Chapter 6: USJ

Izuku was sat next to Uraraka on the bus. They, and their class, were headed to an undisclosed location. Aizawa was asleep in the front.

Izuku sighed. How could Aizawa sleep while his noisy classmates kept chattering away. Their class representative was the worst of them. He wouldn't shut up about rules or proper etiquette.

Izuku stared out the window. He glared at the students training outside.

  "Midoriya." A croaky voice said.

Izuku turned his glare to the girl sitting the other side of Uraraka. It was Asui. His glare became slightly less severe. She was sensible, and didn't judge people based on appearances.

Asui continued, having gotten his attention.

"I usually speak what's on my mind. I think it's quite impressive you got into UA without a quirk. You must have trained hard to get here. Ribbit." She said.

Izuku stared for a moment, before looking out the window opposite him.

  "Thanks. I guess." He said.

Kirishima, having heard their conversation, turned to face Izuku.

"Yeah man, you're really dedicated! I had to work pretty hard to train my body, as well as my quirk, but you must have trained so much harder! That's pretty manly if you ask me!" He said cheerfully.

Izuku turned to him, nodding in acknowledgement of his statement.

Aizawa stood at the front, gaining everyone's attention.

"Alright, we're here. Get out and line up."

Iida started waving his arms about, but nobody really listened to him. Izuku stood in line outside the bus, noticing another hero before them.

*Thirteen..? From what I know of her she is a good hero. A dangerous quirk that is used to save people. Rescue heroes often gain popularity among those they have saved, but aren't covered by the media much. Like Aizawa, Thirteen has my respect..*

Izuku completely missed the apparently amazing speech Thirteen gave, but he understood they were here for rescue training.

Thirteen led the students into the domed building, gaining a couple of gasps and whoa's.

The facility was made up of several zones all dedicated to a disaster of some kind.

Thirteen was interrupted by Kirishima, pointing out a swirly purple mist in the centre of the courtyard below.

Izuku looked to where he was pointing, and smirked ever so slightly.

*Now that is ballsy.* He thought. *Attacking UA? It's obviously timed for when a class would be here. But why? Just to kill off some fledgling heroes? Just to kill whatever pros happen to be here? This class specifically..?*

  Izuku paused.

"Of course.. the break-in a few days ago.. it wasn't instigated by the media, they just rode the coat-tails of who really did break in.. the villains got a timetable, and targeted us specifically, here, today. All Might was originally planned to be here.. did they prevent him from getting here somehow? No, they couldn't have known where he would be at any given time. It's his own stupidity keeping him away for now.. which means they are.."

"-here to kill All Might." A voice said.

Izuku looked up, annoyed at the interruption. He realized nobody had noticed his out loud thinking.

He smiled. So he was right. Could they be some of his people?

Izuku stepped forwards. Straight Infront of the mist villain, who immediately tensed up.

"It's okay, I'm not gonna do anything, I'm quirkless." Izuku told him, his hands raised.

The mist villain relaxed, but stayed alert.

"I'd just like today, All Might isn't here. And I don't think he's going to be. The lesson was about to start, but he never arrived. You know how All Might is, he's gotta be the hero! And the students you see here are no threat either. We've been attending UA for literally 3 weeks. We have no training whatsoever. So I'm sure it'd be fine if you let us go. If the pros leave then you won't have any competition either. It's a win- win situation."

The villain seemed to contemplate the offer.

"I'm afraid I cannot do that. If you leave, you will only call for reinforcements, which I cannot allow. It is my job to scatter you, and torture you to death!" He said.

  "...why?" Izuku asked.

  "Huh?" The villain said.

"Why do you need to torture us to death? Are we All Might? Are we pro heroes of any standing? Are we even trained enough to fight a horde of villains? Will killing us bring All Might here? He dosent have a sixth sense, he'll just stay wherever he is, even if we all die. So what's the point? You may as well let us go, leave, and come back to try again sometime else." Izuku explained.

The villain paused again. He thought it through.

The villain charged forwards, engulfing Izuku in mist.

"Your points all make sense. However, I will be taking you to ensure your friends do not try anything." The villain told him.

  Izuku sighed, his eyes rolling.

Typical. He tries to get the pros, Uraraka and himself out, and he's the one that dosent get to leave. The idiotic others just got lucky he included them to avoid suspicion.

His eyes meet Uraraka's, who looks horrified. His whole body is engulfed in mist, up to his nose. He tries to smile at her, but he can only move his eyes.

  "No!" Thirteen yells.

  "MIDORIYA!!" The class sprint forwards.

Uraraka reaches her hand out towards the metal brace around the Villain's neck. Good thinking. You'll just sink into the mist, so touch the only solid part.

The rest of the students fall into the mist like a bunch of fools. Uraraka is dodged by the villain, and Thirteen is torn up by her own black hole.

Uraraka, the only one still able to take action, reaches out for Izuku in desperation.

Izuku tries to move his hand, reaching out of the mist to her.

Izuku pulled himself out down to his waist. His hand clasped Uraraka's.

  "I've got you!!" She yelled.

She pulled with all of her strength, pulling Izuku little by little from the misty portal.

Izuku felt something grab his leg. It began pulling him back in, much faster than Uraraka pulled him out. Whatever it was, it was strong.

Soon, Izuku was up to his neck in mist, his hands firmly grasped by Uraraka's own. She was slipping, and soon they would both be pulled in.

Izuku sighed, looking her in the eye.

  "Let go." He commanded.

She looked shocked for a moment, but her eyebrows furrowed in determination once more.

  "No!" She yelled.

Izuku scowled, trying to pull his hands away from her's.

"Let go! We don't both have to get sucked in!" He yelled at her.

Izuku could tell he couldn't sway her that way. He paused. It didn't matter. He would be disappearing soon anyway. It wasn't like the villains would just let him go once they escaped. Izuku hardened his heart, once again pretending to hate everything. With no special exception.

"I despise you all." He said. "You hero posers. You all want fame.. glory... Money." Uraraka flinched. "You're all the same. It's never to save people. Even now, you're trying to help someone, because you'll get brownie points! You make me sick Ochako Uraraka. I hate you. I always hated you. You thought you were different? I put up with you because you just wouldn't leave me alone!" Most of what Izuku said was true. About the heroes, and Uraraka. The only thing he missed was that Uraraka had proven to him that she was worthy of the hero name. And he was glad she bugged him to be her friend.

"I don't care!" She told him. "It's a hero's job to help people in need!"

Izuku sighed. He yanked her forwards, surprising her and loosening her grip. He pulled his hand away, and punched her in the gut.

Uraraka fell back, still reaching for Izuku's hand.

He smiled at her one last time.
