Calamity Strikes part 1
The evening sun distant and small through the circular window. With the passengers either conversing or staying quiet, the trio had to keep whatever they were saying from any enhanced hearing.
"What exactly are we going to do once we're in Hozu?" Izuku asked before following up with a sip of his soda. Sitting across from Stain and Toga. His lover was just as curious about that but she seemed more interested in city-gazing.
"Tell me, have I ever mentioned the League of Villains?"
Izuku nodded. "Yea, that same group that attacked the USJ? What about them?"
Stain kept his haired tied in dreadlocks, it did him justice to fight in as a normal person could get in a world of quirks, normalcy and oddity are just as key ways to blend in. "Rumor has it that they plan another attack. In a couple of days or so, the underground has been on high alert."
"Okay so? What's so bad about an attack on a city? It happens almost everywhere nowadays." Izuku took another sip.
"They aren't just some small time group now. These creatures, Nomu? I think that's what their called. Are capable of being threats to all people, hero or not. Understand that we will have a fight on our hands. Otherwise, people will die, helpless individuals." His mentor stressed the last two words. Toga at this point stop her gazing then turn to their mentor.
"Fake Heroes, we kill. Pedestrians and civilians? We need to save them. They have no part in our battle against the system. Needless deaths and monstrous killings would put the public in jeopardy."
"How bad are we talking about? Do you think we have a chance at stopping this attack at all before it happens?" Izuku got serious, the notion of people's lives at stake, innocent people, it concerned him.
"From what Toga showed me, her info said that, amongst their ranks, their is a warp-quirk user. This user helped them get inside the USJ in the first place. Allowed infiltration without needing access. Considering they are planning to perform in public, we would have to wait until chaos begins." His mentor commented.
"But do we have the ability to kill these Nomu?" Toga inquiries, asking the million dollar question.
The mentor looked between Izuku and Toga. His gaze left the both teens in suspense. "That I don't know."
Uncertainty. The worst kind of feeling. Izuku hated surprises, it was just that the suspense of speculation would leave him doubting his own capabilities sometimes. Even if his quirk managed to heal him from the worst case scenario. Death couldn't catch Izuku but something else can judging by the prolonging state his Master was giving him.
Toga caught onto this look, she was confused before getting somewhat nervous to what the next words would come out of Stain's mouth.
"What are you looking at me for?" Izuku questioned.
His sensei groaned before answering. "I will be frank, the idea of killing these things doesn't bother me. It's the idea that this could be a diversion of sorts. Remember, we don't know what the league is up to, and considering your stunt at the sports festival. They might take an interest in you."
Izuku gave a blank confused stare before clicking the gears in his mind. Realizing his mistake, he groan as well albeit more prominently. Toga was more confused.
"Wait. What's going on?" She asks.
"Think about what happen at the sports festival, literally, two classes that were meant to train the next generation of heroes lost to some Quirkless general educations students. Not only did said Quirkless student ruthless beat his own classmate but the son of Endeavor, Engenium's little brother, and a kid who scored the highest in the entrance exam. Last but definitely not least, punched All Might in the gut enough for the number one hero to feel the pain. All for the world to see. Get it now?" Stain explained.
"Ooh~" Toga understood.
"You done goofed." Izuku heard his girlfriend commented. He could only nod in annoyance.
The teen was surprised that his infamous stunt didn't attract attention. Luckily he was glad that his group took a bullet train rather a local one. By far the seats were really comfortable.
Leaning back and clearing his head, Izuku turn his head to the side. Sun was down at this point, the rays fading as the night sky swallowed Japan.
"We still got another hour, I'd suggest we just relax before getting off. Besides, we shouldn't speak anymore from this point on until we are off the train." Stain suggested as the passengers were starting to get on. Due to his connections, he got a few passes to take a first-class transit trip all around the Japan. From where they were sitting, it seems that only about five or seven passengers came on, sitting in the front.
Toga nodded before switching seats to sit next to Izuku. She pulled out her watch and set an alarm to wake them up a couple minutes(approximately 10) before their destination. Izuku agreed before relaxing into his seat with the blonde leaning on his shoulder.
Stain remain awake, he given his age and routine nightly patrol, the need for sleep wasn't so much for him but for the kids. He needed them to be at their best once they hit the black market in Hosu. They won't get the chance to sleep until the tonight was over.
Closing his eyes, his eyes mind wandered some before remembering his purpose. To be the Hero Killer, purging the fake and ridding the scum of hero society. After all its people like them that some villains exist in the first place. All because of a failed system of glorified justice and promising paychecks.
Hosu-9:30 pm
From the napping on the train to the stop at a hotel was about the last form of break that Izuku and Toga had.
Sharing the room together for their own privacy and Stain needing more space to do some planning. The teens had been instructed to switch to their gear. Izuku's usual outfit only this time will more short swords than two long-main ones. Another minus was the lack of boots, he had been using them so much during training prior to the mission that they were eventually worn out. Sowing them back would be a useless effort.
Looking over to his beloved, or something along those lines. Toga was putting her hair into a single bun. Normally she would just leave it as it was with those two crazy yarn balls you would assume were buns, but guess not tonight. Her outfit was different from her casual murder outfit. A dark red corset made of leather with a skimpy black jeans. Her toe-expose sandals reference some anime she had showed him awhile back. Funny it just so happens to be about ninjas. Toga must like the Konoichi style or parts of it.
She got up from the chair and put on a yellow sleeveless hoodie. Seems like she can't let go of the color yellow. Izuku smirked as Toga bend over reaching for the belt and her holsters for knives, getting a good sight of her rear.
"Say Izu?" Toga started up a conversation.
"Hm?"
"What's your dream?"
"Don't have one." Izuku answered still in trance with the glorious plum rear in front of him.
"Okay. What was your dream?"
"It's a boring one, plus it's generic and very common."
"Tell me." She moaned. Getting up and equipping what's left of her outfit. Toga's eyes straw towards Izuku, who at this point carried a uninterested gaze.
"To be a hero." Expecting laughter or amusement of some kind, Izuku didn't get any. Apparently those three words were enough to make Toga pause her thinking. While he couldn't see it in her blank expression, the tension was there. Not once had the teen ever opened up to this girl. It seemed like a waste to him. He never opened up to Stain and vice versa. There was no reason too. This group was only business and strictly that. So when Toga said the next few sentences, it immediately caught the boy off guard.
"You know what my dream is? To have a family of my own."
While Izuku was positive about Toga's background. It seem like a typical girl outcast by society scenario. Many in that regard wouldn't want to be connect on an emotional level with others. Maybe it was just him but considering he was in the same in that regard, he would have stick to be alone and only provide for himself.
"I never really got to thank you. For accepting me and bringing me in with Uncle Stainy. Thanks for everything." Toga walked forward and wrapped her arms around Izuku into a hug.
What would have been a heartfelt moment for the two only Toga ended up feeling emotionally connect with Izuku. The latter however didn't feel a thing when he return the hug. It wasn't out of assurance or peace one could receive in this moment. Just another part of his duty. Tending to his comrades. Really, the passion died for the boy when Toga couldn't kill him after the first night they met and slept together.
"Thanks for making my dream coming true." Toga whispered.
Coming? Izuku was confuse before suddenly his balls were in his throat, metaphorically of course. New found nervousness risen in him.
"It's okay. You don't have to be there for me. Just know that when ever you want to see it in the future. I will always welcome you."
Sweat dropped from Izuku's face. He only known the girl for at most a month. He was deeply angered at himself for the fact of being ignorant to using contraceptives. Fuck! Why?! Why couldn't he keep it in his pants?!
"T-Toga. Y-Your joking right?" Izuku stuttered for the first time in years. His denial was breaking down the facade, the mask of Heroic Assassin: Smear, revealing the real Izuku Midoriya.
Toga shift a bit before revealing her face. She had a kind and compassionate expression. The kind of expression that filled Izuku with guilt.
"Like I said, you don't have to support me or anything. I ain't like those girls who would chain down a man with the child. All I am telling you is that, if you ever, ever want to be part of our child's life, then your free to come in. I won't deny you to see it when the time has come or force you to stay. If you being happy is you out here following your ideals then so be it. That's fine, I can live with that. After all you have given me something that I never thought I ever wanted in my life." She cried into his best, smiling as if he did something equivalent of a saint.
Her attempts to ease Izuku were proven futile.
Izuku's breathing was labored. Stressed with this knowledge, he was granted a choice. One that he could decide with his own free-will. The only problem was, which one should he choose.
With the mask broken, Toga got first glimpsed at Who Izuku Midoriya really was and she smiled at it. A very analytical boy who overthought ever single factor, detail, and possibility. The muttering underneath his breath really showed the true character of this teen. He was a kid, just like her, who felt abandon by the society that was meant to give them hope and a place to call their own. Retaliating in the only way they know. It's hard, accepting responsibility, especially as heavy as bringing life to this world.
That's what made it hard for Izuku.
A huge part of him wanted nothing to do with the child. Capable enough to leave the girl in his embrace alone with his child.
Yet.
Something else lurked behind the fear. Hope. Hope for a future where he would do something right. He spent a good portion of his childhood hating that his mother left him. Thinking about that, it reminded him that he would be no better, in fact fucking worse, to be a scum and dump a child onto another girl's care who obviously loved him enough to give away her happiness for his freedom. That stung so much.
"I...I need to think." Izuku finally said something after the moment of intensity. Sitting down on the hotel bed, Toga sat beside him but made no effort to give him any affection, as that would be considered seduction in Izuku's eyes. Obviously it wouldn't calm down the maelstrom of thoughts going into Izuku's mind.
A single knock broke his attention.
"Hey. You kids down yet. We need to go now."
Stain voice was muffled through the wooden door. Toga gave a single gesture that hopefully would calm Izuku down. She put her hand on top of his. Wrapping it, clenching together lightly.
"Take all the time you need. I won't judge you no matter your choice."
Her soft whisper quelled down the tension a bit. Izuku looked blankly as Toga left his side and walked towards the door. He soon followed calming his nerves and wiping off the sweat with his grey scarf.
Can he do it? Will he be able too? Must he do so?
Those three consecutive questions rang around his head like church bells on a wedding day.
A/N: Sorry for the super, duper, late update and a short one at that. Hope it was an interesting chapter as I am starting to get back into the flow again.
Question for you guys, no matter how one sided the answer it will be? Should Izuku be part of Toga's life or should he not?
