Kevin and the Rainbooms were at Applejack's place, practicing the musical counter-spell in the barn next to the house. 

Unfortunately Twilight's singing is off-key and Kevin along with the rest of the girls are having trouble playing with their instruments at the right notes for the song which meant that girls couldn't transform.

Eventually all of them stopped playing and looked down.

Spike: "Um that sounded way better than the last five times you've played it." He tried to reassure all of them.

Big Mac: "Nnope." He said as walked by.

Rainbow Dash: "I think it's pretty obvious what's going wrong with the counter-spell."

Applejack: "You turnin' what should be the chorus into a five minute guitar solo?" She said a little annoyed with Rarity agreeing with her.

Rainbow Dash: "I have to pick up the slack somehow! Are you guys even trying?!"

Fluttershy: "I'm trying."

Kevin: "We're all trying. We just have to keep practicing until we get the counter-spell down."

Twilight Sparkle: "It's fine. It'll be fine." She laughed nervously.  "One more time from the top!" She said.

Rarity: "Or perhaps we can take a short break, try on some wardrobe choices I've put together?" She suggested as takes out a rack which had some outfits on. "I'm particularly fond of this one." She said as she puts on a fancy jacket.

Rarity: "Of course we could always go with something a bit more modern."

Applejack: "We tryin' to save our school here. Enough with the costume!" She scolds Rarity who quickly changed outfits into a Daft Punk outfit.

Rarity: "Oh you can never have enough costumes!" She said as the helmet she's wearing makes her voice robotic.

Kevin: "Sorry Rare but I gotta agree with AJ. Saving our school is more important."

Rarity: "Wha-You too?!" She said shocked as she was back in her normal outfit.

Pinkie Pie: "She just wants to make things fun! Isn't that what being in a band supposed to be?" She said unhappy and played a rimshot on her drums.

Kevin: "Look I get that you want to have fun but if the Dazzlings gain more power through negativity then who know what they'll do when they gain enough power. They might even try to take over our world since they couldn't take over Equestria." He explained.

Sunset Shimmer: "None of you have time for this!" She said, getting everyone's attention. "You're suppose to check in at the Battle of the Bands in fifteen minutes." She said which made them gasp in realization and started to get ready for the battle of the bands.

Twilight Sparkle: "What?! But it's not ready! If we play our counter-spell in the first round and it doesn't work, the sirens will know what we're up to and make sure we don't get a chance to play it again!" She said which made everyone stop what they were doing.

Kevin: "Twilight's right. If we try the counter-spell in the first round and it doesn't work, the sirens will be on to us and make sure we don't get a second chance. So there's only one thing to do, we need to complete the counter-spell." He said.

Rarity: "But how do you propose we do that?"

Kevin: "There's only one choice, we have to compete in the Battle of the Bands for real."

Rainbow Dash: "Then I take lead vocals again and we stay alive until the finals and we will unleash the counter-spell at the finals." She said before looking at Twilight. "You'll have it figured it out by the finals, right Twilight?" She asked Twilight who looked nervous.

Spike: "Of course she will." He jumped in. "Twilight Sparkle's never met a problem she couldn't solve. Right Twilight?"

Twilight Sparkle: "Right." She said but not so confidently.

Rainbow Dash: "Then let's go win us a Battle of the Bands!" She said as they all while Twilight has a nervous look on her face.

In the school gym, the Battle of the Bands is close to beginning as the competitors sat on the belcher's as Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna were on stage.

Principal Celestia: "Welcome to the first ever Canterlot High School Battle of the Bands! I believe I speak for everyone when I say it is by far the greatest thing we have ever done here at this school." She said which made all the competitors cheer. "We are so glad our three newest students encouraged us to turn this event into something exciting." She said as she referred to the Dazzlings who are sitting on the top row of the belchers.

Vice Principal Luna: "But as this is now a competition, we can only choose one winner. Who is it going?" She said which soon made the competitors argued with each other.

This allowed the Dazzlings to absorb the negativity the competitors were creating which made the Dazzlings grin.

Adagio Dazzle: "You feel that girls? Our true power is being restored." She said which made Aria and Sonata giggle.

Kevin and the Rainbooms enter the gym Which gained the Dazzlings' attention.

Adagio Dazzle: "And that's before we've tapped into the strongest magic here." She said as she referred to the Rainbooms.

Aria Blaze: "But the Rainblossoms or whatever they're called aren't under our spell along with that Kevin guy. How exactly are we suppose to get their magic?"

Adagio Dazzle: "The Rainbooms are just as capable of falling apart as anyone else. They just need a little...push in the wrong direction. I have a feeling everyone here is going to be lining up to give them a shove." She said as along with Aria and Sonata grin sinisterly at Kevin and the Rainbooms.

The Battle of the Band began with Snips and Snails performing a hip-hop  duet which just confused everyone or bored them or they were not impressed, the only ones that seem to get into Snips and Snails hip-hop song is Pinkie and Sonata while Adagio and  Aria just shake their heads in amusement.

Snips and Snails end their rap with a mic drop which lead to a few seconds of silence.

Principal Celestia: "Please do not drop the microphones." Is all she said in an unamused tone as the Snips and Snails hi-five and walk off stage.

Snips: "In your face Rainbooms!" He said as he and Snails passed by.

Kevin: "That was...something." He said.

Applejack: "Least we know one group who won't stand in the way of us gettin' to the finals." She said smugly.

Rainbow Dash: "Let's get ready to rock." She got excited.

Pinkie Pie: "Wait, where's Rarity?" She pointed out in which Kevin noticed Rarity wasn't around.

Kevin: "Yeah where is she?"

Rarity: "Here I am." She said as she appeared wearing a hippie-inspired outfit with metal fringes.

Kevin and the others stare at Rarity.

Rarity: "We will be performing in front of an audience. I'm not going to wear something fabulous? Hmph." She said which made Applejack facepalm.

Kevin: "Let's just play."

Shortly Kevin and the Rainbooms were on stage, getting ready to play as the other competitors waited.

Twilight Sparkle: "We have to be good enough to make it through but not so good we let the sirens see the magic within us." She tells the Rainbooms.

Kevin: "Twilight's got a point, if the sirens see you transform then they'll know you have magic and may realize what we are planning against them." He said.

Rainbow Dash: "Got it! Be cool enough to win but not so cool that we end up showing off the whole ears and tails and rainbow and blaster thing. Soo...about twenty percent less cool."

Kevin: "Yeah pretty much let's get this started."

Pinkie Pie: "One! Two!" She said she tapped her drumsticks.

(AN: I'm skipping this because it's going to be hard to put in the details of when the sabotage happened during the song.)

Kevin and the Rainbooms played Shake Your Tail and the performance...didn't go so well.

Other competitors decide to sabotage Kevin and the Rainbooms performance with the Snapshots manipulate Rarity's movements with magnets that connected to the metal fringes on Rarity's dress and eventually the sleeves on Rarity's dress where ripped off near the end of the song which made her upset while Snips and Snails take advantage of Fluttershy's stage fright by holding a spotlight over her which made her run around the stage to not be in the spotlight, not to mention Pinkie turned with her drums into a confetti cannon and shooting out some confetti with Twilight almost choking on a piece of confetti with Twilight almost choking on a piece of confetti which Fluttershy knocks out of her.

Once the song finished, only Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna applauded and Kevin and the Rainbooms went backstage where Rarity cries dramatically.

Rarity: "Ruined! Absolutely ruined!"

Applejack: "Rarity, were you tryin' to make us lose out there?!" She demanded to know.

Rarity: "Wh-Oh! This was not my fault! This is act of sabotage!" She counted back.

Applejack: "Yeah, well, whoever did this couldn't have done this if you don't insist on dressing' like...like this!" She said as she pointed Rarity's dress angerly while Kevin, Twilight, Sunset, Sunshine and Spike watch in worry. "We need to sound good. Is there a reason that concept seems to escape you?"

Rainbow Dash: "And what was the confetti Pinkie Pie? How am I suppose to shred if there's paper stuck in my frets?!" She complained at Pinkie.

Fluttershy: "It was pretty distracting..." She agreed with Rainbow Dash.

Pinkie Pie: "Ugh! Says the girl who was running from a light the whole time! A light!" She said back to Fluttershy.

Kevin: "Tatakai o yameru!" He tell the girls who look at him. "If we start fighting each other then the sirens might feed on our negativity and get stronger."

Sunshine Shimmer: "Kevin is right and besides, you all still sounded much better than most of the bands. I'm sure you'll make it to the next round but it won't matter if you don't have the counter-spell ready." She said which made Twilight a little nervous. "You all find a place to practice where the sirens can't hear you. I'll keep an eye out on things here."

Kevin and the Rainbooms had left the area and went to practice while the Dazzlings are walking through an hallway.

Aria Blaze: "So what do you think about Kevin's magic?"

Adagio Dazzle: "I don't know yet. I do know that Kevin's magic isn't Equestrian magic but I still have no idea what magic is."

Principal Celestia (On P.A System): "The next band to take the stage will be Trixie and the Illusions."

Adagio Dazzle: "We better head back. We're supposed to go after Trixie." She said as they keep walking through the hallway and are about to go through the entrance to the gym but only to see Sunset and Sunshine Shimmer with their arms crossed.

Sunset Shimmer: "You're never gonna get away with this." She said seriously.

Adagio Dazzle: "Why? Because the both of you didn't?" She mocked Sunset and Sunshine Shimmer whose eyes widen in shock.

Sunshine Shimmer: "What?!" She said surprised.

Adagio Dazzle: "Oh we know all about Sunset Shimmer and you too Sunshine Shimmer. You've got quite the reputation here at Canterlot High."

Sunset Shimmer: "We've changed! We're in a much better place now!"

Aria Blaze: "Waiting in the wings while you friends have all the fun?" She taunted.

Adagio Dazzle: "Oh yes, you girls are so tight and yet...they didn't ask the both of you to join the band. Not even Kevin asked you both if you two wanted to join the band."

Aria: "They probably afraid that no one would want to see them play if your in the group."

Sonata Dusk: "Too bad! So sad!"

Adagio Dazzle: "If it's any consolation, no one is going to remember you at all by the time we're done." She says as she and the other two sirens leaving Sunset and Sunshine alone who looks down with a look of sadness.

The Dazzlings were on stage in the gymnasium with the curtains closed while everyone waited for them.

Adagio Dazzle: "Remember girls, we want to save the good stuff for when our full power has been restored." She  tells the other Dazzlings who nod and their pendants glow a little.

The curtains opened the Dazzlings begin to perform.

Time Skip

As the Battle of the Bands happens, many of the competitors were arguing and created negativity that the Dazzlings feed off of. Meanwhile Twilight tried to create the counter-spell song, the rest of the Rainbooms arguing with Kevin trying to stop them and Sunset and Sunshine watches as they look down very sad. Many bands were eliminated one by one but Kevin along with the Rainbooms made it to the semi-finals where they would face off against Trixie and the Illusions.

As for the Dazzlings, they manage to defeated Flash and his band in the semi-finals which meant they would be in the finals and this angered Flash who storms off.

Kevin and the Rainbooms were backstage, getting ready to perform in the semi-finals.

Sunset Shimmer: "This is it! The last round and you're in the finals. Unless you think the counter-spell is ready to be played now." She asks Twilight at the end who looks nervous.

Kevin: "The counter-spell isn't ready is it?" He asked Twilight nods nervously.

Applejack: "Don't worry Twilight. Finals aren't until tonight. We'll get in a little more practice before we're suppose to hit the stage. We won't let you down." She says with everyone agreeing with her.

Twilight Sparkle: "You won't let me down..." She muttered sadly which Sunset, Sunshine and Kevin seemed to have noticed.

Fluttershy: "Um, I was just wondering. We haven't played any of my song yet and-" She started to say but was interrupted.

Rainbow Dash: "It's the semi-finals. We gotta do "Awesome As I Wanna Be."

Fluttershy: "Don't even know why I even asked..." She muttered unhappy.

Time Skip

Trixie and the Illusions finished playing their song which the crowd cheer to.

Principal Celestia: "Fantastic!" She cheered.

Trixie's bandmates leave the stage while Trixie goes up to Kevin and the Rainbooms.

Trixie Lulamoon: "Hmph. You're never gonna top that performance "Rain-Gooms." You shouldn't be allowed perform when you have a big advantage over us."

Rainbow Dash: "My superior guitar playing skills and off-the-charts awesome singing voice?" She said proudly which made Trixie rolls her eyes.

Trixie Lulamoon: "Oh don't be ridiculous. I mean those two." She said as she pointed at Me and Twilight. "If you really all that Rainbow Dash, you wouldn't have needed to bring in two magical ringers to have half a chance. Everyone's talking about it." She said arrogantly.

Rainbow Dash: "Ha! Puh-leeze! I could win this thing as a solo act and everybody knows it." She said which made her friends annoyed with that attitude while Kevin facepalmed and Trixie scoffs.

Trixie Lulamoon: "Sure you could." She said before throwing a smoke bomb down to the ground and when the smoke cleared, she disappeared.

Pinkie Pie: "She's gone!" She said surprised before seeing Trixie hiding behind the drum platform. Oh wait. There she is." She pointed out which made Trixie speed away.

Principal Celestia: "Next up, the Rainbooms." She announced as Kevin and his bandmates go on stage with unhappy looks on their faces.

Spike: "Knock'em dead, Rainbooms!" He cheered.

Sunset Shimmer: "We'll be here..." She started to say happy at first before gaining a sad look on there faces. "...Just watching." She finished sadly which he noticed.

Kevin: 'Why does Sunset and Sunshine look upset? Does...does Sunset and Sunshine want to join the band?' He thought.

Me and the Rainbooms got on stage and began to perform.

As me and the girls kept playing, all got annoyed with Rainbow Dash as she was showing off during a guitar solo but then me, Sunset and Sunshine noticed Rainbow was starting to transform.

Kevin: 'Yare Yare Daze! We can't let Rainbow transform. What do we do?' I thought but then something unexpected happened...

Sunset leaps on stage but accidently pounces onto Rainbow Dash who then bumps into Twilight who then bumps into Rarity and drags her down by her keytar which makes Rarity kick Applejack's bass out of Applejack's arms and it lands into Pinkie's drums. This all results in ending the song short.

The gymnasium light turn back on and Fluttershy being a little stage, runs backstage while Rainbow's tranforms disappears before it could fully happen. Rainbow Dash wasn't happy with what Sunset did as she, Sunset, Twilight and Rarity got back up while Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna did not have amused looks on their faces.

Flash Sentry: "Now that's the bad girl we love to hate!" He called out from the stands which resulted in the crowd agreeing with him and jeering at Sunset.

Sunset Shimmer: "No it isn't like that." She muttered while I approached her and put a hand on her shoulder.

Kevin: "Come on, let's get off the stage." I tell her and she nods as me and the girls went backstage while the Dazzlings smiled evilly at the situation which I noticed and glared at them.  'You three aren't getting away with this. ' I thought.

Me and Sunset were the last two to join the Rainbooms and they were not happy.

Rainbow Dash: "What was that?!" She demanded to know.

Sunset Shimmer: "You were showing them your magic. I-I didn't know what to do." She explained.

Rarity: "Close the curtains? Unplug her amp? Give us a chance to explain the situation?"

Sunset Shimmer: "I'm sorry. I just wanted to help." She said sadly.

Rainbow Dash: "Yeah well you didn't."

Applejack: "None of this would've happened if you weren't tryin' to show off as usual." She said to Rainbow Dash.

Kevin: "I gotta agree with AJ on this one. I saw you transforming when you showing off with the guitar solo Rainbow Dash and if you did fully transform, then the sirens would know you have magic and they might figure out about the counter-spell we're planning." I said then Trixie shows up.

Trixie Lulamoon: "Good show "Rain-brooms." I especially like the part where Sunset Shimmer in a fit of jealous rage knocked out Rainbow Dash mid-guitar solo!" She taunted.

Sunset Shimmer: "It wasn't a fit of jealous rage!" She yelled angerly at Trixie but it didn't help her case as her friends looked away which made her feel embarrassed.

Trixie Lulamoon: "If you say so." She said before looking at Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna who were backstage across from you and the girls. "Ooh! Looks like they've already decided who'll be moving on the finals. I'm guessing it wasn't too difficult a decision."

Then the door near Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna opens and the Dazzlings enter and start signing around the Principal and Vice Principal, putting the two under the Dazzlings spells which me and Sunset noticed.

Kevin: 'What are they doing now?' I thought.

Rarity: "What can we do? There isn't gonna be another opportunity for us to play and I had the most gorgeous outfits for the finals." She complained.

Applejack: "You 'cause that's the real tragedy here, Rarity. That you won't get to play dress-up."

Rarity: "You know perfectly well that is not what I meant. She argued back.

Rainbow Dash: "You guys wanna keep it down? They're about to announce who's moving on."

Fluttershy: "Who are you kidding? You know it isn't going to be us."

Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna step on stage to announce who would advance to the finals.

Principal Celestia: "The band that will be joining the Dazzlings in tonight's finals is...the Rainbooms!" She announced which shocked everyone.

Trixie Lulamoon: "WHAT?!"

Pinkie Pie: "Did she just say "the Rainbooms?!"

Kevin: "She did." I said. 'I don't get it. How did we get into the finals after our short performance unless...the Dazzlings! They have used their magic to manipulate Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna into putting us into the finals but why?' I thought.

Trixie Lulamoon: "This isn't over!" She said and stormed off.

Me and the Rainbooms step on stage with the Principal and Vice Principal.

Principal Celestia: "Congratulations Rainbooms, you deserve it."

Pinkie Pie: "Seriously?! We didn't even finish our-" She almost finished before being elbowed by Rainbow Dash to be quiet while the Dazzlings step on stage as well.

Adagio Dazzle: "See you at tonight's big show Rainbooms. We really looking forward to it." She said before she and the other Dazzlings walk off.

Rainbow Dash: "Yeah well...not as much as we are."

Then the crowd starts to boo and jeer at Kevin and the Rainbooms which Kevin was really annoyed from the crowd and he start yelling at them.

Kevin: "YAKAMASHI ALL OF YOU ARE FREAKING ANNOYING!"

That causes the crowd eyes widen and start shaking in fear they and stand still as they spoke.

Crowd: "Sorry sir."

Kevin: "Let's get out of here." He said and the girls nodded as all of us left the gym.

Trixie Lulamoon: "This is a travesty! A travesty!" She said in an overdramatically fashion before the Dazzlings approached her.

Adagio Dazzle: "It really is. The Rainbooms don't deserve to be in the finals. Not when your band was so much better in the semi-finals."

Aria Blaze: "And wanted it so much more."

Adagio Dazzle: "Alas, this is the way it's going to be, Dazzlings vs Rainbooms."

Sonata Dusk: "Unless of course the Rainbooms don't manage to make it to their set or held up for six reason."

After hearing what Sonata said, Trixie thinks for a moment before an idea comes to her mind and she chuckles sinisterly while Adagio and Aria smirk evilly.

Me and the Rainbooms at amphitheatre stage where the finals are going to be as all of us getting are equipment ready for the finals.

Rainbow Dash: "Check, one, two. Testing, testing..." She said as she does a mic check while Sunset moves a switch on the audio mixer that increases the sound up. "Testing..." She said which caused her voice to echo loudly through the speaks which Sunset realizes and moves the switch before back down to decrease the sound, stopping the loud echo.

Fluttershy: "This doesn't make any sense. We were awful. Doesn't anybody else think it's strange that we're the ones that made it to the finals?" She questioned but before anyone could answer, Trixie and her bandmates appear.

Trixie Lulamoon: "What are you doing here Trixie? Pretty sure the losers are supposed to be up there in the cheap seats." She taunts.

Kevin: "Don't antagonize her Rainbow Dash."

Trixie Lulamoon: "The Great and Powerful Trixie is the most talented girl at Canterlot High. It is I who deserves to be in the finals and I will not be denied!" She says and snaps her fingers to which one of her bandmates pulls her on a lever nearby.

Before Kevin and the Rainbooms could react, the trapdoor beneath us was open and all of us fall down to the storage room below the amphitheatre stage.

All except Spike and Sunshine who were playing cards behind a speaker playing before they moves out of the speaker and sees what happens which  the two of them rush off to find help.

Trixie Lulamoon: "See you never!" She laughs evilly as the trapdoor closes, trapping me and the Rainbooms in the storage room which Kevin was angry that he still heard Trixie laugh evilly which he was annoyed and start yelling at her.

Kevin: "YAKAMASHI TRIXIE, YOU ARE FREAKING ANNOYING!"

That cause Trixie's eyes widen and she started shaking in fear and she stand still along with her friends.

Trixie & her friends: "Sorry sir."

Meanwhile the Dazzlings watch everything that has happened and smirk evilly.

Adagio Dazzle: "Told you someone would give theme a shove."

Sonata Dusk: "She didn't shove them. She pulled a lever." She said which made Adagio facepalm and Aria roll her eyes.

Aria Blaze: "Go back to sleep Sonata and Adagio, shouldn't we be worried about that Kevin guy? Won't he use his magic to get him and the Rainbooms out of the storage room?"

Adagio Dazzle: "Don't worry about it. I  drew an anti-magic circle in the storage room way before Kevin and the Rainbooms were here so they aren't getting out anytime soon." She smirked.

Kevin and the Rainbooms were getting up from off of the floor.

Pinkie Pie: "I can't believe Trixie would be so mean!"

Applejack: "When I get my hand on her, I'm a teach her a lesson."

Rarity: "But you yell at her to stop laughing right Kevin darling?"

Kevin: "Yeah I don't like annoying people."

Fluttershy: "Ummm, the door's locked." She said as she tried to open the exit.

Rainbow Dash: "Hey Kevin, can you use your Dragon slayer magic to get us out of here?"

Kevin: "Let me try." I said and tried to use my fire Dragon's roar.

Kevin: "FIRE DRAGON ROAR!" I yelled but not happened. "My Dragon slayer magic isn't working!" I said worried.

Sunset Shimmer: "Try slashing the door with your sword?"

I nodded and try to summon a sword but it didn't work too.

Kevin: "There's gotta be a way out of here." I thought then I got an idea.

Kevin: "Girls I got an idea you need to stay back as far as you can!" I said to the Rainbooms and they move back near the wall.

Then my arm was stretch and I shouted.

Kevin: "GUM-GUM PISTOL!" I yelled then I hit the door but my arm turned red when I hit the exit door.

Kevin: "Ow dang it that is made out of metal." I said in pain.

Pinkie Pie knock the door.

Pinkie Pie: "Yep the door is made out of metal."

Kevin: "Twilight why can I smash the door?"

Twilight Sparkle: "I think I know why, look." She said pointing down to the floor, showing a huge circle with strange symbols in it.

Sunset Shimmer: "Oh no! It's an anti-magic circle!" She said extremely worried.

Kevin: "Anti-magic circle?"

Sunset Shimmer: "It's special type of magic circle where those who are trapped in it can't use magic. Kevin, as  long as your in the circle, you can't use your dragon slayer magic." She explained which shocked me.

Kevin: "I can't use my dragon slayer magic and my summoning jutsu!"

Rainbow Dash: "Yeah but you're had that stretching powers but what kind of powers was that?"

Kevin: "That was my gum-gum powers it make my body made out of rubber and there's one devil fruit power that I had."

Applejack: "What's the second one Kev?"

Kevin: "The second devil fruit called the flame-flame fruit it helps me to control fire."

Rarity: "Wow that's great but how can this circle be here?"

Kevin: "Someone must have been here and draw the anti-magic circle and I'm betting the Dazzlings are behind this and that can only mean one thing, they must know I had superpowers."

Kevin: "I use my animal sense the Dazzlings have magic so they might possess the same ability and that's not all, I saw them sing to Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna before they announced us as the finalists."

Sunset Shimmer: "I saw them too, I think they manipulated Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna so they you guys would be in the finals."

Kevin: "And I bet they convinced Trixie and her band to trap us here once we arrived."

Fluttershy: "But why though?"

Kevin: "I don't know but we trapped in here so we need to wait until someone finds us."

Twilight Sparkle: "Spike and Sunshine were back on stage so they might have saw us fall in so they must have gone to get help."

Kevin: "Then let's hope they can find someone to get us out of here before it's too late." I said, hoping they I wouldn't all be too late to stop the Dazzlings.
