch she's on and keep staring ahead.
"Percy, I never did anything to you." Thalia pleads with me.
"Lady Grace, I seem to recall you screaming at me about my being a traitor sea spawn. However, I am past this and have forgiven you. Our previous friendship is another matter. It is terminated. Goodbye, Lady Grace. Enjoy immortality and the freedom from all burdens." I say monotonously and walk off.
~Two Hours Later~
I strike down the last of the ten cyclops left over from the army at the last battle. Scrap metal is in my gut. I rip cloth from nearby sheets over the old cars and rip out the scrap metal, then bind my wounds.
"I know you're there. You've been there since I walked away. Come out." I whisper and Artemis and her hunters come into view from behind the pile of scrap metal. "You know," I sigh and put my hand over by blackened left arm, it's unable to move now. I look up at the sky through the hole in the roof. "I think you should go home. Those monsters were pretty keen on killing you once they caught your scent. You should learn to mask your presences better." I say.
"How dare you! You're not even masking yours in the slightest!" I hear an angry female.
I chuckle. "You're right. In fact, I'm projecting it."
"W-what?" The same voice answers stunned.
"My final mission in life is to kill all the monsters I can get my hands on. I have no need to mask my presence. You need to conceal yours though, much more important than I." I look at Riptide. "Anaklusmos. Huh. Well old friend, I suppose I have one other mission, don't I? I will find you a worthy owner someday." I let my sword arm drop. "Or maybe, maybe I can give it back. If only." I sigh tiredly. "I miss you Huntress and I'm sorry I can't do much else than go down fighting with your gift. Forgive me if it falls into the hands of evil." I cap it and return it to my pocket. I turn to face the hunters, who are all staring at me.
I smile a little. "No, I'm not insane. Just talking to an old friend in the stars. It's time I continue forward. Until we meet again." I push past them and lean against the door for support when my leg starts to give out.
A slender hand is on my shoulder. "Please come with me to Olympus." Artemis whispers.
"Please remove your hand my lady. I have no wish to touch you and you shouldn't want to touch me. But I will gently move your hand if you keep it there." I look over my shoulder at her.
"You need help." Artemis presses and her grip tightens.
I smile sadly and shake my head. "What help I need cannot be given. Let go Lady Artemis. Let go." I lift my right hand to where her hand is on my left shoulder and take hold of it gingerly, like I'm touching glass. I slowly take her hand off my shoulder and she looks at me surprised. "I'm soft hearted. My past makes me so. You should meet my mother." I rest her hand on her hunting knife.
"Percy wait!" Thalia yells and barrels into me.
The air whooshes out of my lungs and I'm tackled into the ground. I cough and roll onto my side where my right arm can hold me up. My shirt was already tattered and now it's gone. I look down to where the hunters stare in horror at my black chest.
"Damn." I cough out blood. I spit out the remainder and pick myself up off the ground.
"Uh, I...sorry." Thalia mutters.
"It is...quite alright, Lady Grace." I have to breathe deeply.
"When did you get so...ripped?" Thalia asks.
I look at the ground and laugh without humor and then throw my head back with it. "Oh my, are you blind Lady Grace?" I chuckle. "Forgive me, but, I have been 'ripped' for a long while now." I shake my head in amusement. "I don't brag about it because there is no need. It's there for the use of others, not my personal gain. You should pay attention to the underlying emotions I carry. Ever wonder why I don't talk about myself?" I laugh with humor this time.
"Seriously, everybody thinks I'm an open book, but no one, not even Annabeth Chase, knows about my past."
"You're chest is burned." Phoebe says in shock.
"Forget that, most of his body is." Another Hunter tells her.
"Yes, I've lost the use of my left arm. Can't feel a single muscle or tendon in it. My body is weightless because I can't feel most of it. I soon won't be able to walk without support. I plan on finding some monsters before or during then. One last fight. One last time." I look at the ground.
"Percy, you have to come with me. I can give you a better life. Aren't you still friends with some people?" Artemis says.
"Dead or alive?" I ask.
"What?" Artemis looks shocked. "Zeus wants you alive of course."
"Not what I meant." I shake my head. "What type of friends? Dead or alive?"
"Alive." Artemis replies.
"Hmm, well...hang on, this requires a lot of thought. Let's see...Will Solace...Jake Mason...mmm...well, oh, Connor and Travis...yeah, that's about it. And they are either dead now or near death because they stuck by me before I got run out of camp. I imagine they aren't in the best of shape. Chiron placed a warding spell on the border so I couldn't return or I would get them the Hades outta there. I still have those ties, but losing the majority of them and thinking that they are dead has reduced me to the agony of dying a slow death by fatal flaw. Not the best way to die, but that's the fear of people with my flaw. Good thing not many people get it. Pfft. We'd be screwed then. Least I'm not prideful, gods that would be annoying. Anywho, right, those four. Probably dead. I wouldn't know, they are forbidden to leave because people don't want information getting out and they are monitored at all times. So, if that'll be all ya need, I'm just gonna go. Yeah. Bye." I debate and start inching away.
Artemis catches my arm. "Oh no you don't. We are solving this problem right now. They're lucky I don't skin them alive." Artemis says and she flashes away with everybody, including me.
I'm left outside of the camp on top of Half-Blood Hill. The hunters are clear down the hill on the inside of the camp. Artemis remedies this and they all walk up to me. I tap my hand against the border and it holds. "See? I told you. I'm not allowed in, Lady Artemis. Sorry to rain on your parade." I smile sadly at her.
She grabs my arm and tries to yank me through, only resulting with her landing on her behind.
"Chiron get your horse ass up this damned hill right now before I skin your hide!" Artemis screeches.
I whistle low. "Strong words. I prefer to refrain from using them, though I do slip now and again." She glares at me and I chuckle.
