Robin's POV
I paced the room, glad to be released from the infirmary. I smiled a little at Star, who was playing with the dog. She giggled as it licked her face. I resumed pacing and sighed. Why did Slade kidnap those heroes? Why did he kidnap Star? There had to be a reason.
"Robin."
"Yes, Star?" I turned to her.
"Why are you doing the pacing?" Star inquired.
"Just thinking." I sat down at the evidence table and looked at the evidence strewn all over it.
"Oh. What is it you are thinking of?" She came over and rested her hand on my shoulder.
"This crazy mess we're in because of Slade. I'm wondering when the real fight's going to start. Hmm...." I narrowed my eyes thoughtfully and sighed again. Starfire hugged me and walked over to Jorvunder and rubbed him behind his ears.
"I do not know. Perhaps you should make inquiries to Ashley. Or perhaps Catrina could inform you." Star suggested. I nodded.
"Maybe." I stood and walked into the kitchen to grab a snack. Ashley was in the living room with Catrina and Mary. Ashley was trying to talk to BB, but he was playing Space Racers IV against Cyborg. BB hit nitro and his spaceship passed Cyborg's and crossed the finish line.
"YES!!! I BEAT YOU! HAHAHAHA!" BB yelled in triumph. "GAH! Dude! Where did you come from?!"
"Tawaii. We've been here for... how long?" Ashley looked to Mary.
"40 minutes. Vaiting for zem to finish zeir... game." Mary glared at Beast Boy and Cyborg, who cowered from her disapproving glare.
"Sooo... anyway... Where's Robin?" Ashley asked, crossing her arms again.
"Umm... Oh! Hey, Robin! What's up?" BB said, spotting me.
"Any news?" I asked.
"Yeah. Cat, why don't you fill him in on details while I find Raven and- well, just Raven." Starfire walked in from our room. Ashley checked the kitchen and found Raven. "Alright."
"Well, we have an alliance with Japan now, we brought in some more heroes, you get to help with training, and Ashley will make the war official by a public announcement to all MA Bases and will inform the Justice League and Young Justice League tomorrow morning around 11 AM." Catrina stated, going through the business like she'd done it a million times, which she probably had. "And there's an assembly at 6 PM today in the auditorium. You know, the place with all the chairs that's usually the café? Catrina and Mary walked out, no doubt to spread the news. Ashley followed, then turned around abruptly.
"Oh yeah, there's a visitor for you. I'll show you where he's at. He's in one of the guest rooms. I'm sure you'll remember him when you see him." I followed Ashley out the door. The intercom clicked on and Catrina's voice echoed down the hallways.
"Assembly in the Auditorium at 6 PM today, and all board members have an assembly in the Meeting Hall at 11 AM tomorrow. All members and visitors to be present." The intercom clicked off. Okay then. Short and stern. Cat doesn't really do sweet. We came to a guest room, this one being like a sitting room. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the inhabitant.
"Tre- I mean, Scar! How- why-?" I stuttered at the sight of my old friend. He's 19 (going on 20) and wears a red suit that kinda looks like a mix of Batman's (the Dark Knight movies one), Batman Beyond, and the New 52 Nightwing. He uses a special gun that fires sphere-like bullets that aren't meant to kill, has batarangs, normal Batman-like equipment, and a bat blade for melee combat. He has green eyes and dark brown hair that hangs in his face. He can joke around a lot but acts as serious as Batman when he is on missions. His real name is Trevor Bat. He lives alone and in an underground cave base. He tries to stay out of Batman's business but likes to check up on (usually without him knowing) me. I know him from back during my Gotham days when he helped me take down Hush. [From the Author: Extra info!!: After hearing about the Titans, Scar (as he's some times called) moved to Jump City to keep a closer eye on his ally. He has observed the Titans joining up with MA and is pondering joining. But he's willing to help Robin in any way necessary. BTW, this description, even the part from the author, was provided by HALOgunner, the creator. Thanks!! ^-^]
"Came to check up on you. I know how much trouble you can get into, with all your crime fighting." Scar teased. I teased him right back by giving him a semi-skeptical look.
"Yeah... It's great to see you, though! Sooo... are you going to help with-" Ashley interrupted me before I could finish my question. I glared at her disapprovingly as she answered.
"Actually- don't look at me like that! Actually, he's going to help, but he isn't joining... right away, of course. But he's gonna live here in one of the extra rooms in your living area... unless you want him to just sleep in a guest room... all alone..." Ashley looked at me and cocked her head to one side.
"He can stay with us! I mean, he's staying with us. We have a lot of catching up to do. Can we go now?" I hated sitting still when plans were to be made. In fact, I just hated doing nothing.
"Of course. Door's open, go right ahead. I have to go to a meeting. Bye!" Ashley teleported to wherever she was going and the lights turned out as the doors opened. They shut behind us when we exited.
"So, what's the latest news in Gotham?"
Catrina's POV
I turned from the intercom and headed down to the office to sort through some paperwork and run a security scan. Robin would be really glad to have his old friend back. I allowed myself a small smile, which quickly turned into a scowl when I saw Ballrine. Great, I thought.
"Now what are you doing?" I asked. "You're supposed to be in ballet or something so you'll be out of the way fo the war plans! Go! Get back to class!" I glared at her until she finally turned sheepishly and ran back to her class. I picked up the attendance sheet she'd dropped. Why did they let her out of class? She's so much trouble... Five minutes, three minutes, it didn't matter. It didn't take long for trouble to find Ballrine or for Ballrine to find trouble. Of course, she tended to make her own trouble. I finished my journey to the office, and threw the attendance down in the box. Why that hippie ballet instructor didn't use the computer, I'll never know. I don't really care. I have my own things to do. I'll get on to her later, after I finish setting up for tonight's show in the auditorium where Ashley would be announcing the war.
As I sat down, I noticed a message had popped up on my computer screen. It was from Ashley about registering a new hero for her since she was busy.
"Hey, Cat! Could you register Archer Kingston for me? I'm kinda busy, but I'll bring him by at about 2 PM. Here's the general summary (with notes):
Archer Kingston:
Age: 16
Physical description: brown hair with natural blonde highlights, dark emerald eyes with some sapphire mixed in
Attitude: slightly cocky, in-charge, ladies man (have fun with that, Cat)
Personality: leader, intelligent, fighter
Attributes: brilliant, natural leader, heroic, loner
Background: Had a strict Dad and sweet Mom who died in an explosion at age 11, making him who he is today. Has trust issues, never has had a solid relationship. Has a secret fear of swimming (no being mean or exploiting) due to the fact that he almost drowned in an ocean current at age 5 and was rescued at the last moment by his father.
Thanks Cat!
- Ashley Michelle"
I sighed. It was 1:45. I put in the information, but waited to finish filling it out. I had to meet him first. And of course I'd have to do an evaluation to decide whether or not he could join our forces, which is my duty as commander of the whole thing. I also might have to assign a position. "Here we go." I muttered, as I scheduled an exam for special training and an obstacle course with Mary and Ashley. I sat back in my chair and idly straightened papers as I waited. "Come in!" I yelled, watching Ashley and a guy who I assumed was Archer come up to the door through the camera on my screen. I clicked on the icon and the door opened. My Dad showed up with them. He needed to evaluate the guy himself to decide what he thought about him. Ashley was bringing in a lot of new people. I didn't mind, so far they could all fight well. Just a few extra things to do, and that was that. There were lots of things I didn't care about. I do my duties, and that's all that matters. Whether I enjoy all of them or not. Like taking care of Ballrine. I'd rather give her a good dunk in a pike-infested lake to teach her some lessons.
"Hey Cat, sorry to give you short notice, but at least you're here." Ashley said, sitting Archer down in the seat directly across from me and sitting to the right of him while Dad sat on the left.
"Don't worry about me. We just need to get whatever needs to be done, done. We have preparations, and you still haven't sent anything of much importance to me yet. You, Archer, hold on, we have until 5:45, then we head to the auditorium. More than enough time." I swiveled my chair to face Ashley. "War plans before business."
"I'll send it, I'll send it, official planning begins tonight, after the meeting all board members are to go to the meeting room, I was going to announce it tonight." Ashley waved it off casually. "Now will you please register Archer and be nice while doing it? As in not soul-crushing? Thanks, I really have to go coordinate the stuff in the auditorium. Bye!" She ran out, yelling, "I'm COMING, Mary! Please stop blowing up my communicator!"
"Oooookay then... Archer..... it looks as though you are without back-up. Now, listen here, we have rules. You are not to talk back to your superiors. I don't care if you talk back to your elders or whatnot, not my suit. I run a tighter ship than Ashley, and I'm not easy-going with mistakes." I glared for effect. "You have an evaluation to show up to at 1 PM tomorrow, that should clear the assembly and lunch. Do NOT be late. Or I will personally punch you in the gut and throw you into the pegasus pen. Is that clear?"
"Yeah. Are you always like this?" Archer didn't seem phased at all by my intimidation. I just stared at him. "Do I need to study or something?"
"No. Of course not. What do I look like, a school teacher?"
"No, more like a ticked biker chic."
"Excuse me?" I narrowed my eyes. He did not just say that. I turned and typed a message to Mary. I told her to haul herself down to my office NOW. "You're pushing it. Answer. The questions. And say NOTHING else." I shoved a form across the table. It was a couple of sheets, it would take a little bit.
"I have another question."
"What. Now?" I tossed a pen on top of the papers, enunciating my words peevishly.
"Why is this tough-looking dude here?" He pointed at my Dad.
"That's my Dad, he came to beat you to a pulp if you didn't participate. Shut up and fill the form." I put in earphones and pointedly turned away from him. He was getting on my nerves. Just then, Mary entered. I sighed and pointed to the empty chair. I was busy listening to the communications around MA.
"Hey." I heard Archer say to Mary.
"Fill ze form, please, Catrina must have you vegistered." Archer turned back to his form. Huh. Intimidation is usually the best way to get these people to behave. But I knew a lot of people whose buttons worked differently. I guess his did, too. Whoops.
"Done." Archer pushed the papers back. 5 minutes. Mary looked at me questionably. I held up a hand, signifying five minutes. She looked impressed. I nodded and scanned the form, front and back and finished registering.
"I registered you, now all that's left is the evaluation and we'll be done. Thanks." I added grudgingly. Archer grinned slightly.
"No problem. Anything else?"
"No. Go with Mary. She'll deal with you. I'll-"
"I must attend to ze pegasus."
"I need to help with the assembly. I'll see you later, Catrina. I'll see you there." My Dad said, leaving his post. They both left me alone with Archer.
"Here's a map, now you can go to your quarters. I think you can handle that." I passed him a map. "I have to finish this paperwork."
"Changed your tune a bit?" He smirked as I glowered in response. "I think so... So, why did everyone just abandon ship? I thought we had till 5:45?"
"Yeah, you'll need that time to settle in. I'll come and collect you." I said patiently.
"'Collect'? What am I, a rock? Jeez. This rock is moving on out of this very grimly decorated office. Nice swords, by the way." Archer pointed at the twin crossed swords on the wall to the left of him.
"Yeahhhh.... you better get moving before I toss you out like a sack of pebbles. I have work to do and I swear I'm going to hurt Ashley if she doesn't send that list soon." I turned back to my work.
"Mmkay then." Archer left, the door closing and locking automatically behind him. I turned the lights up a little. I always kept them on dim when visitors came. I sighed at the length of some kid's paper that I had to read. Why I let her assign me to this class I'll never know. It was about unicorns and princess fairies. No doubt Ballrine's. I was bored the whole way through and she's lucky I even gave her a B. I should have given her D- or an F. Man, I wanted to give her an F. Whatever. The only interesting story out of the 10 mostly boring papers was the one about a bullfrog named Fred who ate poisonous snakes and died when he ate a normal fly. I gave it an A for being the most interesting one. I still had to type my own paper. I was in the higher ranking class. Sadly, Ballrine visits often. Mary is also a member, but that isn't a bad thing. The class had the kids in the army and was taught by Ashley. It was okay, I guess, but we had weird teachers sometimes.
"Ugh, essays." I decided to type up a paper on how to fly a jet. There were some pretty bad fliers taking a pilot class, which I taught. Maybe I'll use this. At least it's more interesting than bunnies.
Archer's POV
It took awhile to find my 'quarters', in fact, 30 minutes. It was a nice place, kind of like an apartment. I wasn't worried about the really grumpy commander who turned out to be a girl. Weird. Ashley had said, "you'll have to meet our other commander, you've already met Mary, she's one of them. Careful, this commander's a bit irritable... very... touchy..." ha, talk about 'touchy', she was just very, very grumpy. Apparently, she was always like that. I wondered why they were having two assemblies two days in a row as I looked out the window over the kitchen sink at the pegasus. The talking anthro-fox had kind of surprised me, but with all the strange animals they had here, it was kind of hard to make a big deal out of that. I could get used to it. I saw a black jet shoot over the stables, but at its speed, it was more of a black blur. My communicator clicked, the only warning that someone was calling.
"Archer, you should sign up for your classes soon. You can use the computer in your room. When you're done, you could walk around the base until it's time to go to the assembly. Of course, I think Catrina is going to come by, so make sure you're here or she won't be very happy with you." Ashley paused. "And you don't want to be on her bad side." It clicked off. The people around here tend to drop by randomly and leave just as quicky.
"Okay..." I said to no one in particular.

Tell me what you think so far!!
And if you have any suggestions, that would be super. ;)
Also, vote, comment, follow (VCF) all the wattpadders are doing it ;D LOL, but seriously, it's a VERY good procedure for any book you like.
And if you have ANY questions at all, don't even think about asking them. JUST KIDDING!!! If you have ANY questions whatsoever, ASK ME. I do not bite people for asking questions. We would all be in a pickle if nobody asked questions. XD
<3 Ashley Michelle
And that is my lovely author's note ^-^ :D
