Ch17: U.A. Entrance Exam

(3rd POV - U.A. High School - 45 minutes until U.A. Entrance Exams)

Erika let out a quite growl as trekked down the halls to the room for the written portion of the recommendation exam.

There was still at least 15 minutes before class started but she had been informed most of examinees had arrived, some trailing behind with the cut off time being in five minutes. Nothing she had to worry about as she saw the  room up ahead.

Would have been there earlier if for Nezu dragging her to the side. Being told that she couldn't break down into spores the entire portion of the physical exam and not to whack or snap at the other examinees with her vines if they irritated her.

She was fine with the latter condition, not so much with the former.

Erika could understand why and there was someone else with a Quirk with a similar ability yet much less refined to breaking into spores. They had been told something similar as well, though her own ability was probably a guaranteed win for the physical courses.

Even with getting used to her new body and training with Izuku, just like her Kaiju form speed wasn't exactly her own forte without the spores. She could managed, yet was an irritation to her.

She let out a small growl at that before shaking her head while standing infont of the door.

While a minor grievance, it was something Erika would get over.

Attending the exams was already a formality already at this point, but if Izuku was going to give it his all than so would she!

Erika took a breath as she grabbed the door handle.

"Here goes nothing." Erika said before pulling the door open, trying to not to slam it open.

Mostly successful as the door made a soft thud as it hit the wall, getting the other examinees attention along with Ectoplasm as he smirked as she entered the room.

"Right on time Takegumi, now I can assume you know where your seat is." He said, getting Erika to nod as she closed the door. This time slamming it shut with a vine extending from her back.

"I do." Erika said, getting Ectoplasm to shake his head as the door closed with an even louder thud this time.

"For the future Takegumi please try to have a little more tact with the door, otherwise take your seat. We shall begin soon." Ectoplasm said, getting Erika to let out a soft growl while nodding.

Retracting her vine Erika walked to her seat, noticing she still had some attention on her. Some she didn't quite like.

Sprouting another vine from her back which snapped at the air while letting off a series of soft growls in her throat at the reactions and got some of them to back off.

Ectoplasm just shook his head, trying to hide a small grin...which admittedly very difficult for him to do.

Seeing most of the leers back off, Erika retracted her vine as she took her seat and brought out her supplies for the exam in the schoolbag Inko had gotten her.

At least it was red and not green...

"I'm glad that you are here, most of us got here around the same time." Someone said to her, Erika turning to see the speaker was a young woman with black, spiked hair with most of it tied in a ponytail at the desk next to her.

Before seeing her press a hand against her mouth in thought.

"Although I do know that myself and some others were nearly delayed due to villain attacks or carjackings. I've heard there has been a spike in the latter here." She said.

"Can confirm that, saw one being stopped on my way here." Erika said while holding back a growl.

All Might had nearly parked to deal with someone dumb enough to do so with a hammer in broad daylight. A police car pulled up and officers caught him the moment he pulled in to park.

"I see." The examinee said before shaking her head, looking embarrassed. "Where are my manners, my name is Momo Yaoyorozu. It is nice to meet you."

Erika looked at her smiling face before smile a little.

"Erika Takegumi, nice to meet you too." She said, getting Yaoyorozu to nod.

"Takegumi if I may ask was it necessary for that display earlier?" Yaoyorozu asked, getting Erika to sigh.

"Wanted them to stop looking at me like that." Erika said, getting Yaoyorozu to nod.

"I see." She said with a look of understanding on her face before shaking her head. "Still if it isn't rude for me to ask, are your vines sprouting from your body? I don't see-"

"They do, can split most of my entire body apart. I take it you have an interest in Quirks than." Erika asked, getting Yaoyorozu to look away.

"Somewhat." She said, getting Erika to smile.

"Wouldn't mind talking more about it." Erika said, getting Yaoyorozu to look at her. "Of course after the exams that is."

Both looked to see Ectoplasm create a clone that exited the room while the main body began to shuffle up the test papers.

Yaoyorozu thought about Erika's words for a few moments before smiling.

"I believe I will take you up on that offer." Yaoyorozu said before blinking. "By the way have we met previously? I feel like I have seen you somewhere before."

"No, but I'm sure you did. Maybe it will come to you later." Erika said with a shrug, figuring she had probably seen the video of Izuku's fight last week.

If it wouldn't have upset him and gotten in trouble if only she could have gotten her vines on them...

"Probably." Yaoyorozu said with a nod before facing the front as Ectoplasm created more clones and began to hand the  stacks of paper.

Erika looked at her before shaking her head with a smile.

She didn't expect to meet someone similar to Izuku here, Yaoyorozu seemed nice enough. Perhaps she should introduce them after the exams...

(Izuku POV - 15 Minutes until U.A. Entrance Exam)

I stared at the entrance gate as people kept passing me while I took a deep breath trying to ease my nerves.

W-Wasn't helping that much...even after 10 months of preparing I was still pretty nervous...but from here on out it was the first real step towards my dream to be a hero.

With a nod I stepped and joined the dwindling crowd on our way to the General Entrance Exams. Erika should have started the written portion of the Recommendation Exams. They were supposedly shorter than the General Exams but even more difficult.

Should be no problem for her.

No matter what she had been giving it her all studying and catching up on what she missed. The both of us were going to...wait...

That smell...

Kacchan!

"Move!"  Bakugou growled out, with myself stepping aside as he began to pass. Taking a quick glare at me before shaking his head. "You stay the hell out of my way and I'll stay out of yours, got it Deku?"

"O-Of course." I said nervously, getting Bakugou to frown before walking past me.

Letting out a sigh of relief as he disappeared into the crowd, hearing murmurs of the Slime Villain incident.

S-Somewhat civil of Kacchan at least, but he's been avoiding me for a few days now.

T-Though I do hope to not be on the same Examination Grounds with him. With all the mutters of the Slime Villain Incident it would only upset him further.

Kacchan had began to calm down towards others at Aldera the last time we went to school, yet it  was still better not to be around when he goes off. He would have plenty of chances to do so at the Exam and I hope to not be around to see it...

I shook my head clear at those thoughts and quickened my pace a little as I heard some whispers of people recognizing me from the Kuregā Street incident.

G-Going to take me a while still to get used to that. Quickening my pace and taking a few breaths to calm myself as I continued on my way.

Taking my first real steps to-

I lost my train of thought as one foot was caught behind the other and I tripped!

This is it...really hoping my subdermal plating holds up...

Bracing myself for impact and closing my eyes.

Yet nothing happened...in fact I suddenly found myself feeling rather light...what?

"Sorry about using my Quirk on you so suddenly, are you alright?"  I heard a girl say as I began to struggle as I found myself floating in the air. Some kind of gravity or telekinetic Quirk? "Here let me help."

I her grab my backpack before gently putting me onto the ground.

"T-Thank you-" I said turning to look at her, my face heating up at seeing the girl.

S-She was about half a head shorter than me with auburn hair framing her face in a bob, smiling at me with her cheeks seemed to have a permanent blush. Wearing a brown winter jacket buttoned up, a pink scarf around her neck, and black skirt and leggings.

S-She was cute...wait what?

"It's alright, I just wanted to make sure that you didn't trip up before the exams. That would have been bad luck." The girl said, seeming unaware as I tried to regain my composure as shook my head before finding myself starting to float up again. "Release!"

The girl brought both of her hands together and I caught a glimpse of pads on her fingers before I felt gravity effect me again and landed on my feet.

"Sorry for using it on you, not many people like having losing their gravity so suddenly." The girl said.

"I-It's alright." I said, before noticing that indeed she did have pads on her fingertips.

Kind of like some animals, considering she had to touch me her Quirk is probably some kind of tactile based gravikinetic Quirk considering she specified me losing my gravity. The effect of making an object weightless through touch and one she seems to have to touch an object for it to work. Seeming to close her fingers together to return a gravitational pull to an object. There had to be some kind of limit...

"Where did you get that notebook and what are you talking about?" The girl said, breaking me out of my thoughts. Getting my face to flush as I closed up my notebook.

I-I did it again...

"S-Sorry, it's just that I like to analyze Quirks." I said while looking away, getting her to nod before I noticed something on her scarf. "A-Are you a fan of Thirteen?"

The girl looked at a patch on her scarf to see it resembled Thirteen's helmet before her auburn eyes seemed to gleam with happiness while smiling.

"Yes, I want to be a rescue hero like her! It's nice to meet someone else who knows her, and she's even a teacher here!" The girl said, looking like she seemed to bounce in excitement as I nodded and pulled out my notebook again.

"Looking forward to that as well, her Blackhole Quirk makes her an excellent rescue hero and her control of it is nothing short of amazing. I have some notes written in here somewhere." I said before pausing.

D-Did I just offer her to show her my notebook...

I-I suppose it's because she really seeemsmearnest for her admiration of Thirteen...

J-Just this is the first time I have been willing to show someone at least around my age...

"You don't have to show them if you don't feel like it." The girl said, breaking me out of my thoughts to see her smiling at me while leaning in a bit closer.

"I-It's alright." I said, trying to regain my composure. "T-That is if you don't mind."

"Maybe later, the exams are going to start soon." The girl said, getting me to look around.

Not that many people walking around or through the entrance gate. Still some time left before they start, but we needed to hurry.

"S-Sure, we could talk about it later if you want. But if you would like to discuss your Quirk too as well, I think that it's pretty interesting as well." I said with a wide smile.

Only for her cheeks to redden even more and look away.

W-Was it something I said?

"I-I would like that to, but I think we should be getting to the exams now. Good luck on yours!" She said, hurriedly waving goodbye as she headed towards the entrance.

"Y-You too." I said with a small smile while still confused before shaking my head clear.

Could worry about it later, perhaps she was just worried about the exams as well...

(3rd POV)

"So pure..." Ochaco Uraraka said, looking back and seeing how bright his smile was.

Before shaking her head to clear her thoughts as she walked through the entrance.

(Izuku POV)

Hopefully I could see her later.

B-Between talking with her, Mikami yesterday,  Koda and Akatani the other day, I was getting better at talking to others I wasn't quite familiar with. Still needed a lot of work on it though...

Taking a breath, I felt my spines briefly stretching under my back before going down and continue my walk to the entrance.

After so long my dream to become a hero is so clear, just one more hurdle to overcome before it come a reality.

Ten months, ten months of preparation and of so many people helping me make it here. Wouldn't have been able to make it here without them...and I couldn't be thankful enough for them.

Stepping into the entrance I began to walk to my assigned examine room with a a determined look on my face.

For today it was the first major step for both me and Erika to become a hero.

(3rd POV - Cangshan Mountains - Yunnan Province, China - 42 minutes later)

"Dr. Shí please slow down!"

"Keep up Agent Wright, we are almost there!" A woman in hiking gear called out, a boney tail peaking out the back and boney ridges framing her short black hair. Waving as she disappeared behind a rock face.

Her partner, a taller young man with very long brown hair and horn rimmed glasses with the right lens blackened sighed at her enthusiasm.

"Why did Director Chen green lit her going to check her hypothesis, or assign me to her. It's always me." Agent Wright sighed out as he ran after her.

Despite her being at least a decade older and that was all she was willing to admit and vastly smarter, it was usually him assigned to be Dr. Shí's minder. Than again with her tender to run off all over Asia whenever she comes up with a hypothesis.

Monarch just needed someone who could keep up with her.

It had been four days since the Fortuna Kaiju's emergence and Director Serizawa's orders to recheck all previous ruins or site connected to Kaiju.

They had been assigned to check along with a lot more of Monarch's personal to investigate the ruins of the Temple of the Moth in the Yunnan Province. Last recorded hatching place of Mothra before there had been no sign of any more of them since the battle with Gorjira and Battra four years before the Age of Kaiju ended.

Nearly after four days of searching Dr. Shí had found a carving that resembled a spot along the Cangshan Mountains that had been long since abandoned since the Age of Quirks started and fallen into disrepair.

Where a temple entrance had been discovered and would have been broken into or destroyed by the Chinese government as it was before everything went to hell when Quirks suddenly appeared all over the globe.

Forgetting about the site and doing their best to bury the information, which admittedly took Monarch about half a day to decrypt everything after Dr. Shí's discovery.

It was to hide that the temple, well more of a shrine was dedicated to Mothra. One of some locations around the world where a government had tried to destroy a heritage site shown to connected to a Kaiju after their age ended.

Been illegal since then by the UN and heavily enforced.

Some tried, some succeed, some tried to cover up, all paid the price.

At least Agent Wright was thankful that no one has purposely done something so idiotic since the Age of Quirks had mostly calmed down.

This shrine from what the carving and file were found was that it wasn't a temple as grand as the Temple of the Moth was, but made on a much smaller scale and probably on the same people too.

Located at least 90 meters above the closest into a mountain on a steep slope on a dangerous pass that Wright had to consider nearly impassable by pre Quirk standards, still pretty difficult but much less likely to fall to your death now.

That and passed the entrance was a blockade of rocks crudely cemented together, yet records of muon scanning by the Chinese had shown that there was still a massive chamber behind the rock. The builders most likely sealing it up in the first place.

Assuming how much of it hasn't collapsed further in nearly 200 years...

He had to give the team who discovered this place credit for making it this far.

With enough evidence Director Chen had green lit everything and Dr. Shí had taken off once everything had been prepared.

Leaving the rest of the team about 2.3 kilometers down the trail last he checked.

Agent Wright breathed out a sigh once he saw her awing at the entrance, examining something from what he could see. Her tail wrapping around a flashlight before bringing it to her hand.

Good news was that she was staying still for a moment.

Bad news was there was still about 15 meters of a very thin pathway carved into the mountain.

It was going to be a bitch to move the heavy equipment through here later...

Wright sighted as he made the trek down the path, nearly slipping halfway through before reaching her. The Monarch researcher nearly stepped through the entrance as he cleared his throat.

"Dr. Shí, I can understand your enthusiasm but please wait until the rest of the team catches up. Last I saw Agent Xue was catching his breath which is a first as he never shuts up otherwise." Agent Wright said, getting Shí to hold back a chuckle. "The rest of the team is still about 2 kilometers back, so please wait a minute. Besides we need the equipment and man power to remove the rocks."

Even with his own Quirk he was sure that there could be a chance he could accidentally bring down .

"I know, I know yet there is already enough here at the entrance." Dr. Shí said as she walked into the entrance, Agent Wright turning on his flashlight as her tail began to stretch and knock along the blockade. "Tell me how familiar are you with Kaiju and inspirtation on Chinese mythology?"

"Somewhat, do know Mothra is possibly the inspiration for Léizû or also known as Cángū. Goddess of silkworms and sericulture and wife of Huangdi." Agent Wright said as trained his flashlight on one side of the walls, seeing a mural  of Mothra that took up most of it.

A nod to her as a seemingly divine mouth, though he had no idea of the relationship to the supposed divine ancestor of the Chinese except another sign of her supposed divinity.

Considering just how otherworldly that Kaiju was since discovered on Infant Island there is no easy way to refute that...much less the Shobijin...

"Got it in one, although she is also known as Cánmû and there is another silkworm diety." Dr. Shí said with a grin, her tail continuing to tap away. "But interesting enough Cánmû is revered primary in north and eastern China. Check the compass compared to the carving."

Wright just shrugged, humoring her before blinking.

"Well I'll be damned." He said, looking at the compass to see the mural of Mothra was directly in between north and east.

"Yup, and look at this wall for the other half of the main Cánshén, Qīngyīshén or also known as Cāngōng. Patron god and first ruler of Ancient Shu." Shí said, turning her flashlight onto the other wall.

There it held a mural of the Battra perfectly aligned with the one of Mothra.

"Which would later become part of Qing and later Sìchuān Province, in southwest China and not that far from here. Battra being a possible inspiration. Just more parallels between the two." Agent Wright said, looking to see Dr. Shì grinning at him. "Didn't know about the association with silkworms for Qīngyīshén though. But I take it you think there might be another temple dedicated just to Battra."

The Temple of the Moth was due northeast from here, following the same pattern there was possibly a temple of Battra southwest from here.

"Can't promise anything other than ruins but it is a valid hypothesis. Still I can't wait to crack this open to see what secrets the Cánshén Temple holds." Dr. Shí said, her tail still tapping before looking at Agent Wright. "No protests about the name?"

"You found the place and the Chinese government never bothered to name it. So it's fair game." Wright said, getting her to pout.

"Dang it." She muttered, hoping for more of a reaction.

"Could do without the tapping, what are you trying to do anyway?" He asked. The noise was starting to get on his nerves.

Before Dr. Shí could say anything, part of the blockade chipped where her tail struck. Grinning before she took her flashlight onto the spot.

Recoiling her tail as she rushed over to look through the chipped spot.

Agent Wright looked at her inquisitively before her tail stretched and wrapped around the top of his head.

"Not again..." He sighed out as Shí pulled him towards the blockade. "I am not breaking down the blockade until the entire team is here."

"Just going to ask you to widen the crack here, just one try so we can at least get a peak in." Dr. Shí before turning to face him. "Please?"

He tried to resist, Agent Wright has been trying to resist those accursed eyes so they would one day not work on him.

Sadly today was not that day.

"Fine, just take a step back. Anything else and I'll contact Director Shen." Wright said as the two of them stepped back. Shí taking a few more steps than he did.

"Yes." She quietly cheered as Agent Wright sighed and stretched his hands.

Taking a deep breath before his forearms and hand shifted into a shovel like tool similar to the back digger of a backhoe. Triangular shaped at the end with a few layers of plating on one side and several teeth.

Pressing both diggers together before shoving them into the crack, punching a hole in the blockade before shoveling some of the fallen parts before shifting one digger into a large curving  hook with an end similar to a rock pick.

Widening the hole just a bit as he struck the blockade, shifting his hands back to normal before his eyes widened at what he saw.

"I'm going to make a call." Agent Wright said as he stepped back as Dr. Shí peered through the hole and grinned.

"Go ahead, we are definitely going to need the rest of the team." She said as he dialed on his phone.

Letting it ring for a minute before someone picked up.

"Agent Wright...please tell me you are with Dr. Shí..?" Someone panted from the other end.

"I am, we are at the shrine's entrance. Are you okay Agent Xue?" Wright asked, getting the agent on the other end to groan.

"Never should have taken that cheat week...other than that yes. Rest of the team is somewhat exhausted but we are about 0.7 kilometers from the shrine's location...so she was right. Yet I take it...you are calling besides a check up..." Agent Xue panted out

"Affirmative, you are the senior agent here. I'm going to need the clearance to contact Director Serizawa." Agent Wright said, getting the other absent to splutter on the end.

"W-What? I have nothing against it, by why?" Agent Xue said, getting Agent Wright to sigh.

"Dr. Shí was right, the shrine is dedicated to Mothra and Battra...but there is evidence of other Kaiju here. Including one that neither of us recognize." He said as he stood next to Dr. Shí to get another look of the mural inside.

On the Mothra side of the shrine through the hole the two saw a mural of multiple of two Kaiju species fighting alongside a Mothra or two.

It looked to be multiple Gojira fighting some kind of large three horned Kaiju. There were a lot less of them than Gojira, but they were winning.

Something other than against ancient depictions of Ghidora, they had never seen such success against the Gojira species before.

(3rd POV - U.A. High School - Locker Rooms Entrance - An hour and 35 minutes after Entrance Exams started.)

Erika stretched out her vines as the Recommendation examinees milled to the location where they would be hosted for the physical portion of the exams before breaking off to the locker rooms.

Basking in the feeling of the sun on her vines after being cooped up for the written portion before she started to retract some of them back into her body as Yaoyorozu watched curiously.

"I had thought that your Quirk was photosynthetic, but I didn't think that it would be like this." She said, getting Erika to shrug as she retracted the rest of her vines into her backs and arms. The arms sealing back up while she flexed her fingers.

"Nothing compared to mornings." Erika said, getting her to nod as they entered the female locker rooms

The young woman had occasional asking questions to Erika and she had done so in return, with the former figuring out there was more to her appearance than some plant based mutation Quirk. Along with insisting to drop it.

Especially when she sprouted thorn like fangs from her checking in irritation and scared someone who wouldn't stop starring at the both of them. Something of which Yaoyorozu was thankful for, but raised another question.

One by which the glare Erika wore briefly after retracting her fangs Yaoyorozu was not willing to ask just yet.

She didn't have to wait long as they entered the female locker rooms and Erika began to remove her shirt as they began to change into clothes better suited for the practical portion of the exam.

Seeing that Erika's stomach's appearance was sac like, only one thing came to mind for a comparison.

"You know I had a feeling it with those fangs earlier, but your Quirk is definitely like Biollante!." Someone spoke up excitedly, getting Erika to growl as a vine emerged from her lower back.

Snapping and banging it on a locker, getting Yaoyorozu and nearly everyone around them to flinch.

The speaker was a detached, floating mouth whose grin turned into a frown before it floated back to a young girl with long, wavy moss green hair who looked to be a head shorter than Yaoyorozu.

"Don't compare me to that Kaiju, I've had enough of it for a lifetime." Erika growled, getting the girl to wave up and detached her hands in a placating motion.

"Sorry, didn't know that it was that sensitive. Never heard of a Kaiju aspect Quirk like that before. Could have done without the vine though." The girl said as Erika retracted her vine.

"Working on it, do have a problem lashing out." Erika said, not ashamed to admit that before shaking her head. "Kaiju fan I take it."

The girl flashed her a grin, showing all of her teeth were fang like.

"Yup, but a bigger fan for the saurian Kaiju." The girl said, getting Erika to frown.

"Hopefully your preference doesn't include that three headed salamander?" Erika said with a small growl.

To which that girl let out a laugh.

"Good one! I mean Ghidorah is cool and all, but I prefer the original King of the Kaiju." She said, with Erika grunting in response. "Anyway see you around the next portion of the exam."

She disappeared around the row of lockers, a detached hand waving before floating back away.

"Well she was interesting." Erika sighed out with a growl.

"Indeed." Yaoyorozu said while shaking her head. "I had already figured out what she had figured out, but I wasn't sure. I could imagine it's not something you like to project."

"Got that right and thanks for that. Still getting used to being around others after so long." Erika said, the latter part was said quietly.

But Yaoyorozu still heard what she said and began to think on why Erika seemed familiar to her. With the pieces quickly knitting themselves together in her mind before her eyes widened.

Looking at Erika in concern.

"I remember now, you were from that video from earlier this week. The one from Kuregā Street incident, you broke out of a hospital to help the student who was attacked. Are you okay enough to be participating in the exams." Yaoyorozu asked.

Flinching a little at the look Erika gave her. Only to be surprised when the later smiled.

"Just a long standing issue with my condition that has been treated, still better than ever. Still thank you for asking, it's nothing to worry about. Just something that would have taken a long time to fester." Erika said as she continued to get changed.

Well it was mostly true, minus she probably would have gone a month ago and that damned parasite would still be around.

Biting back a growl on what it would have done to Izuku had it continued to infect her.

Shaking her head at the thoughts before changing into a black and maroon track suit with a dark green shirt.

Yaoyorozu  sighed out as she started to change as well, into a white shirt with a red trim and running shorts.

"I'm just glad you're doing better now Erika, though I would have thought the both of you would be in the recommendation exams?" She asked.

"He's in the entrance exams, but I know no matter what the exam he'll make it in. He's been working hard for this." Erika said with a smile.

"You sound rather fond of him, I would imagine since you broke out of a hospital for him." Yaoyorozu said, Erika's smile widening.

"He's my hero, and made me happy about my condition. Inspiring me to become a hero to others like he was too me." Erika said while shaking her head. "Honestly Yaoyorozu, you and Izuku are a lot alike."

"Really?" Yaoyorozu asked as she tilted her head.

"You're both smart, kind, and want to be heros to help others. Your concern both now and before the written exam was more than enough proof of that. The both already act like one already." She said, getting Yaoyorozu to look away with a flushed face. "I think that you two could get along well."

From what she had seen from the video, this Izuku certainly acted like a hero. Protecting the crowd as best he could from the villains and showed reluctance to fight them at first. Trying to reason with them before defending himself.

And Erika seemed to think pretty highly of him...

"Perhaps if I have time after the exams, going to double check. Otherwise I would like to see your friend then Erika." Yaoyorozu said, getting Erika to shrug.

"Fine either way with me, it at least should be interesting." Erika said, a growl emerging from her throat.

Already picturing Izuku's reaction to meeting her, and probably how happy he would be to have someone else to talk Quirks or anything else with. Well close to his age at least or didn't set off their instincts just from being around them.

Erika shook her head before noticing some of the examinees leaving the locker room.

Well she was already ready.

"Ready Yaoyorozu?" Erika asked as a vine spread from her shoulder placed her bag into a locker.

"I'll be out in few moments." She said, getting Erika to nod as she walked towards the door.

Pausing in her steps briefly as she matched her gaze with another girl.

A taller, heterochromatic girl who seemed to just be a head shorter than Erika, her shoulder length hair half white and half red. But what caught her attention the most was along the burn scar among the left side of her face was her cold glare.

Both of them seized each other up before Erika let out a small growl and the girl a slight nod before they went their separate ways.

Erika briefly wondering just what was that about before clearing her heads of those thoughts.

The next stage of the exams was starting soon.

(Izuku POV  -  An U.A. Exam Room -  An hour and 38 minutes after Entrance Exams started)

I let out a sigh of relief as I took my number for the next portion of the exam and entered the hallway. One of the few that was currently walking through the hallways to get changed and head to the auditorium.

I was one of the first to exit my class and I know there a lot more exiting into the hallways soon.

Plenty of time to make a note of the various Quirks I had managed to glimpse before everything started. Well it was only some speculation since I could only base of what I could see. Such as one of the examinees in the room next to me had what looked like to have organic cylindrical tape dispensers for elbows.

Was that just it or could it produce a tape like substance from his body? And given the placement and shape of his elbows could his Quirk also cause him to bend his arms back in both directions?

There were so many details about Quirks that I could grasp from sight alone, but like with most crowded locations probably won't get a chance to analyze them.

A-And I'm not really used to being in a pretty large one for too long.

Would probably get a better chance when classes come around...

Still more time to analyze later Quirks, I need to prepare and try to see if I could spot Koda or the nice girl from earlier.

Didn't see them in the exam room so there was probably a good chance I could spot them in the auditorium or at our exam grounds. Probably wouldn't be much of a chance to see them here in the hallway if they had finished or not.

Even if I couldn't see them or not I do hope they would pass the exams too...

I was soon broken from my thoughts after bumping into someone.

"I-I'm sorry about that." I said, looking at who I bumped into.

"Apology accepted." The bestial looking student said. He appeared to be my height if a small bit taller than me with shaggy brown hair all over his body. Two large canines sticking out of his lower jaw and small, rectangular glass with thick frames that I couldn't see his eyes behind. "If I might inquire, have I seen you somewhere?"

S-So he had seen the video as well...

"Indeed." He said, getting me to sigh. "I believe that you didn't mean to say that out loud."

"N-No I didn't." I sighed, getting him to nod. "Still not used to people knowing me from there?"

"Which I believe will take time for you to do so, especially with a Kaiju Quirk." The boy said, getting me to blink.

H-How did he figure it out, unless...

"Y-Your Quirk grants you enhanced senses too?" I asked, getting the taller boy to nod as we began to walk down the hallway.

"Quite astute good sir, I have a nose for these kind of things." The boy said, before looking away. "And I often visited the Kaiju Memorial Museum when I was a kid. I remember those days and scents fondly. Enough to recognize your Quirk has traces I'm familiar with."

"I-I do know it is part Gojira, not sure what else." I said somewhat truthfully, getting him to nod and hoping he didn't pry much further.

Don't think I've visited the museum out of field trips, Tokyo was a bit away and located in the Gojira Ward.

With the term 'ward' applied loosely, it was just the battleground of Gojira and Destoroyah. No one permanently lived in the location afterwards and was named a ward of Tokyo just for it's size. It being recognized as a World Heritage Site for being the place where the Age of Kaiju ended.

Probably having some connection with Monarch considering the nature of the Gojira Ward...probably should ask about it later.

"And that heinous crook had the brilliant idea to repeatedly antagonize someone with such a Quirk?" The tall boy asked incredulously.

"I-I'm a late bloomer...that and he acted like that to most people he didn't particularly like. H-Honestly it all started cause tried to attack me and someone else to get back at someone. Shiten had it all and I tried so many times to get him to back down..." I sighed out while shaking my head.

"In the end the cur became a villain and injured himself. Even after everything you still wished to help him." The tall boy asked as we began to walk down the hallway.

T-Too which I just nodded shakily.

"S-Still wish that I could have tried to get him to back off. but he is too stubborn otherwise. C-Can't save everyone nor do they want too...but that won't mean I won't try to help them." I said, thinking of the words All Might said to me a while ago.

The tall boy looked at me for a second before smiling.

"You my good sir certainly have your heart in the right place. Now how about I introduce myself. My name is  Jurota Shishida, what might your name be?" He asked while holding out his hand.

Staring at it for a moment before slowly reaching out to shake it.

"I-Izuku Midoriya.  I-It's nice to meet you too Shishida." I said, getting him to nod.

"Well than Sir Midoriya I have to say you have the heart of a hero if you wished to save even villains." Shishida said, getting me to smile and looked away.

"T-That's why I wanted to become a hero, to help people. To reassure everyone that everything will be alright." I said.

"Like All Might, your dream is certainly a noble one Sir Midoriya. I'm certain you will become an exceptional hero one day." Shishida said.

"H-Hopefully you will too...that is if we can pass the exams." I said.

"Fair enough, it would seem we arrived at the locker rooms." Shishida said as we stopped walking, turning down a hallway to see numerous male examinees entering into a hallway and some coming out in track clothes and heading towards the auditorium. "In case we don't see each other on the exam grounds, I wish you well Sir Midoriya."

"Y-You too Shishida." I said as he nodded before heading into the locker room first.

He seemed nice like Koda was, hope I can see him again too.

I was getting better at talking to others around my age these days, still I had a lot to work on it. Thankfully they all were pretty nice too. Hopefully I could talk with some of them again soon...

Shaking my head clear I took in a breath before steeling myself and walking into the locker room.

Almost there, just a few more steps and I'll be at the starting line. Just a little bit more and I'll finally be there...

(3rd POV - Monarch Shiragami Research Outpost - An hour and 50 minutes after Entrance Exams started)

"Going to have to talk to Director Serizawa about some of these suggestions to be stationed here." Yujiro sighed out as he looked on a tablet.

"Take it up with Aoki too, pretty sure he recommended them too." Alfred said, his voice mimicking his sister's voice and getting the hematologist to shudder.

Wondering why he was tasked with keeping an eye on the Ashford twins before remembering technically until he was relocated to the Aomori Prefecture base that he was the third in command.

Kazuma was with Nezu as a judge for the exams and so was Aoki although he was also busy with the news of what was just discovered in China. While also serving as a judge with power loader for the Support Course Entrance Exams that had finished awhile ago.

Smelling of smoke and muttering something about a pink haired gremlin. Alfred got a laugh out of it before being smacked on the head by Alexia.

Aoki changed his clothes and took back off to U.A. while leaving him to look after the twins again.

At the very least they were occupied, Alfred working on class work and Alexia was engrossed herself in reading the research notes from Dr. Shiragami on his creation of the Shiragami Compound. Under supervision of course.

Yujiro would prefer to be anywhere but here, yet someone needed to be her minder. Thankfully there had been no moments of being Alexia being...Alexia since she had been in Japan.

Except for maybe cutting her finger while experimenting with Erika's blood the moment Alfred looked away from her for a split second. From all blood work he conflicted it seemed like nothing was more abnormal about her blood than last recorded. Still had to make sure over the next view days anyway.

Already had enough accidentally altered humans running around with his niece.

Yujiro had the foresight to ask his mother to keep an extra eye on Himiko as he was pretty sure that despite promising, she would try and follow him today or sneak into U.A..

But she was also deathly afraid of her grandmother's cane to risk anything...hopefully just in case. He didn't hear anything so things were all good on that front.

At the very least he needed to have a talk with Aoki and the suggestions made to be staffed at the outpost. Like trying to put both Agents Sakaki and Tani here was perhaps not the best idea currently.

Whoever decided that didn't hear what happened last month...

"Curious." Alexia said, breaking Yujiro out of his through two with a shudder as she saw the blonde flipping through the notes.

"What would that be sister?" Alfred asked, looking past his laptop.

"Near the missing page, the a date coincides with the termination of Dr. Mizuno's from Monarch. Afterwards the development of the first iteration of the Shiragami Compound stagnated immensely until samples ran out." Alexia said, to which Yujiro shook his head.

"He was the main assistant, for the later years of the project. Pointed out the same thing to Mifune when he asked me about it." Yujiro said.

He had more experience in Monarch than Mifune did, yet Dr. Mizuno was publicly known as a pupil of Dr Shirgami taken in around 13 years after Erika's departure from Earth. A pretty good geneticist and was only second to Genichiro Shiragami in terms while he was alive.

Still from records evidently there was still quite a wide gap in between them.

Were among the first to be brought into Monarch and Mizuno was one of the first to quite years later, a major falling out between him and Dr. Shiragami. The cause was mostly over using the remaining samples of Erika to medical science instead of wasting it on the Shiragami Compound.

That the argument between the two that day went into the organization's legend even centuries later.

And apparently he had been secretly skimming off the top of funding to help the experiments go along.

The doctor was thrown in prison for a few years for the embezzlement before being released after Dr. Shiragami passed away.

After that it was public history, the main set up his own lab and made relevancy again after Quirks appeared. All while his actions were being looked under a microscope by Monarch incase he tried to pull anything else.

Only to end up dead three years into Quirks appearing across the globe, murdered in a burglary in his own home and took out one of the burglars himself via a shot to a leg artery. Dr. Mizuno was flayed alive.

It was known that two of the three burglars were Quirk users, one caught a year later and confessed. The other probably was but since peoples all the sudden began generating superpowers a lot of criminals became emboldened or turned to crime at the time records where lost. Or was probably killed off the books., not an uncommon occurrence.

Honestly the only other lab assistant Yujiro and Mifune knew was a Dr. Kobayashi who was also known in the public eye as Dr. Shiragami's successor.

After that and what the public knew he retired from genetics in his sixties, opened currently the longest run family dentistry, and was the last member of the founding staff of Monarch to have died at 118, 38 years into the age of Quirks.

The rest where only on records that were available or sealed, with no one knowing the whole truth until the notes became available again.

Still the circumstances that one of the Monarch's founding members was embezzling was a sore spot, but kept a known fact.

Yet sadly Dr. Mizuno's termination had also brought up one theory that they had long thought died out.

"Monarch had him locked up and observed everything connect to him for decades, his reputation in tatters and he knew what would happen if he told anyone about what he did. And you better than anyone how protective Dr. Shiragami was of Erika's samples Alexia." Yujiro said, getting the geneticist to nod.

"Fair point, yet something doesn't sit right with these results." She said before going back into the nods.

"Maybe you hold a point sister." Alfred said. "Maybe not from this Dr. Mizuno if anything did happen. Wouldn't be the first time Monarch has gone against it's guidelines. It took Grandpappy Martin and Serizawa to unseal things even they didn't know from when the world went to hell over Quirks."

With that he grinned and leaned back in his chair.

"Now then Yujiro, still think their might not be a chance?" He asked, kicking his feet up on the coffee table. Quickly putting them down at Alexia's glare.

Yujiro stared at them for a moment before sighing and pulling out his phone, quickly sending a text to Aoki.

As much as he hated to admit it Alfred might have a point. It took a lot for both Serizawa and the previous Director to unconverted sealed files on actions Monarch had committed that hidden to never see day light again.

So there was possibly a chance of more information being long hidden. If not it should end the rumor once and for all.

Better to prove it there was validity and Serizawa did have the organization leaving no stone unturned for any more Kaiju out there.

"I've run the suggestion by Aoki and it will sent to Serizawa. Probably will be a low priority, yet this should put an end on these rumors." Yujiro said, Alexia nodded while Alfred went back to his work.

"I doubt it!" He said in a singsong mimicking his sister before earning a smack from her.

Yujiro pinched the bridge on his nose before searching for parenting tips.

Secretly hoping that the twins were wrong, if they both agreed on something it usually didn't mean anything good.

Plus he dreaded how Erika would react when she found out about Dr. Mizuno had suggested. He wasn't sure Izuku could entirely prevent her from lashing out...

(U.A. Recommendation Exam Grounds - An hour and 56 minutes after Entrance Exams stared)

"Erika why do you still growling at your number?" Yaoyorozu asked while tilting her head.

"Just don't have the best association with it, please don't pry any further." Erika said, getting the ponytailed girl to nod.

Inwardly Erika swore that if Nezu had purposely set this up, she would throw everything she had been practicing with Hound Dog  aside and let her instincts do the talking.

The number she had been assigned was 89, Yaoyorozu had been given the number 61.

For the second and third portion of the exams was an 3 kilometer obstacle course that six at a time would go through, the faster your time the better you held a shot at for making a spot. Though it was an overall performance would be counted.

Afterwards was a series of quick interviews for the third and final portion of the exams, the results of all three would qualify you for the chance at U.A.. Of not a recommendation for another hero school.

Present Mic had been the announcer for the first line up and started before a clone of Ectoplasm took over. He should be at the auditorium for the General Entrance Exam soon, so should Izuku. He should be there and the details for his exam any moment now...

Erika hoped that he would be alright.

She knew he could pass, just that he would probably not be all that careful. Izuku seemed to have a habit of getting hurt even if he tried to prevent that...

"Attention, participant numbers 33, 54, 56, 74, 89, and 93 please line up at the starting line in a few minutes. I'll give you another warning before we begin, I suggest you all make the necessary preparations before then." Ectoplasm said through a megaphone.

Looking at the finish line they saw the last of the second band of examinees cross the finish line, before nearly collapsing into a pant

Erika let out a small growl at the noise before smirking as she allowed a pair of vines to slip out her back.

It would seem like it was almost time.

"You look more than ready for this Erika." Yaoyorozu said, getting Erika to shrug.

"Maybe, but it might be better to get a little more sun." Erika said, her vines letting off a small snap in response. To which Yaoyorozu just smiled at here.

"So it would seem, anyway I wish you luck out there." Yaoyorozu said.

"Thanks." Erika said with a smile as she stared at the starting line.

And she meant it.

While it was all but guaranteed, Erika was still going to give it her all.

(Izuku POV - Auditorium - 2 hours after Entrance Exams start)

The lights began to dim to near darkness, yet I could clearly see Present Mic walking up on the stage.

I-It was finally time, I was getting uneasy waiting for the orientation to start for...I lost track of time but it couldn't be more than at least 10 minutes.

T-The fact that I was surrounded by at minimum several hundred examinees that I didn't know and for some reason Kacchan was seated in the row behind me to the right didn't help. D-Doing nothing but  looking at the stage like everyone else.

E-Except for briefly glaring at me when I looked at him, quickly looking away.

W-With the monitor flaring to light behind him and the spotlights turning on, the orientation was beginning.

T-This was it.

"Welcome one and all to my live show! Now for all you examinees tuning in, can I get a hey!" Present Mic announced from a podium, using his Quirk to amplify his voice and getting me to wince from the volume. Noting several such reactions from the audience.

The echo of his voice died down, replaced by silence from the crowd.

No one from the audience saying a thing.

"Hey!"

Until someone called out, getting the audience's attention on the direction of the speaker.

H-Honestly if someone didn't say anything or Present Mic continued I probably would have said it...

Present Mic let out a laugh at that.

"I like your energy listener, as for everyone else what a refined response. It gave me a shiver down my spine." Present Mic said, giving a mock shudder before grinning. "Then how about I give you the rundown for the practical exam! Are you ready?"

"Yeah!!!"

Only for him more silence in response.

A-Aside from the ringing dying down in my ears I could barely contain my excitement and trying not to bounce up and down in my seat.

More than ready and motivated.

Kacchan let out a grumble as I calmed down, Present Mic continue down on.

"Listen closely now, you all will be conducting ten minute urban battles after this that will test your mettle!" He declared with outstretched arms as the monitor behind him changed.

Showing a spot marked 'You Are Here' before showing a web that lead to the connected seven exam grounds.

"You can bring whatever you need with you! After this presentation, you will be heading to the specific battle center you all will have on marked on your exam tickets, okay?" Present Mic asked as I flipped over said ticket as with most of the audience.

On it was my name, examination number, and the location of the battle center.

"Battle Center B." I muttered out.

"Okay?!" Present Mic asked again as I saw confusion among some of the people surrounding me.

Perhaps they were friends with each other, had allied previously before taking the practical exam, or just knew the person next to them previously?

The set up for this exam would limit such cooperation greatly, maybe another portion of the exams in general. You'll never know who you might have to interact with as a hero and could be thrown into a difficult situation at random and part of the exam is to see our response to such an event.

Maybe I'm overanalyzing it, but possible...

"Shut it." Kacchan said, breaking me out of my thoughts as I noticed the people surrounding me where looking at me.

"S-Sorry." I apologized before looking back at the stage.

"Now there are three types of faux villains located in the city. Each of them has a point depending on their level of difficulty." Present Mic said, the monitor showing the image of a city and the shadowy outlines in the corners depending on the points...

Wait a sec, they were using images of mobs from the Mario series.

I could only guess Present Mic was behind that himself. He did love Age of Kaiju era media.

I already knew what a one pointer truly looked like. Yet I wondered what the other two types were like? Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Yet there was something else I was beginning to wonder about the exam...

"Your goal dear listeners is to use your Quirk to dispatch these villains before the time runs out. Earn as much points as you can before time runs out!" Present Mic said before pointing at the audience. "Of course, attacking the other examinees or any other anti-heroic acts are breaking the rules and will disqualify you. Capisce!"

I heard Kacchan let out a tisk while I just sighed out in relief.

Still dispatch rather than immobilize...

"May I ask a question?" Someone further down the audience called out, standing and raising their hand out rather stiffly.

"Okay!" Present Mic said while pointing to the speaker, a stiff looking tall boy with short dark blue hair.

A spotlight falling on him as he brought out the printout, although I couldn't see what he was doing except for guessing that he was pointing at something.

"On the printout there are four types of villains. If this is a misprint, then U.A. the most prominent hero school in Japan, should be ashamed of this foolish mistake. We examinees are here in this place because we wish to be molded into exemplary heros." He said before turning and pointing at me!

W-What did I do?

"In addition you with the curly hair!" He declared, giving me a clear view of his face and I could feel his stare behind his rectangular frame glasses. "You've been muttering the whole time. It's distracting! If you are not going to take this seriously, you should just leave now."

A-All I did was recoil back in my seat, averting my gaze from him.

"I-I'm sorry." I said as Present Mic raised and lowered his hands.

"Simmer down Examinee Number 7111, thank you for the great question!" He said, pointing to the monitor as what appeared to be...I believe that it was called a Thwomp if I remember correctly in the final corner, 0 points above it. "The fourth faux villain is worth 0 points and is just an arena trap, an obstacle. One that will go crazy in narrow spaces! It is not impossible to defeat, but there will be no reason to defeat it either. So I recommend that you listeners try to avoid it."

"Thank you very much! Pardon the interruption!" The boy said, bowing stiffly before sitting down as the spot light was turned off.

The zero pointer was an obstacle, probably something that was much stronger than the other robots. If it is as strong as Present Mic suggests it would be best to avoid it if I can.

Considering the chatter around me, I wasn't the only one with this idea.

"That's all for me, but we do have time for another question. So which of you listeners has one, don't be afraid! Ask away!" Present Mic said, sweeping out his hands.

Taking a breath to steel myself I raised my hand. There was something I was curious about.

Several others raised their hand, but the spotlight focused on me.

G-Getting me to flinch as I felt everyone's gaze on me. Present Mic grinning as he looked at me. H-He picked me deliberately, didn't he...

"Lucky Examinee Number 2234, we're all ears! What is your question?" Present Mic said, getting me to gulp as I tried to compose myself.

I-It was almost too much, for a few moments finding it difficult to speak.

B-Before taking a breath and feeling my spines stretching along my back.

"T-That what are we supposed to do with the villains and what were they doing" I asked. "Y-You said that this was to dispatch them. L-Like if they were created by a villain or just malfunctioning and the area has been evacuated before hand? I-I know that heros don't always get accurate information on the scene...so I was justing for context." I said, sinking into my seat at everyone's gazes.

Hearing some scoffs including from Kacchan, although he didn't glare at me this time.

S-Some others did, while most of them just looked at me curiously.

A-And the heat from the spotlight was just continuing to grow as well as my anxiety...

Present Mic pressed a hand against his ear, possibly an ear piece before focusing on me again.

"An excellent question Number 2234, now answer me this one listener? Why does it matter?" Present Mic said.

T-Taking a deep breath, I replied almost immediately.

"I-It matters if we should just incapacitate them or not, to limit the damage to both them and the city incase anyone else was there. H-Heros are supposed to do more than just fight villains, they are supposed to help others too." I said, slumping back in my chair.

T-There we're still some glares and Kacchan was looking at me like I was crazy.

Y-Yet they were outweighed by the looks of curiosity and surprise from everyone else.

N-Not really used to this much attention...

Present Mic smiled and I swore I could hear Nezu cackling somewhere.

"Congratulations listener, we never had a question like that before. Yet a good point nonetheless and creating a perfect narrative for this exam!" Present Mic said, the spot light turning off. I just let out a sigh of relief as he continued speaking. "The faux villains are malfunction robots on the lose in their cities, the area evacuated a head of time. Think of yourself as heros with permission to destroy or incapacitate the robots anyway you see fit. Your goal is to dispatch as much of them in the time limit, which will now be a time limit waiting for back up to arrive and deal with the zero pointers! The very core of the exam remains the same, but now we have something that will truly test your mettle listeners! Now are you all ready!"

Once again the room was silent, and most the gazes had shifted away from me to my relief. N-Noticing some still glaring at me while others looked as nervous as I felt.

P-Perhaps I had unintentionally put more pressure on some of them. F-For that I was truly sorry!

Kacchan looked absolutely ecstatic about this...

B-But looking around me, I could see a few of the audience looking more determined than they were before. I-In fact there was even some noise going through the crowd in response to Present Mic's response.

And I guess, me too.

Feeling my nervousness lower a bit before I smiled a little.

Kind of still uneasy about the exam, but seeing so many others looking ready to brace whatever may come from the exams was...different. Different yet somewhat reassuring and inspiring...and seemed somewhat infectious too.

Present Mic grinned as he swept his arms out wide.

"Seems like all you listeners are ready to get things in gear! That will be all from me! But before I sign off I have a gift for you all, our school's motto." Present Mic said as the audience began to stir into an excited frenzy. "The 'hero' Napoleon Bonaparte once said, 'A true hero is someone who overcomes life's misfortunes.' Now Go Beyond-"

"Plus Ultra!" Both he and much of the crowd roared out, joining in on the shout before clutching my ticket.

Smiling and my eyes getting misty.

I was finally at the starting line.

After all that training, it was finally time...

I just need to make it through the exam.

"Now good luck suffering everyone!" Present Mic yelled out, getting me to blink.

W-Wait what?

(3rd POV - Another part of U.A. - Same Time)

Nezu smiled and cackled as he took a sip from his tea.

"I take it you enjoyed the problem child's point." Aizawa said blankly while Aoki leaned against a wall, wings twitching a bit.

Aizawa would never admit it, yet it was a good example. Since he and Hisashi had first become teachers teacher here the second portion of the General Entrance Exam had always been the same. Stop the villains by destroying them.

Had even been the same way when they first entered U.A., yet things had gotten progressively more and more about just defeating the villains.

Admittedly it was just half of the true exam in the first place, yet he did see multiple students with potential continuously slip through as their Quirks weren't suited for combat.

"Somewhat." Nezu said with a grin.

"I have to agree with Izuku, the robots might not be the same yet the principals are. Albeit tweaked a bit." Aoki said shaking his head.

Sure he enrolled in the support course, yet knew people who took them or was part of the older students who would volunteer to take apart or repair them after the exams were over.

Provided both extra experience and extra credit.

"Usually depends on myself or the whims of the board each year. Usually find less resistance for any new ideas to implement to shake things up while keeping in basic perimeters. I haven't found inspiration this time but by the time Erika returned to Earth it was too late this year." Nezu said with a sigh. "Yet there is always next year."

He cackled again and Aoki shuddered briefly, sending a brief prayer for next year's examinees.

"Much as I would rather hear it, we need to go." Aizawa said, rather wishing that he could sleep.

He'd save it for after the exams.

Nezu just nodded before hopping out of his chair, tea in hand.

"This year I'm certain will provide quite the hopeful, yet I wonder how it will hold out." Nezu said before looking at Aoki. "How are things in China?"

"Almost cleared out the entryway to the shrine, lot more rubble than they originally expected but the structure remains intact. Saying they have found more Kaiju related findings through carvings in the entrance hall than in all of Asia in the past decade. I'll keep you all than Izuku and Erika posted after exams if Graham doesn't first." Aoki sighed as he pulled out his phone. "Have some issues to deal with myself."

Mostly staffing issues and the points Yujiro brought up, something he agreed with.

Though things have been busy today for Monarch with the discovery in China, and he was busy enough today acting for the Support Course Entrance Exam.

That pink haired girl held potential...if she didn't nearly blown himself and another examinee up...

It was probably be a long term between her, managing the outpost, and the possibility of another Age of Kaiju coming about.

"Good luck with that, please keep me posted if anything major new finds come up." Nezu said, getting Aoki to nod as he and Aizawa began to leave the room.

Aizawa briefly looked back at the monitor seeing the examinees milling out for the Examination Grounds before shaking his head and followed after the principal.

Never did he think that in his hero career he would be this close to something shifting the entire world. Several times for Japan maybe, but not globe spamming.

Between the truth of All Might, Erika, and the Futuna Kaiju last week and now a potential major discovery in China...sooner or later things were going to change even without the prospect of a new Age of Kaiju.

Considering the problem child's luck and Erika as the catalyst, whichever of the kids make it are going to be near the heart of it all.

(U.A. Recommendation Exam Grounds - Same Time)

Erika let out a breath as she gathered at the starting line, vines ready to burst out at a moment's notice. The other examinees starting to gather, including the fanged girl from the locker rooms wearing a scale themed tracksuit.

She grinned and waved with a disembodied hand before Erika turned away to see Ectoplasm head towards the starting line before a student approached him. A shorter boy with black hair wearing a black tank top, track pants, and running shoes. Arms peck marked by small burn scars and with a slight slouch...wait a minute...

Was this the Akatani Izuku told her about?

"Examinee 33 shouldn't you be at the starting line?" Ectoplasm asked.

"I am, but it would be best to hand these over. They take forever to clean out when wet." The boy said, handing Ectoplasm what looked like the be a pair of metallic bracers.

"Just leave them here." He said, getting the boy to nod before he hurried for the starting line. His eyes widening at looking at Erika.

So he did recognize her from the video.

Erika let out a growl at that memory as he approached her.

"So you were going here." He said, getting Erika to smirk.

"Midoriya says hello." She said, getting Akatani to nod with a smile.

"Hope he does make it through it, he was nice enough. Honestly give Midoriya my regards. My brother didn't have that figure after all." Akatani said with a grin.

"You can tell Izuku yourself." Erika growled out.

"I got plans with my family afterward, so I make no promises." Akatani said as Ectoplasm picked up the megaphone.

"Now is everyone front and center?" He said, waiting a moment as the lights shifted on the starting line until a blue one lit up. "Okay now then, go!"

That was all the students needed to get start and all six shot out of the starting line.

Erika's legs and back split apart, her vines snaking out of her sleeves and back before making contact with the ground and lifted her body in the air. Briefly falling behind the other examinees before catching up to them again.

One of her fellow examinee's had electricity surrounding their feet, hovering and skating at a brisk pace ahead of the others. Akatani was keeping pace behind him from Erika could tell was sheer speed alone.

She wasn't that far behind them and so wasn't the fanged girl. Her feet running along the ground while the rest of her body was detached.

Briefly floating in front of Erika and waved at her before floating back to her feet, Erika letting out an irritated growl. Resisting the urge for a vine to not snap at her.

Behind them the other two examinees, a heavy set teen and another one with claws and blade like protrusions folding against their arms were struggling to catch up to the others.

All six of the examinees struggled to keep ahead of the other ones. Erika, the fanged girl, and Akatani kept about the same pace as each other. Their place constantly shifting between the three of them for their vines, disassembling body, and speed and reflexes respectfully.

Yet the one constantly ahead of them constantly either tried to stay ahead or deliberately intervened in their progress. None of them were allowed to directly interfere with each other and parts of the course were ruined from other students to make things difficult for others.

But that didn't stop him from suddenly slowing down to force the other examinees from trying to avoid him before speeding back off with a grin.

Something that Erika was trying to resist the urge to whack him with her vines, barely stretching out of the way from him trying to pull that stunt again.

Only to let out a growl in her throat as he nearly tripped in part of the track that had sunken away.

"Almost got it." The fanged girl said as she floated near Erika, well the top half of her body anyway. The rest of her body was running along the vines along with Akatani as the three of them passed the examinee who tried to trip them up.

Then for himself to trip up in a divot in the ground, getting both Erika and the girl to grin.

"Spoke too soon." She said, to which Erika just nodded before frowning.

"Why do you keep floating around me?" Erika questioned as she steered away from some leftover ice in the track.

"Just cause, that and you seem cool." The girl said with a grin and shrug before floating back to her body.

"If you're both down talking next part's up ahead." Akatani said, and true to his word the first true obstacle of the course laid ahead.

A raised metallic pathway where the track curved at a steep angle with a slope that lead into the lake of the exam, the surface making it difficult to climb back up if you fell down. Half of that rang along a lake before running parallel into a 10 meter tall wall as the path begins to shifts sides to along the wall and into a man made stream before ending on a bridge that passes over last portion of the track.

They had glimpsed through the monitors just how easy one could slip off if not careful.

The robots finishing coating it in slick on the surface and the various cracks in dents pooling it up didn't help at all.

Erika let out a growl as some of the vines began to retract into her back and her arm began to split apart seamlessly.

"Move!" The examinee who tried tripping them up from earlier shouted, skating past them and jumped onto the metallic pathway. The electricity on his feet propelling him forward.

Erika let out an irritated growl while Akatani frowned, the latter jumping onto the pathway and placing his hands on it.

Slipping briefly before the section of the pathway was covered in a layer of frost and the veins in his arms glowed orange. Taking off into a sprint with his arms outstretched, releasing a small popping noise to further propel himself further up the curve.

From out of Erika's arms multiple vines emerged, weaved and tangled together like a rope with piercing ends clumped together. Sap emerging at the maws of the vines sprouting from her back.

With a grunt she launched one of the bundle vines at the pathway, anchoring her in before launching the other one and swung onto the pathway. Her back vines helping to keep her in air and left trails of sap that began to harden and slide off once they moved.

Repeating the process while some of the bond vines dispelled into spores that were reabsorbed into her body, figuring out how many she needed to keep up on the pathway without falling in.

"So you got the spores too, neat." The fanged girl said, her body dissembled while keeping her feet on the side and an eye floating above the track.

Erika just shook her head before hearing a rumbling sound from behind.

"Excuse us!" Erika heard from behind, turning her head as she and the fanged girl reached the wall. Looking back to see the other two examinees had caught up.

The heavyset boy had transformed into a lankier, bestial form adorned with spikes while the one with blade like protrusions had clamored on his back before jumping off. The protrusions splitting apart to glide onto the wall before scurrying along it with his claws.

Erika continued to her track, trying to stay ahead of the transformed examinee before seeing Akatani and the jerk examinee from before, the former placing his hands onto the ground.

"Come one!" The jerk examinee shouted as he speed off from the ground being covered in a sheen of frost and his veins seemed to glow even more before propelling himself forward with a loud pop.

Generating a warm tailwind that irritated the other contestants, although Erika grinned unaffected.

Having an idea what his quirk could be, Izuku was going to love to hear about this.

First she had an exam to finish.

Taking the chance spores came out at the ends of her arms, before merging with and extending the length of her vines increased and she was soon ahead of the other three examinees.

Briefly shuddering as a vine touched the ice Erika soon managed to catch up to the other two at the end of the pathway, retracting her vines into her arms before sprouting more from her back as the pathway evened out.

Crossing the bridge before briefly stopping as an eye appeared in front of her face, before the fanged girl reformed in front of her, grinning before floating by.

Too which Erika quickly passed her by with the vines, smile while letting off a quiet growl in her throat.

Soon they saw the other two examinees catching up on them through the bridge while they caught up to Akatani and the jerk examinee, the later tried to zip back towards Akatani who jumped to the side. The jerk skating back to the front as they entered a simulated cityscape.

The ground and buildings having debris scattered all around from parts of builds to junked cars to complete the aesthetic. Some chunks of ice remained in the way alongside parts of the roadway sunken in.

All around were plenty of pieces of scrap metal, Erika growling as she readied her another vine or two.

Seeing the fanged girl grabbing what looked to be a piece of pipe as suddenly Akatani and the jerk examinee were flooded by a swarm of those one pointer robots Izuku sparred against most .

What had Present Mic called them, Victory?

Either way the second portion were just to make it to the next as quick as you can, the Villain Bots where there to slow you down. You don't get anything from smashing them, only break or get past them.

Something Erika was looking forward to as she took a deep breath as a Victory charged towards her.

Only to be struck by her spitting up a stream of sap, zapping and partly corroding the robot's hull as it wheeled back before Erika tore apart the Victory with her vines. Before moving on to impale another with her vines.

Launching sap from her mouth or vines and using the later to either rip the robots apart or slam them aside.

Quickly cutting through the swarm and the fanged girl too as she tried to weave through the Victories.

Briefly glancing back to see the bestial examinee bulldozing through them as well with the one with blade like protrusions was quickly swarmed down by the robots.

Erika quickened the pace of her vines before seeing a few dented and frosted over robots, seeing the jerk examinee and Akatani working through them.

The former kicking and jumping off them with his feet.

The latter striking with his fist and elbows while weaving through them, the occasional pop sending one flying or grabbing one and creating a patch of frost over it.

Seeing the bestial examinee quickly catching up, Erika continued to cut through the Victories. Before growing as one of the landed on some of the vines supporting her in air.

Glimpsing the jerk examinee smirking at her from nearby.

Erika took some satisfaction when she ripped the vines off, flecks of sap staining his shirt as he stared slack jawed. Smirking as they regenerated and she continued to cut through the robots unabated.

"Kind of brutal, yet pretty cool." The fanged girl said,  her head floating nearby and grinning.

"You should look to your left." Erika said as impaled a Victory through the visor with her vine before slamming it into another one.

Causing the fanged girl to disassemble her body to avoid a wild haymaker from one before she reassembled herself.

Erika just shook her head before spitting out a large wad of sap at a Victory's wheel, causing it to crash and burn before she continued to cut through the robots with ease.

Soon she was ahead of the others except the bestial examinee at which they found themselves neck and neck ahead of the other. With Akatani and the fanged girl following close behind.

As Erika corroded and ripped in half another Victory, the bestial examinee bulldozed his way through the rest. Charging through and onto a curve where the robots swarming him soon turned back from.

She spat out several wads of sap that gunked them up before reaching the curve in the track, seeing the bestial examinee ahead and onto the next obstacle of the course.

A hilly disjointed raised track that looked like a landslide had struck this portion of the city and along the side of a mountain.

Noticing the bestial examinee struggling as patches of track seemed to either raise or shift further back down away from him grabbing anything. A constantly shifting surface designed to hinder or push one further back down.

"Perfect." Erika said before crossing onto it with her vines.

The constantly shifting surface was off little difficulty to traverse across with her vines, adjusting to any changes with only a moments notice.

Quickly catching up to the bestial examinee as the others caught up. The fanged girl and jerk examinee having some difficulty while Akatani seemed to be quite nimble, quickly adapting to the shifts and jumping from one place to another.

The most surprising was the examinee with the blade like protrusions, crawling along in a crouch and his claws. Quickly making ground with the others aside from being behind the most at the start. Perhaps considering the gliding aspect he was also a good climber cause of his Quirk.

Should bring that up with Izuku later.

Erika caught up with the bestial examinee as he finished crossing the hilly terrain before running down a sloped path down the simulated mountain. She crossed soon after and a vine with a closed bud at the end emerged from her back.

Hanging loosely from behind her as Erika rushed forward along the slopped path, it leading down against the mountain and running along the lake shore. Continuing downwards towards the lake's surface itself.

She was tempted to stretch a root into it, before growling and pushing her way ahead.

Glimpsing both the fanged girl and protrusioned examinee floating/gliding behind her, Erika hurried up. Coming across a bend leading to a curve in the track where she could see the start of the next obstacle...and the bestial examinee had canceled his transformation to take a breather.

Most of the vines retracted and Erika began to sprout roots from her legs, the bud opened to several sepal leaves over her head.

Passing him by and jumping on onto the next part of the course. Her vines, roots, and hands grasping handholds while she began to move along.

This part was perhaps the shortest part, a rock wall along part of the lake about 3 meters above the surface. Of course the footholds stretched to the water's surface incase anyone fell in, though she had seen several examinees race directly across in previous rounds.

Leading to an alcove and scaling a large wall to the next part of the track, a large foam landing zone at the bottom incase you fell off. Yet that wasn't the main thing to be worried about.

Erika growled as she felt something pelt a leaf before dropping in the water. Shrugging before continuing on.

That was being pelted with by tennis balls by what looked to be smaller versions of the Victory bot. Harmless especially to her, but a major annoyance.

For a bit more Erika continued her trek along the wall before hearing a splash. Seeing the heavyset examinee fall into the water as the rest caught up, the jerk and protroisoned examinee in the lead.

The fanged girl floating off the wall while Akatani created a sheen of frost on the surface, riding it with one hand down and the other letting out a loud pop that propelled him along.

Erika shook her head and continued along the wall, ignoring the tennis balls being thrown at her and everyone else trying to catch up before she reached the alcove and smirked.

Before her whole body broke up into spores and just floated up, reforming at the top and sprouting her vines before taking off again.

She had been looking forward to that.

"You too huh." Erika heard the hang girl said from somewhere, looking to see her mouth floating next to her before reforming her own body and trying to keep pace as she detached her body from the knees up.

"Yeah." Erika said with a grunt, they both having a similar point of annoyance.

Although she doubted the fanged girl had the initial reaction to eat Nezu out of irritation too...

"Not that much longer till the finish now." The fanged girl said with a smirk, to which Erika matched with her own. "How about we see which crosses the line first?"

"Gladly." Erika said with a grin.

Hearing that the fanged girl's legs broke off into a sprint as she tried to float ahead. Yet the reach of Erika's vines made that a bit tricky as she quickly covered any distance between them.

For a bit it seemed to be just a little competition between the two of them neck and neck, to her surprise Erika found herself enjoying it somewhat.

Never having to do anything like this in her first life, still a friendly little competition between her and someone else. Aside from lab work she had never felt anything like this.

It was kind of nice...

Until it was ruined by the both of them hearing the sound of static quickly approaching them.

"Out of the way!" The jerk examinee shouted as he skated past them and around a curve. Erika letting out a growl while the fanged girl frowned.

Both looked back to see Akatani trying to catch up with the other two examinees far behind, the jerk speeding up ahead before nearly tripping over another divot while rushing a head.

"Rude, that's going to cost him up ahead." The fanged girl said with a grin.

"True." Erika said with one of her own, a plan coming to mind as they saw the ruins of a small city scape up on the track ahead. The next stage of the course.

Longest portion of the track too and something that tests what was the core of a true hero.

"Come on!" The jerk examinee said as he examined a fallen building as Erika and the fanged girl split apart.

Figuratively and literally, the former dispersing an arm into spores and the latter splitting her body apart and begun to search the area.

The area was littered with fallen debris, overturned cars, and part of a downed building or two. Made to simulate the devastation of a villain attack and for the examinees to scour the debris for survivors and rescue them.

Erika looking through a pile of debris before feeling some of her spores brushing against something in an overturned car nearby. Beginning to reform her arm as she rushed towards it, seeing a dummy sitting in the front seat with the seat belt.

Taking a deep breath, she shifted one of the ends of her vines into spores and then into a very brittle looking sepal leaf. Hadn't tried it, but it would do.

One vine opened the door while she used to leaf to protect the dummy from falling glass. Several parts of it breaking as the glass struck before retracting it. Multiple vines snaked in and wrapped around the dummy while one bit through the seatbelt before Erika pulled the dummy out.

Having plenty of practice, Erika made sure the dummy was wrapped up securely in her vines, bringing it against her back before heading back on the track.

Making sure the dummy made it to the stretchers on the other side, making sure to get them safely. Facing obstacles and villains all along the way. Anything that happened to the dummy that would guaranteed an injury or death could guaranteed a severe penalty in the score.

Present Mic had made that abundantly clear when someone messed that up in the first batch of examinees.

Erika used her vines to maneuver through a shifting field much like the landslide obstacle, added in a few what appeared to be rocks dropping in to halt progress.

Though she quickly realized they were foam when one of her vines bit through one, spitting pieces of it.

The jerk examinee laughed out that as he skated by, only to cower when her fangs and claws sprouted and he pulled back.

Erika let out a snort as they retracted. Briefly looking back to see the fanged girl carry a dummy on her arms and torso floating behind her while Akatani carrying one  on his back  not that far behind her.

Seeing this Erika raised her vines, firing several wads of sap at a group of five Victories that came charging at her and jerk examinee. Glimpsing more of them just on the sidelines.

A few landed on one corroded it away its hull, getting it to crash as the remaining four to break into pairs and come after the examinees.

Any that just got close to her Erika just pushed away with her vines, blasting any with sap that tried to get closer. Wrecking the two chasing her, while some of the one's on the side lines emerged to engage and replace them. One chasing her and the others now engaging Akatani and the fanged girl.

While the Victory continue to chase her, Erika split her arms apart as she saw a raised wall stretching between the buildings. Three vines bundles together shot out of each arm.

Grabbing the building and the Victory, the vines tearing of the robot's chest and head as they bit down on it. Retracting as the robot crumpled down to the ground as Erika climbed the building.

Dispersing the vines into spores and her arms merging back together, she turned to see a Victory that had been pursuing her turned back to attack the jerk examinee.

Holding back a grow Erika made sure the vines around the dummy was still secured she continued on.

The rest of the terrain was very rugged and was mainly difficult for one to maneuver through quickly while carrying a dummy to safety.

Yet with her vines it made the terrain easy for Erika to crossover and making great progress.

But with the sound of a static hum in the background she could tell this lead would not last long. That and a glimpse of a floating eye to up a head.

Erika took in a breath and grinned as she saw the robots with stretchers up ahead, pushing forward a bit more before raising a vine to block a kick from an Ectoplasm clone that had tried to strike from behind.

"You shall not pass any further." He said, trying to look intimidating while preparing to attack again.

Failing in the intimidation immensely to her, Erika let out a growl from her throat as she tightened her vines around the dummy. A few raising from the bundle to snap at Ectoplasm.

He rushed forward, jumping back from some wads of sap before jumping over a vine from snapping at his legs.

Quickly moving to strike at the back at Erika, his kicks blocked by her vines trying to swat away at him. Erika slowly moving back towards the stretchers yet Ectoplasm's constant kicking.

Which wasn't helped when another clone dove into a frey. Her vines snapping at their legs or spitting sap to keep them away from the dummy while still making slow progress to the stretchers.

The sound of static getting ever closer with Erika seeing the jerk examinee skating forward and was aiming a jump kick at one of the Ectoplasm clones.

Erika just smirked as she spat out a large spray of sap in both the clone's direction. One dodged and the other found his legs trapped to the ground in the cement.

Alongside the jerk examinee, whose feet were glued and shoe's caked in hardened sap.

"Oh gross I just got these!" He shouted out.

Erika taking some joy in his disgusted look, letting out a series of growls from her throat as she backed up towards the stretchers. Completely ignoring the look the trapped Ectoplasm clone was sending her before it dissolved into ectoplasm.

The other one sighed as two more clones appeared to deal with the fanged girl and Akatani that were quickly catching up. Before he lunged forward once again.

Erika raised her vines to block a series of kicks before a whistle sounded and a red and black Victory with extra plating on its right arm that wheeled in front of Erika and forced the Ectoplasm clone back.

She tilted her head as the robot gave her a thumbs up and forced the Ectoplasm clone back a few steps before he rushed towards Akatani.

She supposed that it was supposed to represent a hero for this portion given it seemed to be defending the area. Erika unfurled her vines around the dummy and placed it on the stretcher.

The Victory gave her a nod as it rolled back to Erika's confusion, but just shrugged.

Before ultimately continuing down the track as she heard the fanged girl chuckle. Looking to see her head floating along with a grin.

"Nice one back there, they me did you mean for that?" She asked, getting Erika to smirk.

"Perhaps." Was all she said as the rest of the fanged girl's body caught up to her.

"Last I saw he still had one foot stuck and was busy removing the rest caked on a shoe." The fanged girl said, before looking back to see Akatani catching up to them.

Erika let out a series of growls from her throat before rushing head and head towards the the final obstacle of the track.

Just a sheer curved drop that if you went too fast down without being careful could result in injury or a one way trip into the lake.

After that it was just a straight shot towards the finish line.

The two of them rushed forwards towards the drop, starting to break their bodies apart with Akatani sprinting to catch up.

Both Erika and the fanged girl broke apart into spores and detached themselves into  pieces respectfully, swarming down to the piece of track running across the lake.

Only for Akatani to jump off the edge and to plummet straight past them.

"Sorry about this!" He called out as he fell past the pieces, his hands glowing orange.

"What the-" The fanged girl said before Akatani forced both hands down and let out a massive pop. Followed by a massive gust of warm air that scattered the pieces in the wind.

Creating a burst of air that acted as a cushion for Akatani, him landing onto the track somewhat shakily before taking a knee. Panting for a few moments before getting onto his feet.

"Not cool." The fanged girl said as she began to gather her pieces. Both her and Erika reformed a little bit ahead of him, the latter likening a little dazed. "You alright?"

"I'm fine, just hate having my spores scattered." Erika growled out as she and the fanged girl took off as Akatani sprinted after them.

The three of them raced down the final portion of the track, leaving the other examinees further behind as now it was just a matter of who would cross the finish line first. Between the fanged girl's disconnected body, Akatani's speed, and Erika's vines it was a tough call.

Passing through divots and even a trail of ice still left in the ground the three of them still trying to race ahead of the other, Akatani soon falling behind while panting heavily.

Both Erika and the fanged girl were soon head and head once again, becoming difficult to tell who would cross the line first until...

"Examinee 54: nine minutes and 42 seconds! Examinee 89: nine minutes and 45 seconds!" Ectoplasm called out as the fanged girl's detached hand flew across the finish line followed by the edge of Erika's vine.

She just grinned as her whole body merged back together while Erika retracted most of her vines except for two, having them stretch for the sun.

"Not bad but I could've done better." The fanged girl said as she and Erika walked away from the finish line.

"By that breaking apart too." Erika said, getting the fanged girl to nod.

"Yep, still that was fun. Almost had me at the end too." She said, Erika nodding in agreement with a small smile.

"Examinee 33: ten minutes and 14 seconds!" Ectoplasm called out as Akatani crossed the line before handing him the metallic bracers. "Here you go."

"Thanks..." Akatani panted out before walking away.

Clasping them on his wrists, letting out a sigh as his veins briefly glowed orange before dying down.

"Really need to work on my stamina a bit..." Akatani said before walking over to the two.

"You okay?" Erika asked, getting him to wave.

"Just a little winded and don't you dare laugh." Akatani said, sending a glare at the fanged girl who just grinned. Shaking his head before facing Erika again. "Anyway I saw what you did to those robots, have to say those villains were lucky they encountered Midoriya."

"You don't know right you are." Erika said with a growl.

Shiten was luck he only crawled away with broken ribs the first time.

If she had gotten there first and there was no one around him or Kokuyōsenki...well she knew that Izuku would disapprove of her killing them.

 Yet not of breaking them...

"Okay I've been around my sister and her friends to know that look, it's better not to ask." Akatani said, taking a step back. "Still good luck with the interviews, see you around."

Akatani began to walk away from them, getting the fanged girl to smirk.

"Well that was fun, anyway I seem to have forgotten my manners earlier." The fanged girl said as she outstretched and detached her hand. "Tokage Setsuna."

"Takegumi Erika, just call me Erika." Erika said, shaking it with a vine while Tokage winced while pull her hands back.

"Oh dang, no wonder you hate being compared with Biollante." Tokage said, getting Erika to growl in irritation.

Seriously with her Quirk and name what were here parents thinking on naming her that!

"You have no idea." Erika stated bluntly.

"Right." Tokage said before shaking her head as Yaoyorozu walked up to them.

"Still you both performed admirably out there, although perhaps you went a little overboard Erika." She said, looking to the finish line as the jerk examinee crossed over.

His shoes and pant legs caked with her sap and part of his clothes stained with splotches of sap as well. Glaring at Erika briefly, who smirked back. Getting him to skate away into the crowd of examinees.

"He literally jumped into the sap, but he did kick the robot into my vines. Should have stayed back." Erika said with Tokage grinned.

"Kept trying to trip everyone else up the whole way too. Besides..." Togake said as she detached a hand with a wave. "He probably didn't expect for any of that to happen."

Yaoyorozu nodded at that before stretching out her hand.

"I see, anyway my name is Yaoyorozu Momo." She said, a detached hand shaking it excitedly to her surprise.

"Tokage Setsuna, nice to meet ya." The fanged girl said.

Erika smiled at seeing them get along, before turning her gaze as the last two examinees of her round crossed it.

Ectoplasm should be announcing that they were going to start soon for the next round of examinees.

She felt that she had performed well enough...that and some of the Quiks she had seen so far Izuku would like to hear about too. Speaking of which his practical exam should be starting soon.

Erika had faith that Izuku would succeed, just hoped that he would be alright.

(Izuku POV - U.A. Examination Ground: Battle Center B Gate - 6 minutes later)

T-This is it, the starting line...

A-Any moment now the gate will open and the practical exam would begin...

Due to my time here when Monarch had their temporary base stationed here I was familiar with the urban landscapes of the Examination Grounds. Granted this was not the same one which was fair, there should be plenty of similarities to navigate.

The real issue would be finding enough points to pass.

E-Everyone here looks ready to go, if any of them were as nervous like I was they were hiding it pretty well.

L-Looking to see everyone either stretching or readying their support gear for their Quirks showed that each and everyone of them were ready for this.

T-Taking in a breath and feeling my spins twitch I tried to steel myself as I walked forward towards the gate. Reminding myself just like everyone else, I have been preparing for this day.

Wasn't going to help to ease my nerves all that much, but I have been training for 10 months for this day. I held an equal shot of passing this as everyone else here.

And just like them and Erika was, I'm going to give it my all.

With that I nodded to myself, trying to portray a determined look as I stretched my arms out over my head. Moving closer to the gate before stretching my legs out.

R-Resisting the urge to write about the Quirks and support gear I see around me as I stretched my spines out. I'll have plenty of time to do so later.

Still getting used to having them under my skin...

A-And I couldn't tell if it was the crowd of people growing close to each other at this gate, my nerves, or my slightly photosynthetic blood but my body began to feel a little warm.

P-Probably the former two.

I took another breath to calm myself down a little as I stopped stretching and began to approach the gate.

Stopping when I glimpsed the girl from earlier along the crowd, wearing a black and white tracksuit with a red line separating the colors.

S-She was here at this examination ground too...I had hoped to see her again but I didn't really count on it...

M-Maybe I should go and wish her luck? W-We already did it at the school gates, but it couldn't hurt to help...that and I never got to know her name as well...

T-Than again I probably didn't have a time to-

I was cut out of my thoughts when someone grabbed my arm, green sparks filled my vision and I heard somebody yelp in pain. Turning around to see it was the glasses wearing boy wearing from earlier.

Clutching his hand and looking at me in surprise.

O-Oh no...

"I-I'm sorry, it's a defense mechanism I can't turn off." I said truthfully as the boy shook his hand stiffly.

Before he sighed.

"The fault is mine, I should not have grabbed you." He apologized while the hand that I didn't shock was making chopping motions. "Still it seems like that girl is trying to focus, are you going to disrupt that?"

"I-I was trying to wish her luck on the exams, we met earlier." I said honestly while holding my hands out in surrender. "B-Besides isn't what you just did disruptive as well?"

W-Why did I say that?!

Several of the surrounding examinees laughed at that and I swore I hearse one say 'burn'.

The glasses wearing boy stiffened up, myself tensing up cause I didn't know what he would do.

Until he stiffly bowed before me to my surprise.

W-What?

"You are correct, forgive me! It was not my intention to disrupt anyone." The boy said as he straightened himself up and chopped his arms. "I apologize for acting so shamefully and my own actions against you."

"I-It's alight." I said, only getting him to shake his head.

"No it is not, especially for someone who sounds as nervous as yourself." He said, getting me to slump a little. "Still I thank you for your graciousness. Allow me to start over, my name is Tenya Ida."

"I-Izuku Midoriya, it's nice to meet you." I said, managing a small smile as he nodded.

"Then I wish you luck Midoriya." He said.

"Y-You too Ida." I said with a shaky nod.

"Is everyone here!" Presents Mic's voice called out, looking to see him on top of the gate. His voice echoing alongside being broadcasted on loudspeaker's, getting my ears to ring.

So this was it...I didn't have any time to wish her luck, I thought as much...

I took a breath as my spines twitch as I activated One for All. Turning it to 2% as I felt it pulse throughout my body. Ida and a few others stepping back as I was covered in the vein like markings and sparks of green energy.

It's time.

"Okay start!" Present Mic shouted and I took off as the gate opened.

Weaving through the crowd before taking off in a full sprint into the battle ground, a small smile on my face.

Now or never!

(3rd POV - 10:00 until exam ends)

Ida just stared along with most of the crowd as Izuku had ran ahead, creating a slight breeze in his trail.

"What are you all waiting for, there are no countdowns in a real fight! At least some of you listeners have that idea down!" Present Mic said as he pointed at the gate. "Run, run! Fly you fools!"

This spurred the crowd at the gates and all over the examination grounds that hadn't already run in to dash into the fray all over U.A..

All in a mad dash to get as much points as they can in order to make their desire to become a student here a reality.

(U.A. Observation Room - 9:59 until exam ends)

Aizawa sighed and pinched the bridge of his noise while Kayama laughed at their friend's words.

"Well he always did appreciate the classics." Ishiyama said with a bemused shake of his head before focusing back on the monitor.

(Izuku POV - U.A. Examination Ground: Battle Center B - 9:58 until exam ends)

From hearing Present Mic's words I held a little time until everyone else makes it difficult to find any of the other villain bots. I held a little advantage in the way of extra time, yet with all the various Quirks and whatever over skills evened out whatever else I can do.

Need to constantly keep on the look out for villain bots like...there!

I spotted a one pointer and dashed towards it. The robot wheel towards me, ducking under it's fist and relieved a hook to it's shut off switch.

Denting the chest before the robot fell over, deactivated.

One down, I don't know how many others to go.

Continuing to run and swerving around a street corner from where I heard a series of explosions and clashes in the distance. More than likely to find villain bots further away from others, allowing me to pick them off before going for groups of examinees. The sounds of conflict might draw in more of them depending on how many examinees are there or lying in wait to ambush others depending on how they were programmed.

My assumption of the latter proved correct when I heard the sound of a screeching tire, raising my arms to block a blow from a one point that speed out of an alleyway.

Grunting at feeling it trying to press forward, I stepped back as it tried to stick with the other arm. Before pushing said arm back after its attack missed. Pushing the one pointer back before I delivered an upper cut to its head.

The one pointer fell forward with its head dented before I relieved a kick to its shut off switch, powering it down.

"Two." I said before taking off again.

Didn't take too long for me to find an another villain bot, this one I didn't recognize this time.

A four legged green robot with larger forearms, a long neck with two eyes, and a long tail made it look like a lizard. The 2 painted on its forearms was a dead giveaway that this was the two pointer.

Charging at me I jumped out of the way and barely managed to dodge a swish for its tail, cratering the ground where I hade just been.

Okay that was close.

It swung its arms at me, stepping back from each strike before it swung its neck at me. I brought my arms up to block it's attack, wrapped an arm around its neck before I slammed my fist into the base of it's neck.

Retaliating by trying to slam at me with an arm, I kicked the back of the forearm's platting. Severely denting it.

Jumping over a tail sweep I brought my foot down its neck, before delivering a punch to the back of its head. The two pointer shutting down and collapsing onto the ground.

Four points now.

I briefly gave the deactivated two pointer a look over before noticing a shut off switch on its back. Considering the robot's tail it could easily switch to defend that spot in order to take a more defensive role.

Making a note of the shut off switch I took off to find any more robots in the surrounding area.

Yet with the sounds of conflict happening in the background and drawing closer the odds of finding robots on their own and still functioning was decreasing by the moments.

It took me a few moments of scouting a side street to find another robot, a one pointer that threw a punch towards me.

Ducking out of the way as it smashed a simulated store window.

That was close...

It tried to strike again, but I dodged it and threw a jab towards its shut off switch. Disarming the one pointer and panting a little.

Five points.

I took a quick breath before jogging down a wide open street, the sounds of conflict dying down in this portion of the area. And the aftermath of a probably one or more examinees here.

The wreckage of four one pointers and a two pointer whose back had been smashed through the back by one of the one pointer's bodies.

Whoever had done this must have just past through and I can image  the streets are already littered with such clumps of deactivated robots.

Perhaps I should shift to going after robots around other examinees soon...

I was broken from my musings when I heard the sounds of rumbling nearby and I saw the three pointer...wondering how U.A. was allowed to deploy these models!

The three pointer was a large three wheeled tank like bot about twice as big as a one pointers, with half of that height going to two five tube misses launchers on the back!

Add in the more armorer plating especially around the head it was like a miniature tank.

Okay this will be more difficult to break through it, need to find the shut off switch.

It fired a rocket from one of the launchers as I ran towards the robot, barely dodging it from striking me.

T-Thankfully they seemed to be slow and non tracking, but seeing the divot the rocket had when it struck the street showed just how much pain I would have been in if it struck me.

Firing another two rockets I barely dodged it swiped at me with its arm, jumping onto the armor on it's side before hopping onto one of the misses launchers.

Seeing the shut off switch located between its launchers, partially covered by some raised plating that I could see it through grating.

Before I could I do anything the robot's wheels screeched as it reversed over something, nearly knocking me off before I jumped down.

As the three pointer backed up to line itself in a position to fire upon me again I saw the wreckage of a one pointer's arm joint and picked it up.

Okay this should suffice, I ran out of the trajectory of a rocket it fired before throwing the joint at one of the launchers.

It tried to reverse into a position of fire, but it struck one of its launchers before the robot could. Bought me enough time to get close enough. Trying to slam me with its arm before I delivered a kick to the side of its faceplate.

Cracking one of the eyes before I climbed up and smashed the plating on the shut off switch.

However the three pointer tried to throw me off again by ramming back first into a wall hard.

Yet I held on and slammed my foot down onto the shut off switch.

The three pointer let out a low hum before shutting off and going inherit, myself panting a little as I slipped off the robot.

Eight points, who knows how many left to go.

I need to make sure to pace myself from here on out and target one and two pointers when I could. Unless I could get the drop on a three pointer from behind. Considering the armor plating and long rang weaponry that was easier said than done...

I saw a bright light from the corner from my eyes, turning around to see a laser cutting through a one pointer that had come from behind me!

W-What the!

"Merci, we made a good team!" I heard someone said, turning to see a blonde haired boy with a white track suit...with a ruffle around the collar and a belt with a magnifying lens around his stomach.

H-His Quirk must be some kind of laser from the naval area, the belt acting as a focusing support gear.

"Très bien, you are very observant. Your muttering provided the perfect distraction." He said happily, getting me to sigh. "But I don't think we'll be meeting again."

He waved with two fingers and...was that a sparkle? Was that also part of his Quirk?

"Adieu!" He called out before taking off, getting me to tilt my head in confusion before shaking my head.

Really needed to move on now, I don't know exactly how long it had been. But considering I had just run into another examinee the number of robots must be starting to thin out.

I needed to hurry up.

(3rd POV - 8:45 until the exam ends)

Aoyama watched Izuku rush down another side street before his smile dropped briefly, shaking his heads to clear his before looking for more robots.

(Izuku POV - 7:58 until the exam ends)

I ducked under the swing of a one pointer before hitting the shut off switch, shutting it down and getting it to fall down next to the wreck of another one.

"Ten points." I said, letting out a sigh of relief.

Having been probably around a full minute since I had seen any other villain bot before coming across the pair of one pointers, managing to ambush one and quickly shut it down before dealing with the other one. Probably should be heading to where all the conflict was going on soon.

If I didn't encounter any stragglers on the way soon-

A sound like clanging metal followed by rapid footsteps approaching my location.

Looking around the corner of an alleyway I saw an examinee with indigo hair and dark eye bags under his eyes run away from two pointer that was chasing him, carrying a piece of metal in hand.

He panted as he turned a corner, the two pointer chased after him before he swung the piece of metal at on of it's hind legs. Only for the metal piece to dent backwards.

The two pointer pointed it's head towards him and swung it's tail at him.

Until I grabbed it with both of my arms, planting my feet into the ground to the examinee's surprise.

"S-Shut off switch on it's back, hurry." I said as he looked between myself and the two pointer.

With the two pointer shifting it's focus onto me, grunting as I continued to hold back the tail. The robot turning towards me and raised it's forearm to strike me.

Only for the robot to collapse onto the ground, the examinee looking at me with a frown.

"I could have figured that out on my own, I didn't need your help." He said, getting me to flinch.

"P-Probably...I just acted on my own..."I said getting him to frown.

"With A Quirk like yours you must think that you're quiet the altruist then." He said, a slight edge in his tone that I couldn't pinpoint what it was.

"N-No." I said before my mind felt a little clouded. "I barely have control of it for a week now."

W-Why did I say that.

H-He seemed just as surprised I was.

"You're lying, are you?" He asked.

"No I'm not I spent months training before I could be able to use it and even then I only can use the minimum usage of it alongside being in the physical condition to take the exam." I continued to say, wondering why I couldn't stop answering him.

S-Suggestion...his Quirk might be suggestion based...

C-Confirming my hypothesis when he let out an irritated sigh and and the fog seemingly lifted.

"So you only acted on helping me without anything else, including taking down that robot?" He asked, getting me to nod.

"Y-Yeah, why would I think that?" I asked truthfully, getting the indigo haired examinee to sigh.

"Always the honest ones." I swore I heard under his breath before pointing down the street. "There is a group of one pointers that speed down that way before I could jump them. If they aren't junk metal already, just leave me alone." He said before turning away so I couldn't see his face and walking off. "Thanks for the tip."

"N-No problem, but is your Quirk an auditory suggestion based one?" I asked, only to flinch and regret it once he looked back.

The gaze in his visible eye was intense.

"What of it?" He asked, his tone harsh.

"J-Just that it's an ideal Quirk for someone who wishes to become a hero." I said, getting his eye to widen.

Before sighing and shaking his head while walking away with a grunt.

S-Staring at him for another moment before taking off in search of those one pointers he mentioned.

I guess he probably doesn't have the best experience with others cause of his Quirks, suggestion and influencing based ones are sometimes looked down upon or considered villainous based Quirks.

Ridiculous notion aside, there had been notions of what damage they could do in the wrong hands.

Still I hoped that he could pass this exam as well...

(7:00 until the exam ends)

Scrap, the one pointers he mentioned were all scrapped at a crossroads.

The sounds of conflict were dying down in this area, so all of the villain bots were far away from here.

Letting out a sigh I began to jog around the street I order to find the conflict or at least a straggler robot amongst the ones running rampart.

"Wheyyyyy!"

What was that?

Coming to a stop I saw a bunch of robot's wrecked in the middle of a street. And in the middle of that was an examinee with spikey blond hair with black lightning like streaks in them.

He was walking in a circle, both hands making a chopping motion with him give a thumbs up position with a blank look on his face minus a wide smile.

I-Is he okay?

"Wheyyy!" He called out again as I hurriedly approached him.

N-No he wasn't.

Judging by the scorch marks on the robots surrounding him, he probably has some kind of electrokinetic Quirk.

Did he short circuit himself out as a cost.

"A-Are you okay?" I asked him.

"Whey Wheyy!" He said while waving his hands up, getting me to nod awkwardly.

O-Okay he still retains some cognitive functions despite possibly short circuiting his brain from Quirk overuse. N-Not sure if it was best leave him here incase a villain bot comes charging through before he regains use on all brain functions.

"F-Follow me please." I asked, the examinee just raising his hands before looking somewhere behind me.

"Wheyyyyy!" He said, raising his hands before I heard the clanging of metal.

Turning to see a two pointer running over the wreckage in the street directly toward us.

"P-Please wait a minute." I said to him before rushing towards the two pointer.

As it charged forward, I sprinted forward and observing from where it was charging from I got an idea.

Making a sharp turn I kicked up a fallen one pointer arm that the robot was about to step on, pushing it back and I held back a wince before delivering a jab to its forearm.

Denting and crumbling the plating as it tumbled back before trying to retaliate by swinging its neck. Letting out a grinding noise when I delivered a kick to the base of the neck.

The head and neck locking up as the two pointer tried to back away, but I ran and climbed onto its back before slamming the shut off switch. The robot powering down before it could try and swipe me with its tail, crumpling to the ground.

I let out a sigh of relief at that before jumping off.

Twelve points now.

"Yayyy!" I heard the blond examinee shouted out before I rushed towards him.

Right still needed to get him out of here..

"Alright here we-" I said before gently grasping him, before cutting myself off as green sparks filled my vision.

Before the examinee was covered in electricity, looking around in confusion as I felt a little drained.

"Wait the exam's still going on?" He asked before looking at me. "What did you do?"

"I-I don't know." I said honestly, wondering the same thing myself.

Could it be a reaction to my electroplaques and permeable barrier, the electricity isn't created by a Quirk. Maybe his electric Quirk also absorbs electricity instead of just discharging it and reacted to my own?

He created a small spark in his hands.

"Seems I have a little juice left, well whatever. How much longer do we have?" He asked.

Before I could answer we heard the crackle of loud speakers and I nearly had to cover my ears.

"Six minutes and 2 seconds left!" Present Mic shouted out before the loud speakers went silent, getting both of our eyes to widen.

"Gotta go, thanks for the charge!" The examinee shouted while waving off.

"I-It's alright!" I shouted back as we took off  in opposite directions.

I could try and figure out what happened later, right now I needed to hurry before the number of villain bots thins out completely. There was only about six minutes left and the exams were about half done.

I needed to hurry.

(3rd POV - U.A. Observation Room - 5:54 until the exam ends)

"So how many points do we reward for someone jump starting another examinee even accidentally?" Kayama asked Nezu as the principal cackled at the recording.

In all her years of teaching here at U.A. she had never seen a student do that to another before on the entrance exam. Reconstituting or charging up others with electric Quirks sure.

Accidentally jump starting one in a short circuiting state back to normal was a new one.

"I'll leave it up to you but a maximum 2 or 3." Nezu said, before turning into his chair. "So your opinion Kazama?"

The Monarch agent looked at a monitor of examinee with brown hair drill into a Victory with his arm.

"Have to say this exam is a bit more intense than the one from Titan's Academy. A little more through." Kazama said while shaking his head. "You can clearly see who has prepared and who hasn't. Can't compare them to trainee agents yet I can see some with potential already. Although I can see a risk or two already."

He looked at a monitor to a rather feral looking examinee currently tearing through villain bots with explosions, tearing through them before rushing to find the next.

That one had been tearing through villain bots since the start no matter if any other examinees were around. Only reason no one else had been caught in his onslaught was he deliberately gauged the intensity of his explosions to more minuscule level.

Kazama believed that if there were no rules against it, there would have been others accidentally caught in his crosshairs more than he would prevent it.

"Believe me I have plans to deal with those risks." Nezu said as he looked at the monitor. "However the greatest risks here, well I have no definitive idea how to deal with her without Izuku or Monarch's involvement."

The principal of U.A. said with a shudder before turning to Toshinori who watched from a monitor as Izuku managed to take down a Venator before taking off down the street.

"Toshinori." Nezu said, breaking the hero out of his musings. "You'll have the honors of releasing the Executors. Another minute or two should suffice."

"Right." He said with a nod before looking back at the monitors.

Wondering how all of the examinees would react when they were all unleashed. Sure he had an idea of what Izuku might do, but for the others.

In the face of such a danger many of them had never experienced, this would make them show their true selves.

(Izuku POV - U.A. Examination Ground: Battle Center B - 2:50 until the exam ends)

I ran up to a one pointer and before it could retaliate I struck its shut off switch, getting it to stall before falling over. Getting me to pant a little as I surveyed the surroundings for any more robots.

Managed to bring my score up to nineteen points yet after the halfway mark the number of villain bots functioning had decreased drastically.

That one pointer was the first villain bot I as able to defeat in about two minutes by finding it alone or without one of the other examinees destroying them right before I could get to them.

With the street I was on flooded with other examinees and the wreckage of countless villain bots scattered all over with the last villain in the area was just smashed through by Ida...

Wait were those exhausts in his calves?

And his surname...could he be related to-

No, questions for later.

Keep it for after the exams.

I could even spot the girl from earlier and the blond examinee I helped earlier, giving me a wave just now as I ran passed him.

Time was running out fast and I was starting to feel a little exhausted from all the running around nearly non stop. But I can't stop now, not until exam was over...wait a second...

Breaking myself out of my thoughts I came to a stop as I heard the sound of something rumbling.

Feeling the ground shaking from underneath my feet and seeing the glass in windows shaking and cracking from wahtever it was that was causing this...the orientation...

There was fourth type of villain bot, the zero pointer and it was supposed to be larger than the others...

I hadn't encountered it before so I could only guess that was the cause of the rumbling.

Yet if that was the cause, how big was it...

The area began to darkened, causing me to look up and gape at what I saw!

I-It was utterly massive! Perhaps too big to be deployed here!

The zero pointer was an utterly massive robot that I could only estimate to be at least 15 stories tall! A massive armored plated monstrosity with six visors for eyes, treads for feet, and large arms ending in four finger hands probably as big as car.

One crushing part of a skyscraper's roof that it was resting on just by moving!

It punched one of the buildings nearby and caused debris to rain down onto the street as the examinees around me began to flee as a massive cloud of dust flooded the street.

A-An overwhelming threat, an obstacle!

E-Exactly as Present Mic described it!

J-Just thinking what something like the zero pointer could do if it went on a rampage filled me with dread!

"Less than two minutes!" Present Mic's voice called over loudspeakers, shaking me up more.

O-Only two minutes left!

W-With the zero pointer and all the examinees scattered in it's wake it was going to be even more difficult to find any villain bots before time runs out...

I-I need to-

"Ow!"

I felt myself freeze up as I heard someone's voice.

N-No...

Turning around my fears were confirmed as the dust cleared to reveal the girl from earlier, her legs pinned under rubble and and struggling to get away. With the zero pointer rapidly approaching her and crushing everything everything under tread!

M-My spines twitched and I held back a wince as I dipped even more into One for All, my body starting to feel a little strain at 3% before sprinting off towards her.

She tried to twist he body to reach, but her fingers could barely reach it when I finally got to her.

"I-It's okay, everything will be alright." I said, trying to give her a reassuring smile to her surprise. "I-I'll get you out of this."

She gave a shaky nod as I bent down and began to try and lift the rubble off of her.

O-Only it was heavier than I expected!

E-Even with 3% I could barely budge it! W-With the zero pointer quickly gaining up on us as well!

C-Calm down, I just needed to get enough leverage to free her leg.

H-Here goes nothing...

Delving deeper into One for All I felt it pulse and the strain grew stronger as I delve into what was probably 4%.

P-Pushing through the strain and trying to ignore the pain as I delved further into One for All! M-Managing to push the wall up just a bit more.

T-The rumbling of the zero pointer growing stronger and it kicked up another cloud of dust as it smashed part of a building with its arm!

A-Almost there, just a little bit more!

R-Reaching what I think was 6% I couldn't contain it any longer and yelled out in pain as I could feel something in my body beginning to crack! I-Ignoring the pain as I managed to move the piece upward enough for the girl to pull her leg out.

F-Finally I let  the rubble fall back down once she crawled from out, panting as I turned down One for All back to 2%.

D-Despite that the pain throughout my body didn't subside at all, it hurt a little even just moving.

C-Couldn't care less about that right now.

"A-Are you okay?" I asked the girl as she clutched one of her legs.

"I-I'm fine." She said with a shakily nod. Before gaining a panicked expression as the shadow of the  loomed over us!

S-Seeing that it was pulling back for a punch! E-Even if it was aiming for one of the buildings on the street, it would bring down a lot of rubble down onto us with a single swing!

Cutting off the flow of One for All before I felt it pulse into my legs, delving deeper into it before I jumped into the air!

I-It hurt so much, but I can't stop now.

I pulled back my right arm, plunging even deeper into the feeling of One for All. Feeling the warm sensation in my body increase in my arm as well as the zero pointer's arm approached the apex of it's swing!

N-Now or never!

"Smash!" I yelled out as slammed my fist into the bottom of zero pointer's arm.

Blowing it up with a little bit of smoke and gusts to wind as the plating warped and bent in half before snapping! The hand flying back and smashing into the face, causing the zero pointer to fall back with explosions occurring along its frame.

Y-Yet I could care less as I plummeting in a free fall as the pulse of One for All and that warm feeling faded, tears streaming from my eyes as I clutched my shoulder.

M-My right sleeve was torn  off showing most of my arm was swollen and purple, flopping in the wind as my knuckles were bleeding and cut up. L-Looking to see my feet were the same way.

S-So I was falling with a broken arm and two broken feet with no way of stopping!

"Less than a minute left!" Present Mic's voice announced over the loudspeakers.

L-Less than a minute-

No, there was no time...

W-Wait, this could work.

I pulled back my left arm as the ground rapidly approached.

J-Just need to time it right, this will break my left arm yet this save me from a whole lot-

I was broken from my thoughts as someone slapped me in the cheek, before feeling weightless. Floating in the air just above the street, seeing the girl on a piece of a three pointer looking like she was struggling as it hovered above the ground.

T-That works as well.

"Release!" She shouted out, clasping her hands. Canceling her Quirk and the two of us landed on the ground as gravity was reapplied to us.

With a groan I pick myself up to my knees while my right arm just hung uselessly as I clutched it. Everything hurts, but it could have been so much worse...

"T-Thank you." I managed to say to the girl.

Only for her to look up while covering her hands, before throwing up onto the ground!

W-Wait why was she throwing up an array of colors as well!

S-Side effect of her Quirk is probably nausea from removing gravity on objects. C-Could not explain why it just looked like she was puking up colors when the light faded as she finished.

"A-Are you okay?" I asked her as she groaned.

"N-Not really, I should be asking you that." She groaned while I nodded and tried to shuffle over, trying to ignore my feet dragging limply across the ground.

"N-No, everything hurts but I'll be alright." I said with a wince, trying to ignore the pain all over.

"Times up!" Present Mic yelled out, getting me to freeze up in shock.

I-It was over, the exam was over...and I only managed to get nineteen points...

A-All this time training and everyone's efforts for this day...All Might, Mom, Erika, Monarch...all it got me was to just pass the starting line...

Nineteen points and a broken arm and feet...hopefully that can at least qualify for the hero or general course...

"Looks like you went overboard with your Quirk." I heard Recovery Girl said, breaking me out of my thoughts to see her standing in front of me. "How did this happen?"

"I-I did." I said while looking away. "I-I saw her in danger from the zero pointer and used to much power."

Hearing her sigh, I felt her kiss my forehead and myself becoming even more drained as I felt the pain go away and everything aligning itself properly in moments.

Flexing my fingers on my right hand as I got up groggily, seeing her treat the girl. Her getting up tiredly before Recovery Girl handed her what I presumed to be gummies.

I guessed right when she approached me and deposited them into my hands a few moments later.

"Don't eat these all at once, they will exhaustion. Next time please make sure to take care of yourself young man before you do something like that." Recovery Girls said, getting me to nod before she walked off.

Eating a gummy as I took a step before I began to stumble and nearly fell over again.

Until that girl caught me again.

"I've got you." The girl said I felt my face heat up as she helped set me up. "Do you think that you can walk on your own?"

"M-Maybe..." I said honestly before she let go of my and I took another step. Still a little wobbly but I managed to regain my footing and letting out a sigh of relief. "L-Looks like I can."

"That's good to hear, so your Quirk takes a lot out of you too?" The girl said with a concerned tone as we began to walk towards the exit, to which I nodded.

"Y-Yeah just when push it too far." I said, getting her to look worried. "B-But it was worth it to make sure you were okay."

It took me a moment to realize what I said as both our faces turned red

W-Why did I say it like that!

"I-I'm glad to hear it." She said while the both of us were looking away from each other. "S-Still thank you for earlier."

"Y-Your welcome." I said while taking in a breath.

Couldn't get a chance to do this earlier...now or never...

"A-Anyway I never got your name earlier." I said, trying to it together. "M-My name is Izuku Midoriya, it's nice to meet you."

The girl stared at me for a second before she smiled brightly.

"I'm Ochaco Uraraka, nice to meet you too." She said, extending a hand. I-I stared at it for a moment before shaking it. "You alright Midoriya, you're shaking quite a bit?"

"I-I'm just a little nervous." I admitted while looking down. "I-I'm worried that I couldn't get enough points, that after everything I couldn't make that. T-That the faith everyone has-"

"Put into you to follow your dreams would go to waste." Uraraka finished with a small smile before she looked down herself. "I think that I can understand the feeling, did you manage to score any points?"

"Y-Yes, nineteen before the zero pointer showed up." I said, getting her to nod.

"Twenty-eight so your score is not that far off from mine, hopefully we have enough points to pass." Uraraka said clasping her fingers together before smiling again. "But I think that you saving me from the zero pointer should count for something."

"M-Maybe, but so would you saving me from falling down would count as well." I said, getting Uraraka to nod before I smiled a bit. "Yet I do know one thing."

"What is that?" She asked while tilting her head.

"Hopefully if not enough for the hero course our scores either both or yourself could enter the general education course, working for a chance to move to the hero course in a few weeks." I said with a smile.

"So even if you don't make, you'll just try again right." Uraraka said with a determined expression. "Well if you don't make it at first, I know you can make it."

"T-Thank you." I said with smile, wiping a tear from my eye as we made it back to the entrance gate. Uraraka nodding as we walked under it and out to the bus.

I-I think I was starting to get better with talking to others, it was helped that Uraraka seems so nice...if I didn't pass the exams there was at least one consolation. H-Hopefully if I do get into general course, I'll get my a chance to enter the hero course at the Sports Festival...

All Might would know, but can't tell me or any of us anything.

So it will be a week for sure until I knew anything for sure, until then I'll just have to prepare myself for whatever the results maybe...I gave it my all for this exam, I can just hope that it is enough...

But I at least know that Erika has/will make it depending if she had completed the physical portion of it already or sometime soon, it will probably be a while before she will be finished.

So it will be quite a bit before I can see her again.

Enough time to help work on talking with others...and to call mom when I get back to the main building and change out of these clothes. I promised her to call after the exam...

I was not looking forward to telling her what happened with the zero pointer at all...

(3rd POV - U.A. Observation Room - Same Time)

Toshinori sighed out as the teachers in the room began to work on finishing the various calculations of rescue scores real quick before heading out to perform other duties on campus including helping to oversee the departure of examinees from the school.

According to Nezu every year there was always a least a few small handfuls of them that had a tendency to wander into areas where they shouldn't be.

True to word not even a minute later and he had already seen Aoki stopping a young man from wandering off from his group getting off the bus, to the principal's enjoyment.

Toshinori just shook his head and looked at the monitor at Izuku and smiled.

Shame he couldn't say anything to him or Inko for a week, but it would be worth it.

Nearly had a heart attack when he broke his arm destroying the Executor, it took Nezu and Kazama to convince him not to rush out of the room in a hurry and remind him that he had to be impartial and they already had measures for such an incident.

Which wasn't needed as the brown haired girl he saved Izuku before he could implement a rather risky strategy that would have broken his other arm.

Inko was not going to like this...he'll call her in a minute.

Still he was proud for Izuku for coming so far.

"The problem child still needs some work." Aizawa said, getting Toshinori's attention. "He was decent until the Executor. Try and work on having him not furthering shattering his body in an overwhelming situation."

With about a week and a half until the school year starts, there would be sometime to work on it.

Aizawa didn't expect much or at all, but best to start tempering that issue before the problem child has to use One for All in more active solutions constantly. If he is nature as a trouble magnet didn't rear its ugly head before then.

He was not going to tempt Murphy.

Toshinori once again just sighed and nodded.

"I was going to spend sometime doing so starting tomorrow, along with showing him another side of heroics before the term starts." Toshinori said before giving his soon to be coworker a small smile. "So what did the brothers have to say?"

"Hopper's Cafe will officially accept your event and will call your 'secretary' later in the afternoon, probably Ichiro." Aizawa said, getting Toshinori to cough up some blood while nodding.

"Now, now you two can focus on that later, there is some work to be done and you have a call to make Toshinori. Focus on the details of the examinees first except for any immediate concerns." Nezu said, with Aizawa just sighing and going back to business.

"Just one question, what about Erika? Unless she is done with with the interview process has already started I would doubt she would stick around for long without slipping away." Toshinori inquired.

"Already have that arranged, pulled a few strings as we are at the halfway mark for the practice exams. Erika is already in the first round of interviews and have her with Ryo, he would be better at calming her down than a clone and less of a risk of breaking out before the interview is done. So they should be ready to leave U.A. around the same time." Nezu said happily.

"For the discovery in China tell her and him just we found something and either Aoki, Director Serizawa, or Deputy Director Graham will tell them what we found." Kazama  said getting Toshinori to nod as he began to exit the room.

"Plus tell her the cinnamon roll might be too sweet for his own good." Nemuri said, pointing at a moniter showing Izuku talking with the brown haired girl he saved earlier.

They looked like they were getting along well, really well.

Okay it be a bit of a jump to conclusions, but Inko would probably want to hear about this.

He could only cough up blood and nod as he exited the room, much to her amusement.

Kazama shook his head at that before facing Cementoss.

"Is it always like it here? It's a change of pace from most of Monarch, but better than Hollywood." Kazama said, getting the literature teacher to shake his head.

Things and conditions had been better there than in the pre-Quirk era, but there doens't seem to be at least an incident involving something causing problems there being broadcasted every other week.

"You get used to it, although the fact everything related to Erika was enough to cause a seismic shift through everything. We're just picking up we're we left off." Cementoss said, getting the Monarch Agent to shrug.

"Fair enough." He said before going to look back at the monitors, sighing at what he saw before pulling out a radio. "Aoki is Alfred done with his test, I think I see some examinees sneaking out the gate towards the barracks outside U.A.."

"He is, I'll fly nearby to make sure he doesn't scare them too much after informing him." Aoki said, getting Agent Kazama to sigh.

This was going to be a long couple of weeks...

(Another part of U.A. - 15 minutes later)

"He did what?!" Erika roared out, getting Hound Dog to let out a low growl. Her claws and fangs sprouting as she started to break down into spores.

Thankfully the air conditioner in the room was on full force, slowing her efforts down momentarily.

"Yagi has already informed his mother about it and Izuku is already healed up and is under observation. He should be exhausted but alright. You can see him after this. You're worried I know, he pushed himself too far to save someone yet he is still alive. If he passes into the hero course or not he will need help to lower the risk of this repeating in the future from not just you but everyone else." Hound Dog said sternly.

Erika let out an irritated growl and her vines snapped closed, but her body reformed as the spores dispersed.

Sitting back in her chair letting out a growl as her vines snaked back into her body with a sigh.

It had been a few minutes since she had been pulled into the interview room, after the fifth batch of examinees completed the course 10 of the one's completed were told to get dressed as they were for the first round of interviews, doing them 10 at a time.

Although for Erika this was more a familiarity than anything yet she was supposed to spend sometime in here to keep up with appearances. So mainly Hound Dog was just checking on her until he was told that the regular Entrance Exams had already wrapped up.

Like he had expected Erika had not taken the news well, although the confirmation of everything settling down seemed to hold her back for now.

"What exactly happened during the exam?" Erika asked, getting Hound Dog to sigh.

"He pushed himself too far to save a girl that had saved him from tripping and possibly hitting his head before he could even enter U.A. from camera footage." Hound Dog said, getting Erika to let out a small growl. "Her legs were pinned under rubble and he pulled it off of her before going overboard to destroy it, the obstacle too close and Shuzenji said the girl's leg was sprained would make it difficult to escape without accidentally getting caught in the devastation."

While they already had some safety measures in place, he already heard Power Loader grumbling on fixing the programming for the Executors yet again in as many months to lessen the risk of something like this repeating.

"He said he would try not to hurt himself too much, yet he threw caution to the wind to save someone...honestly I shouldn't have expected anything less from Izuku." Erika sighed out with a smile.

It was a risk she was aware was going to happen that he can only control so much of One for All, yet better here than anyway else like these past few months.

Still seems there will be quite a few things to work on in the coming time, for the both of them.

"Seems like Midoriya's mumbling is infectious." Hound Dog said, Erika letting out a growl as she pictured an amused smirk under his mask. "You are right, use this time for both of you to help pace yourselves. Especially yourself, you've only adjusted to this world briefly."

"I intend to." Erika said, and she meant it.

Only having regained a human form a little over a week ago and also having to brush up on a lot of what she missed while preparing for the exam or helping Izuku. She would take things a little slower this time before heading to U.A..

"Glad to hear it Erika, you also mentioned that you have found a few people that you've grown acquainted with during the exams?" Hound Dog inquired, getting her to nod.

"I have, yet still no way to communicate with anyone after this." Erika said, getting Hound Dog to nod.

Kind of difficult to find a phone for her...one that she won't accidentally crush with her strength, vines, or sitting on it, be constricted or bite in half by the vines, punctured by her claws, still work if exposed to any of the properties of her sap, and still functioned through interference from Erika's spores.

With so many Quirks there was big profit in phone customization to make sure they didn't break accidentally. Yet with more customizations needed the more expensive it could end up.

Last she knew Monarch was handling that yet it was a low priority considering everything else, not that Erika minded all that much. She was still learning on how to work the functions of these new phones.

A lot better than the ones in her time.

"That could be a problem, maybe try and see it they could be willing to give their numbers for you to contact through Midoriya. At least until you can receive a phone, I'll run it by Aoki or Nezu later. That is if they wish." Hound Dog said.

With Erika sighing at that, dreading how Izuku would react to Tokage.

She spent some time with her and Yaoyorozu and discussed a few things, Tokage seemed especially eager when knowing that Izuku had a 'Kaiju Quirk'.

Erika wasn't sure he could handle her if left alone...

"I'll ask, but I do know one is eager." Erika growled out, getting Hound Dog to sigh before checking his phone.

"First rounds of interviews are almost done and released some of them already, well the ones with rides on the way currently. I'll let you head out in a minute or two, but first would you like to check how far Ms. Midoriya is from U.A.? I would imagine she should be close by soon." Hound Dog said, getting Erika to smile.

"Yes please." Erika said getting him to nod as he began to type away on his phone.

Just a bit more time until she could leave and until she could be with Izuku again.

That and when she got the chance, she wasn't letting go of him until they got home.

(Izuku POV - U.A. Entrance Gate - 9 minutes later)

I was feeling less tired than I was much earlier, then again I had spent quite some time here at outside in the sun after eating those gummies. I suppose that was a perk of photosynthetic blood, really need to look more into that...

Currently I was just busy writing into my notebook writing down various details on the new Quirks and speculations I had seen at the exams today. Almost done with them...

Going to need a new notebook too, this one is nearly filled...going to try and see if we have any spares or ask mom about it.

She was not happy but more worried when she heard what happened like I had thought...was relieved that I was okay now. Though she did perk up when I mentioned about Uraraka...

M-Maybe a little too much.

Yet she did seem happy that I had met someone like Akatani and Koda the other day and getting along.

That and no matter how much I might have scored on the exam or if I did manage to pass into the hero course or not...she was proud of me for going so far...

K-Kind of happy to have heard that from her...and now I'm starting to tear up again.

Wiping the tears away I pulled out my phone and still nothing new from Mom other than she was close. Or no sign of Erika either so far. Perhaps she was still being held up in the exams for a bit more, yet heard from Hound Dog that she should be here soon.

After the exam I talked with Uraraka a bit, mainly on our favorite heros and a bit about ourseleves.

S-She seemed especially interested in the notes that I had written about Thirteen. Also seems like I was getting less and less anxious about showing others my notes lately. That others actually liked them and didn't find it weird.

G-Getting used to it still, but it felt nice...

Uraraka left back to the exam grounds a bit earlier to take care of something  as she had a while until her bus arrived. Honestly might or might not see her again if mom arrives soon...

Which is something that I have been more or less prepared for-

"Midoriya there you are." I heard someone said, breaking me from my musings to see Akatani walking up to me with a bag slung over his shoulder. "So how'd you think you did?"

"I-I think I did decently, I'm not sure if I can make it into the hero course or not." I admitted, closing my notebook and getting him to nod

"Same, sounds like you have a backup plan already then." Akatani asked, getting me to nod. "If I don't make it myself I'm going to enroll Ketsubutsu Academy if not, what about you?"

"T-The general course before trying to get in through the Sports Festival." I said, Akatani looking a little surprised before chuckling.

"Difficult path you planning there Midoriya, yet I think you'll manage. Considering your girl is one heck of a beast, I'd say you have some pretty good odds." Akatani said with a smile, getting me to sputter as my face turned red.

D-Did he really just say that?!

E-Erika isn't my-

"S-She is not my girl-" I tried to say but the words died in my throat from embarrassment as Akatani just chuckled.

"Fine, fine I can see how it is. Still I believe that you have nothing to worry about with her." Akatani said with a smirk while I tried to maintain my cognitive functions as my face turned red.

T-Took me about a minute or two before I calmed down and my face cooled off.

"Sorry if I pushed that to far, anyway did you see Koda at all during the exam?" Akatani asked, getting me to shake my head.

"N-No I didn't manage to spot him at all, maybe he was in the auditorium. But there was too many people to tell if he was close by." I said, getting him to nod.

I didn't spot him at all on the bus to the battle ground and I tried to keep an eye on him during exam to no results.

Was hopping to see him there too...

"Shame, seemed like a good kid too. Maybe he did make it but who knows." Akatani said with a shrug while I nodded before his phone vibrated. "Looks like my ride is here, anyway just want to thank you for pointing out the figure the other day. My brother didn't have it and loves it."

"It's no problem, just glad your brother appreciates it." I said happily.

Nice to know someone appreciates something like that.

"Anyway take care and good luck Midoriya, you're going to need it!" Akatani called out with a grin as he waved and walked down the steps.

W-What did he mean by that?

"Midoriya did you know him?" I heard Uraraka say from behind me, nearly getting me to jump and my spines to raise as I turned to see her. "Sorry about that." She said sheepishly.

"I-It's alright, I just didn't hear you. M-Met him a few days ago and knew he was taking the Recommendation Exams." I said, getting her to nod. "Y-You got everything?"

"Yup took care of everything I needed to." Uraraka said happily. "If he was from the Recommendation Exams do you think that this Erika would be done soon."

I-I told her a bit about Erika as why I was still waiting here while she went to take care of something, mainly about how I helped her and how my mom is her legal guardian.

 S-She seemed curious about her.

"P-Probably I do mom has heard from her so it could be-" "So he really does have spines." I was cut off with a yelp as someone pinched one of my spines.

Getting Uraraka to look surprised as my vision was filled with green sparks followed by feeling a bit drained a moment later.

O-Okay what just happened...

"Hey there." I heard someone speaking, but from below. Feeling a weight down on one of my hands.

N-Nervously I looked down to see resting on it was the head of girl with long moss colored wavy hair and large green eyes. Grinning at me with long fanged like teeth.

B-Before I could even react a vine grabbed her by the hair before the head floated up and away.

"I warned you not to do that Tokage." I heard Erika said in an annoyed growl, getting me to let out a sigh of relieve as I turned towards her.

Seeing Erika with a body without hands and head before they reattached, next to them was a young woman around my height with black spikey hair in ponytail with a bang framing the right side of her face.

A-All of them were beautiful...wait what?

"Couldn't help it, he looked so easy to mess with." The fanged girl, Tokage said with a grin, getting Erika to let out a growl as she shook her head.

"Sorry about her Izuku, glad that you are alright now." Erika said with a small smile, getting me to nod.

"Y-Yeah I'm doing better now." I said. "I-I can see you met some people at the exams."

"Indeed, I think I made some friends...I think so at least." Erika said, her face flushing a little. With the ponytailed girl and Tokage smiled and grinned in response respectfully.

"Well I suppose that would be a fair assessment." The ponytailed girl said.

"Glad to know you cared that much Erika, though it seems like you both are not the most social of people." Tokage said, detaching her body to avoid a whack from a vine.

W-Well she wasn't exactly wrong.

M-More for myself than Erika at least...

"Seems like you had made a friend as well." Erika said, looking at me and Uraraka. Who had been quiet the whole time alongside me, now looked at me curiously.

"W-Well I would like think so, yet I'm not sure-""Of course." Uraraka said, cutting me off with a smile to my surprise.

S-She considered me to be a friend already...this was new...

K-Kind of happy about it too...

"Midoriya are you okay?" Uraraka said, getting me to feel nod as I smiled at her.

"I am, just happy to hear it." I said truthfully with a smile, getting her to nod as her cheeks seemed to redden even more.

"You weren't kidding about his smile, it's almost too bright." Tokage said with a grin, getting both me and Erika to look away alongside the ponytailed girl. I think I heard her said something but I couldn't hear it. "Heard a lot about you, anyway name is Setsuna Tokage. Awesome to meet someone with a Kaiju Quirk twice in one day."

"K-Kaiju fan I take it." I said, Tokage's grin widening even more as she floated around me.

"You have no idea. Considering your spines, pupils, and coloration of your hair your Quirk is related to some degree of Gojira correct?" She questioned much to my surprise.

"P-Partually." I said, Tokage's grin to widen.

"A hybrid Kaiju Quirk, those are even rarer. Interesting." Tokage said as her body reformed as the pony tailed girl steeped forward.

"My name is Momo Yaoyorozu, it's nice to finally meet you." She said with a smile.

"N-Nice to met you too." I said, seeing Uraraka walking up to Erika who stared at her curiously.

"Midoriya has told me a bit about you, nice to meet you Takegumi. I'm Ochaco Uraraka." She said, Erika still staring at her for a few more moments.

Before giving her a small smile.

"Erika, just call me Erika please." Erika said, getting Uraraka to  nod and myself to smile.

It was nice to see Erika getting along with others, honestly I was worried for a bit considering her usual temperament towards those she is unfamiliar with. Looks like I had little to worry about in that regard.

Mostly anyway, I'm just happy she is getting along with others.

"Izuku, mind if I call you that." Tokage said as she approached me, speaking up before I could respond and splitting up one of her hands into multiple pieces. "Erika said that you were good at taking apart a Quirk. Think you can guess how my works?"

It took me a second and I swore a green spark appeared over my head for a moment as I comprehended that.

S-Someone my age was asking me about their own Quirk...this was new...

Looking at her eager face I sighed and nodded.

A-Alright, here goes nothing...

"From what I have observed so far you can detach or breakdown your body into pieces similar to how Erika does to spores. Of course not like them yet you seem to be able to split your body into small enough pieces, perhaps with a limit to them as well. Sharing some kind of psychokinetic body between your body as a whole that allows your parts to function normally despite how many pieces there are and a distance between each other. And able to be float or levitate your pieces however you wish, albeit perhaps in a limit from each other over a distance. Factoring in you are a recommendation examinee you must have an excellent degree of control of your own Quirk. Considering the versatility it could be excellent for surveillance on an area, surprise or ambush, or a way to strategize from a distance." I said before writing it all in my notebook before looking at a stunned looking Tokage. "Does your Quirk also have regenerative properties for your similar to Erika's spores if anything happens to a detached part?"

She was stunned for a moment before grinning and chuckling.

"You are correct and you hit it right on the head about Lizard Tail Splitter, Erika was right about you. Doesn't explain the notebook." Tokage said with a smile.

I guess I managed to explain all of that without muttering.

Though what was that she mentioned about the notebook?

"That was quite an impressive deduction Midoriya." Yaoyorozu said with a small smile.

"He did the same thing when we met earlier, although it was easier to say this time." Uraraka said with a smile as Erika nodded.

"Figured he would." Erika said with a smile while I looked away before feeling my phone vibrate. Taking it out to read it while Erika shook her head.

Already figuring out what was happening.

Mom was here.

"L-Looks like it's time for us to leave Erika, it was nice meeting you all." I said as me and Erika began to walk to the gate.

"Take care and I do hope you all pass too." Erika said, waving a vine.

"I hope so too and it was nice to meet you both." Yaoyorozu said with a smile.

"See ya later." Tokage said while waving a detached hand.

"And thank you again for earlier, I hope-" Uraraka said before shaking her head. "No I know we'll see each other again soon Midoriya. Until then take care." Uraraka said as both me and Erika left, myself waving goodbye as we walked out the gate

S-She hoped that we will meet again soon...I suppose I'll truly know in a week from now...

I-It would be nice to see them and Akatani again, or Koda and Shishida who seemed nice enough when I met them, and Ida too I believe.

"You're hoping to meet them again." Erika said as we walked down the stairs past the gate.

"Y-Yes, them and a few others I met during exams. A-All of them seemed nice enough, but I'll guess we'll have to wait what see what happens." I said as Erika nodded. "I take it you hoped for the same thing with Yaoyorozu and Tokage?"

"The former more so than the latter. She reminds me a lot like you Izuku, both kind and smart. Hoped to stay in contact yet she seemed a little nervous when I explained why I didn't have a phone." Erika said, letting out a little growl and sounding a little disappointed.

Guess Erika was looking forward to that, though I could understand Yaoyorozu. We had only just met.

"Hopefully we'll see her again" I said, getting Erika to nod.

Before she seemed to let out an irritated growl and something tapped my shoulder.

Turning to see a disembodied pair of fingers and a piece of a hand, dropping a piece of paper and giving a mock salute before floating off before Erika's vine could whack at it.

"I-I think Tokage accepted." I said, Erika sighing as she retracted her vines except one.

A-All that was on the paper was a number, the words 'Keep in touch, both of you', and just her name.

"Tokage said maybe later, didn't think like this." Erika said as a vine grabbed the paper and pocketed it.

"A-At least you'll be able to talk to her soon." I said, trying to keep myself composed at someone, especially a girl just gave me their phone!

T-This is a first, I don't know how to handle this...

"I'll do that whenever I feel like, yet there is something we need to talk Izuku." Erika said.

Quickly finding a vine wrapped around my shoulders and the end of it nuzzling against my check.

N-Not again...

"E-Erika-" "You said that you would try not to get hurt and I hear that you broke not only entire arm from the shoulder down but both feet and perhaps the other arm if you hadn't been caught." Erika said while shaking her head while looking at me with concern. "Yet I doubt that would have stopped you in the first place."

"N-No it wouldn't have..." I admitted, trying to look away.

Only for my face to redden as Erika to press herself against me and found another vine wrapped around me.

"But I wouldn't have expected anything less from you, risking yourself to save someone. Going beyond your limits to do so." Erika said while shaking her head. "Next time please try not to do so on a simulated test like today."

"I'll try." I said honestly as Erika speedster herself from me with a smile, retracting her second vine while the other one returned to nuzzling against me briefly. "Mom already said as much, there is still sometime until we get the results. More than enough to get a better handle on One for All before then...hopefully."

Found out that even going to what I assumed to be over 6% channeled throughout my entire body was agonizing. The stress and strain was only aggravated when I destroyed the zero pointer.

Even now I can feel my body ache even after the pain has completely gone away and  my broken bones healed.

Still much to work on with it...

"True Izuku, but after a bit of rest. Maybe a few days." Erika said surprising me. "You've been training for this day for ten months and besides I haven't had enough time to get used to this era besides what was need for the exams."

I thought about it for a moment before nodding in agreement.

Erika had a point, especially these past two months. Things had seemed to be going almost nonstop while preparing for the exams with curing Erika and worrying about the Kaiju or Shiten.

And even after this past week was mainly about getting Erika caught up or managing to get a better degree of control over One for All...

Besides Mom probably would say the same thing and All Might has told me to pace myself. Plus taking off my mind of the exam results and to worry less about them...

"I-Is the anything in mind Erika?" I asked, getting her to shake her head.

"Nothing, just some more time learning about this modern era, but we'll figure it out. " Erika said looking away before I felt something wet dropping on my shoulder.

Glancing to see that her vine was drooling sap and her looking away from me with a growl.

Which I matched with my own.

"F-For now let's try and ask mom about somewhere to eat." I said as the vine retracted back and picked me up, not struggling at all as Erika picked up her pace.

"Agreed." Erika said. "And I'm not letting you go."

"I-I figured." I said, a small smile as I could see mom's car in the distance.

It has been a long morning and I was still uneasy about how well I did at the exams, yet no matter the results one way or another I will enter the hero course with Erika even if it takes longer.

That and there were now a few people I wished to meet at school again soon...something I hadn't experienced in a long time...

All that I could do now was wait to see what happens next.

(3rd POV - Cánshén Temple - Cangshan Mountains - Yunnan Province, China - 4 hours later)

"Director Serizawa, Vice Director Graham welcome to the Cánshén Temple. I thought Regional Director Chen would be with you?" Agent Wright said as both of them were lowered to the temple's entrance safely.

"Unfortunately her transport had to stop to refuel, yet she should be here with the hour." Graham said, getting Agent Wright to nod.

With the discovery of the shrine and after more of the blockade was cleared out, they had perhaps the most complete grasp of an idea of what a Kaiju ecosystem was like from the murals inside thousands, perhaps ten-twenty thousands years old. If not a little older.

The biggest archeological find to Kaiju ever.

Of course there was many dedicated to Mothra and Battra, but the murals contained depictions of other Kaiju.

Ones they have seen and have not.

"And I thought Agent Xue was supposed to see us here or did that change?" Graham asked, getting Agent Wright to nod.

"He said for me to change shifts briefly, saying he will assist Dr. Shí for a bit. Until I lead you to them." Agent Wright said, getting them both to nod.

"Very well, what is the status of removing the barricade?" Director Serizawa asked Wright lead them inside.

"Almost complete, just a few places on the floor or ceiling being removed as we speak. Kept the murals in here near completely intact from being so well sealed. Dr. Shí does inquire when we'll get all the equipment to properly preserve them considering the climb down here?" Agent Wright asked as they looked at the entrance hallway.

"Everything should be shipped by tomorrow to the province, but will probably take longer to bring them down from the mountains." Serizawa said, getting Wright to nod.

Passing through the entrance hall they noted the mural of the Gojira and three horned Kaiju species fighting that Wright and Shí first reported. To think of another such species since the Kong's could rival them...

Among the carvings in the entrance besides both species, Mothra, and Battra were more of Kaiju they were familiar with.

Anguirus, Rodan, Baragon, and fauna similar to what was observed on Skull Island albeit some differences such as the Sker Buffalo and Spirit Tiger. Even a few depictions of Kong albeit more rustic brown fur coloration.

Similar such images and the corpse of an aged specimen were found in Borneo in the Age of Kaiju in the 1990's freshly deceased. The first and only King found elsewhere in the world not fossilized.

While the ones they were more unfamiliar with were mainly smaller in scale. A species of crab like creatures feasting on trees, a larger lizard like creature that Graham thought its face reminded her of a bulldog, and one that Serizawa actually recognized.

"Nozuki." He said, pointing to the depictions of a large cobra like Kaiju fighting a Kong...losing badly.

"You recognize that one?" Wright asked, not one of the scientist initially brought on could find a record on it and several other Kaiju.

"Indeed, the only fossil we have is identified is part of the hood. Yet the image matching a cave painting by a hunter gathering civilization from the Middle Jōmon period on the island of what would be known as Benashī off of Kyūshū. Fossil dates to around the same time, they saw it as a god or spirit that emerged during monsoons while devouring a few of them or anything else that crossed its path. Carbon dating from the fossil and the youngest dating artifact around a 400 year difference between its death and their extinction or emigration from the island." Serizawa said, getting Graham to frown as she pulled out a tablet.

Something seemed a little off...wait there it is.

"Director, were there any Americans involved with the discovery in the 1970's." Graham said, getting Serizawa to sigh.

"We have Nozuki archived under Warbat again, I thought Martin fixed that issue decades ago. Find out who changed that name again and see if this was an accident." Serizawa sighed out.

Some American paleontologist among the excavations thought that it was a Kaiju bat and insisted the bones couldn't have been part of a snake aside from the cave painting. Even after being clarified it was only named Warbat in the Ameicas while the U.N. recognized it as Nozuki.

Just a similar situation how the West identifies Gojira as Godzilla, although the name was accepted worldwide.

Given the only evidence the Kaiju species was a rather obscure one they had on file it was probably easily overlooked.

"Hopefully they aren't under Director Shen, Dr. Shí is not going to like this." Agent Wright sighed out.

She had already named a few of the Kaiju here, was just waiting to see with certainty if any of them weren't already archived.

As they continued to walk both Serizawa and Graham noticed something, what were a majority of what were murals of Rodan were actually larger but with shorter wingspans. Some even smaller.

Yet each one held twin crests.

"Agent Wright, has Dr. Shí identified this Kaiju on the murals." Serizawa asked, pointing at one such image.

"No, took her a moment to figure out they and Rodan were different species. Possible a distant relative, there are a lot of them up ahead. So you are familiar with them Director?" He asked.

"Yes, though I do believe they match an old rumor from the Shizuoka Prefecture." Serizawa said while shaking his head.

They continued into a large chamber that split off into two ends into two smaller chambers, one marked by Battra and Mothra over the entrances.

Along the walls were similar murals to the entrance except with a lot less depictions of Gojira and Kong, although the former was depicted more in water along with Kaiju like Manda and Graham smiled at seeing Kameobas and one Dr. Mifune will be happy to hear about.

The rest were one's unfamiliar, several type of large fish like Kaiju and depicted in a river a large, black salamander like Kaiju nesting.

Other than that the three horned Kaiju seemed to reign supreme.

And in the shadows of the Kaiju, there was evidence of buildings and temples painted onto a murals. A civilization that lived among the Kaiju. There had been evidence of ancient civilizations living among Kaiju, yet it seemed like the ones who built this one and the Temple of the Moth was larger in scale.

"Wait isn't this the Kuang Xi Falls?" Graham said, an image of the mural not far from a shine seeming familiar to her.

"Indeed it it." Serizawa said as they heard someone quickly approaching them.

"This chamber seems to be more of a map, the civilization settling in what would become northern Vietnam and Laos, northeastern Myanmar, and southwestern China. The shrine itself was built to serve as a record of themselves, the other two chambers showing how their ended their civilization Director." Dr. Shí said before her tail wrapped around Agent's Wright arm and began to drag him back. "Come on I need you for a few measurements."

"Wait!" He called out as she dragged him off with a grin, uncaring about his protests.

Deputy Director Graham just sighed at that, having heard plenty of reports about her....overeagerness when it suits her. Shaking her head before noticing that Serizawa had left, heading into the Mothra chamber.

Following him into it, she noticed that the chamber had a small hall that was completely bare. Not a single mural painted onto it.

So she was surprised and jumped a little at seeing the image of a large golden dragon head poised to bite her.

Calming herself as it was just a mural, before seeing two more heads and realization dawned on her.

"Ghidorah." She breathed out.

"Indeed another civilization ravaged by the False King." Serizawa said, getting her attention and to look at the surrounding walls. "Yet not everything was not a hopeless as it seemed."

Marked with storm clouds, lighting raining down, and the devastation brought by Ghidorah. Most Kaiju were simply slaughtered in its wake.

The three horned species seemed to have fought back and was an image of a Ghidorah head snapping at a Kong. Yet more of the conflict between it and Gorjira.

But nearly parallel to the entrance was an image of the clouds clearing and of Mothra, seemingly helping humans depicting them to scale to her. Seeming evacuating them from the devastation.

And at the end she saw the altar she was familiar with at Temple of the Moth, on top of it a giant egg surrounded by humans with two that were probably the Shiboijin as for proximity and smaller portrayal.

"Ghidorah might have wiped out a majority of the civilization, yet it would seem like the survivors settled at the Temple of the Moth." Graham said before looking up.

Unlike the main chamber this one was domed, the mural showing a battle between Ghidorah, a Gorjira, Mothra, and Battra. The instance of the latter two joining forces seemed to have repeated.

If the image of the Temple of the Moth was any indication, she did not survive the battle and Ghidorah had been driven off at the least from Southeast Asia.

But there is something else painted on there...but was seemingly painted over completely in black. Whatever was originally there was she couldn't tell, except for what seemed to be a singular speck of gold that was perhaps at the head.

Whatever it was, even if it fought against Ghidorah this civilization seemed to try and erase this Kaiju from their mural.

"Director can you think of anything that could match what they blotted out?" Graham asked, getting Serizawa to shake his head.

"Unfortunately I can not, but if they would go to such lengths to erase it they must've feared it more than Ghidorah." He said, she could hear the dread in his tone despite trying to mask it.

Graham shuddered at that very concept.

Just what could be scarier than Ghidorah to them?

Her ears pricked before focusing her Quirk as she picked up some agents talking.

"How in the Dìyù can you handle her all the time Agent Wright? I'm exhausted and it's only been about 10 minutes working under her." She heard Agent Xue said.

"Honestly I have no idea sometimes, I just suppose I have the patience for it." Agent Wright said as their foot steps drew closer.

"Well I will have to give you that, I'm taking my break now. Lead the Directors to her." She heard Agent Xue say before shaking her head.

Turning back to see Serizawa looking back up at blot before shaking his head and facing her.

"Is something the matter Graham?" Serizawa asked.

"Nothing, it's just Dr. Shí is done. Lead the way Agent Wright." Graham said, getting the Monarch Agent to pause in his steps before turning step.

"Right this way." He said, walking out of the chamber. Graham just shook her head with a smile as Serizawa walked past her before she followed.

The other chamber hall was much the same, except in the chamber itself there were more personal milling around while Shí waited for them at the entrance.

"Director, Deputy Director it would seem this shrine is truly between two temples." She said, stepping aside and her tail pointed at the mural at the far end of the chamber.

Brightly lit and with some machinery at the end was an opposite image in the other chamber. No Kaiju, just people building a temple in a ruined landscape with what seemed to be the starting of agriculture around it. The only thing completed was an image of Battra on a completed wall being painted.

Given Battra's tolerance for humans it was expected, yet it would seem that more of Ghidorah's survivors had fled westward.

"And you have just calculated its location." Serizawa said, getting her to nod.

"Well based on the distance between here and the Temple of the Moth and applying it, if this second temple is still standing it will either be on the border or in the Kachin Hills of the Kachin State of Myanmar." Dr. Shí said, getting Serizawa to nod.

"Good, just wait this time before running in to check. Monarch has less clearance to operate there than in China. We won't be able to assist if you get in trouble." Serizawa said, getting her pout before nodding.

"Very well sir." She said, looking a bit dejected before smiling. "Besides there is still finding possible exact coordinates and so much to study."

"Best we can get out of her Director." Agent Wright said, getting her to pout.

"Excuse me, but Dr. Shí didn't you say both chambers had something to do with the end of the civilization, is this one the aftermath from Ghidorah?" Graham asked.

"Not quite, best you two check this out starting from here. Agent Wright said, leading them directly in.

What they saw was something neither expected.

Along the entrance was arcing lightning and storm clouds from Ghidorah, and three horned Kaiju species being struck by it and fleeing.

Yet the next major portions of the wall showed what could best be described as scorched earth, caused by said Kaiju.

Seemingly possessing an energy beam and brute strength they raised devastation in their path, killing and destroying everything in their path. Other Kaiju, humans, animals, mountains, rivers, forests, ect.

Nothing but scorched earth remained, the only thing that seemed to hinder them was a large amount for Gorjira after them and Battra.

With portions of the walls showing the clashes and Battra even saving humans, but that was possibly just collateral cause of the Kaiju's rampage. To at least save something from the devisatation. Further along showing the three-horned Kaiju and surviving Gojira driving the battle up to the Himalayas followed by by Battra.

"The next part is up on the roof." Dr. Shí said, her tail stretching up to the roof.

Up there the mural showed a devastating scene, a battle at night. With mountains collapsing and both Gorjira and three horned Kaiju species fighting while being buried underneath rubble and snow.

Back on the walls the murals closets to showing the survivors showed the immediate aftermath. On one part a heavily injured Battra flying away, given the emergence of it in 1992 it survived to lay an egg. On the other were three Gojiras heading to sea, one far smaller than the other two. Possibly the only other survivors.

What was even more shocking was the carefully painted positions on the sun and moon along the walls, meaning if this was accurate a good portion of mainland Southeast Asia was reduced to scorched ground in a matter of days by the three horned Kaiju species...

The conflicts in the Age of Kaiju were usually smaller than what they had seen. Each and everyone far apart from the other Kaiju for the most part. Yet this was seemingly a species wide conflict.

It would have taken centuries or at least a thousand years to recover even with the effects of plant life Kaiju radiation had on them.

An entire swath of land and and perhaps the only such ecosystem that was like Skull Island was wiped out when humanity could considered this a very distant memory.

"Either these Kaiju were controlled by Ghidorah or his attack was just a trigger. There is no telling from the murals alone, yet this species was clearly a rival to Gorjiras before." Serizawa said before shaking his head and facing Dr. Shí. "Any predictions for a location of this final battle?"

If there was anything even buried and such a discord would have been known before hand it would be best to check. Incase any surprises like the MUTOs or Ghidorah was.

No one wanted a repeated of either.

"My only guess would be Selginian Himalayas as one of the mountains appears to Mt. Shukra, directly underneath Venus." She said, pointing at a mountain on the roof directly above it. "If not somewhere in the heart of the Himalayas."

Selgina was a mountainous principality which admittedly was very small and the only things well known about it were an attempted coup in the 1960's where the then princess stayed in Japan for a time and Mt. Shukra.

The tallest mountain in the nation and was named after the Sanskrit word for Venus. During winter when the axis is tilted once or twice a year it becomes the best place to spot the planet and where it appears closest to Earth. An observatory built on it for study.

Surround by mountains on all sides it was a possible location, yet nothing concrete.

Serizawa sighed, he did order no stone unturned.

Just didn't expect this gem to have been underneath.

They needed to find this battle site, but it would be a mid priority.

"Investigation in Selgina will wait until the discovery of the third temple, it will take some time to gather clearance for you  to Myanmar. Continue to report on the discovery on everything directly to Region Director Chen until she, myself, or Graham says otherwise." Serizawa said, getting Dr. Shí to nod before he turned to leave. "Graham."

"Of course, just one moment." She said, getting Serizawa to nod as he began to walk out. "Do you have a name for this Kaiju species for now?"

Considering what they had seen on the murals, these three horned Kaiju was definitely an Alpha species. Considering the only ones before were Gorjira and Kong that was native to Earth or single sex like Mothra and Battra, a third was a major development.

"Me and a few of the agents believe these Kaiju were possibly the inspiration of Bagan, supposedly an ancient defender of China according to legend driven mad before being sealed away." Dr. Shí said before she went back to her work.

"Considering the mural, I can see it. Take care, you too Agent Wright." Graham said, getting a wave from both before following Serizawa. Bringing out her tablet.

Creating the notes to  for a file on Bagan after they leave the site.

Knowing any information found here would quickly be filled in with the hour.

Enter the main chamber to see Serizawa on his phone before turning it off.

"Our transport should be here in a few minutes, we already have a name for this new species?" Serizawa asked, getting Graham to nod.

"Bagan." She said, getting him to nod.

"A fitting name, for such a Kaiju species." Serizawa said while Graham sighed out.

"No closer to figuring out the Futuna Island Kaiju though, yet we've uncovered a lot today. Even a possible Monster Zero." She said with a shudder.

Monster Zero was the original name for Ghidorah and was being called as such for the primitive specimen in Antarctica. Aside from the Kaiju that was created from Erika which she refused to call Spacegodzilla as some others have began calling it, the blotted out Kaiju was perhaps the best successor for it.

And they were unsure if this one was similar to the others if it was not from Earth or not.

Any images in the Temple of the Moth were not a preserved as the shrine, so no clues there.

"Indeed, yet no further information. Yet this wellspring of information found today has provided more than enough information than what we gathered in years in one day. Perhaps our other efforts will bare fruit or not, but it will take weeks to follow on the leads provided." Serizawa sighed out. "Time we could lose at any time now."

"The sooner we can find and secure this battle site the better." Graham said while shaking her head. "I know sir, but it has waited undisturbed for countless millennia, a few weeks more to get other affairs in order should be enough."

Both knew the implications of what such a place could hold. Even if there was nothing left it would be best to secure it even if there was nothing due to the sheer resources and remains left behind.

Kaiju fossils were extremely valuable in this day and age especially in the black market.

Such a site would be the equivalent of several uranium mines to them.

"We better start to prepare to spread this information out." Serizawa said, better to start now to decrease the chances of it leaking out.

"I will start, you need to rest Director. You have a certain matter to deal with and you both have made some great progress recently. Wouldn't have it going to waste, you can wait a few hours." Graham said with a stern look, getting Serizawa to shake his head with a smile.

She did have a point.

"Very well after we return to the Argo, but you rest afterwards Graham." He said.

"Of course." She said with a smile. "Should we inform Dr. Shiragami and Midoriya learn about at least the basics, we are still working to grant the latter clearance."

"I'll leave that at your discretion Graham, I'll need to have a few words with Aoki about his inquiry earlier and personal suggestions for the outpost. That could wait until after the news of the discoveries circulates around Monarch." Serizawa said.

Graham nodded as the both of them went to do some work on their tablets while waiting.

Or at least that is what she thought.

After a minute she looked up to see Serizawa staring in the direction of the Battra chamber, looking deep in thought about something,

"Director, are okay?" Graham asked, breaking him from his thoughts.

"I'm fine, just perhaps more tired than I realized." Serizawa said, getting Graham to frown before nodding and going back to work.

Briefly glancing to see him gazing in the same place before returning to works.

He was not tired, she had been working alongside him long enough to realize it. He had something weighing on his mind and didn't seem like he wished to tell currently.

That would be a first for her in quite a long times.

She had to wonder, what was he thinking about?

(Chapter 17 end)

Hey guys Mukuro7 here and welcome back to the next chapter of The Hero and the Kaiju...about half as long as the last one to boot. Hopefully the next one is shorter still.

Alright once again down to the barebones for this chapter.

Both Erika and Izuku have undertaken their exams, with the former getting familiar with Momo and Setsuna while Izuku meeting quite a bit others and getting familiar with Ochaco. Admittedly making the start of quite a few connections that will be explored in the near future.

With Izuku especially wishing to go to U.A. while looking forward to meeting others, honestly a first for him.

Now for the practical exam both Izuku and Erika did pretty good.

And for Izuku's case, I've seen stories at him taking the exam with 4% where the villain points range from the 20's to 50's. So Izuku scoring 19 points at 2% should be more than reasonable. With the mutations his body has undergone meaning that he only broke his feet instead of both legs, admittedly not at 100%.

Yet still a pretty high percentage, still has a long way to go as he could barely handle the strain at 6%.

But as an aside from that he's also began to undergo the second major change I said he would. Kind of hinted when he destroyed the zero pointer as a blink and miss. Hasn't fully developed but the hints I've left throughout the whole story.

Can anyone guess it before USJ, I wonder...if not it wouldn't matter all that much.

A fun challenge I propose non the less.

With him and Erika the next chapter will take a week long break, as quite frankly for them it has been almost nonstop something since she arrived back at Earth. They deserve it.

Onto the U.A. Staff portion, not much more although All Might and Aizawa are finalizing everything to find some answers. That will be for the chapter after the next one.

Beside from that All Might just being proud of Izuku for making it so far.

Now onto Monarch...oh boy there is quite a bit to unpack.

What was discussed between Tōga and the Ashford twins...well I just happened to make an amazing discovery about Biollante that goes past the movie and even meta in real life. Should be real interesting to see implemented.

Anyway onto the main thing, the Cánshén Temple.

Honestly a tribute to both Mothra and Battra and that there is in fact two moth/silkworm gods in Chinese mythology. Well there are more but there is two main ones. Thought that was an interesting fact.

The temple, or more accurately a shrine is meant to be a time capsule for a lost period so to speak like in the Monsterverse.

As for all the Kaiju depicted well mainly Godzilla Kaiju I included a few others. Inspiration for this part is actually like Madigascar and Jackson's Skull Island. Both hold unique ecosystems that developed after being separated from the mainland.

Although humans lived in their shadow incase, a forgotten period ended before long  humans could truly record history.

Meant as a foreshadowing for future events and an example of the true devastation Kaiju could bring about when they don't have world destroying powers like Ghidorah.

Scorching a good chunk of Southeast Asia would do that for yeah.

Quite a few of the Kaiju there are bound to turn up, but two in particular to talk about. Monster Zero and Bagan.

For this Monster Zero...I'm going to be vague about it, other than what was in this chapter there will be on more hint. Nothing more or anything else, except it is one of the most dangerous Kaiju. Period.

Then to good old Bagan, the Kaiju that Toho has been shelving since 1980. Honestly a truly power Kaiju and considering the one in Super Godzilla was spliced with Godzilla and Ghidorah DNA, seems fitting for them to have been an Alpha species. I do wonder if Toho or Legendary are going to have this forgotten Kaiju in something sooner or later. Thought I would give them a nod here.

Along with the three Godzillas in the end, a nice little homage I suppose. Interested to see which guesses are which.

But I've think I said enough and we'll check back in on the discovery every now and then.

But for now something you all be waiting for...the harem.

Okay for here we still have another two chapters for the final list. What I am going to list are definite and considerations. Members who I am adding in into the harem and those on the fence. Have a few of the former I'm keeping quite for now and save for the final list unless someone guesses correctly.

One obvious and multiple people have guessed already while the other is one no one has.

Anyway for the definites are:

Kinoko Komodo/Shemage

Pony Tsunotori/ Rocketti

Fuyumi Todoroki

Kaoruko Awata/ Bubble Girl

Rumi Usagiyama/ Miroku

Shino Sosaki/ Mandalay

Ippan Josei

Kaina Tsutsumi/ Lady Nagant

And finally two for one.

Monique Dupre

Alexia Ashford

...that boy is going to die.

Okay and now up onto the considerations so far. They are:

Anan Kurose/ Thirteen

Yu Takeyama/ Mt. Lady

Tomoko Shiretoko/Ragdoll

Ryuko Tsushikawa/ Pixie-Bob

Moe Kamiji/ Burnin

Mitsuki Bakugou

And finally

Vivienne Graham

The up above are ones I'm still on the fence about, so any feedback or suggestions are welcome. Two chapters remain until everything is finalized.

Anyway one more thing, suggestions for what Izuku should use as his Quirk name. Settled on Erika using Snapdragon for her condition as a Quirk. Any are welcome.

That is everything for now.

Next chapter is a week later where Erika and Izuku gets their results, Aldera gets what is coming for it, Izuku having another encounter, and All Might and Aizawa's idea is revealed to the Midoriya household. Hope you all enjoy it when it comes out.

So until next time, ciao!
