Ch15: A Fresh Slate
(Izuku POV)
"Quirk or Quirkless it doesn't matter what. Either way he will fail." Kokuyōsenki said as she rushed forward swiping at me with her revving blades. Swiping at me while I barely ducked under her blade.
Jumping back as I heard a click and barely dodged as the blade cut a few chips into the pavement!
T-That was too close!
"You know what you're right, and I could care less. All I care about is seeing your body bloody and broken on the ground Deku!" Shiten shouted out as he gathered his Quirk into his hands before releasing several blobs of Mercury towards my legs.
I crouched down and broke into a sprint towards him and making sure to stay clear of Kokuyōsenki as the now spikes clattered into were I had just been.
Need to stay away from her as much as I can, but I need to focus on Shiten. She seemed to be specialized in close range and her Quirk added to that range. That and judging by her rushing towards me seemed focused on me!
Kokuyōsenki rushed forward and I barely had time to raise my arms to catch her before she could slash at me. I tried to pull back, only to hear a click as one of her blades scratched my cheek!
I tried to hold back from yelling in pain as green sparks filled my vision for a second before seeing Kokuyōsenki pulling back and clutching her right arm. Not hesitating for a second as I ran away from her and towards Shiten, trying my best to ignore my bleeding cheek.
I-It really stung, but I need to focus on buying time and making sure no one else getting hurt as I barely managed to catch another one of Shiten's spikes by diving into 2% briefly before turning One for All back down.
Kokuyōsenki was the more dangerous one of the two, but with the range and power he gained from Trigger made him the more dangerous to everyone else around him. Need to focus on him so he would less likely go for for anyone else.
And it seem even with Trigger his breathing hadn't improved, and the claw around his right hand seemed to melt and bubble, which caused Shiten to grasp his wrist.
The claw wasn't just that, it was also a brace for his hand. Probably to help with his hand, but it seems he probably didn't take into account how bad it really was. With the claw starting to reform this could be an opportunity.
As I rushed towards him, Shiten growled as a large amount of his Quirk was forming in his good hand.
He swung it, creating a metallic whip that I barely ducked under. Shiten grinned as he pulled back and the whip broke apart, forming into metallic spikes!
I speed up as the clattered onto the ground and quickly closed in on him, Shiten's claw reformed and he tried to swipe at me. Barley managing to duck under I through a cross towards his ribs.
O-Only to pull back and wince in pain as I felt like my hand had hit something metallic as Shiten double over coughing.
"I'm not letting you strike me their again! " Shiten coughed out as he got back up and tried to swing at me.
"I-I figured and I'm sorry." I said, ducking under his claw and delivering an uppercut to his jaw. Getting him to groan out in pain before punching him in the face, hard.
Still needed to work on holding back while using Full Cowling, cause I am pretty sure I might have broken his nose a second time
Looking at it and the amount of blood coming from his nose I probably did...
I heard an audible click from behind me and barely managing to dodge Kokuyōsenki as she tried to punch me. Her blade was backwards and pulled to the back with her arm. But with an audiable click the pivot shot forward and as the reving blade straightened itself, nicking my side.
Causing me to yell in pain as I put more distance between her and Shiten, clutching my side as she grabbed her arm again.
T-Thankfully it only felt like a small cut, but I believe that things could only get worse from here...
"Keep your distance from him, I'll handle him unless you can come up with a way to actually hit him." Kokuyōsenki said, getting Shiten to growl at her as he clutched his nose. Only to grin as he reached behind to the small of his back and began to pull from the blob that had formed there.
"I do, it will take a bit though." Shiten said, pulling a bit more before forming a large metallic blob in his claw and threw it towards my feet.
I jumped back as the blob hardened on the ground, only to nearly double over as Kokuyōsenki struck me in the gut, her blades pulled back and blocking the back of her forearms. Pretty sure she figured out out my shield could do.
But it didn't deter me as I pulled back, and groaned as she kicked my side were she and nicked me.
It appeared that her boots weren't insulated as she quickly pulled back and tried to strike me.
I dodged and tried to strike her, but Kokuyōsenki turned away from my fist. I did manage to strike her side, but jumped back as her blade flipped up in a 90 degree angle with a click.
Putting it back she quickly closed the distance and punched my side once again. Bitting back a groan as she tried to strike me again, this time I raised my arms to block it. I tried to aim a kick at her, but Kokuyōsenki stepped back.
She lunged at me, her blade flipping forwards as I barely managed to avoid getting my side cut again!
Seeing an opening I brought down my elbow onto the back of her forearm, getting her to groan out in pain as we both pulled back from each other.
Given they housed her Quirk the skin outside and the muscle structure inside her forearms was thicker then it would normally be to avoid being cut. But it also more sensitive if her blades and pivots were pulled out, making an ideal target.
However it was easier said than done...
She closed the distance to try and strike my once again, barely dodging out of the way. Yet I managed to slug her in the gut.
Kokuyōsenki doubled over and I tried to strike again, but stoped as she raised her arms to block.
I heard a soft click and quickly my hand back as her blades bent forwards into three sections!
If I had been a monument slower that probably would have been quite the nasty gash. So her Quirk's blades were segmented, it would make hide them in her body easier. They didn't seem to be able to bend that much, but her blades's length and pivot just made it even more dangerous and give her more range.
"Impressive, your the first in a while to figure that out without being gutted." Kokuyōsenki said with a small smirk, breaking me out of my muttering before rushing forwards to strike me.
I really need to get a hold of my muttering...
"And what is taking you so long?" She question as she tried to strike my side, forcing me to dodge and Shiten struggling to pull something out of the small of his back.
"This is way harder than it looks!" Shiten growled out, only to grin as he look a number of civilians watching everything. A metallic blob bathing in his hands.
No!
Kokuyōsenki tried to strike me again, but I ducked under her arm and delivered a cross to her gut, getting her to double over as a quickly ran over to the crowd.
"Catch Deku!" Shiten yelled as he lobbed a large metallic spike at them.
The crowd started to panic as I ran ahead, turning and barely managing to catch the spike. Letting out a sigh of relief as I dropped the spike.
"P-Please get out of here." I said, the group already dispersing.
The last onlooker fled to safety before a metallic blob landed at my feet and struck my chest. Binding my feet and arms to my side!
"End of the line Deku!" Shiten shouted as he charged at me. In his hands a misshapen metallic club that was about half a meter long!
I tried to bend to my pocket and reach for one of the lighters in my pocket, but yelled in pain as Shiten struck my back with the club!
I yelled out in pain and I could hear him yelling in pain as green sparks filled my vision. W-When it cleared up I saw that Shiten had fallen to the ground a little bit away from me. Dropping his club and groaning as green sparks danced around his body.
C-Considering the nature of his Quirk and it was basically covering his whole body...I couldn't imagine how bad of a shock he got. Yet considering how drained I feel he sorted out the shield. I don't know how long it will be like this, but I needed to get the lighter quickly.
"You could have warned me that the Deku had some kind of electrical field!" Shiten yelled at Kokuyōsenki as he got up, only to flinch at the glare she sent him.
"As if the green electricity wasn't enough of an answer, or seeing it affect my blades. Besides it seems that what you did might have weakened itit." She said, closing in as I finally managed to grab the lighter with my fingers.
I hurriedly started to flicker with the lighter as Shiten got up with a grin, grabbing his club and generating a metallic blob in his claw.
C-Come on, come on, come on.
"Might be right, but how about a little test first!" Shiten said throwing the blob up into the air and above me.
I finally managed to flicker it on and apply the lighter to Mercury binding my arms, with it quickly burning away just as the metallic blob split up above me. Raising my arms to block my head as the hardened pieces rained down.
Grunting a little as the pieces some of struck me while I turned off the lighter. While most of the pieces just bounded off of my body, the hardness was still comparable to iron. I was just thankful that only I was targeted by this. Along with most of the larger pieces falling around me.
And managing to catch a few small pieces in my free hand.
I uncovered my arms to see Kokuyōsenki charging towards me!
H-Hopefully this works.
Using one of the metallic pieces I placed between middle finger and thumb, before flicking it towards her while bending down and trying to reignite the lighter.
I was not expecting anything from it, but the metallic piece collided and bounced off her forehead. She stopped in her tracks for a second as a small cut appeared where it struck before she resumed charging at me.
T-That actually worked, and it bought me enough time to set Shiten's Mercury aflame. Quickly stepping back from her to put some distance between us. Only to jump back as a large metal spike crashed into where I just was!
And for Kokuyōsenki to kick my legs out from under me, causing me to land on the ground with a groan.
It took me a few moments to get used to the pain before hearing a loud click and reving sound, quickly rolling away from Kokuyōsenki as she brought her blades down on where my legs had been! Cutting into the pavement!
T-That was too close!
Hurriedly picking myself up off the ground, she drew back her blades and charged at me. I reached or another of the metal pieces again and flicked it towards her.
Kokuyōsenki tried to dodged it, but the metal piece struck her dead center in the stomach. She grunted as I tried to put more distance between us.
Only had two more of those pieces left and I doubt either she or Shiten would allow me to make another break for any more of them. Hopefully I will not have to use them.
I just needed to hold them off for a bit longer..
"Why won't you just let us brake you Deku, it will only make so much easier for everyone here if you do so!" Shiten yelled out as he charged at me, throwing a metal spike at me. I dodged it, before ducking under Shiten's club as he swung it at my head, before creating another spike to throw at me.
For the next few moments Shiten kept repeating the same motions, moving between swinging his club or releasing a metal spike rapidly to force me back. Trying his best to dodge any attempts I could counter his attacks while I did the same thing.
Seems like he was keeping his distance from me, always throwing a spike after swinging his club. Looks like he trying to avoid getting shocked again. I felt my spine twitch and smiled a little, coming up with an idea.
Ducking under his next spike Shiten swung his club, and this time I did not dodged out of the way as it struck my arm. A green sparks produced as Shiten yelled, letting go of his club as his claw was destabilized once again.
"Damn it not-" Shiten yelled out again, before being cut off as I uppercutted him.
Before I had to dodge out of the way of one of Kokuyōsenki's blades just centimeters from my face. Putting distance between the two of us as Shiten tried to compose himself as the fingers on his bad hand twitched violently.
While myself started to pant a little, waiting to see what they would do next. My body was sore in several places and where Kokuyōsenki had cut into were still bleeding. Although I can barely feel the one on my cheek anymore.
Just a little bit more.
Shiten grabbed the club with his good hand while spikes started to form out of the small of his back. Both he and Kokuyōsenki began to stalk towards me.
"Just give up Deku, I am not sure how much longer you can keep this up. It will make it even easier for everyone including yourself! There is no possible way you can beat us Deku!" Shiten growled out.
"P-Perhaps that you are right, but I am not backing down at all. I-I said that I will make sure that you wouldn't harm anyone else, that is what I can do." I said with a grin, before noticing something in the air. "No matter how long it takes."
This only irritated Shiten even further as he charged forward, with Kokuyōsenki straying behind him.
Looking up in the air I saw something familiar rapidly falling towards us...wait wasn't that-
"Heads up!" Agent Aoki shouted as he flew downwards, getting Shiten's attention before accidentally kicking him in the face with what looked to be a metallic talon. Quickly turning and landing next to me, the machinery on his back smoking. "Okay I really need to fine tune this thing when this is over."
"A-Aoki I am glad that you are here, but why exactly are you here." I said while letting out a sigh of relief. "Also isn't that the armor you were working on."
It still looked like what he had had when the Kaiju last attack, except a lot more armor plating on his body and wings, the smoking machinery on his back, and what appeared to be metallic talons on his feet.
"It is, still far from finished. But I am here because Erika overheard what happened." Aoki said, getting me to pale.
So she broke out of the base, that was the only reason Aoki was here.
"S-So you hadn't found her yet." I said, figuring that was true.
"No sign so far, Dr. Tōga drove me to the city. I just overtaxed the thruster to reach your location, no sign of her spores, but I think I spotted a hero on the way here." Aoki said getting me to let out a sigh of relief. "Not sure if I can be of much help, but it is preferred not to make sure what happened the last time she broke out doesn't happen again."
"It won't." I said determinedly.
If what Aoki said was true than a hero were close by and could finish this off shortly. And considering what happened last time it will only be a matter of time until Erika found me. This wasn't how I pictured seeing her again or in human form...
"Midoriya get down!" Aoki called out breaking me from my thoughts as he grabbed my and pulled me down as his wings covered us.
Only to hear the sounds of punks and a clang against his armored wings, the last on drawing a wince from Aoki. Looking from beneath his wings were spikes created from Shiten's Quirk. A-Along with what looked like a crudely made knife.
"Aoki-""I'm fine, just glad that the plating held up." I tried to say before Aoki cut me off, unfurling his wings to see Shiten and Kokuyōsenki approaching us.
The former grabbing one of the spikes from the small of his back, pulling it off to reveal a knife. While the former's blades were revving faster than what I had seen so far.
"So a hero has finally shown himself, but judging from the failing equipment he probably a rookie." Shiten said, covering his hand and knife with his Quirk. "I'll deal with him, shouldn't take too long. Just leave enough of Deku that I can still break."
"I make no promises." Kokuyōsenki said, before I heard the sound of something whirling.
"Midoriya I got one shot of this, we need to split up." Aoki said, getting me to look confused for a moment before nodding.
"Alright." I said, figuring that what ever Aoki was planning was going to buy us some more time.
Shiten created a metallic whip with his Quirk with the knife at the end, but unlike last time he pulled back to form it. Before flinging it forward towards me, the whip breaking into metallic spikes and the knife!
I hurried back, trying to dodge the barrage. Thankfully the knife clattered to the ground at my feet, but grunted as spike impacted my shoulder.
Thankfully it didn't break the skin, but it still hurt quite a bit. Kokuyōsenki charged at me, but both her and Shiten dove for cover as something launched from Aoki's back. I nearly did the same before a smoke cloud erupted between them.
So it was a smoke grenade, that should buy us sometime. Aoki flew up above the ground, circling above the smoke cloud while I pulled out a metallic piece from my pocket, training it between my fingers. Making sure to hang back away from the smoke cloud incase either one of them came after me.
It didn't take long before I saw the smoke starting to dissipate and saw a knife flying towards me!
I shot off the metal piece into smoke cloud as I ducked out of the wave of the knife, the blade breaking in half as it clattered against the pavement.
T-That was too close!
"There you are Deku!" Shiten growled out he charged out of the smoke cloud, a metallic whip pulled back.
Only for him to stop and the whip to fall apart as Aoki dived towards his back, he metallic talons grabbing ahold of his arms and pulled Shiten back into the smoke cloud.
"I got him, this will take a minute." Aoki said as he dragged Shiten back into the smoke cloud. Which was soon followed by the clanging of metal against metal erupting from there.
Alright with Shiten being distracted by Agent Aoki that just left Kokuyōsenki. I looked around for her from the smoke cloud as it was starting to clear up. Keeping my guard up before seeing that she was rushing towards me.
I raised my hands to block her strike, only to yelling in pain as one of her blades shot forward with a click and cut into my right hand! I tried to pull back, but Kokuyōsenki grabbed my arm and started to press deeper!
I yelled out in pain before striking the back of her forearm, surprising her long enough to free my hand and pulled back making sure to put enough distance.
T-The gash was pretty bad, going from the back of my hand and a little past my wrist. It was bleeding pretty badly and my right hand was starting to feel numb. I grabbed my hand to apply pressure to hopefully slowdown the bleeding while hurriedly backing up.
Kokuyōsenki drew her other blade forward and charged at me, quickly closing the distance.
For what felt like a minute I tried my best to dodge her trying to cut me up or tripping me. She seemed to now ignore the shield and was more focused on cutting me up. Managing to land a few nicks on my arms with her blades before she stumbled as several metallic pieces clattered into her back.
Looking past her I saw that the smoke cloud had dissipated to see Aoki still fighting against Shiten. The metal plating on his wings heavily dented in places along with some blobs of Mercury attached, with Shiten looking heavily bruised. There was a ton of metallic debris and a few knives littering the ground around them.
Shiten growled out as created a metallic whip to pull the Monarch Agent down, only for him fly past him. The whip crashed again this winds before Aoki grabbed his arm and pulled him up into the air.
Once again Shiten tried to retaliate by swinging his club, only for Aoki to grab it in his talons and dropping Shiten onto the ground from about a meter in the air.
I winced at the sight before moving back as Kokuyōsenki lunged forward, trying to slash at me. I barely managed to dodge one of her blades before she tripped me up.
Falling to the ground with a groan I saw her smirk before raising both of her blades up! I-I made to roll away, but yelled in pain as she stomped on my right hand!
"Get away from him!" Aoki said as dove towards her, smack Kokuyōsenki with his wing before hurriedly raising his wing to block her hacking away at him. Pushing something against my left hand.
Wait isn't that...
I quickly banished those thoughts as I began to pick myself up as Aoki flew back. I was on my knees before Kokuyōsenki made as attempt to hack away at me.
To which I raised Shiten's club to block her blade, grunting as I held it up. I began to stand back up as she brought her other blade, the both of them revving even faster now. Struggling to hold her back as she tried to adjust her blades to better cut through the club, with me moving it to defend myself.
Just need a little longer.
When she had cut about half of the way through the club I saw my chance and shot my leg forward, tripping Kokuyōsenki up a little. Enough time to pull the club away from her and shoved it into her gut. Getting her to double over before I threw a hook with my left hand to her face.
She was stunned for a moment before I grabbed my right wrist again, dropping the club. Before she could strike at me Aoki smacked her to the ground with his wing.
Before he can fly away however a metallic blob connected one of his talons to the ground.
"You have got to be kidding me." Aoki said before his eyes went wide. "Midoriya behind you!"
I heard his warning and barely had enough time to back away from Shiten trying to stab me with a makeshift knife!
"You're next hero after I deal with the Deku!" He growled out, creating some and throwing some metallic spikes that I barely dodged.
"S-Shiten please stop it's over." I said look over to see Kokuyōsenki slowly picking herself back up from the ground. And noticing that the heros Aoki had mentioned earlier had arrived.
"It isn't over until I make a spectacle of breaking your body in front of everyone here!" Shiten declared, before a shadow loomed over us.
"Well that is enough of that!" A voiced yelled out from atop of a building as Shiten took a few steps back while I ran towards Aoki.
Smiling to see that Kamui Woods had arrived as he used he stretched his arm from a street lamp and landed in front of Shiten.
"Using illegal Trigger and all to assault a student. I can only suppose you gave it to him Kokuyōsenki." He said, getting her to back up a few steps. And judging by his tone and the way he narrowed his eyes at her I take that he knew her.
"Just doing business with him." She said evenly, eyes darting around as one of his hands started to become branch like.
"Than you know there is no excuse for what you have done! Preemptive Binding: Lacquered Chain Prison!" Kamui Woods said, launching tendrils of wood towards Shiten and Kokuyōsenki! The former found his body heavily bond in branches, so much so he could barely move and his mouth was covered. Kokuyōsenki arms and blades were heavily covered in branches.
H-Hopefully that will hold them.
"H-Here you go." I said to Aoki, flickering the lighter and burning up the Mercury amongst his leg.
"Thanks Midoriya." Aoki said, flapping his wings briefly before furling them. "Make sure to stick behind me for now." He said, to which I just nodded as the two of us approached the heros.
It would be a bad idea to run from them at this point, especially if Erika was on the lose and knew I was somewhere on this street.
"Do you really think that this will hold me like last time." Kokuyōsenki said, leveling a glare at Kamui Woods.
"No it should you until the police arrive. For both you and the other villain that hired you." Kamui Woods said.
"That would be Shiten, one of the escapees from Berusabisu Detention Center." Aoki said, getting the hero to nod.
"I remember hearing about him last month. With him going after one of his fellow students twice and now a third time while on Trigger and likely having help in hiring Kokuyōsenki. Truly on his way to becoming a relentless villain if this continues." Kamui Woods said before turning to Aoki. "I thank you for your assistance but do you have permits for your Quirk and support equipment."
"I do, international permits under Aoki Masahiro. But anyway we should probably get the kid medical treatment immediately." Aoki said, stepping aside to reveal me still holding my wrist.
I tried to avoid his gaze on me, the last time I had met him still fresh on their mind.
H-Hopefully it was not the same case with-
"Wait you're the kid from the Sludge villain." He said, widening his eyes.
S-So he did remember me.
Kamui Woods starred at me for a second before sighing and shaking his head.
"Let's get you treated first kid, than we are going to have some words." Kamui Woods said, getting me to wince. "Nothing like last time I assure you."
To that I just nodded before noticing something warm against my cheek, the one that wasn't cut. I was curious to what it was before feeling more such warm spots appearing on my body. It didn't take me a moment longer to figure out what was happening, especially the way Aoki sighed as I smiled.
Seems like Erika had finally found me.
"Okay what is going on here?" Kamui Woods said as he wearily eyed the number of spores beginning to increase around me.
"W-Well you see-" I said before my eyes went wide. "Everyone get back!"
My warning came through as the heros jumped into action as a large amount of liquid metal was launched into the air, hardening mid air and beginning to rain down in metallic fragments. Kamui Woods and Agent Aoki went to immediately help any nearby citizens while I turned to see the source.
Shiten had managed to slip through the branches, his body completely covered in his Quirk and it bleed through his clothes. And his whole body now seemed scrawnier and I could actually see bits of his skeleton through his skin.
He used his body to essentially both escape and cause panic, possible worsening any damage or detrimental effects he was previous experiencing.
Kamui Woods and Aoki were pulling or shielding any onlookers from the larger of the metallic shards.
H-Honestly I should have expected this given how determined Shiten was to harm me and permanently damaged his right hand. I started to dodge the falling metal fragments as the spores began to converge between the two of us, reaching into my pocket.
"This isn't over until I br-" Shiten tried to say, but never finished as a vine wrapped around his face. Muffled screaming emerged as the end of the vine pulled him towards Erika as she began to reform in front of me.
Growing as she slammed a fist into his face before tossing him into the ground, her vine retracting into her back.
S-She was, s-she was-
N-Not the time for-
"Izuku..." Erika said, snapping me out of my thoughts as the shards stopped falling. Gesturing towards Shiten as he struggled to get back up.
"Of course." I said determinedly, trying my best not to freak out. That could wait until after dealing with him.
"No." Shiten growled out, channeling his Quirk into his arms as he charged at myself and Erika. "This isn't over yet Deku!"
A large jagged emerged from his arm as tried to rush to stab me. Only for one of Erika's vines to pierce through it and break it in two for his shock.
"It is Shiten." I said as Erika reeled him in with another of her vines while I channeled some more of One for All throughout my body, pushing it to 2%.
I have tried reasoning with him and no matter what other attempts anyone has made to stop him have fallen on deaf ears. Not even himself damaging his own body has gotten through to him to stop this.
There only seems one way to get it through to him to stop this for once and for all.
Erika brought him in before delivering a devastating strike to his gut, Shiten yelling in pain as she slammed him into the ground. Before I began to rush towards him.
He quickly got up, only to stumble back towards Erika as I flicked the last metal piece directly towards his chest. Drawing back a fist.
"I wish that it didn't come to this Shiten, but enough is enough." I said to him.
Shiten tried to form a shield with his Quirk to block me, but he was too late.
"Smash!" I yelled, throwing a punch and connecting it into Shiten's gut. He flew back with a small gust of wind before being caught in branches created by Kamui Woods. Struggling a little before finally slumping unconscious.
I painted as I canceled the flow of One for All through my body and Erika spat several wads of sap at him and Kokuyōsenki. With it quickly hardening where it hit, and the later sighing as we could hear the sounds of sirens sounding off in the distance.
It was over, it was finally over.
I was still bleeding a little, exhausted, both my hands were feeling numb, and my bones felt like they were aching. But looking around it seemed like no one was hurt or at least if they were hopefully not to badly....
"Izuku..." Erika said, breaking me out of my thoughts...and I wish she hadn't.
N-Not that there was anything wrong with her or anything! Okay just breath Izuku, just breath!
I-I just needed a few moments to compose myself...okay I am good.
I-I think.
P-Probably going to take a bit to get used to Erika's new form cause she was perhaps the most beautiful person I have ever met!
She was tall, which I kind of expected but stood a good head taller than I was and her shoulders seemed a little broad. Her skin coloration was a very pale greenish white. She had short, wavy hair that reached to the back of her neck, dark green with the ends and a few streaks of red mixed in. Her eyes were still amber, but her pupils were no longer slitted.
T-The hospital gown she was wearing seemed a little small in places...don't think about that Izuku...
Shaking my head from those thought, I smiled and began to approach her.
Only for Erika to wrap me in a vine and pull me into a bone crushing embrace. Literally as I felt my bones starting to creak as as rested my head on her shoulder.
"E-Erika!" I said, trying to ignore the pain...a-and that she was pressing herself against me.
"It's been too long since I did this Izuku...don't tell me that you didn't miss this?" Erika said, her vine pulling my head back a little. Her eyes seemed to be peering into to me as she gave me a small smile.
"M-Maybe a little." I muttered out, before smiling a little. "I have been waiting for weeks to see you again Erika. I'm just sorry it wasn't under better conditions. Last time I talked to you I said the next time you saw me I will be alright...not so much right now."
"Like I could care about that Izuku." Erika said as her grip on me loosened quiet a bit, tears welling up in her eyes. "I would have broken out...just to see you again. Just to be able to actually talk to you finally."
"So have I Erika." I said, taking a breath to do steel my nerves.
Before hugging her with my left arm, trying to no get any more blood on the hospital gown. Surprising her a little.
"I guess the both of us have been waiting for this day for quite a long while Erika." I said, getting her to smile as another vine emerged from her back and began to nuzzle against me.
"That we have Izuku." Erika said, hugging me again while I silently winced from the pain.
Despite the pain I smiled, nor didn't struggle out of her grasp. Just letting Erika enjoy this moment for as long as she can.
It only lasted a few moments before the both of us heard somebody coughing. Turning towards the source we found that it was Kamui Woods coughing to get our attention. Agent Aoki stood by the side with his phone out as the police and an ambulance had arrived.
W-Was he recording is?
Erika growled at Kamui Woods and her vines unfurled from around me to do so as well.
"As much as I hate to ruin this moment, the kid needs medical treatment. Along with some questions that need answered too." He said, seemingly uncaring at the vines looking to snap at him.
Kamui Woods does have a point...that and my hand was really starting to go numb.
"E-Erika please he does have a point." I said, getting her attention. "The sooner we can get everything sorted out the better."
She looked between me and Kamui Woods, retracting her vines with a sigh and loosening her grip on me.
"I've waited long enough for this moment...what is a few minutes more." Erika said, getting me to nod as I let out a sigh of relief as I saw Detective Tsukauchi emerge from one of the police cars. "But we are continuing this after we are done."
"A-And I wouldn't have it any other way." I said with a smile, meaning every word of it.
After so long Erika has finally regained a human form, I just wished that the circumstances of meeting her like again was under better circumstances. But with just happened and Shiten use of Trigger, hopefully he will never be able to come after me again.
But I could careless about that at the moment.
Admittedly like I had admitted to Erika that I had missed being around her like this...m-might take a while before I can get used to being embraced by her new form. And that after so long and everything that has happened since I had met here Erika finally got her wish. That she was finally had a human form again and that everything was alright.
(3rd POV - Same Time - In the crowd)
In the surrounding crowd that had witnessed what had happened in front of them, the police began to get them to back up and inquire about what had happen.
A small, elderly lady with her phone managed to slip out of the back of the crowd and began to walk down one of the surrounding streets. No one had really paid any attention to her at all during the event, after all she was just one of the spectators who had recorded the event on their phone.
As she walked down the street looking through the recording she took, the woman smiled at the quality of her video. It was not bad at all.
She could clearly hear and see what Izuku had been doing the entire fight. Fast forwarding through the recording until she paused at when Izuku had thrown a hook at Kokuyōsenki after blocking her with a metallic club.
Grinning at seeing him cut and bleeding, but still putting up a fight.
"So cool, Izuku." The woman said with a fanged grin, her cheeks aflame as she took a screen shot of that moment.
"There you are Himi." A voice said behind the woman, getting her to turn and see her Yujiro had parked his car behind her. "I have been looking for you all over the place. What have I told you about sneaking out."
"To not too, but I haven't been out in a long time! And it's been so boring with just me and Baba most of the time! Besides I didn't get a chance cut anyone today." Himiko whined, getting Yujiro to sigh while shaking his head.
"I think I can see that, but please just get in the back. I got some spare clothes and lab coat back there, so can you please change out of my mother's form than we can get you something to eat before heading home." Yujiro said, getting Himiko's eyes to light up as she entered the car.
"Of course uncle." Himiko said happily, getting in the back with grey slime starting to cover her body.
Only to pause as she saw Yujiro's outstretched hand.
"Let me see your knife Himi, I'll give it back to you after you change." Yujiro said, getting Himiko to grumble and comply as she handed it to him. "And mother's box cutter, she said that it went missing after you left. I am not giving it back to you."
"Please tell Baba won't use her cane?" Himiko asked fearfully as she changed back to her true appearance as Yujiro inspected her blades.
Her grandmother's cane was what she feared the most, just behind dying and getting caught!
"Not so sure, but I doubt it Himi. Probably expect quite a tongue lashing from her." Yujiro said while inspecting the blades, getting Himiko to shudder as she changed clothes. "Not a spec of blood on them, nor do they look like they had been cleaned at all since I last saw them."
"How can you tell uncle." Himi asked as she put on the lab coat.
"I've been checking them daily since I arrived back in Japan Himi." Yujiro said as he handed Himiko her knife back. "So did you see anything interesting on your little trip today?"
"I saw Izuku tattered and reeking of blood! I saw him jogging and followed him before seeing him being attacked. Saw and recorded the entire fight, left when I the police arrived after seeing Dr. Shiragami." Himiko said, getting Yujiro's eyes to widen.
"She did escape, but how did you know that?" He asked, thinking of multiple possibilities.
"Cause of her scent, you showed me plenty of her blood uncle, that and I could smell plenty of Izuku's blood in her." Himiko said with a smile.
"Himi since when could you smell blood like that?" Yujiro asked with dread.
"About a day or two ago, but only those I'm familiar with like Baba's, Izuku's, and your's uncle Yuji. Just not very far away." Himiko said excitedly, thinking that maybe it was a sign that her Quirk had changed a bit to better identify the ones she loved.
Yujiro inwardly groaned and reminded himself to run tests later, and praying that Himiko had only awakened another factor of her Quirk.
Such a thing wasn't that uncommon but it was better than the alternative. Either way it probably wasn't a good idea to have over indulged his niece with giving her Izuku's blood these past few weeks.
"We'll work on that theory later Himi, but first I am going to need to see some of your blood to check a few things on before I head back to work. Understood?" Yujiro asked as he started the car, getting Himiko to smile.
"Okay uncle." Himiko said as she looked out the window. "Hey uncle Yuji you told me Izuku wanted to be a hero. Do you know why?"
"I do and-""Please don't tell me." Yujiro tried to tell her, but to his surprise Himiko cut him off.
Well he certainly didn't expect that .
"Any reason in particular Himi?" Yujiro inquired.
"He tried to get them to stop a few times through reason and allowed himself to get hurt to prevent others from doing so. I'm curious uncle." Himiko admitted with a flushed face. "Do you think I can ask him?"
"I see, do you think you can do so without cutting him open drinking his blood?" Yujiro asked, getting his niece to shrug and smile.
"Probably I wish I could have done so earlier, but there was too many people. That and I still have plenty of his blood." Himiko said excitedly. "Do you think it might be possible?"
Yujiro looked at her through the mirror for a few moments before sighing and giving her a fanged smile.
"I can make no promises Himi and under my supervision, but I can see what I can do. Might be a while, so please have some patience Himi." Yujiro said, and the hematologist meant it.
The fact that she was considering this and admitting to holding back on her desire to cut and suck someones blood was quite a bit of progress compared to when he first gave her shelter over a month and a half ago.
It was probably a good sign and might get him one step closer from the mindset of stabbing and killing random people in alleyways for her ideals of love. Yujiro doubted that she could ever fully snap out of her ideals, but perhaps redirect and channel them.
Probably going to need a disguise for Himiko as Izuku was practically a walking reference book Japanese heros and possibly a good grasp of it's more well known villains. And his niece did have quite the body count...yeah definitely a good idea.
"Thank you uncle Yuji!" Himiko said excitedly as she hugged him from behind. "I'll try to be patient, but I make no promises~"
"That is all that I ask Himi." Yujiro said with a smile. "Now put your seat belt on and get you some thing to eat."
"Okay and uncle can I keep this lab coat?" Himiko asked with a smile.
Yujiro thought about it for a while, before shrugging.
"Sure, it is just a spare one anyway. Just please try not to get any blood on it, believe me a blood splattered lab coat is the worst first impression you can give someone and takes forever to get out." He said, smiling as he saw Himiko nod happily.
Hopefully the idea he was forming would work, and his worries about Izuku's blood was unfounded.
(3rd POV - 12 minutes later)
Officer Yamazaki watched as Shiten was loaded into the back of an ambulance, glaring at his assault victim being treated while being interviewed by Detective Tsukauchi. The effects of Trigger having been worn off.
He was going to be placed in medical custody and going to hooked up with IV fluid for a while from what he heard. Along with getting treatment for multiple broken ribs.
Probably not a good idea to have repeatedly picked on someone with a strength enhancer Quirk.
Still even with Shiten on Trigger the boy managed to hold himself up for quite a while before help arrived. It was quite impressive, but there was too much attention on him at the moment.
But as for his main target, Kokuyōsenki was being escorted into the back of a police cruiser with the heavy duty handcuffs covering her forearms. He doubted she could be able to cut through them in enough time to escape the cruiser and the escort that she would be given. They were going to make certain that she wouldn't escape this time.
From what he heard the boy's mother would be coming to finish all the necessary procedures and take the boy to a local medical professional. He was very lucky that Kokuyōsenki didn't cut into him too deeply except for his hand. Even than he was lucky it didn't need surgery and probably won't scar.
Still from the look of things even if the boy's mother didn't press charges which he doubted, Shiten and Kokuyōsenki were facing some pretty heavy charges.
For Shiten it was extra charges of assault, evasion, Quirk abuse, a charge for use of Ideo Trigger, a charge for escaping a juvenile detention center, and a charge for organizing the Berusabisu Juvenile Detention Center on the prisoner side of things.
As for Kokuyōsenki more charges of evasion, assault on a minor, distribution of illegal Trigger to a minor, theft for taking the boy's phone, and multiple cases of aiding in the escape of multiple inmates from the Berusabisu Juvenile Detention Center.
With the the events of the Berusabisu Juvenile Detention Center should be wrapped up with the mastermind moved to max security, Kokuyōsenki joining her soon, 12 of the escapees captured with Shiten being planned to move to the most secure juvenile detention center in Japan, and one of them actually found to be innocent of all charges and will be eligible to enroll into a high school rehabilitation program.
Yamazaki knew that the police and Hero Public Safety Commission were more than satisfied this case would be closed. Especially the later, with him hearing hearing the youngest son of an official was partly responsible by falling asleep in the security room and promptly fired.
But he wasn't going to grant them any of that at all.
Yamazaki entered his cruiser and made sure his trail and dash camera were turned off before he pulled out a burner phone and dialed a number.
"This is Charon's mobile service, I'm sorry to inform you that our delivery service is currently unavailable. Leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we are available." The voice on the other end of the phone said, but Yamazaki knew that wasn't an answering machine.
"This is officer Yamazaki, the boss told me and the others to contact Kurogiri using this number." Yamazaki said, hearing a brief humming at the end of the line.
"You have been speaking with him, I take it that you have completed the Master's wish officer?" Kurogiri inquired.
"Yes, Kokuyōsenki was arrested here in Musutafu just now. On her way to the station. She should be here until tomorrow were I hear they will transfer her to a more secure facility." Yamazaki said.
"I see you have preformed your task well and the Master's reward for her location will be transferred to your account post extraction." Kurogiri said, getting Yamazaki to grin.
"Excellent, and perhaps is there a little extra for giving the boss an extra subject for him." The officer said.
"And pray tell what is so special about this subject Yamazaki."
Yamazaki swallowed as he heard the bosse's voice before trying to regain his composure.
"There was someone else that was arrested with her, a junior high school student turned villain with quite the rap sheet and even escaping from a juvenile detention center recently. Great Quirk and a fierce determination to inflict pain on those who wronged him no matter how many times. I figured that you would be interested boss. I'll send the details on where he is once I get back to the station." He said, trying to keep his nervousness in check.
He was going to probably have to call all the favors that he owed in the department to get that information to the boss, but the temptation of a larger reward was worth it.
As long as he could deliver, his head and Quirk would not be on the chopping block.
"I see, well this will save us quite some resources from procuring a first test subject. Well done, Yamazaki. Kurogiri add an extra 15% onto his reward, but only if he provides the necessary information. You know what to do if he doesn't." The boss said, getting Yamazaki to gulp.
"Of course. Now officer if you do not have anything else to say that will be all for now." Kurogiri said.
"Actually do you mind throwing in a bottle of Bowmore whiskey if you have any please." Yamazaki asked.
"Of course, but the cost will be subtracted from your reward." Kurogiri said, to which the officer thought was fair. "Any preferences?"
"Do you have any White Bowmore?" Yamazaki asked.
"We do have two extra bottles aged for 43 years. That will bring down your extra reward to 14.3%." Kurogiri said.
"Fine by me." Yamazaki said.
"It will arrive to your apartment tomorrow as soon as the extraction is completed. Have a good evening officer." Kurogiri said before the line went day.
"I just hope it will be." Yamazaki said, turning on his cameras and starting his car. Joining in the escort of Kokuyōsenki back to the station.
(Izuku POV - Same Time)
"Thank you for answering all of the questions Midoriya, you mother should be here shortly and you should be able to leave." Detective Tsukauchi said, getting me to nod before turning to Erika. "And for you Miss Erika, you're being let off with a warning this time. According to Serizawa you were going to be discharged in three days. I am not sure if this will effect your discharge date as it will be up to him. But he advises that you do not break out again."
"I am not planning on it." Erika said, getting Tsukauchi to nod while I let out a sigh of relief.
At least everything seemed to be going all right and that Detective Tsukauchi was in on what Monarch knows. While Aoki was currently going over the features of his gear to a few curious officers.
The official story for Erika and Aoki was that Erika was an escaped patient from a hospital outside of Musutafu once she heard I was in trouble. A patient that I have been volunteering to help for the past month and a half and had given blood to. Which was technically true. Aoki was an associate of the hospital CEO with a currently pending Japanese Hero license that was staying nearby and heard what was happening to me.
With the hospital CEO being Director Serizawa his number being the last one I called on my phone after being returned, Aoki's phone having it, and recalling him in order to confirm the story. That and I think Aoki might have informed him earlier.
T-That is if he didn't record us earlier.
Though they also had records suggesting about Aoki's pending license and medical records about the transfusions. So Monarch was being thorough in covering everything so soon. Which given the nature of the organization I shouldn't be surprised.
At least it seemed that Kamui Woods had believed it. And my wounds had been treated. Besides the nasty gash on the right hand from Kokuyōsenki which has been heavily bandaged I was mainly covered in cuts and bruises. And part of my body, especially my left hand felt a little numb from going into 2% of One for All.
It felt much better than it did a while go and the numbness was fading away. Still going to need to see Recovery Girl about the gash on my hand.
Still it was a sign that I seriously need to improve on my control over my Quirk, I've only just got it and if tapping into 2% a few times in succession can put this much strain on my body. Something that I would have to rectify soon.
I was broken from my thoughts as I felt one of Erika's vines brushing against my face, getting me to sigh.
"I really need to get a handle on my muttering." I sighed out, with Erika just holding as she had to do the same thing twice in the past 10 minutes to break me out of my muttering spells.
"Perhaps, but I find it kind of endearing..." Erika said with a smile, getting my face to flush a little.
"Izuku where are you!" I heard my mom call out, looking past the detective I saw her and All Might quickly approaching us as the police who were cleaning up ass the metal shards everywhere.
"I-I'm right here!" I called out as Tsukauchi nodded.
"I have a few things that I need to discuss with her, but after that you and Miss Erika are free to go." Tsukauchi said, getting me to nod. "Kamui Woods I believe that you had a few words with them."
"It won't take long." Kamui Woods said, getting Tsukauchi to nod as he went towards my mom. And myself to gulp as he faced me and Erika.
P-Please don't end up like last time.
"I believe that the detective and this Serizawa have made the points about you breaking out of a hospital, but what you did was more reckless than what he did during the Slime villain incident." Kamui Woods said calmly, getting Erika to growl and myself to wince. "Breaking out to try and save him after waking up from an extensive operation, just what we're you thinking."
"That Izuku had better be okay.He had been dealing with being attacked constantly since I met him, especially from Shiten." Erika growled out before grabbing her arm with one of her vines. "Besides I could care less about what they could do to me..."
W-Wait was she really going to-
No wait of course she was, Erika had no problems literally ripping herself to pieces before so why now!
"E-Erika don't!" I protested.
"What is she-" Kamui Woods said, but cut himself off as a loud crack was heard.
Erika had used her vine to twist her arm in a complete unnatural angle, nearly tearing it off! There was even green blood dripping from the torn flesh.
She seemingly didn't care at all about that as Kamui Woods stared in horror as her arm promptly twisted back into place on it's own with a snap. No mark of anything ever happened to her at all.
N-Never going to get used to that.
Kamui Woods stared at her for a moment in shock before turning his gaze to me.
"H-Her Quirk also grants her an ungodly healing factor. And please don't compare her Quirk to Biollante, she hates that." I said while raising my hands. Erika just let out a soft growl at that while Kamui Woods nodded.
I think that was the answer he was looking for.
"Considering your regeneration and Quirk I can see why you would do so. I can agree with your sentiment to making sure he was alright, but disagree with how you went about it." Kamui Woods said, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.
He turned to face me and sighed.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you that day kid." Kamui Woods said, shocking me.
...W-What!
He was apologizing!
"I-It's al-" "It wasn't alright." I tried to say but Kamui Woods cut me off and sighed.
"Neither I or Death Arms should have yelled at you that day. Lectured you for doing something completely reckless yes. But not for airing out our grievances for the whole situation. A kid nearly died and there was nothing we could do about it. And you just rushed in to save friend, what were you even thinking?" Kamui Woods said, getting me to wince a little before regaining my composure.
"His eyes, they looked like he was asking for help and my body moved to help him without thinking. I just wanted to help Kaachan. I would have done so for anyone really." I said before looking down.
"And he was too prideful to admit ithank you, wasn't he?" Kamui Woods asked, shaking me for a moment before nodding. "I figured, Death Arms is kind of the same way. But he will admit when he is wrong or thanks in private."
"Honestly that is kind of how I met Izuku..." Erika said with a smile, before I found a vine draped against my shoulder. "I have been thankful ever since..."
"M-Me too." I said honestly as her vine nuzzled me for a moment before retracting.
Kamui Woods looked between us and chuckle a little.
Why do I believe that he was smiling under that mask?
"Glad to see that." He said before sighing, "We should have seen that the both of you were okay, instead me and Death Arms took our frustrations out on you for your stunt. Something we both regret as it was unbecoming of us as heros. At least unlike those other two who praised the boy for his Quirk instead of checking up on him."
"I-I agree, but what happened to them? Last I knew Slugger is still a hero and nothing about Harrier." I asked with a frown.
Instead of at least checking up on how Kaachan was doing considering they praised him for fighting back, his Quirk, and even trying to check to see if would join their agency's upon graduation.
"Slugger moved his agency to the Chiba prefecture, Harrier was demoted to a sidekick in another agency for pulling more stunts like that on victims of villain attacks and got to many complaints." Kamui Woods said, before blinking. "We're did you get that note book?"
"I've always had it on me." I said while updating the information.
"Can I see that?" Erika asked over my shoulder, getting me to jump a little as I closed it up.
"M-Maybe later." I said honestly, getting her to nod happily.
H-Honestly I wasn't all that comfortable with sharing my notes considering the last time that happened with Kaachan... the only exception was mom but that had only really been during this past month. Though I think that she might have been sneaking peaks at them for years now.
It might take a little time...but I think that I can extend that to Erika as well.
"Anyway once again I am sorry yelling at you that day. None of us heros were acting much like one that day except for All Might. Despite your actions that day you certainly showed the makings of one...and this incident really have solidified that idea." Kamui Woods said with a sigh. "While you talked with the detective I asked the crowd what had happened. You said to them that you would make sure no one else would get hurt and smiled like All Might to reassure them, making sure that no one was attacked by Shiten. You still have quite a bit learning to do, I can tell with enough time one day you can be a great hero."
...
He thought that I can become a great hero, Kamui Woods thought I could become a great hero. And it seemed like he meant it.
A-A lot of people seemed to believe that, especially this past month and a half. With all that and even with All Might telling me that all those months ago I still have some difficulty believing it.
S-Still that didn't mean that I didn't appreciate that he thought that of me...
"It doesn't matter to me, I already consider Izuku a hero." Erika said, breaking me out of my thoughts to see her smiling at me. To which I return.
Kamui Woods let out a dry chuckle and once again question why do I have the feeling that he was smiling under that mask.
"It is good to hear that you have someone who thinks that, especially someone like her. You better be sure to treasure that." Kamui Woods said.
"I already do and I have since I met her." I admitted honestly, my face flushing a little.
T-This is the first time I have admitted as such to someone outside of Monarch or U.A..
"Good to hear that. So how about a few words of advice from a professional hero to an aspiring one. Never underestimate the lengths a villain can go to win. And to learn from your mistakes as we all make them and can repeat them despite knowing what went wrong. You already have experience with the first of the lessons." He said, getting me to wince and Erika to growl.
"Yes, quiet a bit this month." I said, thinking of Shiten and the Kaiju.
"Perhaps more than you would know." Erika growled out, getting Kamui Woods to look between the two of us before shrugging.
"Than for the second you already had the unpleasantry of meeting an example of the both." He said while shaking his head.
"It was Kokuyōsenki, wasn't it. It sounded like you two encountered each other before." I said while pulling out my notebook, getting him to nod.
"I was part of the raid that resulted in her arrest and a few dozen other villains like her. I had managed to capture her and underestimated her with how many branches entangled her. Kokuyōsenki sawed through them and struck me from behind, cutting into my rib cage." Kamui Woods said, tracing alongside the left side of his ribs.
I wince at the thought of what happed and clutched my bandaged right hand. Compared to that and all the cuts I have gotten from her it sounds like I had gotten lucky.
"She cut all the way to the ribs before leaving me to book it as another hero arrived, managing to capture her by accidentally knocking her out of a second story window while I was taken to an ambulance. The surgeons said that I was lucky. Two more centimeters to the right and she would have cut into the entire side of my lung." Kamui Woods said.
Y-Yeah it definitely sounds like I got lucky.
"Wasn't the first time I made a mistake like that, and probably will not be the last. So while I can do what I can to learn from them to prevent it from happening again, but remember it is just a easy to slip up and repeat them. Believe me knowing this would have helped me out when I started, and I hope that you will remember that." Kamui Woods said, getting me to nod.
"I will." I said, getting Kamui Woods to nod before looking towards the side.
Following his gaze I saw what looked like mom and All Might was finishing up with Detective Tsukauchi.
"Seems like things are wrapping up. I wish you luck on your endeavors on becoming a hero Midoriya." Kamui Woods said before going to walk away.
"W-Wait!" I called out out to him before flipping through my notebook. "C-Can I please get an autograph?"
"Certainly." Kamui Woods said, taking my pen before I presented my entry of him. His eyes widening at what he saw. "You believe that I can enhance my effectiveness of the super move if I applied my feet more?"
So he noticed that.
"Of course with what I have observed from how your Quirk works, you should be able to generate branches from your feet to function similar to tree roots. Plant roots have been known to breakthrough soil, rock, and concrete. So if the need arises the roots would function like an anchor, keeping you in place for stronger villains to prevent you from being pulled away or to better capture them. Or use your feet midair to capture a villain by surprise. That and maybe a few more ideas for places on your costume to sprout more branches from..." I said before feeling a vine brushing against my face.
"Breath Izuku, breath. I don't think we could start to understand you anymore." Erika said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
Nearly did it again...
"Still that does sound like a good suggestion, might need to work the later idea out after I practice with the first." Kamui Woods said, getting me to smile.
"I might be able to use that as well." Erika said with a smile, getting my face to redden.
"Y-You both really think so?" I said, them to nod.
"I do." Kamui Woods said as he handed my my note book back. "Now you keep an eye on each other, especially on her Midoriya."
"W-Was already planning on it. The both of us." I said nervously as Erika growled at him, with Kamui Wood waved as he walked away from us and towards the police.
Letting a sigh of relief as I put away my note book and-
"Izuku!" The air left my lungs as my mother tackled me and my shirt was promptly soaked as she hugged me. Quickly returning it as All Might followed behind her with a small smile with Erika looking at her curiously.
"Hey mom. I'm alright, well mostly." I said to mom as she separated from me as looked at the bandages on my hand, arms, and face.
"It's going to be alright Izuku, between what they did and what the detective told me they should never bother you again. Now let's get you to U.A. to heal up. Afterwards you are going to tell me everything that has happened this past month. Serizawa and Toshinori told me enough, but I need to hear it from you Izuku. Nothing but the truth, okay." Mom said, placing both of her hands on my face.
"Okay." I said honestly, with mom giving me a soft smile before letting go of my face and turning to face Erika
"So your Erika I have been hearing from my son, I must say that I am happy that Izuku finally found a girl. She is quite beautiful too." Mom said with a smile.
W-What!
Erika's face gained a brief reddish hue and All Might coughed up some blood, but looked amused.
"M-Mom!" I shouted as my face turned red while she smiled.
"Honestly I am just happy to meet the person who has made my son so happy for this past month. It is nice to finally meet you Erika." Mom said with a smile
"It's nice to meet you too Mrs-""Please just call me Inko." Erika tried to speak, but mom cut her off with a smile.
Erika stared at her for a moment before smiling.
"It's nice to finally meet you Inko." Erika said, with mom to nod as All Might was walking up to me.
"I'm glad to see you are alright Young Midoriya, and quick thinking alerting Serizawa to what was happening when you could. Although he could have done without Erika breaking out." All Might said, getting her to growl.
"H-Honestly I'm relieved that she showed up...that and she didn't kill them." I breathed out a sigh of relief.
Considering what she did to Shiten the first time she broke out, it was possible. Especially what little I have glimpsed in her human form. Then again so can anyone else with a strong enough Quirk if the didn't have the proper control.
"Mainly because I was more concerned with seeing you again Izuku. Besides I would not have killed them. Still they were lucky that hero was there." Erika growled out, getting me to let out a sigh of relief while still feeling nervous.
Perhaps it is best that I didn't know what she was going to do.
"I probably would have done the same thing. Although I don't think anyone would have noticed." Mom said, getting All Might to cough up blood and Erika to look on in curiousity.
All Might quickly moved next to me.
"Can she actually do that?" All Might asked me in an almost whisper.
"N-Never seen it, but with my knowledge of her Quirk and what I have seen a great number of the parts that comprise the human body are considered small objects." I said as All Might began to cough some more blood before wiping it away.
I did warn him what would happen yesterday...
"And I have no plans on going against it anytime Young Midoriya, this just...reinforces it." All Might said, getting me to nod.
"I'm happy to hear that Toshinori." Mom said with a smile, getting All Might to nod. Looking a little nervous perhaps. "Now Izuku let's get you and Erika away back to U.A."
Erika growled a little at that before sighing as I got closer to her.
"You don't want to go back there." I said as she let out a soft growl.
"I have been stuck there in the base in a medically induced coma for weeks now. I would rather not spend as less time as I can there now." Erika said before sighing while I nodded.
She had just regained a human form and broken out before more tests could be preformed on her. Between all the time there and finally getting her wish after so long she would probably love nothing more than to not go there again.
But she still knows that there were a few more things that still need done.
"W-Well if what Aoki and Serizawa explained to Detective Tsukauchi than hopefully you won't have to stay there for much longer." I said with a small smile, hoping that I was right.
"You are right Midoriya." Aoki said as he approached us, getting me to let out a sigh of relief.
So I was right.
"Honestly the director and the principal actually started to come up with something before everything went down. Honestly with his Quirk and Monarch's resources it is scarily efficient to get it off the ground immediately is frightening." Aoki said with a shudder, his wings flapping nervously.
"I believe Serizawa mentioned something like that earlier, but he give any details on it." All Might said.
"Believe me they're still planning things out, but they should have everything around sorted shortly." Aoki said.
"Than let's better get there soon." Mom said, getting me to while Erika let out a soft growl. "And I don't think that their might be enough room for in the car..."
"Agent Aoki, and I figured. Dr. Tōga is busy...Agent Hawkins owes me a favor. At least my phone still has plenty of charge this time." Aoki said, getting my mom to nod.
"I see, anyway thank you for helping my son." She said, getting Aoki to wave it off.
"Just doing my job. This wouldn't be the first time I had to have his back." Aoki said before turning to me and Erika. "Besides remind me later to send you the recordings I took of those two."
I-I knew it! S-So he was recording-
"E-Erika!" I said as one of her vines wrapped around me and pulled me close to her. Embracing me once again and my face to go red
"I believe that I have waited long enough Izuku." Erika said resting my head on her shoulder as she lifted me off the ground. My face turning even redder as I saw tears starting to well up in my mother's eyes as she smiled. Looking back at Erika I saw that there was a small grin on her face. "I'm not letting you go until we get back."
E-Erika I wouldn't have minded but couldn't have waited a little bit more!
"My, my I didn't think that you had it in you Izuku. But it makes me happy to see you finally find someone." Mom said with a grin, getting my face to redden even more.
A-And from Erika's face her too.
"M-Mom!" I protested.
"I know, couldn't resist but I'm still happy to see this." Mom beamed at us while All Might sighed.
"Either way let's head out Young Midoriya, Erika." All Might said.
"Y-Yes please." I said.
"Absolutely." Erika said as she began to walk away still carrying me, following All Might hurriedly.
"I'll be just a moment." Mom called back, most likely getting the recordings for later...
Quickly letting out a sigh of relief at seeing that mom's car wasn't that far from us. I-I'm not sure how much more of this I can take right now...
But looking at Erika's face and seeing how happy she was...I suppose maybe wouldn't mind it that much. N-Not that I already enjoyed it a little aready.
(Temporary Monarch Base/ U.A. Training Grounds - An hour and 15 minutes later)
The ride to U.A. was certainly an...interesting experience.
Erika wouldn't let me go the entire time and kept looking at window curiously as All Might drove. Mom trying her best not to burst into tears as she kept asking Erika different questions every now and than. Mainly about me and herself time during the month before. She answered some of them, but mom stopped as she noticed Erika kept looking out the window.
Kept looking at the everything and everyone as we passed by. I think this was the first time she has gotten a good look at how the world has changed since her time. I mean most of the architecture isn't all that different from the later half of the Age of Kaiju, but the people have certainly changed.
People's whose appearances were different from their Quirk or perhaps inhertited traits from their parents. Or those who didn't have those traits instead those with unusual hair colors and eye shape and colors.
Honestly no one no what had caused those changes except they started to appear once Quirks did and that it was genetic as those Quirkless including myself inherited them. And honestly it was hard to tell which was just hair dye and contacts or completely natural.
During the later half of the ride Erika kept pointing out a passerby that caught her eye, asking me what their Quirk could possibly be. And I would try to answer to what I can observe. There was no way to truly know what the full details of their Quirks was, but it wasn't that hard to make a guess. Most people seem to incorporate some aspect of their Quirk in things like fashion choices, accessories, or hair styles.
Soon I guess it became sort of a guessing game between the two of us, one pointing someone and the other guessing their Quirk before switching places.
I haven't done anything like this since elementary school...it was kind of fun to do so again and with someone else. We kind of got absorbed in our game that we didn't notice when we arrived at U.A..
Or mom crying tears of happiness out the window.
Once we got there Erika was hesitant to separate from me, but managed to do so without being forced to pry me from her this time. Or even the mention of a crowbar. After that I was healed up by Recovery Girl, and only managed to avoid a cane to the shin was because it was mainly self defense.
That had been almost an hour ago. Right now me, mom, and All Might were in a side room in Monarch's base.
Where I told here everything that had happened this past month, and at her and All Might's insistence how I truly met him nearly 10 month's ago.
Mom was less than pleased with how I met All Might, but her expression softened as I continued to explain everything.
With her expression changing constantly as I explained everything with All Might filling in some extra details. Everything from happiness to sadness and every emotion in between. Add in a lot of tears from time to time, all with looking in me in worry.
I told mom the truth about everything, almost completely uninterrupted throughout the whole time. The only time I stoped was when Yujiro dropped in to stay hello before heading back to preform more tests on Erika. Vials of blood in hand.
I had just finished telling mom every to mom, not looking her in the eyes. Already having glimpsed how worried she looked.
The room was silent for what felt like minutes, none of use speaking first until I heard mom sigh.
"You both should have told me everything long before now." Mom said, getting me to nod sullenly. "Especially you Izuku. You should have told me about me about One for All months ago, before you were nearly the first casualty of a Kaiju in centuries twice in a month, and especially before you began those blood transfusions and how they are affecting your body."
"I know mom..." I said while looking at the floor.
"I could understand everything with Erika considering Monarch, but when the Kaiju first attacked and you got that scar you that's when you should have told me. Before everything else." Mom said, getting me to nod again with a sigh.
"I didn't want you to worry mom. You already worry about me enough." I said, only to instantly regret it as mom's faced gained a sullen expression.
"Of course I would worry, it's my job to worry about you Izuku. You wish to become a hero and now I find out that you have a Quirk that you can barely control and that no one truly knows how else Erika's blood will affect you. I know that you are getting help for the both of them, but it won't stop me from worrying about you Izuku. Especially with what I had heard about with the Kaiju and seen today." Mom said with a sigh, her eyes watering.
For a moment mom looked like she was going to cry and I felt my heart ache at the sight I had so wanted to avoid.
Instead to my surprise she smiled.
"Izuku while I can't stop worrying about you, I can't help be feel so proud of you. You truly are on the path of becoming a hero. I've seen your drive for it these past few months, but to actually hear and see what you have done with that is nothing short of breathtaking." Mom said as tears streamed down her eyes, with my own eyes tearing up as well. "You did your best to ensure no one else got hurt when you were attacked by Shiten, and more importantly what you did with Erika. You gave her hope that for the first time in centuries, stayed with her to the very end no matter what, and saved her life."
Tears began to stream from my eyes as mom began to approach me.
"I'm always going to worry about you Izuku, especially when you are going to become a hero.I can't bear the thought of seeing you hurt. But I know that it won't stop you anyway if it means saving someone. I can still remember all the times that didn't stop you when you played hero, only to get back up and continue with a large smile on your face." Mom said with a small chuckle, to which I returned with my face a flush a little.
T-Tripping and injured myself so many times back then only to get back up...
"Back than I shouldn't have said those things..." Mom said, her tears pouring out. "But I am so happy that you continued to pursue your dream Izuku when I-"
I quickly rushed towards mom and hugged her, cutting her off before she could say anything else. I knew what she was going to say, and I didn't want it burden anymore.
"M-Mom please don't think that way anymore, I never blamed you for that not even once. S-So please stop thinking like that." I said, my own tears pouring out. "I-I'm just happy that you believe that I can be a hero mom."
She hugged me closer to her as she cried and I didn't dare to move even a single millimeter.
All Might who had been silent since mom began to speak walked towards us.Seeming a little unsure of himself before taking a deep breath and placing a comforting hand on mom's shoulder.
We stayed like this for a few minutes, letting mom just cry out for as long as she needed. As long as we both needed...
Eventually mom's crying died down as she separated herself from me, wiping the tears from her face with a small smile while did the same.
"What did I do to get such a caring son?" Mom asked as All Might smiled.
"Simple, you raised him right." All Might said, getting mom's smile to widen.
"That I did." Mom said before hugging me again. "Izuku I am so proud of you. I can never stop worrying about you, but I will support you in whatever way I can so you can become a hero."
She took a step back and both me and All Might stood straighter as she gave us a stern glance before sighing.
"What has happened can not be changed, especially with you Izuku." Mom said, getting me to wince. "So Izuku, Toshinori please promise me that there will be no more secrets like this. About One for All, hero training, or anything related to Kaiju. Just the truth, alright?"
"Of course mom." I said, smiling while continuing to wipe away my tears.
"I wouldn't even dare to think about it Inko." All Might said with a smile before frowning. "There is some more that you need to know about One for All. Izuku already knows and it is nothing that can harm him...but it is best not to talk about it now."
Mom looked between me and him curiously while I nodded in agreement.
"Honestly it's best that you wait for it Mom." I said, getting her to nod.
"Alright, but I need you to promise me something Izuku. Please try to limit how much you get hurt or overwork yourself. I know it's impossible not to get hurt given that you wish to be a hero. But with how powerful your Quirk is and how much you push yourself training, I don't know what I would do if you pushed yourself too far and break your body so hard that nothing can be done. And that you would have to give up your dream for sure." Mom said, getting me to pause for a few moments. "All that I am asking it that you at least try."
Briefly I shuddered at the mention of that, and that such a reality might be possible.
With the stockpiled power of One for All and how my body couldn't handle barely more than 1% now, push it too far and I could break myself. Even if Recovery Girl healed up my arm from yesterday, her Quirk has it's limits. If I were to continue like this than the damage to my body would pile up over time until it breaks...
Quickly shaking my head of those thoughts I looked at mom.
"I promise to try mom. I know that I-""That's all that I ask Izuku." I tried to say, but mom cut me off as she hugged me with a smile.
To which I did return happily.
Only to be surprised as All Might joined in on the hug.
"You are very lucky to have someone like your mother in your life Young Midoriya." All Might said with a grin, to which I just nodded. Before to my surprise his face flushed as he looked at mom. "A-And I am quite fortunate to have meet both her and you. To have the both of you in my life."
As soon as she heard that mom began to cry again and hugged the both of us even harder, getting All Might to cough up some blood.
"Toshinori I am happy to hear that, honestly I was a little worried for a bit. But I suppose that this was just one small step backwards." Mom said with a smile as she let go of the two of us.
"And one larger step forwards." All Might said with a smile.
"But what do you think of this Izuku?" Mom asked as they both turned to face me.
I-I took a minute to compose myself before smiling and giving them my answer.
"A-As long as you two are happy and that you are alright with this mom. But like All Might said, I'm quite lucky to have the two of you in my life." I said honestly.
Before nearly doubling over as mom hugged me tightly. With All Might just standing besides her while shaking his head. I just hugged mom back while smiling.
H-Honestly this was going far better than I originally thought that it was going to be. Than again I didn't know that things were going to go like this at all...
Still there was no doubt that this here with mom and All Might felt nice...
Monarch could possibly call us in any moment now. But right now just like with Erika, I just wish for this moment the three of us to last as long as it can.
(Five Minutes Later)
A few minutes later All Might received a notification from Director Serizawa that we could come into the lab as they were done with the current round of testing with Erika and we left the room for the lab.
It wasn't that much of a walk to the lab, I took a deep breath as we approached the lab.
Whatever Director Serizawa or Principle Nezu had planned I have no idea what it is. Time to find out.
Me and All Might took a step towards the door, only to notice mom hanging back against the walls.
"Mom?" I asked as I turned to face her.
"I-I'm alright Izuku. Just preparing myself." Mom said as she took a deep breath. "It's still quite a bit to take in."
"Believe me I know, but with Erika having regained a human form and Izuku here things should be more at ease." All Might said with a smile.
"T-Though a word of warning mom. Erika has no qualms about taking herself apart at all." I said with a wince which mom shared.
"So don't be surprised to see pieces of her body being experimented on, noted." Mom said, getting me to nod as we entered the lab.
"Dr. Shiragami wait a minute to get everything out." Mifune said as he, Yujiro, and a few assistants were pulling a few devices embedded within Erika. With her looking like she was trying to break up into spores.
"I could easily just break out of these." She grumbled out. Wearing a new hospital robe, that seem to be larger than her last one.
"If you do it by physical means or breaking into spores we can still lose genetic material of yours. Losing even a single drop maybe be a minor set back, but it will only extend the duration of your stay here." Dr. Tōga said with a grin. "And I know that you would hate to be here any longer than you need to."
Upon hearing this Erika let out a soft growl out before her spores settled back into her body.
"Fine." She sighed out.
I just shook my head at that to see the lab around me, noticing the lab hadn't changed that much from yesterday. Thankfully the smell wasn't that much overpowering compared to all the times I've been here before.
Some agents looked liked to gathering the remains of Erika's previous body...it looked like that would still take a while to clear everything up.
And there seemed to be a large sheet nailed to the wall, presumably from where Erika broke through. One top of that was a sign that said 'Do not fill in' with bold lettering. Leaving me confused on why it would be here.
Before looking with a shudder at noticed a few scientists dissecting pieces of Erika alongside mom. Including a whole bunch of her vines and even an arm.
Never going to get used to that...
"Seems like you are doing well bean sprout." Agent Gordon said, breaking me out of my thoughts to see him with Serizawa, Graham, Nezu, and Aoki walking up to us. To which I just nodded a little shakily.
"B-Better than before at least." I said getting him to nod.
"Good, Dupre heard about what happened. Said you did decently, but going have to work on fighting while using your Quirk. She'll get back tomorrow and work on sparring with you til the day after. Hope you're ready bean sprout." Gordon said, getting me to gulp and nod.
I-I was really not looking forward to that.
"Still we're glad that you are alright Midoriya." Serizawa said with a small smile.
"And it is nice to finally meet you." Graham said, stretching out a hand to mom. "Your son has been such a big help."
"I've heard and it is nice to meet you dear." Mom said as she shook her hand.
"Serizawa, Nezu if you would please. What exactly are you two planning?" All Might asked as Nezu waved his paw while grinning.
"All in do time Toshinori. But I believe that you three, especially Midoriya would be interested the current status of Erika." The principal of U.A. said, with everyone turning to face me.
Before I could even answer, one of Erika's vines wrapped around my shoulder as she walked next to me.
"Y-Your not going to stop this, are you?" I asked Erika, who only grinned at me.
"Nope." Erika said, to which I noticed both mom and Graham looked amused at the two of use. All Might just shook his head while Aoki brought out a crowbar.
Erika growled at him, and the Monarch Agent lowered it.
"Now now, calm down Dr. Shiragami." Yujiro said as he and Mifune walked towards us.
To which Erika just huffed at as she got a little closer to me.
"Still there is little to learn about Erika as we know now. And quite frankly it will probably be quite a long while before we can comprehend the nature of her cells now." Mifune said.
"Please elaborate on what you mean on that Dr. Mifune." Serizawa said, getting him to nod.
"Erika might appear human, but her cells are anything but. What we can tell is thanks to the Shiragami compound is that they are more human like now. But they are so warped that they could barely be considered human even by Quirk standards." Mifune said.
"Besides the traits of plant and Godzilla DNA still being predominant in her cells, they are filled with traits of junk DNA we can't make heads or tails of. Not that the chimeric nature helps in identifying which traits are which, but what we can identify is that they are clearly not anything we've seen on Earth." Yujiro said, surprising us all.
Though after a bit of thinking I suppose it makes sense. Given the nature of her cells and the years she spent in space. No one knows what she could have possibly encountered...although we do have a possibly idea.
"That would explain the possible traces of Ghidorah traits we found in Erika." Graham said, beating me to explaining it.
And judging by how mom was shaking, shocking mom.
"W-Wait Ghidorah! Are you saying that Erika encountered a Ghidorah!" Mom said fearfully, looking at me and here.
"I kind of had the same reaction mom." I said while Erika looked between the two of us.
"What is a Ghidorah?" Erika asked while tilting her head, shocking Agent Aoki as his wings unfurled.
"Okay how does she not know that?" He said.
"King Ghidorah emerged years after she was last on Earth. So she might have encountered one out in space." I said before turning to face her. "Erika have you encounter what appeared to be a three headed western dragon in space with bio electric capabilities?"
The way she let out a snarl confirmed my answers.
"So that's what they are called, I encountered two of them. No where near Earth though." Erika growled out, getting both me and mom to let out a sigh of relief.
All Might coughed up some blood while Serizawa's and Nezu's expressions hardened.
"And what are the cases of these Ghidorahs if you do know." Serizawa said with a grime tone.
"One dead the other unknown. The first I encountered was much smaller than the second one. I encountered it on a dead planet. Nothing much on that planet except for ruins, a giant plant, and swarms of some kind of metallic insects. Saw it feeding on them and heard it fighting something else on the planet before leaving. The second one attacked me out of nowhere, and the closest thing to have killed me since Gojira." Erika said with a shudder before I jumped back a little as she grew claws and her fangs appeared on her cheeks. "Barely survived and I only managed to kill it by getting it caught in a star's gravity pull."
R-Really hope that the first Ghidorah she encountered was somewhere really, really far from here! While from what she described the second one was possibly younger than the first, but that wouldn't make it any less dangerous.
What she said only confirmed humanity's fears that there was more out there.
"Are you alright Erika?" I asked, getting her to sigh.
"I'm fine Izuku, I just don't like remembering about it." Erika said.
"I see, but did you make that it destroyed every trace of it. The Ghidorah's regenerative capabilities rivaled yours Erika." All Might said.
"That I did, last I saw was it's wing reaching out before being dragged into the sun. The best I could have ever done to it was ripped off a tail and even that was growing back. I ate the tail afterwards." Erika growled out with a grimace. "Would not recommended it."
S-She ate a Ghidorah tail! Then again she probably was driven by instinct at the time of the encounter.
Yet still she ate a Ghidorah tail!
"Okay that would explain the traits in her cells." Yujiro said. "Meaning in her previous form she could possibly integrate DNA through consumption. Possibly "
"We do have a student with a Quirk with a similar nature. Going to have ask Chiyo after her lunch break for permission before we could even use his blood for testing." Nezu said.
"That is if Erika hadn't possibly lost that trait before undergoing the process." Dr. Mifune said.
"So it would seem like there would be more testing to find out. The Ghidorah samples you two requested should arrive tomorrow." Graham said, getting Mifune and Yujiro to not.
"Excuse me but what about the Ghidorah traits in Erika's blood, how will that affect her and Izuku?" Mom asked worriedly, something I shared with her.
"Honestly we have no clue how this will affect Erika, while more prominent it just seems to be more or less like the rest of the junk DNA in her cells." Yujiro said with a sigh.
"And from what the docs had notified us is that bean sprout had already been effected." Agent Gordon said.
"T-Through the development of electroplaques among my spine. The rest of the changes are influenced through whatever else lies within Erika's cells." I said, still shuddering at the thought at the thought of having traits of that Kaiju in both of our blood.
"Dr. Tōga notify me immediately if you find any other such changes in her blood." Serizawa said before turning to Erika. "Now than, what was this about ruins on a dead planet?!"
All activity in the room stopped at that mention and I quickly pulled out my notebook, flipping to an empty page.
N-Nearly forgot about that with the conformation of more Ghidorahs out there that Erika encounter proof of sentient life!
Granted we had been aware of extraterrestrial life since the Age of Kaiju with examples such as Ghidorah and Hedorah. But never had there been any sign of sentient life that was more comparable in salience to humans. Unlike the intelligence that had been recorded in Ghidorah himself.
Erika had actual proof, but according to her it was all ruins of what she could find.
"As I said ruins, something had happened on that planet but it had turned into a storm swept planet long ago. I already said what I found. Only found one moon with life and claimed it as a territory for a long before leaving. At least that is what I can remember." Erika said as the vine around me pulled back, looking a little morose. "Just drifting through space just looking through prey or anything really..."
"Erika are you alright?" I asked her, getting her to shaking her head.
"I'm alright, just prefer not to think about those years. Just a whole lot of nothing." Erika said as I put away my notebook as her vine wrapped around me again. To which I just nodded.
It seemed like she didn't want to talk about it anymore. Erika spent just so much time there she would rather not continuing it at the moment.
Something that was quickly picked up by everyone else as All Might coughed up some more blood before wiping it away,
"Dr. Mifune, Dr. Tōga what other changes have you found so far about Erika?" All Might said, getting there attention and I heard Erika letting out a sigh of relief.
"Honestly not much that we can understand, her body is mainly human in appearance but her muscle structure is comparable to those with strength enhancing Quirk. Her teeth are still primarily thorn and fang like, with retractable claws and fangs that as I am sure you all have seen." Mifune said as the extremities he mentioned began to recede.
"And surprisingly from what we found her entire skeletal structure is similar to a mixture of bone and cartilage, yet it his possible to harmlessly split apart at least in her limbs." Yujiro said as he pointed as the arm of Erika that was being dissected.
The scientist working on it looked up from his work briefly, waving awkwardly before going back to work.
Me and mom did the same thing while Erika looked down at her hand, contemplating Mifune's words for a moment.
"How exactly are they capable to split apart?" Graham asked, with no one but noticing that Erika concentrated for a moment before her hand split in two!
She flexed her hand and everything still worked before bringing her hand back together. Erika looked at it curiously for an another moment before facing me.
"Izuku do you mind throwing something?" She asked.
I thought about it for a moment and nodded.
"Of course." I said, grabbing the lighter and throwing it up.
"While we are unsure it might-" Yujiro said, before Erika's entire forearm split apart into four pieces and multiple vines shot out. One of them catching the lighter. "-have something to do with her ability to turn her entire body into spores. That would explain the vines sprouting all over the place from openings created on her body."
"And even after nearly two months later it seems no one has an explanation on how she is able to do so." Serizawa said, getting both doctors to nod.
Erika retracted her vines back into her body, and true to their words they seemed to be dispersing into spores. Except for one vine that extended and brought the lighter back to me.
"Thank you Izuku." She said with a smile while retracting her vine.
"It's no problem Erika." I said happily as I pulled out a notebook, thinking of the possible utilities of such an ability.
Only for it to be floated out of my hands.
"Mom?" I asked, wondering what she was doing as she walked towards me.
"While I appreciate the enthusiasm Izuku, but I think that maybe you should save that for later. I believe that Erika wants to test out those theories with you." Mom said with a smile as she caught my notebook.
Now that I think about it she did say that she wished to test out the root idea I had about Kamui Wood's Quirk. A-And looking at Erika her face seemed to flush a little as her arm fully closed back up.
So she would like to explore any theories I could have about what she could do now. M-Maybe...
"E-Erika would you like too-""I would like too test whatever ideas you come up with. You just needed to ask?" Erika said with a smile while trying and failing to retain my composure.
"O-Okay." I said after a minute, smiling.
Mom had tears in her eyes, All Might looked amused as he shook his head, and both Yujiro and Graham smiled at us.
"I think you two can take sometime to do that as a break from experimentation. Don't you believe so Director Serizawa." Graham said with a smile towards.
"It may be for the best, but only for a small of time. And for Dr. Erika to be monitored." Serizawa said sternly, getting Erika to growl and the grip of her vine to tighten around me.
"Then there should be no problem if I take care of that Serizawa, besides I believe that Inko would have joined them too anyways." All Might said, with Erika calming down slightly. Her vine grips starting to loosen up around me.
I let a out a sigh of relief as that happened while mom just shook her head at All Might's words with a smile on her face.
"Very well, just bring Erika back in when I text you Yagi." Serizawa said with a sigh.
"Now than, besides her stomach while is similar sack sac appearance and skin tone Erika appears virtually human. Well in the Aqe of Quirks at least. Although not quite in her original body shape. We've only been able to measure her height so far and that here ungodly healing factor has slowed down. Still there but still far surpassing any Quirk recorded so far, but it is difficult to tell to pin down the exact age of this body." Mifune said.
I suppose that was a given.
Erika was 24 when she was killed, but that was her original body.
Her originally body has long since been decomposed. She was brought back from a rose bush spliced with her and Gojira DNA into a Kaiju. The roses were alive for 5 years before nearly being wiped out and spliced with Gojira cells. Most species of roses usually live for about anywhere from 10 to 100 years with the right care. Muddied with the fact they had been spliced with Gojira DNA and her regenerative factor making her borderline immortal she probably hasn't aged very much or none at all in the centuries.
At the very least compared to the photo's that remained of her human form compared to as she was now, she was possibly a little younger biology than when she died. Still she looked somewhat like she did now just perhaps a bit different for the lack of a better term.
I was broken from my thoughts as I felt another vine wrapped around me, quickly dragging me over to a smiling Erika.
"D-Don't tell me I did it again." I said as one of her vines began nuzzling against my cheeks.
"That you did bean sprout." Gordon said gruffly.
"Glad you think like that Izuku. It at least gives me a little familiarity in this body. Sure it might be taller, perhaps young, and bigger." Erika said, briefly look down before shaking her head. "Honestly I care less about all of that details, I'm just happy to have a human form again."
"And I'm sure you will be even happier to know that you no longer have to be placed under sleep through medical needs any more Dr. Shiragami." Yujiro said, getting Erika to beam as her vines tightened around me!
It was starting to get difficult to breath...
"You have no idea!" Erika said excitedly, before noticing my condition and retracting her vine. "Sorry Izuku."
"I-It's alright." I said, quickly refilling my lungs with air.
After centuries of not being able to sleep due to her biology, the prospect of actually getting proper sleep was probably the second best thing that she could have ever heard of in a long time.
"From what we can also observe she will still need plenty of sunlight. While she does need eat and sleep, with how much chloroplasts in her cells she needs to also photosynthesis to stay healthy." Mifune said.
"And hopefully not have the urge to have her eat principal Nezu." All Might sighed out.
"Oh no it's there, just restraining the urge to do so with Izuku here." Erika admitted nonchantly.
I-I kind of figured that might have been the reason she didn't try to go after him more.
Nezu quickly stepped behind Agent's Aoki wings before poking his head out from them.
"Probably a good idea not to keep me alone with her, period." Nezu said, trying not to look fearful. "And as I said long ago consoling with Ryo. Besides the fact she will need to learn how to manage any remaining instincts, quite frankly she needs it."
"A-A/Agreed." Both me and Erika said at the same time, looking at each other before I looked away with my face aflame.
M-Mom quietly chuckling at our reaction didn't help.
"Well I think that about cover's it. Director Serizawa I believe that you should take it from here." Yujiro said, getting him to nod.
"Of course, now everyone here knows that Agent Aoki is being registered for a Japanese hero license." He said, getting myself and mom to nod. Why Erika just made a small growl that I took as an affirmative. "This base will begin to be demolished with six days slowly, focusing on destroying the non critical facilities first before moving personal and critical experiments either to Antarctica or the Aomori Prefecture base in the coming days. Agent Aoki will be staying behind in charge of management of the Shiragami Research Outpost."
"So your making an outpost Musutafu then?" Mom asked, while Aoki looked sheepish.
"Not quite, the outpost will actually U.A. itself. That and a small apartment building located not that far from the main gate for barracks." Graham said, shocking me and Erika. "Nezu said there was enough resources to be able to monitor both Erika's and Midoriya's conditions alongside having a small handful of Monarch personal here."
W-Wait they were having U.A. as an outpost!
I suppose considering mine and Erika's conditions alongside their familiarity with a majority of the staff, but still.
"Honestly considering everything I believe that it might be for the best, Aoki graduated from here in the Support Course and with his expertise he would be perfect for his new job." Nezu said, as All Might coughed up some blood.
"So you've applied for a job here as well?" He asked Aoki.
"I did, but just for a TA position under Power Loader for the first years. Saying something about one of his potential applicants having quite the record of accidents to her and needing all the help he can get." Aoki said with a shrug.
Given his previous experience then he should be able to blend right in.
"And what about this apartment building than. You must've been planning on it for something?" All Might said as he turned to Nezu, who just waved his paw dismissively.
"Oh nothing more than an investment that has been collecting dust for months now after it's last tenets have graduated. So what better way than to put it good use. Besides it would have become redundant as the construction of dormitory buildings have finally been approved by the board." Nezu said.
"Wait, so you're turning U.A. into a boarding school?" Mom asked with a frown.
"Not at the moment no, it only just got approved. Construction won't begin for a while until plans are drafted up and permits made to construct them. Considering all the red tape I had to go through to get it approved that could take months before they can be built. The idea it could become a boarding school isn't feasible until next school year." Nezu said, getting mom to nod. "Sometimes I can't understand why you humans feel the need to complicate things so much."
"Disregarding that as Aoki has told to you, the idea is still in the works and we will need to vet who to assign to this outpost." Graham said.
"That should take a few days, but the doctors said they wouldn't mind staying back in Japan for a few weeks." Agent Gordon said, getting Yujiro and Mifune to nod.
"I'll still be here in Musutafu for a while just to check up on any changes in both of your cells, better to have results as soon as it's taken. Mifune will however be in Aomori Prefecture to handle any more tests from there." Yujiro said.
Seems like while they had an idea on how to go things from here. Given they had a base over or around all three known hibernating Kaiju it would make sense. And U.A.'s security is nearly unbreachable, making it a perfect place for an outpost to check up on Erika's and my own condition.
Of course they would have to find other agents and scientists who could blend into U.A. in some position or another like Aoki could.
Yet there is one detail that they haven't mentioned yet.
"What about Erika?" I asked, getting there attention. "When you said that you were moving operations and getting rid of the base. So where would Erika be staying?" I asked, getting Serizawa to sigh as Erika growled.
"We haven't thought of that yet, but she can no longer stay in her containment cell. Even if we move her out of the city, it is a definite that she would find a way to escape back to you." Serizawa said, giving Erika a pointed look.
She just let out a huff, not denying his remarks.
"Then Erika can stay with us." Mom said with a smile. Shocking everyone including me and getting All Might to cough up blood. "We do have an extra guest room in our apartment. Of course we might need to be cleaned up a little, but she can stay with us. I'm sure that you would have suggested something similar, right Izuku?"
"O-Of course." I said as Erika's vines tightened around me. "As you said, you didn't want to be here anymore. That and you probably would have escape like Director Serizawa said."
"That I would." Erika admitted without any shame.
I took a deep breath before speaking.
"Then if mom hadn't asked you to stay with us first I would have!" I said, before looking away from here quickly.
A-At least I managed to say that to her without breaking into a stutter!
Soon I was broken from my thoughts as Erika wrapped me up in her vines and pulled me closer to her as she hugged me.
H-Honestly why does this keep surprising me...
"I do believe this might be the best solution Director." Graham said as tears welled up in mom's eyes while All Might just shook his head with a grin.
"Going to have to agree with Graham on this one." Gordon said as Serizawa looked between the two of them and me and Erika. With her letting out a growl at him.
"E-Erika please, there is no need for that." I said, getting her to look at me for a moment before sighing.
"Fine." She said.
"Midoriya is right Erika, the both of them. But you still need some more time." Director Serizawa before facing mom. "She can leave with you in three days, plenty of time to gain more samples and to examine her condition. Along with to help provide her with the basic necessities and time to prepare things for her. That doesn't mean that Erika have to stay here all the time. If she can make a request a head of time she can leave U.A. grounds."
"Under supervision of course. But we don't have to worry about that it would seem." Nezu said as Erika hugged me a little tighter.
"It's just a little bit longer Erika, compared to a month these three days should past by." I said, feeling her vines loosen as they retracted into her back.
Yet she didn't let me go...nor did I really want to.
"And everything will be ready by then, a room that you can actually call your own." Mom said, walking up to Erika and hugging her.
She flinched for a moment, before a vine extended from her back and brought mom into the hug too.
"Thank you." Erika said, before I heard something crack and mom's eyes started to tear up again.
Oh no.
"Erika can you please release her?" I asked, Erika's eyes widening as she quickly let go of the both of us.
"Sorry." Erika said, but mom waved her off.
"It's alright dear, nothing a little rest can't fix." Mom said, smiling but trying to hide a wince. If Erika noticed or not I couldn't tell.
"Now might be a good time to test out those theories Young Midoriya. I still have access to those one pointers." All Might said, looking between mom and Erika briefly while I nodded.
Need to work on helping Erika rein in her strength...and maybe a theory or two to test them out.
"Try not to break them too much, Nezu wants to have them repurposed into regular models in eight days and I would prefer to be able to salvage them." Aoki said, getting me and All Might to pause.
"What do you mean by that?" All Might asked, getting Nezu to shake his head as he pulled out a phone.
"My fault, but I only just received confirmation before you arrived Toshinori. With Monarch leaving for the time being, the Entrance Exam is being pushed back to it's original starting date on short notice. And the rest of the staff will receive it shortly." Nezu said, sending a message that caused All Might's and Aoki's phones to sound off.
"S-So that means that there are eight days until the entrance exams." I said, getting Nezu to nod.
Okay a little less time than I thought I had until the exams. I've already gotten a handle to using One for All at 1%. Then I just need to practice to try and maintain a higher percentage without strain by than.
It won't be easy, but I have been training nearly 10 months for this. I just need to put in a little extra effort these next few days when I can.
"Now that you have gotten that out of the way Nezu, I believe that it is best for us and Aoki to plan what happens these next few days." Serizawa said before turning to Erika. "And when you get back Erika there is something we need to ask you after Midoriya leaves for the day."
There was a growl forming in her throat, but died down as she looked at me.
"Fine." She said, getting Serizawa to nod as he and Graham began to talk with Nezu and Aoki. Mifune and Yujiro went back to work, with the later waving at us before going back to their work.
I waved back at him before feeling a vine wrapping around my waist and saw Erika trying to drag me out of the lab.
"E-Erika I know you are looking forward to this and so am I, but please wait for mom and All Might!" I said, getting Erika to stop in her tracks. She refused to look me in the face briefly as mom and All Might walked up to us.
The both of them looked amused much to our embarrassment as we walked out of the lab.
"Serizawa I'm taking my break." We heard Agent Gordon call out from the hallway. And a few moments later he joined us.
"Any reason you would wish to join us Gordon?" All Might asked as the Monarch agent walked alongside him and mom. With Erika still dragging me slightly ahead with her vine.
"Simple to catch up, and that I figured your girlfriend and protege would like to hear about some of our adventures back in the U.S. Yagi." Agent Gordon said with a smirk, getting mom to blush and All Might to cough up blood.
"H-How?" All Might asked.
"It's was obvious, even David was better at hiding his girlfriend from us and he was terrible at it. Still I'm proud of you for finally finding someone, took you a few decades Yagi." Gordon said with patting his back.
"Has it really been that long?" Mom asked curious, her face still aflame.
"Oh yes it has. And I have been waiting that long to tell whoever his girlfriend was about what happened in Omaha, Nebraska." Gordon said with a laugh and All Might to cough up blood.
"I-I thought we agreed never to talk about that again!" All Might said, his face aflame.
"And you broke that agreement years ago Yagi. It's payback time." Gordon said, getting mom to laugh a little.
"So what happened in Omaha?" Mom asked to All Might's mortification.
I was curious about what happened, but I felt the vine loosen up before vanishing into spores. Erika reforming right next to me, making urge to match my pace.
"Izuku there is something that I wanted to ask you. Something that I wish to relate to Agent Gordon." She said to me.
"Why not tell him now?" I asked, seeing him about to explain what happened in Omaha.
"I don't want to interrupt his story." Erika said with a small smile, showing off her fangs.
Ah, that would make sense.
"So what do you wanted to ask?" I asked as Erika leaned back and whispered her idea into my ear.
...That was actually a pretty good idea actually. Maybe perfect even.
"I don't see any problems with it and I doubt Director Serizawa will have any issue with it as well. Still I can't wait for tomorrow than." I said with a smile.
"Me neither." Erika said with a smile of her own.
As we continued to walk down the hallways and listened to Agent Gordon's story, I looked back at them. Agent Gordon telling it while mom listened in, looking like she was trying not to smile while All Might hid his face in his hands. Than back to Erika and her smile.
Today has been quite a wild ride. It had it's less than idea points, being attacked by Shiten and Kokuyōsenki being the biggest. F-Finding out the conformations of at least a living Ghidorah out in space was another.
But it also had it's high points with Erika finally being cured, and everything with her, mom, and All Might. So while it had it's downs, I believe that it was safe to say that perhaps also one of the best days of my life so far.
Yet it is also the beginning like when I first meet All Might. I promised Erika that when she was cured that I would help her learn the world that had changed since her absence.
And I intended to keep it no matter what.
(3rd POV - That Night - ???)
Kokuyōsenki groaned as she found herself slowly awake, finding herself bound to a chair. Her arms bound with chains in what appeared to be an abandoned apartment.
She wondered where she was. The last thing she knew was trying to figure out a way to break out of her cell or during transfer. Only for a cloud of dark smoke to appear in her cell and knocked out.
Trying to bring her blades out, a small bit of the blades came out of her arm while feeling groggy and nausea before pulling them back.
So she was either drugged or under the effect of some Quirk.
"Okay where the hell am I and why are you here?!" Kokuyōsenki heard a voice that wether or not she was under the influence of something that grated her nerves, especially these past few days.
"So they got you too." She said, turning to see Shiten in a similar situation to her. Only he looked scrawnier than the last time she saw him. Most likely from overuse of his Quirk while on Trigger.
Not that she cared for what happened to him now!
"Yes it would, now get me out of here!" Shiten demanded as he thrashed against the chains.
"Get yourself out, the job you hired me to do is done. You are on your own." Kokuyōsenki said, only enraging him even more.
"It is not as Deku hasn't been broken yet! And if not than I will find someone else and come after you!" Shiten growled out, getting Kokuyōsenki to shake her head.
"Good luck with that after what happened today and not having a single yen to your name." She said, enraging him even further.
"Now you listen here-" Shiten yelled out.
"It certainly seems you picked a spirited client this time Kokuyōsenki." A voice from a blacked out monitor on a wall said, cutting off Shiten and getting Kokuyōsenki to bite her tongue.
She knew who this person is, and the fact she still had her Quirk troubled her.
"Who are you, show yourself!" Shiten yelled out, continuing to thrash as he glared at the monitor.
"I would think that you would avoid a client like this unless they paid upfront." The voice said, ignoring the student turned villain.
"Like you do if you didn't already gather information on them. He did, but only after I had already gotten him from a previous job." Kokuyōsenki said evenly, getting a hum from the monitor.
"That does make more sense!" The voice said, irritating Shiten more. "And than there is boy with wasted potential."
"Wasted potential, who are you calling wasted potential!" Shiten yelled out.
"Why you my boy. I have read your record and I will admit it is quite impressive for your age. If you had been allowed to grow just a little longer, you would have been a proper villain. Instead you lack of focus and wrath led to your downfall." The voice said, causing Shiten to reach his boiling point.
"Don't you dare mock me!" Shiten roared out, only getting more pissed off as he heard laughing coming from the monitor.
"Mocking you, why I am only criticizing you boy. But those are the traits that I admire about Shiten." The voice said.
After hearing those words, Shiten's anger all but dissipated. Being replaced with confusion.
"What?" Shiten asked, trying to make sure he heard right.
"Now Shiten your wrath over being slighted ended your little market scandal operation. You simply went the wrong way about getting the message across your chosen victim and true target. And when that victim became the target your focus was entirely on him. With what I heard being that even he warned you what would happen, what you could have done, and that you had no plans afterwards. In the end only causing permanent damage to your body, am I correct?" The voice inquired.
Shiten's silence and glare was the answer he expected the boy to do.
"Still your single minded focus apron making you target pay I can admire. Focusing your wrath on making sure to break him no matter the damage to your body. First the old fashioned way of leaving him broken in an alleyway, and then making a spectacle at it. Alongside covering your bases to lessen the chances of losing a third time. It failed, but more often than not failure provides the greatest opportunity for learning. And it did, learning from each time. I must commend you for that and for being resourceful when the opportunities presented themselves." The voice said, and the both of them couldn't help but imagine the speaker on the other end was grinning.
The voice remained silent for a minute to drive the point in for Shiten before speaking again.
"It is quite a shame to see such potential waste, so I am going to give you chance shot at this Deku. In due time." The voice said, getting Shiten to grin.
"Really?" Shiten asked with a grin while Kokuyōsenki braced herself.
The poor fool didn't know what was about to happen.
"That is if you survive the process. The doctor was specific that you might not come back during the process. But given the results, it will be a beneficiary in the long term as our goals align on that front." The voice said, with Shiten began to look around in fear as he felt something well up inside of him.
"No wait-" Shiten yelled, but was cut off as a black sludge poured out of his mouth. He could only stare in horror as it consumed his body. He tried to struggle against it, but the efforts proved fruitless.
Kokuyōsenki watch, trying her best to reign in her own fear as Shiten was completely consumed by the sludge. The chains previously binding him cluttered to the ground uselessly and a horrid smell filling the air.
"I had expected you to have break out by now. The effects of the spines only work on Mutant types for about five minutes." The voice said while Kokuyōsenki stood up straighter in her chair.
"The effects did pass, but it would have provided me no use. Especially when you used Shiten as an example." Kokuyōsenki said, the voice on the other end going silent before letting out a dry chuckle.
"That was partly my intention, but Shiten is of a value of a test subject." The voice said.
There was a loud snap on the other end of the monitor, to which Kokuyōsenki did her best to ignore.
"Kokuyōsenki you however are worth more to me than he is." The voice said.
"So I take it that you have a job for me All for One." Kokuyōsenki said, and once again she could picture the smirk on the other end of the line.
"Straight to the point when it concerns a job, that was something Hachisuka admired about you." All for One said. "Kurogiri release her so we may conduit this transaction properly."
"Of course Master." Kurogiri said, turning on the lights to reveal he was in an adjacent kitchen.
With a glass of water in hand, he placed it down before unbind Kokuyōsenki's chains before letting them fall to the ground. Kokuyōsenki got up and stretched out her arms.
"This is for you miss." Kurogiri said, handing the glass of water as she inspected it. "There is nothing in the drink incase you are wondering. I pride myself on my bartending skills to not tamper with someone's drink."
"Considering our occupation, you can never be too careful." She said, to which Kurogiri nodded in agreement before taking a sip. "Thank you."
Kurogiri just nodded as she finished the glass before putting it on the chair.
"Now than, what is the nature of this job?" Kokuyōsenki asked.
"Long term and multifaceted. For the most part I would like for you to assist my charge and Kurogiri in their endeavors. But the main reason I had you sought out was from your genetic profile. It is a perfect match for a new project of mine. One for which Shiten will now be subjected too." All for One said, getting her to frown.
"Then why wasn't I subjected to it like him?" Kokuyōsenki said, she was absolutely sure that All for One would have subjected her to this experiment no problem.
"Your blood is the key for the process to even begin. Besides I believe that it is only fair that I at least make the offer and see if you would accept the proposal or not. And I will know if you are being honest with me." All for One said, getting Kokuyōsenki to sigh.
She was trapped and the only way out was either his way or...she would rather not think about if she refused.
"So what will happen when I do accept this offer?" Kokuyōsenki inquired.
"Having your blood drained daily with most of it being replaced, while some of it being set aside for other uses. But the benefits will make you more powerful, enhancing your body along with a possibly a few beneficial changes." All for One said. "You have already meet someone who has undergone a similar process, both you and Shiten."
Kokuyōsenki processed those words before her eyes widened.
It was the boy that he called Deku, how?
"The boy has no relation to me in any way if that is what you were thinking. The experiment is based on an experimental procedure he underwent through multiple times with a patient with a very specific blood type without factoring his Quirk. Making it difficult and usually near impossible to reproduce. We have a willing patient and the details to mainly reproduce it. But aside from that I will be providing you with a chance." All for One said.
"And in what way exactly will this chance benefit the both of us." Kokuyōsenki said, hearing the supervillain chuckle at the end of the monitor.
"Been a while since someone straight up for asked that. For me, so much potential resources to tap into and your allegiance. As for you, increasing your potential and standing in this world. I've read your file and know your previous experiences with the Villain Factory that you are good at what you do. As long as you are paid you will see the job through to the best of your means, but with everything and your Quirk that will only get you so far. Unlike Shiten you have not waste your potential, just never fully realized it. I am giving you the chance to willingly embrace it and more. The nation is about to change wether the people know it or not and no one will be ready. I am offering you a standing in how it will change. So what will you chose." All for One said, getting her to ponder her options.
Kurogiri watch for a few minutes as she processed her choices before nodding.
It was either this or a fate she would prefer not to think about.
"I'll take the job." Kokuyōsenki said, to which Kurogiri nodded as he his form began to billow.
"You made the right choice, Kurogiri bring her here." All for One said, before the monitor went off and Kokuyōsenki's vision filled with fog.
(Unknown location)
When the smoke cleared she saw that Kurogiri standing next to her.
And tried to keep her fear in check at seeing All for One grinning at her. The scarred wreck that was his face didn't help in that matter at all, nor the health equipment sticking out.
"Now in regards to your service, I believe that you were going to demand a down payment." All for One said, getting Kokuyōsenki to shake her head.
"I would be foolish to demand something like that from you." She said.
"Right choice, but consider this a willing payment and something to benefit the experiment as a whole and your health during it." All for One said as he stood up and stretched out his hand.
Wordlessly Kokuyōsenki approached All for One and then kneeled down, shaking a little as the supervillain placed his hand on her head.
She stared as ribbons of red energy flowed from his body, around his arm, and soon began to travel around her. Feeling something traveling through her body from his hand. Wincing as she felt her blood starting to boil and her eyes starting to sting. Her irises glowed blue briefly before that faded away alongside the energy as All for One removed his hand.
He stood back down as Kokuyōsenki struggled to stand up. It took a little bit, but she rightened herself back up.
"Kurogiri bring her to Tomura, he will fill you on the exact details of the experiment." All for One said, getting Kurogiri to nod before his form began to billow once again. "And Kokuyōsenki, don't make me regret this investment. You'll being wishing to die once I am done with you."
Kokuyōsenki just nodded as she found herself covered in fog once again.
(Tomura POV - ???)
"Damn it, why did Sensei want me to be the one to give our newest party member the lore dump. You're capable of doing this yourself." I said to the Kaiju, with it trying and failing to sit on the bar stool again.
At least Kurogiri's not here to grip about it scratching up his counter and stool.
The Kaiju just growled at me, munching on a roasted seagull wing. Before feeling a brief surge of pain in my hand that I had long since grown accustomed to today.
"Alright fine, but why do you only trust me to do so?" I asked, only for it to hiss as it finished up it's wing. "Fine be that way, not going to miss these headaches when your body is finally stable."
Honestly the headaches alone weren't that much of the issue, it was looking after this thing that was the problem. Never had to in my life, main reason I tended to avoid any pet simulator games and the Kaiju so far had been validating that point.
It tried three times today to break out of the bar to chase a seagull, a seagull!
Trying to catch that thing was a pointless fetch quest. The only thing I managed to accomplish that was boosting my agility and dexterity states!
Honestly the only good things about this Kaiju so far was that's appearance alone managed to intimidate some new recruites to the League on yet another recruitment mission.
The Kaiju just growled at that as another shot of pain filled my head.
"You didn't deny it, besides pinning that guy to the wall with a crystal and your Gravity Tornado." I said, only for it to growl once more. "It's a good spell name and you know it."
The Kaiju looked at me for a moment before letting out a huff while I grinned. I knew it!
The second was that whenever I even managed to play my video games, I could tell that the Kaiju was curious. It literally couldn't help but project it's curiosity.
Every.
Single.
Time.
Seriously it just got so engrossed in just whatever game I was playing that it would sometimes startle me with roaring in excitement or terror, projecting what is was feeling. Honestly I hated that part as it was hard enough to play games without accidentally Decaying my controller or gaming system.
Hate to spend quite a bit of yen for those systems meant for people whose hands were warped by their Quirk to play the comfortably without using my pinkies.
...Still at least I had someone else actually interested in gaming around here. Perhaps I can teach it how to actually play them when their body was stable.
I could practically feel the joy radiating off the Kaiju as I shook my head as I saw Warp Gate opened up. Who I believed to be Kokuyōsenki walked out of the smoke before Kurogiri reformed behind her.
Sighing at seeing the scratched up barstool and counter.
"So your the one in charge under All for One." She said sternly as she sat at a barstool. Before looking at the Kaiju. "What in God's name is that thing?"
"Part of the lore Sensei asked for me to give you." I said, getting her to sigh.
"You're game obsessed are you." She stated flatly as the Kaiju huffed and curled around my feet.
"Something like that, you got a problem with that?" I asked, my fingers twitching and the Kaiju projecting it's irritation.
To my surprise she just barely reacted to our threats.
"Not at all, just make sure to not use that with me while on a missions or encounters." Kokuyōsenki said, getting me to blink and the Kaiju to calm down.
"You catch on quick." I said.
"Have to in our line of work." She said, getting me to nod.
Fair enough, compared to the rest of League she seems high leveled. Possible a mini boss compared to most pro heros compared to the base level mooks that Sensei has me recruit. Not factoring the summons he was working on and the Kaiju.
"So what we're you an assassin?" I asked, getting Kokuyōsenki to stretch her arm forward. A saw blade like bone popping out and briefly revved.
"More of hired muscle." She said, getting me to grin.
"A fighter than." I said before turning to Kurogiri. "A mage."
The Kaiju growled and I felt a shot of pain.
"Make that two mages, and a thief." I said pointing at myself. "Quite a party we're forming."
"I will admit that does sound like good idea Young Master." Kurogiri said, sounding happy before turning to Kokuyōsenki. "Would you like anything to drink."
"Just something strong, I could use it after the day I had." Kokuyōsenki said, getting Kurogiri to nod as he went behind the counter. "Now than what is it you're going to tell me."
"Something that people will literally kill over if it ever got out, but first Kurogiri a shot of whiskey and Coke." I said, getting Kurogiri to nod.
"Really?" Kokuyōsenki said.
"Honestly I can appreciate a good whiskey, but I prefer to to have something a little sweet." I said, getting her to shrug as the Kaiju growled.
I felt a shot of pain in my head again and so did Kurogiri judging by his wince.
He really need to raise his mental resistance.
"I'm on it." Kurogiri said as he set down the glasses and opened a portal at the end of the bar. The Kaiju walking towards it.
"I would suggest that you ignore what happens next back there." I said before raising my glass. "Welcome to the League of Villains."
Immediately downing it before giving the first capable member of the League of Villains besides Kurogiri and the Kaiju. Ignoring the later killing and roasting a seagull the former summoned.
(3rd POV)
Kurogiri was polishing a glass, watching as the Young Master was explaining everything to Kokuyōsenki while both ignoring the Kaiju tearing into the roasted seagull. With her succeeding at it better than he did.
He looked at the Kaiju and back at the Young Master before smiling underneath all the fog obscuring his face.
Initially he was concerned about the Kaiju's influence on the Young Master. But after a day of observing the two of them, he began to think that it was for the betterment of the Young Master. The Young Master still was the same, but he started to acted as what he could describe as more coherent.
His interactions with others throughout the past 24 hours and not calling him an idiot while frustrated was certainly a sign.
Perhaps it would be best to observe how this will develop, only interfering if this could be a danger or detriment to the Young Master.
Yet from what Kurogiri was seeing, he hoped that if didn't have to come to that.
(???)
"Are you certain about this Dr. Shiga." All for One inquired, having brought him in once Kurogiri left.
Using one of his aliases as he was examining Shiten's near dead body, having confused All for One that he managed to survive with his neck bent like that and still consious. Albeit he was sure to perish from the mortal coil in a manner of hour according to the doctor while in a near vegetive state, they were not taking any chances.
As a curtesy for his friend, he was addressing him by one of his aliases. Although All for One did wonder why he chose a fist name that referenced Unit 731. Even he was disturbed by what they did, too brutal for even his tastes.
"Certainly with what I have observed of the Kaiju's blood, it indeed has what Shigaraki conveyed as the Shiragami compound in it's cell. However it is impossible for me to truly replicate it with how damaged the cellular structure is. It will take a lot more blood than what he described to even get the desired results. Even if we wish to make use of it and Kokuyōsenki's look for our new project." Garaki said, getting All for One to nod.
"Than I was right on giving her Blood Bank." All for One said, getting Garaki to nod.
"Without it she would have died by the time the first transfusion had any affect. But by my calculations snd factoring Blood Bank she will be heavily exhausted afterwards yet be replenished with blood by the next day. Half of the blood will go to the Kaiju while the other half siphoned from both will be used for our projects." Garaki said, getting All for One to grin.
"This is truly good news doctor. Any word on how this will affect project Shin." All for One said.
"Unclear at the moment, too soon to tell. And uncertain of how to proceed without testing our new project will do until we have an alive subject or two." Garaki said as he brought out a scalpel. "On another note are you sure it was wise to get Kokuyōsenki that other Quirk?"
"Certainly, with what happened it was just another junk Quirk." All for One said with a frown and felt his head aching briefly. "I mainly used that for torture, but I am certain she will find a better and creative use for it."
That and see if her body could handle could handle the strain. She was going to become the project's blood bag, human or Nomu.
"That I am certain she will." Garaki said as he hovered the scalpel under Shiten's eye.
Before cutting into the metal plate under it.
"It's such a shame to waste this specimen on the project. With his ferocity and how he is even still alive, his body would have created an excellent High-End Nomu." Garaki said, a twinge of regret in his voice. Before removing the metal plate and cleaning the wound.
A pointless gesture, but he would prefer for his specimens to not be accidentally killed mid process by a stray piercing again.
"The opportunity present itself where you would not be involved in anyway with the disappearance of a test subject. I agree on your settlement on the waste of potential, but he will make a excellent baseline on what we will need to improve on. If he doesn't prove to be a viable specimen, keep him alive until we can create a successful attempt. Than feel free to do whatever." All for One said.
He could careless what happened to Shiten, only that they would get results. While he was tempted to take his Quirk, it's drawbacks could provide fruitless against those with fire or thermal based Quirks.
"And if he does provide to be alive?" Garaki questioned.
"Than I trust you know what to do when the time comes." All for One said, getting the doctor to nod while internally sighing.
Truly a waste of a specimen.
Still the results would provide beneficial in the long term.
Helping to identify when a specimen needed to be abandoned and disposed off when needed. With luck for any other traits to look for the mutation the Kaiju described through experimentation. Making it easier to identify potential subjects through just a little blood work.
As it was right now, things would be less suspicious if patients from his multiple facilities disappeared all with a -O blood type than Quirkless. They had one potential specimen that would fit perfectly for this experiment, but All for One refused to potentially lose such a resource we're he currently positioned.
Either way this could very well be the final step to completing Project Shin. The Villain Factory showed just how effective it could potentially be and closed the gap, but this project could very well be the missing link.
He spent nearly a third of his life on making All for One's pet project a reality, so a little more time to perfect this project could be what they needed.
(Izuku POV - Next Morning)
Yesterday we managed to test a few different ideas about what else Erika's body could do. Most didn't work, but some like creating roots did work before we had to go back inside for Erika for them to run some more tests on her. And drawing some more blood from me to also run tests on.
As for Erika what asked for, Director Serizawa granted it. But as for Erika herself...
I-I was trying to ignore her pressing against me in the back of mom's car. Currently fast asleep.
Apparently from what I was told she immediately crashed that night after we left, and barely was awake this morning when we came to get her. As soon as the car started up again, Erika had passed out once again.
The centuries of insomnia seemed to finally hit her. According to Dr. Mifune it would be easy enough to wake her up, but she might be fast asleep a lot for the near future.
A-And what she was wearing wasn't helping at all.
A low cut red sweater that exposed her shoulders and quite a bit of her skin! Alongside a jacket of the same color and dark green circular skirt. Apparently these were clothes that Midnight had loaned to her, so why was I surprised.
Especially about the sweater!
Quickly shaking my head of those thoughts to notice the car coming to a stop as we arrived at our destination.
Dagobah Municipal Park.
"E-Erika, it's time to wake up." I said, gentility shaking her shoulder.
She just grumbled as she shifted towards the other side of the car. I unbuckled me seatbelt as mom parked and she grumbled out some more.
"Wha.." Erika yawn out, a vine emerging from her back to rub her eyes.
"We are here." Mom said as we got out of the car except for Erika. She just yawned before bursting into spores, slipping through the doors, and reforming on the railing trying to wake up. "Erika are you alright?"
"Just need another minute." Erika yawned out, leaning on the railing as aa few vines emerged from her back. Lying them down in the sunlight.
Might be for the best to leave her be for a minute or two
Looking ahead of me I saw the trash pile that I had amassed just two days ago. I still find it hard to believe that after months of work I finally managed to clean up the beach...but technically I still was not done yet.
Just needed to get rid of the trash pile than I will be done.
"My thoughts exactly Young Midoriya." All Might said, breaking me from my thoughts. "And no you didn't mutter this time. I just guessed what you were thinking."
Well that was a relief
"We'll come back later to start clearing it out later today Young Midoriya. Might take a while." All Might said, getting me to nod.
"Given the amount of debris we usually cleared by truckload per day, might take a few days." I said looking at the trash pile.
"Knowing you, probably before the week is halfway through. It would make for some great conditioning for the Enterance Exam." All Might said with a grin to which I nodded.
"Now, now enough of that you two. That can wait for later." Mom said, getting out attention. Before smiling and pointing at Erika as she struggled to get up. "Besides Izuku, you go on ahead. We'll catch up in a minute."
"Okay mom." I said with a nod while All Might grinned as I began to walk over to Erika.
As I approached her, Erika's vines began to rise up and snap at the air. As Erika stood up, her vines beginning to retract into her back except for one that brushed itself against my arm before joining the others.
"Are you ready Erika?" I asked her.
"I am." She said with a smile. "Now where did say I had breached here again?"
"Right down here in the middle." I said, pointing down at the beach. Erika just nodded as she walked towards the steps, her expression quickly changing to a little stoic as I began to follow her.
She had wanted to see exact place where she had made land when she got back to Earth. The place where we had meet and the last place she was at her full sized as a Kaiju. She had wanted to see it again that she had regained a human form.
To which I guess was just another matter of confirmation to her.
That she had finally regained her humanity after so long.
(3rd POV)
"So when are we going to tell him." Inko said worriedly as she watched Izuku follow after Erika onto the beach.
She knew at this place was something important to the two of them, so both her Toshinori figured that maybe to give them a few minutes alone for whatever Erika had planned. While she had many hopes on what it could be, the news she received earlier had mitigated that.
"This afternoon, I'll tell him during training. Hopefully Naomasa should be able to find some more answers to their disappearance. But if they try to come after Young Midoriya again, they will regret it." All Might said with a frown.
Both Kokuyōsenki and Shiten disappeared in the middle of the night, in two different facilities and just minutes after the other. All footage in Kokuyōsenki's disappearance was a few seconds erased from film. While in Shiten's case it was obscured by some kind of shadow before he was found missing.
What Naomasa could give him so far was that it was suspected that Kokuyōsenki at least had inside help in her escape, but no definite suspects and was being kept under wraps from most of the department until more information were found.
Much to the annoyance apogee the both of them.
Still it seemed that someone or some group were interested in the two of them and spirited them away to who knows where.
Something about this situation brought a feeling of unease from All Might, one he hadn't felt since Naomasa was caught up in the Naruhata Lockdown nearly two years ago for his case against the Villain Factory.
Given that Kokuyōsenki was involved with them in the past and the remaining dealers and higher ups apprehended after their leader immolated himself, perhaps some members like her also escaped and gone dormant?
Perhaps he should ask his friend more details on the case. Given the monstrosities they produced, experimenting on and mutating civilians, and their two leaders were monstrous in nature themselves, this could very well be a remnant of All for One's empire attempting to raise it's head once again.
It was a possibility, but he needed more information.
"It seems like Izuku is starting to rub off on you." Inko said, breaking Toshinori from his thoughts and coughing up some blood. Wiping it away some blood. "You we're on the verge of muttering, but I couldn't decipher anything,"
At that All Might just sighed.
"Young Midoriya's muttering are infectious it seems. I was just lost in thoughts for a moment." Toshinori said, getting Inko to nod. "Just an idea on what may have happened, but without Naomasa I can't confirm anything."
Inko nodded at that before sighing.
"Well hopefully we can find out what happened." She sighed out while looking down.
Toshinori frowned at seeing her like this, before grinning as he remembered something.
Before pulling out his phone and flipping to an earlier text he received this morning from Nezu.
"Inko you might want to take a look at this." He said, hopping to improve her mood.
"What is it?" She asked he showed her this phone.
"What I believe Erika wanted to tell Young Midoriya herself." Toshinori said, smiling as he saw her eyes widening, tears forming, and a wide smile on her face.
Yup it seemed like that would do it.
(Izuku POV)
I stood to the side as Erika inspect the spot where she breached nearly two months ago. Staying silent as she looked between the ocean and the beach multiple times.
Erika had been like this for about a minute now before letting out a small growl that I could have been a chuckle before she sat down in the sand.
"It's a lot cleaner than I remembered, and a lot bigger too." Erika said looking about towards the ocean, a vine extending from her back patting at a patch of sand.
Getting her message I walked towards her and sat down right next to her.
"I was still cleaning the beach back then, I only finished two days ago. And you were a lot bigger back then." I said, before my face went aflame. "W-Wait-"
"Don't worry Izuku, honestly I don't mind." Erika said with a smile before frowning. "It all feels surreal, I was stuck in that monstrous body for centuries and I didn't even know it. Or I could even assume a smaller form."
"Cause you were trapped within your own body?" I asked as she brought her knees to her body. "That is what we believed given what happened during your second battle with Gojira."
"I was, but it didn't feel like it. I only felt trapped since I died. One moment I felt searing heat and being flung backwards, the next crashing into the terrarium. I could only lie there for what felt like an eternity before nothing. And then for what felt like forever I couldn't do anything. Only brief flashes of feeling the wind, rain, and sunlight on me. Occasionally hearing the sounds of people talking to me including father, and not being to talk back. After that, well the rest is history." Erika said, getting me to shudder.
"Y-You sound really calm about that though Erika." I said while trying to regain my composure. "I-I can't even imagine what it must have been like for you."
And I meant it. To die and then be stuck in some sort of limbo like Erika described was a horrific thought. And she was stuck like that for over five years...
"I suggest you don't Izuku, I've tried for centuries to forgot them. Better not to let them plague you like they did me. Still is hard to believe it was only just five years." Erika said while shaking her head. "And I can guess you already figured out how I'm so calm about this."
"You had time, nothing but time and unable to sleep. You must have thought about it while drifting through space. With your own soul trapped within your body for all that time." I said, taking Erika's advice on not thinking what it was like.
To which Erika nodded as she her vine began to trace circles in the sand.
"I lost the concept of time after that overgrown lizard roasted me alive." Erika growled out as her fangs and claws drew out before smirking. "Got him back for it though."
"That you did, you were the first Kaiju to defeat Gojira in years. Although the anti-nuclear bacteria created by your father played a part in defeating him. And before you asked he destroyed it too after you left Earth." I said, getting Erika to smile.
"I still consider it a victory. Also good, something like that probably wouldn't have benefitted in the hands of humans like the Oxygen Destroyer did." Erika said, not noticing myself wincing hopefully.
Unfortunately we didn't learn that lesson until after Destoroyah and nearly brought about an apocalypse...Erika will learn about that soon enough.
"Speaking of which how long was I in orbit between my fights with Gojira, it felt like only an hour or two to me?" Erika asked before she began to retract her fangs and claws.
"About two days, and after that no one saw you again until now." I said, getting Erika to frown. "You left Earth of your own will didn't you?"
"I couldn't trust myself. While changing and making sure Gojira suffered I felt like I was losing myself. When I thought it was dying, I left Earth. That was the last time I was in complete control for an eternity. Izuku I couldn't handle the idea of killing anyone, including my father. Despite what he did to me!" Erika roared out, her fangs and claws drawing out before her vine began to thrash about.
"Erika please." I said, but she seemed to ignore me while letting out a low growling.
Taking a deep breath I felt my spine twitch before feeling One for All course through my body.
P-Please let this work.
I shot forward and grabbed ahold of her vine, getting Erika to growl at me before her eyes widened before it began to retract and I canceled the flow of One for All, wincing a little. I really need to work on using 2% this week.
"Izuku-" "I-It's okay Erika you didn't hurt me, I just went a little overboard on One for All." I said, giving Erika a reassuring smile. "Just consider this something to bring up with Hound Dog. His Quirk also affects his mood and can devolve into growling when angered enough. He could help you if you get like this again."
Erika stared at me for a few moments, before looking away so I didn't see her face.
With her claws and fangs retracting I considered that it worked, before her vine wrapped around and pulled me into an embrace.
"I'll consider it, I doubt there are many things that could get me this angry. But I would prefer not to do so again." Erika said, tightening her grip on me.
W-While I tried my best to ignore her pressing against me.
"T-Then why did you grab me like this?" I asked with my face aflame.
"This calms me down. Besides it's not like you don't enjoy this too." Erika said with a smile as she loosened her grip on me.
I-I couldn't dignify a response to that...
We sat like this for about a minute before Erika took a deep breath, finally having calmed down from her outburst.
"For an eternity afterwards I just existed as a part of the body, influencing and experiencing what it felt. Letting my instincts guide me as I drift through space, never having full control. And I don't know when exactly but I started to regain control. All I know that it was after that Ghidorah tried to kill me. I stayed on my favorite hunting grounds for a while, before I decided to come back." Erika said with a smile.
"And you regained it on your way back." I said, getting her to nod. "You were planning on coming back to Earth, no matter what had happened to it."
Figuring that it would be a bad idea to talk about the Kaiju at this point. As much as I want to ask about it, it would be a bad idea to push Erika at this point.
"Of course, I wanted to see what happened. I expected many things to have happened. Humanity becoming a space faring civilization, them being extinct and the world becoming wild, Kaiju overwhelming the world, all life being extinguished, and so much more. Instead I find a world straight out of manga or an American comic. With life having not changed all that much centuries later and Kaiju being practically extinct." Erika said, getting me to shake my head.
"Besides the Age of Kaiju, there had been quite a few upheavals of society in the Age of Quirks." I said, getting her to shake her head.
"So things have only been marginally better than my era, at least tell me there hasn't been any wars lately." Erika sighed out.
"Not for quite a while." I said honestly.
"That is good to hear, doubt that still changed the nature of politics." Erika said while shaking her head. Tracing circles in the sand with her vine before smiling. "At least that loudmouth has a lot of knowledge of my era...and quite the collection."
"You mean President Mic, well he does have a deep appreciation for Japanese media during the Age of Kaiju. I just don't know how big it is." I said.
"Neither do I, but he did say he knows someone who could get him the complete collection of Maison Ikkoku." Erika said, before her face flushed. "Forget I said anything."
"Don't think I have heard of that one before." I said, tilting my head as Erika looked at me in surprise, shaking her head.
"Let's just say that it was a series that I liked and the only thing from farther's Big Comic Spirits he would have shipped to Saradia that I actually read. That was completed and got an anime after I had died. Plenty to catch up on before I give the later a chance." Erika's said with a smile.
To which I matched on my own, and making a note to thank President Mix for doing this for Erika. She seemed to enjoyed it.
"Maybe I could check it out with you someday." I asked, surprising her for a bit. "With how you seem to enjoy it, perhaps I should give it a chance."
"I would like that, just let me finish them first. I've been waiting centuries for this." Erika said, getting me to nod.
We sat there for another minute or two, not saying anything at all. For my part I just didn't know what to say next.
While with Erika, I didn't know what she was thinking at the moment before she sighed.
"It feels nice to finally talk with someone about this, especially you Izuku. I never had much of an opportunity to talk with anyone about this." Erika said, her grip loosening up on me.
"I think that I can imagine. A-And if you just wish to talk about anything just let me know." I said, feeli a little flustered
"Believe me I have plenty more to share Izuku, but it can wait. I do need to focus on one thing Izuku, getting used to this world of Quirks. I'm still getting used to this form, but I have been out of history for quite a long time." Erika said as she separated herself from me.
"And I promised that I would do what I can to help you in that regard Erika." I said honestly, getting Erika to smile.
"Then it would make it thing so much easier since I accepted Nezu's offer." Erika said, confusing me.
"What did he offer you exactly?" I asked, having been wondering what he had wanted to talk about with her yesterday.
"That I will be enrolled into U.A. through recommendations." Erika said with a smile.
...Eh.
Eh!
"N-Nezu offered you to get in through recommendations!" I shouted in shock. I didn't expect that she would have chosen that.
"He managed to convince the board to allow for two extra spots into U.A.'s hero course this year through recommendations. Saying it being a trial to see it be beneficial to the hero course as a whole. That and he said it was to keep me from accidentally injuring someone during the regular exams." Erika admitted without any shame.
Honestly I could see her possibly doing such a thing without meaning to do it. A good move on Nezu's part.
Still though I had to wonder why?
"N-Not that I am not happy with this, but are you sure about this Erika?" I asked, getting her to nod.
"I'm centuries out of touch with the world and even then my experience and degree wouldn't make much of a difference according to Mifune. My contributions to genetic history have already been improved on and is currently being used to benefit and help others. It will take a few years for me to get back to that level." Erika said as I just nodded at that.
While her father was known as the greatest geneticist in history, Erika had left her own contribution in history besides Biollante. She successfully spliced wheat and flower cells with traits from cacti cells to allow them to survive in desert climate.
Which with years of new tempering from geneticists the method had more or less been perfect and after centuries several nations located in the Sahara Desert and Saudi Arabian peninsula had become major grain exporters. The biggest among them being Saradia.
Granted the nation had been halved in size a few years after her death and still had business in oil exportation, but it is now more farmland than desert after centuries. Just like Erika and Dr. Shiragami had hoped to be.
"Then what about you working with the Dr. Mifune and Dr. Tōga on the Shiragami compound." I asked, to which Erika just smiled.
"Izuku, this body cell structure was mainly compared to a heavily mutated rose at the time. I have been working on splicing and modifying rose cells since I was 17. And I mainly had already worked on splicing them with Gojira cells to make them live longer." Erika said before wincing. "The only good thing about that bombing was preventing me from accidentally creating another Kaiju earlier than what happened to me."
I winced at that.
Y-Yeah I can agree on her on that.
"That and I wanted to stay close to you Izuku." Erika said with a smile.
...
W-What?!
"W-What?!" I exclaimed.
S-She wanted to stay close to me. W-Why would she-
I cut those thoughts off immediately as I knew why.
"A-Are you sure about this Erika? You could chose to do anything now." I said to her.
This was Erika's second chance at life. I would gladly support her is she wanted to become a hero if she wished. But I wanted her to be sure of that for himself.
"More than anything in a long time Izuku. Even before I worked with my father with the intention to help others, and centuries later I am happy to at least see that my work has helped others. I still do, but I want to make sure no one has to go through what I went through...figuratively at least." Erika said, getting me to nod.
"I think that I can understand. Seeing All Might saving people as a kid, I wanted to become a hero like him to save people and to reassure them with a smile that thing will be okay. Even now I know that I can't save everyone or if they want to be saved." I said, looking down at the Kaiju's crystal around my neck. Sighing as Erika briefly growled at it before shaking my head. "I want to try to save as many people as I can, to reassure them that they will be alright with a smile. To save not only their lives, but also their hearts. I still have a while to go and to find my own way to become a true hero."
I looked at Erika and smiled at her.
"Is that the kind of hero you wish to become Erika?" I asked her.
Erika face turned as red as the ends of her hair before smiling.
"You're already a true hero to me Izuku. You gave me hope for the first time in an eternity. I want to do the same thing, but I doubt I can do that with a smile. So I'll have to find my own way to do so." Erika said before she said something that surprised me.
"Izuku do you think that I can become a hero like you?"
S-She was asking me if she could become a hero like me!
W-Why was she asking me this? At this point we both know that she could...I think I get it.
I think I can finally get what All Might might have been thinking of that day after the Slime Villain. At least just a little. And I knew what Erika needed to hear.
"Erika, you too can become a hero. And I'll help you find your way to become one." I said, getting Erika to wrap me in her vine and hugged me. To which I struggled with for a bit before hugging her back.
"Thank you." Was all she said, while I just nodded before tears welled up in my eyes.
She can become a great hero. We both knew that. Yet like myself all those months ago with All Might, sometimes you needed to hear it from someone you hold dear and honestly means it.
Someone who believes in you like you believe in them.
"Young Midoriya, will you never stop shattering my expectations!" I heard All Might said, breaking me out of my thoughts.
Shakily looking to see him grinning in his heroic form and and mom crying tears of happiness as she held her phone out.
H-How long have they been here?!
"How long have you two been here?" Erika asked as she let me go, but kept her vine draped on my shoulders.
"Since we heard your growling and Izuku calming you down. I didn't want to interrupt you two and I am glad that I didn't." Mom said with a smile while I wondered just how much they heard.
"And I am glad to have heard that." All Might said, shifting into his true form while blood leaked from his mouth. "You keep proving to me and everyone else who believes in you that you can become a hero right. And becoming an inspiration for others to become one as well."
He looked at us both with a grin.
"You both are capable of becoming heros, but it is still a long road ahead. Still I believe that the two of you will show the world soon enough as well." All Might said, getting me to smile while Erika just grunted.
Although for a moment I briefly saw her smile at me before returning to an even expression.
Still All Might was right, the entrance exams were a week away. And while I was unfamiliar with the process of recommendation students, if there was a recommendation exam I know that both myself and Erika will show that we have what it takes.
Well I hope so anyway...
I was broken from my thoughts when I felt Erika's vine began to nuzzle my cheek before setting back down.
"It will be fine Izuku." Erika said with a smile, to which I just nodded while looking away.
Not sure if I had just muttered that out or Erika could just tell what I was thinking.
"It was the later Izuku." Mom said as I looked away in embarrassment. "Now than I feel like we have been here long enough. It should be getting close to lunch soon. I was thinking katsudon, any objections?"
"None from me." I said before feeling me shirt getting wet.
The source was Erika's vine, the Venus flytrap like end drooling sap onto my shirt before quickly retracting into her back. With Erika refusing to look at my face while letting out a soft growling.
Safe to say there was none from Erika as well.
"Though let's let Young Midoriya change shirts first." All Might said, getting mom to nod as they both began to walk back up the beach.
I began to follow before stopping as I thought I felt something that made my spines bristle briefly. I turned to notice Erika looking back out the ocean for a minute. Before shaking her head and walked towards me.
"Did you hear that?" Erika asked me.
"Hear what?" I asked, getting Erika to shake her head.
"Probably nothing." Erika said with a shrug. Before smiling as a vine emerging from her back and wrapped along my stomach. "Come on let's go Izuku, I haven't had anything that wasn't raw meat in forever."
"E-Erika wait!" I protest, but it fell on deaf ears as she dragged me on behind her.
Briefly I looked towards the ocean to wonder what happened, before shaking my head. Whatever it was maybe I could ask Erika for more details about it after lunch.
I took one last look back at the beach. This was the place I had first meet Erika, been attacked the Kaiju, and had received One for All here. Over these past few month Dagobah Municipal Park became a very important place to me. With today just another, but yet important event added to them.
The day Erika and I affirmed our wish to become heros and grew closer together.

(Chapter 15 End)
Hey guys Mukuro7 here and I hoped that you enjoyed this chapter, because it is single handedly the longest thing I have written in my life. Really hoping that I can make the next chapter shorter.
Whole lot happening here in this chapter, with Izuku managing to handle to Kokuyōsenki and Shiten on Trigger for a good while before Agent Aoki and Kamui Woods joined in. Finally finishing off Shiten after Erika had arrived. Even managing to get some praise and an apology from the hero for the Slime Villain incident. With Kamui Woods giving Izuku some advice and even planning on trying out some of the ideas he wrote in his notebook. A sentiment that Erika shares.
From here Izuku is probably going to gained more notoriety among the heros. Well considering the Sludge Villain he is about to get some more attention. And as next chapter shows, not the good kind.
Also I hoped that you all enjoyed the scene with Izuku, Inko, and All Might. It was the most difficult part of this chapter for me to write. It took me multiple rewrites and two weeks alone just to get it perfect. Might not be the best, but I hope you all enjoy it all the same.
Monarch is on the verge of packing up and the Entrance Exams have been moved back to their proper date as the organization begins packing up. Aoki stays behind to head up observation of Erika and Izuku. The former despite her human form and reduced capabilities is still a Kaiju. For Izuku, the changes his body is undergoing are not quite done yet. He still has one more major change down the line and something else that I hinted out here.
Going over the changes for Erika she is mostly human in appearance, but given the nature of her second body and physiology she is still a bit of an outlier even in a world of Quirks. Along with giving a bit of information about a few things she encountered in space...and making Monarch and Izuku panic internally with those revelations.
She is not looking forward for anymore time in their facility, but is baring with it right now until she can finally leave to the Midoriya family apartment while Monarch organizes with Nezu on who might be best for this new outpost.
Characters will be from previous Godzilla media, so I'll take any suggestions.
On the villains side All for One has moved forward with his new project. Dealing with Shiten for the prototype result and using Kokuyōsenki's genetic profile for both that and stabilizing the Kaiju. Been hinting at that since chapter 12.
And once again brilliant play from the centuries old schemer. Putting in Kokuyōsenki in a no win position. If she refused, she gets turned into a living blood bag for the Kaiju without her Quirk. If she does he gives her two Quirks, another powerful enforcer, and another recruit to look after his charge. If she couldn't handle the strain, he still gets a Nomu blood bag and gets rid of a what he could consider a useless Quirk after All Might smashed his face in. Still will not make it a hinderance.
For the fate of Kokuyōsenki and Shiten...let's just say they are based on two Kaiju from the same franchise along with the future results of the project. Shiten's ruthless pursuit of Izuku no matter what and Kokuyōsenki's Quirk and what one of her new Quirks can do are a hint to which. Cookie to the first person who figures it out.
As for her second Quirk Blood Bag, got the idea of the Quirk for one with the same name from the story One for All and Eight for the Ninth by griffinguy24 on AO3.
As a little side note I also posted this story on there.
But anyway Blood Bag's functionality works the same as in that story. Blood Bag allows the user to generate more blood and quickly replenish any lost blood. Basically you would die if you lost two litters of blood, but with this Quirk it would take over eight times that to die from blood loss. One of the reasons Quirks here All for One here used survive his fight, and knowing him already has a back up version of the Quirk.
Also on the same side they already have another donor, but do not use them. You all know who it is and even I was surprised just how much more of a mirror they are to Izuku. Also Shigaraki has seemed to be getting along with the Kaiju, and Kurogiri noticing the effect it is having on him.
Finally to clarify something, PROJECT SHIN IS NOT SHIN GODZILLA!
...Sorry just tired of saying that. But to clarify it is based off it, and the final results if completed will make a completed High-End pale in comparison. Like placing your common alley thug against a Predator...it will not be pretty to say the least.
It has been worked on nearly forty years...let's see if he can actually complete it.
Now onto the main source you have all been waiting for, Erica herself.
Being returned to a human form had mellowed her out somewhat, brining her back closer personality wise to when she was human. But she is still influenced by her instincts and years alone in space have not been kind to her. But she is for a better term more of herself around Izuku, Inko, and a few others. The list continuing to grow in the future.
Despite her previous knowledge and impact she held on the world, she acknowledges that she is very much out of touch with everything and still have a lot to learn. Given her background she gets along excellently with Izuku intellect wise as by their little game of guessing Quirks and testing new potential aspects of her physiology. And opening up about what she had experienced before regaining control of her body among a few things.
And that Nezu had her enrolled into U.A. as a recommendation student, raising the bar to six in total for this year. Her work as a human has been improved upon and completed what she and her father had intended to do. Plus her time away from Earth means that even within her field she is behind.
But looking back at her human body and even in her Rose form Erika was a kind soul. She only attacked and killed two people in her Rose form and they were terrorists that had broken into her father's home/lab, didn't do anything at a gigantic fight, and only fought defensively against Godzilla. Her further mutation and years in space had only made her more aggressive and brutal, but being around Izuku has slowly brought out her kinder side.
She wishes to become a hero for others like Izuku was for her, admittedly in her own way like Izuku is figuring out for himself as well.
And admittedly she could past off her appearance as a Kaiju aspect Quirk, and just putting out there she is tall. Izuku post transfusions has gone from 166 cm to 175cm. Erika being a head taller would put her up there with Shoji and Kamakiri in height.
As for the empty space for the other recommendation student, taking an idea Horikoshi had originally had in draft for the series originally for them. Also using a similar idea for two other characters for non Kaiju/Monarch ideas for the series.
That and dipping in a little to Vigilantes, at least the aftermath. Considering what I can gather the events of the Naruhata Lockdown ended
Anyway before we move to the snippet about the next chapter there is a few things I would like to announce.
First is for the harem, still open to suggestions until the end of the next arc. So you have three chapters to make one if you don't already have a suggestion.
Secondly is more of an announcement. Nothing much, but after much deliberation...the Heisei era of Kaiju series was perhaps the best in terms of story. I mean look at what they had. The Mothea Rebirth trilogy might not be the best in over all story, but is very much enjoyable. The Gamera trilogy however is an quite the phenomenon, just wish they would include have the manga that goes along with it in English. Also as a technicality Gamera the Brave as well. Finally there is the biggest, the Heisei Godzilla films. Personally they are all some of my favorite in the series and the way they are interconnect in a cohesive story to me at least is just quite the watch.
So I am expanding the list of Kaiju that will show up later on, take your bets people. Already have quite a few hints this chapter...Japan is in for one rough life in this story for the most part later on,
Finally just a thanks for Imacupheadfan for the fan art of Izuku and Erika down below.
First piece of fan art for any story I made. Deeply appreciate it all the same. If anyone else feels like making fan art of this story go ahead and if you do I'll post it at the end of the next chapter and credit you then.
Anyway let's move on. I believe I wasted enough of your time as it is.
The next chapter will be snippets of the next six days till the U.A. Entrance Exam and ends with Izuku departing for them. Mainly more bonding with Izuku and Erika, the former trying to prepare for the exam, and meeting one or two of his future classmates/schoolmates early. So I hope you all enjoy it when it comes out.
And just a little question, anyone know anymore about the recommendation exams compared to what we saw with Yoarashi's flashback will be much appreciated.
So that will be all for now.
So until next time, ciao!
