Chapter 14: A Wedding, a Proposal, and a Visit

Thank you guys sooo much for you support ^-^ and special thanks to DiamondClark for all her help :) and also Jo_Ninja_Turtle_wolf and Alex_TheLion_ my thanks to everyone :D

And if you think any paragraph is short, copy it down on a piece of paper... You'll understand... Why it took so long... To put... Up here... From my laptop... Which is explained at the end of this chapter.

Ashley's POV

Everyone assembled in the chapel of Base 1 for the wedding. Roses and Tamaranian flowers mixed together, forming beautiful boquets. Starfire was wearing her Tamaranian wedding gown and Silverfire wore a long light purple dress. [I skipped the wedding, because I didn't want to botch it. But there will be details, details, my darlings.] Robin carried Star out bridal style, but came back in to call Silverfire, or Syl, as he called her.

I laugh and yell "yay!" while clapping for his wonderful memory. The rest of the audience follows suit, then Beast Boy stands, pulling Raven up by her hand.

"I have an important question for Raven..." The room swiftly descends into total silence and some even hold their breath as his cheeks flush. "Do you like pizza? Raven glares until he decides to ask. "Will you marry me?"

"No." Raven monotones. Beast Boy looks crestfallen until Jinx starts giggling and Raven joins in. "Duh," she says, smacking the back of his head gently. Beast Boy reacts by grinning hugely and the occupants of the room cheer. This wedding wasn't as exciting as Jinx and Kid's, but it was pretty interesting, not to mention very sweet. Of course, the sour priest at Jinx's wedding had served as the main entertainment, but I had served as the priest here. Well, priestess. Now, my turn to be hostess (again).

Robin's POV

I sit between Star and Syl on the R-Cycle. I don't like having Syl on it, but I have her in front of me wearing her helmet so she she doesn't fall off or get hurt. Even so, I'm glad when we reach the jet. We're going to stay with Bruce for a little while so he can get to know Silverfire. Cat will (hopefully) love having a niece. I count the Waynes as my family, so I'm hoping Star and Syl will, also. All Star had besides Sylvia and I was her k'norfka on Tamaran, Galfore, and her absent siblings.

"Daddy! Look, I can do a handstand!" Sylvia performs a neat handstand, goes into a backbend, flips, and stands, her posture perfect. She then curtsies in Tamaranian fashion. Star claps enthusiastically, beaming at her beloved daughter.

"Good job, Syl," I enthuse [means to speak excidedly; praise]. She beams happily, a ray of sunshine like her mother. "Way to go, your- um... my adopted dad will be impressed."

"He will be your grandfather," Star explains exuberantly, obviously excited. I'm glad she likes Bruce. I had been worried that he'd been too gruff with her. But she, thankfully, didn't seem to mind. "I believe he will not help but to adore you." She lovingly smooths Syl's slightly rebellious hair.

"Of course he will, who doesn't love Syl?" I respond, poking Syl's stomach playfully. She giggles and squirms closer to Star.

"Daddyyyyy, don't tickle me," she laughs. "We must be polite in our host's home! Do not be the wild!"

"Syl, did Mommy tell you that?" I chuckle at her stern expression and tone.

"Yes, she did. And you must behave as well, or Mommy will feed you the Pudding of Sadness." I mock gasp in fake shock.

"What? She would give me the Pudding of Sadness?! But- but-"

"No 'buts,' you have to obey Mommy," she says prissily. Syl is probably imitating Star's prim and proper Princess-of-Tamaran side. I smile at her. She's being trained to be a princess, so her royal blood makes her seem irritable from time to time. Hopefully, it won't be as severe when she gets older. Of course, she's usually only playing around when she acts this way.

"You're absolutely right. I have to obey your mother. Right, Starfire?"

"Yes, I suppose," she giggles. Then she turns to Sylvia. "Now, you must not speak to others in such a way. It is not polite here."

"Yes, Mother." Silverfire replies dutifully, yet meekly. "When will we be there?"

"You're only half-human, don't let it show by asking the dreaded road trip question!" I half-smile at her giggle. "You're wayyy too smart for that. And too proper."

"Hahaha, Daddy, you're silly." Syl shakes her head at me, causing her silver, red, and black bangs to catch the light and shimmer.

"You are going to be most lovely when you are older," Star says to Sylvia, voicing my thoughts in her own special speech pattern. Starfire strokes Silverfire's hair gently until Syl falls asleep. Star looks up at me. "She will, will she not?"

"As far as I'm concerned, you're hardly ever wrong." Starfire just giggles a little, in her girlish way, then yawns. She tilts her head.

      "You are not tired?"

"Nah, not really. You can sleep, though. It'll be awhile." To this she simply nods, then rests her head on my shoulder, Syl asleep on her lap. I leave her to her thoughts or dreams and text Catrina, telling her we're halfway there. She replies that it only takes an hour or so to get from California to New York on a MA jet. I leave her to her very important work and study the numerous archives on my communicator. It gives me something interesting and work-related to do.

Catrina's POV

Robin's texts barely annoy me. After all, he's like my big brother. Better than my twin brother. But on the other hand, I'm trying to focus on a map my father had pulled up on the radar for me to look over. A security scan to give me something to do. Trying to text while carefully searching street view to make sure everything's alright is a bit of a challenge. Thankfully, I'm used to challenges of any kind.

"Hey, Kitty Cat!" Archer comes up behind me and brushes a lock of hair out of my face before kissing my cheek. "What are you up to?" I swat him away and make a face.

"Manually looking over this sector. Trying to get Rich to quit texting me. I think he went to sleep or something, though, so no worries."

"Ah, I see. Isn't he coming over to visit with Starfire and their kid?"

"Yep." {Alyssa was here (Ashley do not remove this if you love me)}[What the hay, Lyss? LOL, that was her addition guys, hahaha.]

"Sounds fun. Do you know her very well?"

      "Who, Starfire or Silverfire?"

      "Um, both."

"Well, Star is nice, and Sylvia is technically my niece now. She's adorable, really. I hope she's as quiet as Richard says she is. She seems to be pretty calm, though. Other than that, I don't know them on a personal level. They're staying for a week or two. I think Rich is just trying to let Bruce get to know his family."

"Probably. So... Pizza or something?" Archer leans on his elbows on the back of my chair.

"Eh, just eat with us tonight, okay?"

"Alright, I will. I'm going to go say hi to your Dad." Archer says, backing away and going off to find my father. Needless to say, they get along pretty well.

I turn back to the map. I'm just going to run the crime scanner. I sit back and wait. Hopefully, they'll be here soon, otherwise it's going to be a very slow day. I'm off today, so I have nothing really to do. That's why my dad gave me the map in the first place. We didn't ride with Richard because his room needed work. So we used the handy-dandy teleporter instead.

I look at the results. Nothing. I could just run a chemical test in my chem-lab (which is in my room). Then I could write a report on it for the MA science lab. No, it is not safe to have a chem lab in your room. Unless your parents are Batman and Catwoman and totally used to chemicals.

I sigh, stand, and stretch. Now to perform an experiment before Robin and his family get here. I hope they taught Silverfire not to mess with chemicals. What would happen if I mixed the chemical I made last time with zinc and carbon? Or hydrogen? So many possibilities and results, and so much time to do it all.

Bruce's POV

I help Alfred to make the beds in Richard's room while I wonder what they would like to do while they're here. Richard said they might go by Tamaran afterwards, but he doubts they would stay long, or even go there. He thinks Galfore will visit them at their Tower. He says he'd glad that Galfore will get to see Earth; Richard and his team have already been to Tamaran.

"I hope the little one will like the bed," Alfred states. We had brought a twin bed beside Richard's usual king-sized four-poster bed. We also remade the beds with fresh sheets and blankets, dusted the room, and cleaned the floor. I made sure Richard's laptop was up and running, and that his locks, both manual and computerized, worked. His bathroom was cleaned and the linen closet was restocked.

"I'm sure she will. I've heard a lot of good things about her," I reply.

"There. I am sure Master Richard will approve."

"He'll probably fret about the work we're done in his room." I look around at his no longer abandoned room.

"It's good to make use of this room again," Alfred gives voice to my thoughts.

"Yes. Yes, it is. I never fully realized how depressing this empty room was until now." I've always tried to put it in the back of my mind. I'm looking forward to seeing Dick [Author's Note: Dick is actually a nickname/synonym for detective, investigator, and police detective. As Robin was probably a curious youngster, and he was Batman's sidekick, it is a proper nicname for him. I thought it was interesting ^-^] again, I realize.

"I am sure they will be delighted by it, Master Bruce."

"Maybe Silverfire could stay here for a while sometimes. I'm sure Richard would like the idea."

     "What of Miss Starfire?"

"I don't know about her. Richard says she's protective of Silverfire.

"Perhaps she will become accustomed to us and will agree. Surely she will, if the child likes it here."

"I guess it all lays on the girl. It's strange to think of it, but she's basically my granddaughter."

     "It is a strange thought."

"I guess it's my job to spoil her, then," I allow myself a small smile.

"Yes, Master Bruce. I suppose that is the job of a grandparent."

"She seems to be a little angel, so I don't expect trouble from her. But if we take her anywhere, we'll probably have to get Barbara to spray her hair with temporary brown dye."

"But I thought Starfire's hair could pass for normal?"

"Hers does, but Silverfire's isn't entirely red or black. It's mostly brown, with silver highlights through it, but her bangs are both red and black, intertwined with silver. That's where she gets her name. Also, she has crystal blue eyes, like Richard and his mother. And Tamaranian name is Koviand'r. Even knowing these things, you may still be surprised."

"Does she speak as many languages as her mother?"

"All I know of are English and Tamaranian. She's two, but looks and acts as if she's at least five. Her mother told me Tamaranians seem to age quicker when they are under the age ten. Tamaranians are a bit different, but they respect and emulate our customs. Richard says they live in a harsh environment, which he thinks looks barren, but said not to tell Starfire. But they're both warm-hearted and peaceable unless provoked by a villain. Make sure no one harasses either of them."

"I do look forward to meeting them. I will ensure no harm comes to them, Master Bruce."

"Hello, Mr. Wayne!" I turn to see Archer Kingston in the doorway. "I was looking all over for you. Finally, Barbara directed me here. And here we are. This is a cool room." Archer takes the room in without moving. "I'm guessing it was Robin's?"

     "It was."

"Are you glad he's coming to visit?"

"Of course I am, Archer. Did you say hi to Cat?"

"Yep. I left her at her map to go find you and let you know I'm here."

"Well, I know now, go find her. She might get mad if you don't."

"Nah, she's cool, Mr. Wayne. She'd get mad if I bothered her anymore."

     "Anymore?"

"She was busy with the scanner and Robin's texts."

"Ah. Well, we're done here. Try to coax William out, will you?" I joke.

"Will do, sir," Archer consents as he walks out in the direction of William's room.

Starfire's POV

I awaken to the sound of Robin's voice. He is telling me that we have arrived. I am most excited to again stay here with Robin's adopted family. It will be wonderful for Silverfire to spend time with them, as they are part of her family on Earth. I wish for her to have more than simply Robin, our team, and I. She calls the team members "Aunt" or "Uncle," depending on the member she is addressing. It is most darling.

"We will have such fun, won't we, Mother?"

"Of course we will, your Grandfather- that is what he is called, yes?"

"Yeah, Star. I  guess that is what he is to Syl."

"Oh! That is most delightful! Your Grandfather will greatly enjoy visiting with you."

"Do you think so, too, Daddy?"

"With all my heart and mind," Robin responds, smiling at dear Silverfire. "Stay by your mother, okay?"

     "Yes, Father."

"Alright, sweetie, I've got your suitcase. Don't worry about it, okay?"

"O and the K, Daddy," she affirms.

"Here, I shall carry my own. You are certain that you do not require assisstance?"

"Pretty sure, Star. I'm good, her suicase doesn't weigh much."

"I would say the O and the K, but that would be to repeat the words of Silverfire. So it is the 'alright,'" I smile back at Robin and take Silverfire's hand, carrying my suitcase with my free hand. Robin leads us to the proper entrance and bows.

"I'll show you to the door, Princesses." Silverfire and I giggle at this. Robin knocks on the door and pics the suitcases back up. The friendly yet polite butler, Alfred, opens the door.

"Welcome back, Master Richard. It's a pleasure to see you again."

"And you, Alfred." Robin smiles back at Alfred. "This is our daughter, Silverfire." Silverfire curtsies neatly in Tamaranian fashion, as I taught her.

"Hello, Miss Silverfire. I assume you have been taught very proper manners. Well done, Miss. Come in, all of you." Alfred steps out of the threshold so that we may enter. He shuts and locks the door behind us. "Your bedroom has been made ready for your return. Master Bruce was eager to help."

"Thank you. It's good to be back for an official stay."

"It's my pleasure and duty, Master Richard." Robin nods, smiles again, and leads us to his room. As expected, it is pleasantly neat, and the beds are carefully made.

"Look, Syl, they made up a bed for you, too." Robin says to Silverfire.

"Oh, that is very nice of them!"

"You're welcome, little one. It's good to see you again, Richard." Bruce enters and takes the suitcases over to a closet. "There. Now, Starfire, do you know how long you will be staying?"

     "Perhaps a week?"

"You can stay as long as you like." He turns to me. "I wouldn't want you to miss your caretaker's visit, though."

"Thank you, Friend Bruce. I am certain we will enjoy our stay."

"I hope you will! I'll let you get settled. Come to the dining room when you're finished."

"Thanks, Bruce." Robin hugs Bruce before he can leave, which I believe startles his mentor. Robin smiles once again, looking quite happy. I giggle, enjoying his happiness.

"Come, Silverfire, let us arrange the closet."

"Daddy, you should help as well."

"Of course, of course." Robin says, picking Silverfire up and tickling her before he makes his way over the closet. He lets her down and opens the suitcases. "Okay, so this goes here and this should be hung, keep this on a shelf, and this goes over here..."

He continues to mutter the places of the objects he picks up as I find Silverfire's stuffed creatures, which consist of a cat, bear, and a couple of Tamaranian animals. I give them to her so that she may arrange them on her bed, which is exactly what she does as soon as she has completed the requirement of hugging them.

"I believe she will enjoy her stay." I say to Robin. He ceases to tell himself where each belonging should be, and glances up at me before returning to his task.

"I know she will. Bruce will probably dote on her while she's here. We probably won't be going on any dangerous missions. Not that you minded last time."

"No, I did not mind last time," I concur.

"I know, that's one of the great things about you. I might go on some with him, but I'll always be back before dawn, okay?"

"Yes, dear Robin. Please, do not cause harm to yourself."

     "I'll be careful. Aren't I always?"

"Mostly. I do not wish for you to be harmed here."

"Don't worry," he closes an empty suitcase and pulls a few articles from his own. "Here, put those on my desk over there, please." I nod and do as he requested, noting that one of them is a framed picture of him with his parents. I return and assist him in the putting away of the remaining objects. Robin closes the suitcases and puts them to the side of the closet. He straightens and stretches his muscles taut.

"Are we going to eat now?" Silverfire asks, tilting her head so that the light catches her innocent blue eyes and makes them sparkle.

"Yes, we are, sweetheart. Are you hungry?"

     "Yes!"

"Alright, come on. I'm sure you'll both love it." Silverfire tugs Robin's cape, which is her way of asking him to pick her up. He obliges at once, and takes my hand. He takes us to the room of dining and places Silverfire in a chair. He guides me to the left of her, knowing I would prefer to be seated beside her. He kisses the top of my head and seats himself on the other side of Silverfire, forming a protective barrier on either side of her. I smile, knowing she is safe between us, even though I know that no one will try to harm her here.

"Hello, Starfire. How are you?" Bruce asks, sitting in front of me.

"I am wonderful. And you as well?"

"I'm grand. Richard! Don't tickle the poor girl to death!"

     "Sorry, Bruce! She's so ticklish!"

"But, Daddy, I don't wanna be tickled! Mommy, do you think he should tickle me?"

"Robin, do not tickle Silverfire." I answer primly.

     "B- but-"

"No." I cross my arms and pretend to be upset with Robin.

"Aw." Silverfire giggles at Robin's dramatic expression.

     "Ssh." I hush him.

     "Fine."

"I assume this is a frequently played game?" Bruce asks.

"Yeah. One of Syl's favorites," Robin answers. "Hey, there's Cat and Will. Hi guys."

"Hey," Catrina replies. Her brother nods in response and sits a few seats away from everyone. Selina [Yes, I realize I've been spelling it wrong, I'll fix it when I can. XD thank you to those who noticed and questioned it.] soon comes in and sits across from Silverfire, while Catrina chooses to sit across from Robin. Archer rushes into the room and quite comically leaps for the seat beside Catrina. Catrina conceals a small smile as he sits.

"So, Friend Archer, you have come to visit as well?"

"Not as long as you, Robin, and your little angel. But, yeah."

"He does seem to like hanging around," Selina says with a smirk.

"How could I ever stay away?" Archer laughs and nudges Catrina playfully, which causes her to roll her eyes.

"So what delicious wonder today?" Robin asks Bruce.

"I have no idea. It's a surprise. William, sit over here." Brue nods to the unoccupied seat beside him. William obeys soundlessly, as if he is preoccupied with his thoughts, as seems to be his custom. Selina begins talking animatedly with Silverfire, entertaining her with a story.

"Ah, here is everyone." Alfred enters, and Catrina springs up to assist him. I lend my assistance as well, to be cordial, and also because I simply wish to provide assistance. I feel an affinity for the elder, as I tend to have also for children. He smiles as I easily lift a platter of which I assume is considered heavy. "Thank you."

"It is not of the problem."

"I can see that, young lady." I carry the platter to the table, where Bruce gives each plate to its proper place. Alfred sets the kettle of tea on the table, which is Selina's duty to properly administer. I aid where I may, but I am soon implored to seat myself and relax.

     "Auntie Raven drinks tea."

     "She drinks herbal tea, Syl."

"Who said it wasn't herbal? It's jasmine," Catrina informs Robin and Silverfire.

"Oh. See, it tastes just as Raven's." I say to Silverfire.

     "Except jasmin-ier," Silverfire adds.

     "Yes," I agree.

"In a good way, I should hope."

"Alfred, this is amazing, of course it's in the good way," Robin exudes, stirring a cube of sugar into Silverfire's glass.

"Robin, do not add too much sugar to her tea. I do not think it would taste pleasant." I chide gently.

"I won't, don't worry, Star," he assures me.

"I will not do the worrying."

     "Good."

"But you will be careful, yes?" I venture.

     "Of course."

     "You are certain?"

     "Yes."

     "Truly?"

     "Yes."

     "The O and the K."

      "What's that mean?"

"That's how she says, "okay," Catrina."

"Oh. Well, only you would know, Dick."

"Nah. The whole team knows." ALyssa was here [*facepalm*]

"I was talking about here, Rich."

"My team would know if they were here."

     "Mommy?"

     "Yes?"

"Are we talking of your vocabulary?"

"I believe we are talking of my manner of speaking."

"Well, I like the way you speak."

"Thank you, Silverfire, that is most sweet of you."

"Daddy says it all the time."

     "Does he?"

     "Yes."

     "Oh, I see."

     "Uh..."

     "Heehee, you are the flustered!"

"Nuh-uh! Hey, Syl, need more sugar?"

     "No, Mommy will be upset."

"She does not want the sugar."

     "Yes, Princess Koriand'r."

     "Must you be formal?"

     "I'm just teasing."

     "Oh. The sarcastic?"

     "No, more like, the joking."

     "I do not understand."

     "It's okay... I don't either..."

If you guys didn't get who was speaking (I tried to make it clear without stating outright:

Starting with "What's that mean?" because it's obviously an exchange between Robin and Star until then: Cat, then Robin, Cat again, Robin, Cat, Robin, Syl and Star until "Uh..." which is Robin, then it's Star, Robin, Syl, Star, Robin, and then it's an exchange between Star and Robin. It ends with Robin.

You guys should totally listen to "Hundred More Years" by Fransesca Batistelli! I think it goes nicely. ^-^ And "Angel By Your Side" is just a great song. Also by her. :) But anyway, I really hope you guys LOVED this chapter. Long story short, I typed this WHOLE thing on my dinosaur laptop, and it's so old, it doesn't even have a flash drive slot, so lucky me got to write it down in its notebook (yes, my stories all have their own notebooks. At least, most of them do.) and then type it all over again on darling Wattpad. It was worth it, dear Nabicans of mine. Dont fret, or feel bad, writing should have your all, especially when it's based on such an amazing show such as Teen Titans and all of DC's many heroes. And, also, it will be awhile before Jinx West is posted since it also suffered the same fate. I'll get started on it right away. -_-* It's really irritating. I am truly sorry for the delay, and I am so eager to post it. Please let all your fellow readers of Jinx's Flight know this, thank you.

And it's an entirely new book. ^-^
