Ch12: Erika's Hero
(Izuku POV -2 Days Ago -U.A. Examination Grounds)
"That is enough for today Young Midoriya." All Might, getting me to nod shakily as I stepped back from downed one pointers, breathing out a sigh of relief.
I had gotten a lot better at disabling the modified one pointers at the same time, but it still takes some time to take them down.
At least is was not training with Agent Dupre...
Especially after what happened with Shiten she increased the difficulty which was more so then I had already. Leaving me groaning out in the floor times then I could count while barely landing a hit on her...
Best not to think about it for now, especially with what was going to happen soon.
"So is everyone there already?" I asked All Might, getting him to shake his head.
"Agent Gordon is on his way there. But let's not keep them waiting in case they do arrive to the lab before we do." All Might said as he began to walk towards Monarch's temporary headquarters.
"So do you have any idea of the results?" I asked, getting All Might to shake his head with a sigh.
"Nothing except there are a few promising matches for a donor but that was two days ago. Results might have changed drastically since then, but I believe they have finalized everything." All Might said with a sigh. "Just be prepared Young Midoriya, there might not be any good news from this result."
At his words I could only sigh at that and shake my head.
"I know, the thought of that has been running through my head for the past few days. But whatever the results Monarch will have, it should help find the right conditions for a potential donor for Erika. Even if we are running out of time, we are so close now. I am prepared for what might happens, but I am not giving up on her yet!" I said, getting All Might to smile.
"Of course you are. You have not given up in the face of adversity when it came to saving Erika even against the Kaiju within. We are close at hand, but do not let up your guard Young Midoriya until we know for sure that Erika is truly has a chance of regaining a human form. For both her and your own sakes." All Might said, getting me to nod.
"I will." I said to him and I meant it.
There was only a few weeks left until Erika's DNA is beyond hope for curing and the Kaiju fully takes her over. Sooner if it takes over her again, which thankfully hasn't happened but there was a possibility of it's reemergence.
Something I dread happening for quit a while now.
So it was paramount to find a donor as soon as possible and after about eight days of waiting we were about to get results.
Erika, Dr. Tōga, and Dr. Mifune had been working on monitoring thousands of blood samples in order to find the most compatible qualities in a donor. Looking over each blood sample and how it is effective with Erika's blood and the Shiragami compound. Keeping an eye out for cellular degeneration and other harmful effects to the donor and calcification and cellular breakdown for Erika' cells.
All I know of the results was of what Dr. Tōga told me of a quarter of the samples being to degraded and calcified after two days with most of them being at least fourth generation quirk users and the discovery of a genetic mutation. Nothing else since then until today.
Earlier Dr. Mifune said they were going to present their results in a few hours after they had everything set up.
It should be done by now and with All Might calling training early I suppose it is time.
Honestly I am nervous on the results and what this could lead to.
We could either get promising results and and the chance of potential donors, to nothing but more dead ends and everything in between.
Yet I still had hope that we can find a way to return Erika to a human form.
We were so close to finding the right answer,
I just hope that these 8 days of waiting can provide the answers.
(Monarch Temporary Headquarters - 8 minutes later)
"Come on just a little more." Agent Aoki said as he pried a crowbar into the vines wrapped around me. Agent Gordon trying to pull them off as well.
"E-Erika please, can you please release me. We can't continue until you release me." I said while struggling to breathe as she let out a small roar before her vines relaxed enough for me to slip through as the two agents pulled them away. "Thank you."
"Now Dr. Shiragami I would suggest that you wait until after we show them the results." Yujiro said, getting Erika to let out a roar and for myself to move closer to Agent Aoki who had his crowbar at the ready.
Agent Gordon had arrived about a minute after us...and a second later Erika had me wrapped up in her vines. Taking about two minutes to pry me lose I think.
Currently we were all in a room off of the main lab waiting to hear from Yujiro and Mifune before Erika grabbed me in her vines.
"With that out of the way shall we get started before Erika starts anything else." Nezu said as he moved behind All Might.
"Dr. Tōga, Dr. Mifune what is the results of this study you have conducted." Serizawa said, getting the doctors to nod.
"With our resources and help from U.A. we were able to procure over blood samples from over 4,300 people for this procedure. From those working to Monarch, heroes, villains, and citizens residing in around Musutafu. Taking in account quirk and quirkless blood samples." Yujiro said proudly.
"Along with an exuberant amount of blood produced by Dr. Shiragami for the experiment." Mifune said with a shudder, getting Erika to let out a roar in return.
Considering her regenerative capabilities and the way she had been ripping herself apart her blood would have been the easiest resource to acquire. Although I do not want to think about how she got all of that blood in a single day for this.
"The first of the samples to go bad where about two days in when a quarter of samples become too degraded for use. All the samples were from those whose Quirk Factors passed through at least three generations from their family. Leaving us 3225 samples left." Yujiro said.
"From there samples continued to degrade in droves, most of them having a similar pattern to first batch in the Quirk factor." Dr. Mifune said.
"Meaning that those with a third generation Quirk factor and more are exempt from possible donors for Erika." Graham stated, getting Yujiro to nod at her words.
"You would be right but there were some exceptions and well cover that later. But from more observations it seemed first and second generation Quirk users suffered a slower degeneration but a majority of them were unusable at the end. Some degrading faster than others us to the donor's health or any preexisting conditions, with some having the opposite effect. Honestly we are still trying to narrow them down but at the end of eight days only 806 samples were in any salvageable condition." The hematologist sighed out.
"And of those samples only 312 could pass at least a 50% chance survivability rate for both the donor and due to results we have seen so far." Mifune said.
"Meaning that out of all the samples we could amass only about 7.26% were at the bare minimum possible donors for Erika." Nezu said.
"Honestly that is better results than I would have thought. I figured there would be some success but not this much." Agent Gordon said.
So did I. Still 312 possible donors out of over 4300 people. Not sure the effective the results would be for the whole population as I am pretty sure the results are based on any samples they could have gotten at a short time. But it does reveal possibly enough results along with a base medium to identify the best qualifications for a potential donor with the best chance of survival. And considering Yujiro hasn't mentioned this genetic mutation they discovered it might be a one such factor.
"You got that right Midoriya!" Yujiro said, snapping me out of my thoughts as I noticed everyone in the room staring at me.
"I-I was muttering again, wasn't I?" I sighed out.
"That you were, I was about to tell you to knock it off again." Agent Dupre said with a sigh.
"Besides Young Midoriya's muttering, he has a point this mutation you discovered is a key factor isn't it Dr. Tōga?" All Might asked, getting the blond man to nod eagerly.
"Exactly now Dr.Graham, Midoriya would one of you two please turn on the projector it is behind where is Dr. Shiragami and you two are the closet to it." Yujiro said.
"Of course." Graham said while I just nodded as the two of us moved closer to Erika and I could promptly see the projector behind her.
I was about to say something to Erika before I felt something wrapping around me.
Not again.
Erika let out a roar as she moved closer to me and wrapped herself in her vines while Graham turned on the projector.
"Erika drop him." Agent Aoki said as he approached with his crowbar. She let out a slight growl before facing me.
"Later Erika, I promise." I said, getting her to let out a soft growl and nuzzle me for a second before letting go.
"With that out of the way, what have you two found out about this mutation?" Serizawa asked.
"Simply put this mutation is something which no one has been able to find before. We would have dismissed it as something else but Dr. Tōga was able to find some common factors. Now if you wouldn't mind." Mifune said, gesturing to the hematologist as he fiddled with the remote for the projector.
"And here we go." Yujiro said, flickering through a few photos of DNA chains, flipping through them with several parts highlighted. "From what we observed of the 312 samples over 134 samples basically flatlined at 50% chance of survival. But this genetic mutation unveiled by the Shirgami Compound has proven that too many similarities within the genetic code related to both those with Quirk and Quirkless properties. Along with barring some similarities to Erika's DNA there is something else we discovered."
With that he flicked through several photos until he landed on a photo of five different DNA chains. One like the several different one's he had shown and one that I had recognized as Erika's from seeing pictures of it over the past month.
Though the other three I didn't recognize at all, but there where several parts highlighted on them as well, similar to the others.
"Besides that we found out that several cells we used and had on record displayed a few similarities to this mutation and Erika's cell. These images display the genetic code belong to Agent Aoki and two hero's we have blood of, Godzillo and Humanzoid. And all three blood samples have one thing in common." Mifune said, and I immediately knew what it was.
"All three have traces in their DNA and Quirks of Kaiju. Godzillo has been found to have some traces similar to Gojira while Humanzoid's traits haven't been made all that apparent as her short but successful time as a hero in the U.S. but they have been said to several matches to several Kaiju. While Agent Aoki I guess would have similar traces to Rodman due to his wings. Given the possible relation and seeing them in use I can incur that while lacking the associated speed they probably have comparable durability at least for their size along with possible heat and fire resistance." I said as I quickly pulled out my notebook and jotted them down.
Before noticing that once again everyone's attention was on me. Except Nezu and All Might with the former looking more amused then anything.
"What?" I asked.
"You got it right on all accounts with my Quirk, but when did you pull out that notebook?" Aoki asked.
"Just now." I said, while putting it away in my backpack.
"Believe me when I say has detailed pages on every agent and hero in this room along with Erika. Figuring out the inner workings of your Quirks with speculation on what to improve upon and other details and detail sketches on everyone." All Might said with a sigh, getting my face to flush.
"That and any Quirks that I find interesting even without them being heros." I admitted as Erika once again tried to snake a vine towards me.
But was stopped as Gordon grabbed it and pulled her vine back, getting Erika to let out an annoyed roar.
"You can wait to see yourself in that notebook later. Hell I probably bet all of us are curious but you an wait." Agent Gordon said sternly.
Erika let out a slight growl but huffed. I also noticed that Aoki fluttered his wings while looking away.
"Doctors can you please continue." Serizawa said, thankfully getting everyone's attention off of me.
"Certainly and what Midoriya said is true, all of these cells have traces similar to Kaiju DNA along with their Quirks. But their cells were among the first to degenerate during the week, the Shiragami compound actively producing the most traces of micro oxygen in the blood cells of any other sample we conducted on. We had to dispose of those samples immediately." Yujiro said seriously, getting me to gulp and Aoki to look pale.
Considering what the Shiragami compound did with Erika's cells, I do not blame him. The thought of what being exposed to it was a horrific image.
"That is for the best, there should be no viable way produce micro oxygen." Agent Dupre said.
"Agreed, although it is interesting that these results might be a clear indicator to the theory that Quirks started to originate from residual Kaiju radiation might have some truth to it. Of course that need some more experimentation to prove it though." Nezu contemplated while putting a paw to his jaw in thought.
"True and which I do wish to test it out later, but as for now out of all of the samples only 75 potential donor's had this genetic mutation. All with a projected survival rate between 50% to 60% for both donor and Erika. The most variety of survivability out of the factors we have found out of the remaining samples." Mifune explained.
"But given the amount of time and materials to expose this mutation and possible rarity it is probably the hardest to identify." I said, getting both Yujiro and Mifune to nod at my words.
"Considering that it might be best option to look at the other conditions." Graham said.
"Which brings up another factor, surprisingly all of the potential donor samples that were from someone Quirkless. We managed to get 86 blood samples and all of them pass the 50% survivability mark. Unfortunately that is about it. While the blood degrades at a slower rate then the other blood samples we tested, giving them a transfusion is only marginally better then the other 134 that flatlined. Even then the results that we have seen to the blood can best be described as the results of what could be described as early stages of a hemolytic transfusion reaction." Yujiro said, getting me to wince a little.
I have read up a little on what can happen with one of those and how that can be fatale. They can be fatale and considering the nature of Erika's cells even if diluted I dread to imagine what would happen if a donor's immune system was attacking them.
The results would not be pretty...
"But the most surprising factor that we found is those with a O- blood type are actually a strong contenders to be a donors." Mifune said.
"But only about 28 out of 153 blood samples that had an O- blood type made it pass the 50% survivability mark. The samples that survived were from those with first and second generation Quirk users. All of them have close to a 60% survivability rate." Yujiro said.
"So the best choice of finding a donor will be for them to have a combination of O- negative blood type with this genetic mutation or Quirkless." All Might said and I saw seemed to Nezu perk up.
"And I take it that there was at least one potential donor among the samples as I counted at least 187 out of 188 samples that past the 50% mark." Serizawa said before I saw the principal of U.A. turn to me with a knowing grin.
Wait why was he doing that, unless he probably figured something out...
Hold on the factors they said were the best donors had to have a combination of a gentic mutation or be Quirkless with O- blood...
....
N-No way!
That meant that I was a...
That can't be true, but I do have the what is needed to be a donor for Erika. Yet maybe Yujiro and Mifune already found a donor with a better chance then myself. Maybe I just...
I was broken from my thoughts as Erika let out a joyous roar as she wrapped me around in her vines as she let out a roar and began to nuzzle me.
She figured it out as well!
"Not again." Agent Aoki sighed out.
"No, no. Let her have this, I believe that she knows that she will get cured soon enough." Nezu said, before quickly putting his paw to his mouth in a sushing gesture before everyone turned their attention to him. "I believe that either she believes we might find a potential match or is already bracing herself for the possibility of waiting. So let's just Erika have this moment unless Midoriya says otherwise."
From the way he was grinning , Nezu was currently enjoying this situation.
I heard that he had a bit of a sadistic streak, but then again I had never gotten a chance to it in action. I was usually around Erika whenever I saw the principal of U.A. and he usually more concerned about her possibly eating him.
And she was growling at him right now, possibly thinking of eating him once again.
"E-Erika please not mow, maybe later." I said to her quietly, calming Erika down for the moment before she went back to nuzzling me. "It's alright for now, I will be fine."
Everyone looked at me for a second before All Might sighed and Agent Aoki put away his crowbar.
"If you say so Young Midoriya." All Might said while keeping an eye on me.
"Now getting back on track we do have one outliner and that would be All Might's blood. The results show a 60% survivability rate with none of the factors shown. But from the results it shows that his blood reacts like the Quirkless samples with a developing hemolytic transfusion reaction. So he is not suitable for a donor." Mifune said, getting me and All Might to wince.
Considering the injury he got 5 years ago a transfusion like this would surely kill him.
"However we were able to find out two donors who matched the criteria, both of them however neither of use would recommend either of them though." Yujiro said, surprising almost everyone in the room.
"I expected something like this, but not for two different donors. What exactly would males makes them unsuitable?" Director Serizawa asked.
"Both are exempt for different reason. The first sample we found belonged to a Mr. Tanaka, a Quirkless man with an O- blood type. However he is 86 and currently in the hospital for barely recovering from surviving a stroke nearly two weeks ago." Mifune said.
"So that makes he was too old and probably would die mid transfusion. Then why was the other patient exempt." Graham asked as Yujiro sighed.
"Simple, she would be a danger to anyone if she was the donor." Yujiro said sternly as he turned the image on the projector.
It soon showed what appeared to be a mugshot of a woman in her early twenties with black hair and amber eyes.
The other potential donor was a villain.
"While Mr. Tanka had a good survivability rate from what we saw, this woman's blood sample had the least amount degeneration of anyone we have seen through this trial. With her blood carrying both the genetic mutation and an O- blood type. Although we will not be seeking her out due to her track record. Her name is-" "Sumire Kokuyōsenki." Mifune was explaining, before being cut off by All Might. Something that I didn't expect at all.
"So you know about this villain?" Agent Dupre inquired.
"Only through what Detective Tsukauchi has told me. Kokuyōsenki was a Trigger dealer and had been reportedly involved with several kidnappings of Next-Level users but with no real concrete proof. Last I know she had escaped from a hospital not that long ago after being injured and arrested during a police raid." All Might said, getting me to gulp.
So she was involved with the Villain Factory than. It was hard to dig up any information on them, but from what I know they were involved with multiple attacks, dealing with 'bad' Trigger, and human experimentation before being brought down. Considering from what I can gather they nearly killed thousands if not for All Might during the bombing of the Tokyo Sky Egg, I suppose that is good enough news to keep her away if she is involved.
"Have to agree with bean sprout on this one." Agent Gordon said as Erika tightened her grip on me.
I was muttering again, wasn't I?
"You were." Agent Aoki said.
Not again...
"Now that was a tough day." All Might said while shaking his head. "But what else I do know is that she is essentially a hired thug, a nonetheless resourceful one if hired for the right price according to Tsukauchi."
"While I agree, with besides the crimes you listed she has a few other ones that will want to keep her away from us besides that." Yujiro said as he turned of the projector. "Multiple cases of assault and mutilation, one case of dismemberment, one confirmed case of bribery against a cop, one case of speeding, and finally one case of murder although that was ruled an accident. And that is only what is confirmed, there are some things that I would prefer not to go into." Yujiro said seriously, and for a second I swear I felt a shiver down my spine.
Along with Erika letting out a loud roar.
It is probably best for me to not look into the rumors...
"So with Tanaka hospitalized and too old and Kokuyōsenki being to much of a risk, then there is no other options for a donor for Erika at the moment." Graham sighed out.
"Yet given that 7% of the population has O- blood type along with 20% being Quirkless we at least now know what to look for. With time running out it is best to look for donors that fit those qualifications as looking for this genetic mutation will take for more time then we could possibly have." Serizawa sighed out before straightening himself out in his chair. "Dr. Tōga, Dr. Mifune what was the survivability rate for both Tanaka and Kokuyōsenki?"
"The best we could figure that it would be between 70% and 80% survivability rate for the donors and Erika. With Tanaka being on the low end and Kokuyōsenki being on the high end of each percentile. With them being the only two potential donor's we would have to compare other potential donors to them through a similar process with all the other blood samples. We had looked over more than enough samples and documented the results to get a better rate of the survivability for both donor and Erika. Minus counting any health issues that would disqualify them." Mifune said with a sigh.
"So it would be best to find a suitable candidate. And I can safely say as the head hematologist of Monarch there is no one currently staffed with the matching factors to be a potential donor. Nor is there anyone I can tell among U.A. staff." Yujiro said with a grin as he turned to face me.
I grew anxious as he had figured it out and it seemed that everyone else was too.
"But we already had such a donor right here the entire time. Wouldn't you agree principal Nezu?" The hematologist said, getting Nezu to chuckle.
"I could not agree more." He said as everyone's attention now fell on me.
While Erika just let out joyous roar as her vines constricted around me even tighter.
It was getting hard to breathe...but it was worth it I suppose...
Okay maybe not...
"E-Erika can you please...l-let go...g-getting hard to breath..." I was struggling to say between gasps before Erika released me from her vines and placed me on the ground. "T-Thank you."
Erika let out a soft growl before she began to nuzzle herself against me once again. Guess she got too caught up in the excitement of me being a potential donor.
Didn't mean it that it hurt any less though...
"Young Midoriya are you alright?" All Might asked as he came to check up on me.
"I'm fine..." I groaned out.
"So the bean sprout is the donor? I can understand from what Yagi told me, but he only has one of the factors." Agent Gordon said gruffly.
"I make sure to memorize each new applicants medical records before the initiation exam to I can remember which ones to put on file for U.A. once they make it. And Midoriya's medical records show that he has an O- blood type and is psychically healthy for someone his age. So once I knew of the factors, I knew instantly. With Midoriya and Erika seems to have figured it out as well, but I do believe she only did from his reaction." Nezu said, getting Erika to let out a loud roar at him.
Which I can probably guess was her way of agreeing with him.
"Honestly I just figured it out from Erika's reaction." Yujiro said with a shrug as Graham pulled out a tablet. "Then again she does that just about every day with you Midoriya."
True enough, and I don't mind it all that much.
Could do without Erika nearly breaking my rib so much...
"He's right, Midoriya's medical records align with what Nezu has said. For all intents and purposes he is perfect candidate." Graham said.
"Of course we will have to wait a bit to actually start as I still needed to finish up the failsafes on the transfusion rig. Better to have them fully functional then for them not to." Agent Aoki said, getting me to nod in agreement with his statement.
Considering the sheer unpredictability of this transfusion and of Erika's blood even if diluted through the Shiragami compound that it was more than necessary to be prepared for anything.
"There is also the matter of making sure that Midoriya will even survive the transfusion. It would take sometime to gather some idea of the survivability rate. Along with Dr. Mifune and Dr. Tōga had only managed to find two other donors with similar factors. So it is not guaranteed that he would hold a similar chance for survival." Agent Dupre said, getting me to gulp a little as the possibility was true.
"Nor what effects it will have on his body. We may have gathered results on the effects a donor's blood, but it's not substantial enough for the long term effects. Even then we would still have too monitor his body for changes that would be brought about this process." Mifune said.
"Even with all those risks I have faith that Young Midoriya would be willing to embrace the risks in order to save Erika. But first I must know if he even wishes to do so?" All Might said, getting surprised looks from everyone in the room.
But I doubt that few would have been as shocked as myself when All Might had said that.
Why would he say that?
Even after nearly a month after meeting Erika and being determined to help her in whatever way I can, especially after what happened with the Kaiju why would he ask that now?
"Is there any reason why you would suggest that?" Serizawa inquired curiously, with Nezu leaning forward in his chair and Erika let out a soft growl.
"I just wanted to make sure that he was ready." All Might sighed out before facing me with a smile. "Young Midoriya you are so close to becoming a true hero. I have seen it since the first day we meet and that potential has grown considerably since meeting Erika. Your desire to save her by being the first in centuries to work out the possibility to return her to a human form and from the Kaiju infecting her has shown brightly throughout this month. And not just with Erika, I had seen these efforts have also been showing your growth in your training and in the face of adversity. You are close to becoming a true hero. I know that you are more then willing to give your blood for Erika and become the donor to cure her. But before you do there is one thing I have to ask you Young Midoriya."
It took me a second to process what All Might said, and while I was still happy to hear his praise I was more concerned with what he wants to ask.
But at this point we'll I would be happy to being so close to being a true hero in All Might' words, but I just want to help Erika.
"W-What would that be?" I asked him, my tone showing I was somewhat anxious about what he would have to say. That and I was still somewhat short of breath.
"I want to know Young Midoriya are you truly ready for this?" All Might said, shocking me. "I know that would without any hesitation, but for this instance I need to hear it from you that you are truly ready in your endeavor to save Erika by becoming her donor."
Well I was still reeling from All Might's words, he lifted up his shirt to reveal his scar from whatever happened 5 years ago.
"I got this injury from a choice similar 5 years ago. There was a chance to save a great many people from someone who I had dedicated my entire hero career to stopping Young Midoriya. 5 years ago I had a chance and I took it knowing the possibility that I might die. And I accepted the consequences it had on my body as I had saved so many lives that day. And I would have done the same if I could have saved just one life from that man." All Might sighed out as he placed his shirt down.
Around the room it seemed like most of the Monarch staff looked solemn at the revelation along with Nezu. I knew that at least Serizawa, Gordon, and Mifune had some knowledge of All Might's past, perhaps the rest had some details and I know that Yujiro had to have at least known about All Might's health.
I was shocked and Agent Aoki was as well. Erika stopped nuzzling me and wrapped me in one of her vines and pulled me closer. Letting out a low growl in what I believe was her attempting to sooth me.
Not that it was going to do much, but I was still thankful for it nonetheless.
Especially with what All Might was saying and what I could figure out.
He wanted me to think of what could happen if I went through with becoming Erika's donor.
Honestly I was a little scared, anyone else would be if given the position.
If I went through with this than there would still be a good enough chance that this could kill Erika, me, or the both of us. Along with there was a good enough chance that I could suffer changes to my body from just having Erika's blood in my veins. Even if the effects would be dampened by the Shiragami compound, there was no telling what could happen.
While I might be confident in that Monarch might be able to mitigate some of these effects, but there still a great chance anything could go wrong...along with the possibility of just letting Erika pass on.
With the parasitic Kaiju infecting her, time running out, and just wishing to regain a human form after nearly 300 years it seemed like maybe it was the right thing to do. But I had promised Erika that I would do whatever I could to save her and to be with her the whole way. Even if it was to be with her if in case it comes to just letting Erika pass on.
Something that she had probably been thinking of over this past month, but Erika was still keen on doing so. Especially after I found out why she hid about the Kaiju from everyone cause she believed that it would brake me if I couldn't save her.
Maybe she was right...but I have accepted that for nearly two weeks now.
Alongside that going through with the transfusion might be the best way I can help Erika at all.
Okay I have made up my mind on that what else would there be...
Well it would take a few days to identify at least the survivability rate and there was alway the possibility that there could other more viable donors being found.
So that could leave only one more thing to worry about...Mom...
She was already worried about the risks I could take if I became a hero, finding out about Erika's true nature and if I do undergo the transfusion there is no telling how worried that she will be.
Especially if she found out the survivability rate or the changes that could be brought about by this.
That and there was not telling how she would take it if I were to die during the transfusion...even I could barely imagine how she would react...
...I know what I am going to do now.
Erika let out a soft growl, breaking me out of my thoughts.
Looking around I saw that everyone's attention was on me. With Erika and All Might looking on me in concern.
I don't know how long I had been lost in thought about this, but I do know my answer.
"It's alright Erika, I'm alright." I said with gently placing a hand on her vine, getting Erika to let out a soft growl as I faced All Might. "I have made my choice."
"What did you chose Young Midoriya?" All Might asked tersely.
"I will become Erika's donor. But I know that it will still take a few days to figure out everything that is needed for this and I will accept if Monarch can find a donor with better potential. I did promise Erika that I would help her whatever way I can. So if it means becoming a donor than I will accept whatever happens next." I said with a small smile, before sighing and getting closer to All Might. "Though I do need to find a way to tell my mom about this. She needs to know at least something." I said to him quietly.
I was going to go through with this no matter what now. But she needs to know in case anything does happen to me.
"Don't worry I am sure we will find a way to do so." All Might said with a smile as Erika wrapped her vines around me and let out a loud roar as she began to nuzzle against me once again.
But even more vicariously then...and here grip on her vines was even tighter then usual.
Y-Yet I suppose it is worth it...
I-I think that this literally might be the happiest she had been in centuries...
S-She is so close to regaining a human form now...and it is getting hard to breathe...
"E-Erika I am just as...happy as you are, but...can you...please let me go..." I said, struggling brearthe. But Erika let out a loud roar and constricted me tighter.
Ok she wasn't letting me go...
"A-A little help..." I gasped out, getting Aoki to sigh as he pulled out his crowbar.
Only for Erika to let out a loud roar and blasted his with a wad of sap, which landed as his feet.
"E-Erika please don't spit sap at them...and please let me go..." I groaned out, getting Erika to huff, but she loosened her vines up a lot.
She didn't let go, but I can at least breath normally again.
Agent Aoki tried to move closer, but Erika just growled at him with sap dripping from the end of one her vines.
"I think it might be paramount to end this meeting soon, or just get Erika out of here." Nezu said as Erika growled at him before she went back to nuzzling me.
"That might be a good idea." I groaned out as Erika let out a small roar as I struggled to get out of her vines, but she was not letting go.
"Well it will give us time to get everything ready for some tests." Mifune said, getting Yujiro to nod.
"Also might be for the best to gather several samples of Midoriya's blood to get a better example. Along with other samples of less compatiable donors that we have stationed here so we could get a better idea on how this transfusion could work." Yujiro said, which did sound like a good idea.
Especially considering what happens with it will result be live and death for me and Erika.
"I think that you might want to get the beansprout and Erika out of here Yagi." Gordon said, pointing towards Nezu...with one of Erika's vines sneaking up behind him.
"Honestly that might be a good idea. Young Midoriya do you mind helping get Erika outside?" All Might said, turning into his heroic form as he tried to pull Erika along.
But she tried to reach towards Nezu, but the sound of static filled the air and I felt something race past me briefly before Erika roared out in pain as Agent Dupre had ripped the vine away her. Fixing her a stern gaze that unnerved me, and I wasn't even to one receiving it.
"E-Erika please it might be better if you were outside at the moment." I said, trying to calm her down and calm myself down from Dupre's terrifying gaze. "I know you are excited that I'm the donor, so I am I. But I would prefer that you didn't do anything that could ruin it or do anything that might get you into trouble with Monarch and U.A. Like trying to eat Nezu."
"Something which I would prefer that she didn't." Nezu said shakily.
Erika looked between the me and him for a few moments before she let out a huff before she broke down into spores and began to exit the room and to head out of the room. With myself following suite as it was probably best if I did to make sure that Erika didn't cause anything else right now.
If she felt confident enough to try and eat Nezu in front of everyone else there was no telling on what else she might feel like doing.
"I believe it might be best for me to go with her." I said before walking toward the door.
"Midoriya before you leave there is something that I need to ask you about."Serizawa asked, getting me to pause in my steps and turn to face him.
"What would that be?" I asked the director of Monarch.
"I understand what you feel and why you have accepted what will happen if you go through with being Erika's donor. But it is as you said as there is still time to face other potential donors that could hold a greater potential than yourself. But if you do go through with this Midoriya, whatever effects that can go through with this transfusion will most likely be irreversible. I just want to make sure that you wouldn't have any second thoughts from this." Serizawa said, getting me to nod while processing his words.
It took me only a moment to think of my answer to him.
"I won't. I will admit that I am worried about what could happen when the transfusion will occur. But unless another donor could be found I will still go through with the transfusion if it will save Erika. Otherwise I will do what I can to support her. Besides after everything that has happened this past month concerning her I wouldn't have any second thoughts about this anyway." I said honestly to him.
That answer seemed to satisfy Serizawa as he nodded with a small smile.
"Thank you, that is what I wanted to know. I believe that it would be rude to keep Erika waiting any longer." He said as Erika's spores began to surround and gather around me.
I just sighed and nodded while noticing Nezu and Graham looked amused while Agent Gordon just shook his head at the sight. The spores began to settle onto my clothes and pull towards the exit of the room.
"Come along Young Midoriya." All Might said as he held the exit open and the spores started to push forward, with myself just walking amongst them.
While on the walk out most of the researchers and agents looked at the sight of me among the spores in amusement for those familiar with Erika, awe at the display at her powers, or some cases as fear as more than a few of them had been of her anger. Usually the mistake of calling her Biollante.
It didn't take us long to exit the facility before Erika reformed herself and wrapped her vines around me again, pulling me close to her as she began to nuzzle me. Thankfully is he wasn't squeezing the life out of me. Especially with how happy she seemed.
All Might shirted out of his heroic form as he began to cough up some blood, wiping it away before smiling at me.
"You certainly surprised me today Young Midoriya, going along with becoming Erika's donor. But are you truly ready for this? I know what you said to everyone back there and to Serizawa, and I believe you meant it. But if you have any misgivings at all you need to say them now Young Midoriya before it is too late." All Might said with a frown.
Erika let out a small roar as she stopped nuzzling me and looked down at me as I was still processing what he said. Looking up to see that she was curious about my response.
That and along with All Might's words I knew what I had to say.
"I already said everything I needed back in that meeting room...but there is a few things I worry about. I do worry about the exact effects this will have on my body as no one has tried anything like this before with Kaiju DNA and survived. Even if we did find away to make it happen, there is no telling what might happen even if the effects are mitigated by the Shirigami compound given the chimeric nature of her cells. But that is something I will have to accept if it means saving Erika. But what I worry the most is how this will affect Erika and Mom if I do become the donor." I admitted, getting Erika to let out a small roar and All Might to nod.
"You are worried about Erika not making it and the effects this transfusion will have on you would affect your mother." All Might said, getting me to nod as Erika let out a small growl while tightening her vines a little.
Thankfully I capsule still breathe unhindered.
"I have. With Erika it's a given chance she might die. But I dread to think to think about that possibility." I said as Erika let out another small growl before nuzzling me again. "With Mom she would worry about what exactly would be happening to me. Especially if I died because of this. If anything would happen to me and Mom didn't know it could very much destroy her..."
Even over a decade later I can still vividly remember the day she broke down and embraced me after finding out I was Quirkless. I doubt I will ever forget that day as long as I live...
Anything happens to me with this transfusion that goes wrong with Mom knowing could break her...and I didn't want for her to go through that again when she already worries enough about what can happen when I become a hero...
"Young Midoriya, are you alright?" All Might asked, breaking me from my musings.
Looking around I saw him looking at me in concern while Erika let out a soft growl as I felt one of her vines brushed against my face. Along with my eyes turning blurry.
"I'm alright, just remembering something." I said somewhat truthfully as I wiped away the forming tears with my arm.
Even years later it still hurt to think about it sometimes, but I can't let it get to me at this moment.
"So I should feel like that we should tell her soon even if Monarch finds a better donor before we are certain the transfusion will work. Mom needs to know what will happen no matter what happens" I said, getting All Might to nod.
"She definitely will, we have a few days to come up with something but your mother does need to know about this Young Midoriya. But your resolve to save Erika has never wavered even with the possibility of both of dying.." All Might said, getting me to nod determinedly.
"This is the closest Erika has ever been to a human form, to be free from what happened centuries ago and the parasitic Kaiju.I know I promised Erika that I would be there for here until the very end, so that is what I am going to do. I am going to through with the transfusion and accept everything that will happen as long as it cures Erika." I said with a smile.
Doing this will restore Erika to her human form and I will not back down, no matter how life threatening or painful it might be. I would have given up on training to be strong enough to inherit One for All months ago if I had. I wasn't giving up then, so I wasn't going to give up now.
Not until Erika is cured and free to live a new life.
I was broken from my musings as All Might laughed and Erika wrapped her vines around me, cutting off my ability to breathe once again. Before they relaxed as Erika started nuzzling me while roaring out happily.
"You are so close Midoriya, you are so close to the embodiment of becoming a true hero." All Might said with a smile, surprising me. "You are so close, but for now I suggest that you just focus on Erika for the time being. Especially since I will have to rearrange your training once again soon."
"What do you mean by that?" I asked him curiously.
While I was happy about All Might's praise, I am curious and a little nervous about his newest plans for training. Especially since I have been sparing against Agent Gordon and Dupre these past few weeks...
"I am planning on making it less strenuous in general if you do go through with the transfusion Young Midoriya. Both for the procedure and for Monarch to monitor any changes that would happen." All Might said, getting me to nod with a wince.
Considering how much of my blood they would have to take from me and replace with Erika's per transfusion to cure her would be a uncomfortable process to imagine. Yet it would all be worth it to help her.
Erika let out a loud roar before pulling myself closer to her.
"But I think that is enough worrying for now Young Midoriya and Erika seems to thinks so as well." All Might said, getting me to sigh with a small smile.
They were right, despite me already thinking of several possible consequences of what can happen from the transfusion.
Erika was so close to being cured and she seemed so happy that I would hate to ruin it. Although I doubt anything I could say or do would have those results. But the less said about if anyone else did or someone she was already upset at she would possibly lash out at them.
Yet right now I can keep whatever worries I have for the future at bay for now.
Just seeing Erika so happy at being cured soon was good enough for me.
(U.A. Examination Grounds - Noon - Yesterday)
After the news from yesterday I spent some more time with Erika yesterday before having to head home after getting some blood taken for Yujiro and Mifune to stimulate the transfusion with like they have with the several other samples they did the past week. It will take another day or two for them gather enough results to find the survivability rate of the transfusion.
Alongside waiting to hear from them if Monarch could find any other potential donors for the transfusion. But from what I had heard they haven't found any other candidate so far without checking for this new mutation within Monarch. Out of Monarch they were already checking for medical records of anyone in this or the nearby prefectures and around any bases they have across Japan and on mainland Asia for someone that was both Quirkless and O- blood type. So far they haven't found anyone with those qualifications.
Sure according to Yujiro they had found one or two potential donors, but they were both too old and medically unfit to survive the transfusion.
Honestly I was a little surprised they had managed to find anyone else with those traits so soon given the rarity of those two traits combined. Though I was less surprised that those they found were too elderly as a good portion of the Quirkless population is past the age of 40.
Still there was still sometime until it was too late for Erika and the Kaiju took over. Not that we were going to let that happen.
But there was still a few days before we could my results for the expected survivability rate for me and Erika, so things had resumed to what I have been doing this past week.
Which was trying to regain my composure from another sparring session with Agent Dupre.
Right now I was leaning against a half broken concrete pillar catching my breathe as Erika let out what I guess was encouraging roar while Snipe watched with her. Agent Aoki nearby working on machinery sprawled out on a makeshift workman table made from concrete.
Right now the two of them were helping to keep an Erika while I spared with Dupre, with Snipe mainly being here as All Might was out doing hero work right now. That and with Erika now knowing that she was so close to being restored to a human form she was more prone to accelerating the results to become human.
Suffice to say Erika had been tearing her vines and getting blood in the hopes to speed up finding the results for the transfusion, acting aggressive to those that tried to stop her.
They were still cleaning her sap off the lab's walls last time I saw it.
Anyway I was currently resting up from the last one sided spar with Agent Dupre.
I was lucky enough that the sparing for yesterday was canceled from the news, I wasn't so lucky today.
Unlike sparing with Agent Gordon her Quirk never activated during our sparring sessions and she was much more precise.with her attacks with her attacks even while holding back. Meaning each sparring session was just a test of endurance and seeing how long I can last against her. Which to be honest wasn't that long.
Still I was doing a lot better then I first started...which wasn't all that much,
I at least get a few minute brakes between each sessions to recuperate, but she never said when the sessions started back up. The only tell was a slight noise for when to start before either she attacked me or I had to attack her as the sparring begins.
Which fits well as their are no cues when a villain can attack a hero or a crime pops up while on patrol can start up. I alway had to be on guard for when Agent Dupre could go on the attack.
Successfully reacting for it is another matter entirely...
I heard a small static buzz fill the air and I immediately snapped to attention as Agent Dupre rushed towards me.
Barely dodging a kick aimed for my side I tried to throw a punch with my right hand, only for her to catch my fist. I quickly tried pull back, but she pushed and released her gripe on my hand. Causing me to fall back before she threw a hit to my gut.
I doubled over and tried not to scream out in pain before Agent Dupre rushed forward once again. Bringing my arms out to hopefully block her attack. Only to find my arms burning in pain as I block a punch from her that pushed me back a little bit. Before she followed up with a kick that broke through my defense and pushed me back towards a fallen concrete pillar, my lungs feeling like they were on fire.
She didn't let up for a second as she threw a quick right hook to my chest, causing me to groan in pain which only increased when she threw another one with her left hand. Pushing me onto the pillar.
Seeing my chance, despite the pain I threw a quick side kick to her stomach before she could land another hook. It didn't do much, but managed to put a little distance between Agent Dupre and me.
And I promptly booked it away from her.
I needed to some distance between us I order to better defend myself against her.
Unfortunately she caught up pretty quickly and I barely managed to duck away from her trying to punch me. Along with hastily trying to block another strike form Agent Dupre while throwing a punch of my own. Which she caught and proceed to drag me closer while trying to throw a jab towards my face with her free hand.
I barely ducked underneath her jab before quickly pulling my hand away from her grasp.
Agent Dupre retaliated by throwing two quick strikes to my chest and stomach before I tried to block a third punch from her. It worked, but the force of her punch pushed me down to the ground. I grunted in pain as I landed, before I had to roll away from the Monarch agent trying to kick me.
I quickly picked myself back up and barely dodged another strike from her, before having to block another one with my arm. I held back a groan of pain that surged from my arm and started to run back from her.
Yet once against caught up to me before she punched me in the gut, getting me to double over before striking again. I would have been struck another time if I hadn't taken a few steps back.
Dupre rushed forward once again to strike me, but I saw my chance and managed to land a hit to her gut.
Only for her to retaliate by landing a uppercut to my stomach, knocking the air out of me before I collapsed onto the ground past the boundary line.
Everything hurts...
I groaned out in pain as I tried to regain my breathe as I tried to pick myself up as I could hear Erika roaring in the distance. Grabbing my stomach in pain as I tried to stand back up. It was going to bruise, I have faced Agent Dupre to know that everything was going to bruise by the end of this session.
Something which Recovery Girl kept chastising about when healing me. But I couldn't tell if the Monarch agent didn't care or wasn't all that bothered by it.
"Same results as last time Midoriya. Although your blocking has gotten better, you need to remember to keep a stronger foundation along with adding more offense to your blocking. While being able to block and dodge properly is important in a fight, it will not matter in the long term if that is all you do. Along with remember to rotate your opposite foot during a side kick, it widens your hips and generates more power behind it. And keep your knee up with the kick, otherwise you will lose a lot of your power and miss where you are aiming at." Agent Dupre said, with myself nodding.
While the knowledge with fighting technique was beneficiary, the most I could do was dodge and try to block Agent Dupre attacks given how easily she can pick apart my attacks and she moved faster then I could analyze how . Unlike Agent Gordon whose Quirk allows him to take whatever I throw at him.
Which wasn't all that much for either of them to begin with.
Before I could say anything else, I found myself wrapped out in vines and Erika bring myself close to me. Nuzzling me without any protests or really anything on my part. I was too exhausted to really care all that much.
Yet I still appreciate it all the same.
"Still you certainly are improving your abilities Midoriya, you might have a lot to learn you seem to be making strides in your combat abilities every time I get the chance to see it." I heard someone say not that far off from us, and I turned to see who it was with Erika's help.
It was Cementoss.
"I take it that you are here to trade shifts with Snipe?" I asked, getting the concrete like man to nod.
Myself and others are still trying to figure out if his appearance are a side effect of his Quirk, genetics from his family with a mutation Quirk, or a mixture of both. Something that Cementoss has mainly be quite about.
Still on most other subject he is pretty open about them whenever I had a chance to talk with him when he was assigned to guard Erika.
That and it was kind of nice to find a fellow All Might fan among the U.A. Staff, although he was better at keeping it in check than I was.
"That is correct Midoriya, although I won't be here long All Might should be on his way back according to Nezu." Cementoss said, getting me to nod at that before wincing as I felt something poking at my side.
Probably one of her thorn like teeth of her vines poking at my sides again, wouldn't be the last time it happened.
Except the poking continued and it started to come all over her vines...oh no...
Please don't tell me it it was happening again.
Looking over at Erika's face I saw that she was still happily nuzzling me, only both of her eyes to be turning a darkish orange color.
T-The Kaiju was back, and this time it had taken Erika over with barely any effort. I-If it was capable of doing that right now, then I dreaded to think about what the Kaiju could possibly do!
It looked at me, it's eyes burning in hatred and tried to drag me closer.
Only for something to strike it's head, causing to Kaiju to roar out in pain as it's crystal studded vines to loosen up and I tried to run. The Kaiju tried to bite down on my leg, but screamed out in pain as Agent Dupre rushed forward and struck the monster in it's side.
The Kaiju roared out in pain as a static sound filled the air and hole was blown clear through it's side!
Agent Dupre quickly pulled me back as Snipe threw a pair of smoke bombs, my vision blurring and static noise was all I could hear before I found myself with her and Cementoss behind a cement wall.
Feeling very disoriented and like I just wanted to lose the contents of my stomach.
Both from what just happened and that now Erika was once again possessed by that parasitic Kaiju. And once again it nearly tried to kill me.
I-I had been afraid of this possibility ever since the first time. T-There was always the possibility of this happening, especially with being so close to curing her.
E-Except it just happened and honestly I am terrified.
Given how much hatred this Kaiju had for me I was a little scared in what it could do. But I was more scared on what it could do for everyone else and Erika herself.
Last time it had emerged it tried to kill Snipe, maimed me, and had increased Erika's infection rate rapidly. So I am afraid of how this Kaiju could do to everyone here in it's attempts to harm me. Along with given how much time she had left before the point of no return I am worried about what how it's latest possession will affect her.
B-But I can't let it get to me me right now.
I need to keep it together for Erika's sake and my own. Despite there was hardly anything I could do at the moment and hope that more help would soon arrive while I try to figure out what to do...
Shaking my head I surveyed my surroundings, seeing Snipe firing away at the Kaiju and Aoki flying towards me, Agent Dupre, and Cementoss.
He was working on some kind of thing in his hands and on his chest, back, and a third of his wings were covered with metallic plating. With the device he was working on in between his wings.
So I guess it was some kind of armor then.
"More agents and Gordon should be here soon, the U.A. teachers should be arriving shortly afterwards." Aoki said, getting Agent Dupre to nod.
"Aoki guard Midoriya, he is the Kaiju's primary target." She said before a lot cry rang through the area.
My blood rang cold as I could recognize it as Erika's call as clear as day. Perhaps against my better judgement, I looked past the barrier to take a glance to see what was happening.
And I immediately wished I didn't.
For I saw that Erika was in control, smashing her head into the ground and ripping out any crystals she could see.
S-She was tearing herself to pieces in order to stop the Kaiju from possessing her. While I was happy to know that she fighting her possession, it pained me to see that she had to resort to this. Even with Erika's healing factor I could barely fathom how much it hurts in order to do so.
And that pain turned even worse once Erika's roars turned back into the Kaiju's own, which turned into horror as crystals burst out all over it's body and warping Erika's appearance even more than the last time.
It's vines coated with sharp crystals, the trans-orange crest stood atop it's head. But the most drastic changes lay at it's side and back. On the Kaiju's back two large crystals were jutting off of it's shoulders. While on the upper back a series of jagged and fractured crystals had emerged, looking like the dorsal spines of Gorjira a little. But the most horrific in my opinion was that a new vine had burst out of the Kaiju's right side. It resembled the other crystal covered vine until the end, where it ended in a misshapen flytrap like mouth and two crystal tipped digits acting like a finger and thumb.
I-It was starting to resemble the carving Erika had hidden in her greenhouse weeks ago. I-If it was like this and warped Erika's body to this state, then just how far was her infection?
I didn't have long to ponder that I felt something wash over me and I clutched my head as I felt like it was being split open!
Agent Aoki was doing the same thing and Cementoss was barely keeping his composure as I began to identify what was this feeling as it began to subside greatly.
Emotion, pure emotion. More precisely anger, malice, and something I couldn't decipher.
And it was all coming from one source.
"You have got to be kidding me, that Kaiju's a telepath!" Aoki said as Snipe continued to fire at the Kaiju, aiming at the crystals on it's shoulders as more Monarch appeared and opened fire.
"I-I think that it's limited perhaps if it was just projecting it's emotions like that." I said in a dread filled tone.
Few Kaiju where noted to have had some form of telepathy on various differ levels. So I was dreading having one that it was making it's feelings of hatred towards me very clear.
"Either way let's get you out of here." Aoki said as he grabbed me and flew into the air. Behind us apI could hear a burst of static as Agent Dupre launched forwards.
The Kaiju roared out as it began to let lose wads of sap from it's vines and lashing out with it's vines as it began to trudge towards me at speeds faster than I though it could move given it's size without breaking into spores.
It was continuing to try and reach me despite all of the tranquilizers and damage it was taking. With Monarch agents either using bullets and their Quirks to harm the Kaiju. As much as I hated that it had come to this, given how dangerous the Kaiju was, Erika's healing factor, and seemingly a high pain threshold these methods were necessary.
I just hope we can manage to snap Erika out of this soon.
The Kaiju brought one of it's vines to it's malformed 'hand' before cutting it off with it's jaws. The cut vine began to go limp and be covered in crystals before it began to cover crystals before it began to float in the air!
"I-It has telekinesis!" I said in shock.
No recorded Kaiju had ever been able to do that before!
And now it is training towards me like a spear!
"Hang on Midoriya!" Aoki said as he began to descend as a concrete pillar slammed into the Kaiju and with Agent Dupre striking multiple times, multiple bursts of static followed by chunks of it's flesh being blown off.
She backed away as the Kaiju roared out in pain and the crystal spear was launched towards me as Agent Aoki landed on the ground. But the spear looked like it was breaking away as it was flying, and shattering as it grazed against the armor on Aoki's wings, denting it a little as the shards brushed off his wing.
"Are you okay?" I asked him as he winced a little.
Thankfully the crystal spears seemed to be very brittle even if the impact seemed like it could do some serious damage.
And it didn't stop the Kaiju from cutting of more vines and launching them like spears into growing number of Monarch agents confronting it. With the spears being broken by Agent Dupre and Cementoss while Snipe kept shooting them down. Along with more agents ducking behind concrete barriers erected by Cementoss from the fallen pillars in the surrounding area.
"I'll be fine, a little bruised but fine. Anyway you are going to need this Midoriya." Aoki said as he handed me the device he was working on in his free hand.
It looked like a rod that was hastily cobbled together from various parts, most likely from spare parts of his armor. There was a button that was more or less a lose metallic plate with two prongs at the end...wait.
"Is this supposed to be a taser." I asked getting Aoki to nod as the assault on the Kaiju continued.
"More or less, only good for a use or two and not very powerful...that and once you see it sparking or flaming chuck it immediately." Aoki said, getting me to look at the potential bomb in my hands with fear. "Honestly it is at least better than nothing. This way you can at least defend yourself against the Kaiju if it does attack you. At least this way you should be able to help out without me having to worry about taking in someone untrained with a gun."
"A-Are you sure, there isn't all that much I can do right now besides keep watch for her condition or help anyone towards the back like last time." I said as I saw the Kaiju roared out in pain as Agent Dupre managed to blast another chunk of it's body before jumping back from on of it's crystal spears.
The Kaiju was still going strong and no matter what it seemed like or how many vines where cut off it still remained strong. And from where I was it seemed like there were an agent or two behind a nearby concrete wall trying to close off what I hoped to be shallow gashes.
Things were already getting more out of hand then when the Kaiju took control the first time...
"Midoriya snap out of it." Aoki said, breaking me from my thoughts. "Now while it is more or less the same, but it might be for the best to stick to the sides unless the Kaiju decides to attack more people to get to you."
I just nodded as what he said made sense.
The Kaiju was targeting me, it made it clear through still broadcasting it's feelings of anger towards me. Uncaring about anything else except for getting everyone out of it's way through any means necessary I order to get to me.
People were already getting hurt and the longer this goes on the greater chance more will get her. Along with there was no telling how this will affect Erika the longer this will go on.
So if we can distract it long enough for everyone to get here soon along with finding a way to break it's hold on Erika...and I think I might have an idea on how to do so.
"Aoki can you please check in the air of Agent Gordon is close by? I think he and Agent Dupre might be strong enough to actually free Erika from the Kaiju." I said, getting him to look at me in shock.
Before abruptly pulling me off the ground as a small crystal spear impaled the ground nearby where I just was before shattering.
That was too close, and a good indicator that the Kaiju was steadily growing stronger.
"Considering the Kaiju is after you, leaving you alone even for a minute is a bad idea." Aoki said as we ducked behind a concrete pillar. "But are you sure that your idea might work?"
"Possibly, Erika did free herself the last time through removing the crystal crest on her head and from what I have seen the Kaiju has a stronger hold over her body this time. Plus the crest seems more resilient than the last time. I am unsure of anyone else currently at U.A. that might be able to break through it except for Cementoss, but that is if he can get a strong enough hit in and it might be too risky with Thirteen's Quirk if she gets here in time." I said, getting Aoki to ponder over my words.
Honestly Cementoss might be able to fracture it if he manages to hit the crest hard enough enough, but with with how the Kaiju was tanking his attacks or moving out of the way of them.
If Thirteen used her Quirk then we might risk sucking up Erika's head as well. I know that her regenerative capabilities she would most likely survive, but the result afterward were too unpredictable given Erika's current state.
All Might was still too far out and President Mic's Quirk might stand a chance to do some damage for the crystal, but he might not be able to figure out the correct frequency to even fracture the crystal since it seems to be organic in composure given Erika's cell structure.
"Probably could have done without all that information, but it might be best to relay it incase what we had planned didn't work." He said, getting me to nod as I realized that I was mumbling again.
He pulled out a pistol before looking over past the concrete pillar.
"I'll fly up and over you, but it might be a good idea to stay under me. And we move out starting..." Aoki trailed out before I could here the Kaiju letting out an ear piercing roar followed by several massive bursts of static noise. "Now!"
He took of into the air and I followed after him with my ears still ringing from whatever just happened.
Whatever Agent Dupre did left a large hole in the left side of the Kaiju's body, but it was quickly closing up and I found the Monarch agent moving behind a concrete pillar as a crystal spear shattered against the wall.
As Agent Aoki flew in the air a bit and fired tranquilizers at the Kaiju, it turned it's attention towards me. In the back of my head I could feel it's anger at me spiking as I tried to head to a concrete pillar away from everyone else knowing that it would try to attack me.
It what I didn't expect was for orangish energy to arc from it's shoulder crystals and spines like a certain Kaiju...I proceeded to run as fast as I could towards the pillar!
Even if whatever the Kaiju was doing was similar to Gorjira's Atomic breath might be mitigated by it's size, being hit by it will be devastating!
"Midoriya hang on!" Agent Aoki called out as he flew down and picked me up into the air as the Kaiju let out a discharge of orange energy from it's mouth.
It was arcing like a lighting bolt and heading toward us! Aoki tried to maneuvering out of the way, but the energy seemed to be following us no matter what he did to escape!
Seriously just what was this Kaiju fully capable of!
"Make sure to keep your mouth shut Midoriya, the stabilizer isn't finished and I used parts of it for the taser." Aoki said, the later part was mostly quite and myself wondering what he was going to do and dreading it.
Before the device on his back flared up and saw a small thruster open up in the back and it lit up, rocketing us away from the Kaiju's beam.
The good news was the thruster was enough to get us away from the Kaiju's breath attack as it dissipated.
The bad news was we were spinning out of control!
Even with Aoki tried using his wings to stabilize our flight, it did little to help the spinning!
It came to a stop a moment later as the thruster stopped and Aoki righted himself in the air before landing and setting me on to the ground behind a sap covered concrete barrier.
For a few seconds the world didn't stop spinning, but when it did I felt very disoriented and stumbled to look past the wall. While making sure to stick close to Aoki as he tried not to throw up.
What I saw made me pale as Aoki had landed us close by to the Kaiju, which was roaring out in pain as orange energy discharged off of it and partly exploded small chunks of flesh and crystal off it's body. With the Monarch agents, Dupre, Cementoss, and Snipe adding into it's pain by resuming their attacks.
I guess that the Kaiju wasn't exactly used to using that Atomic Breathe like attack or at least in Erika's body if the backlash that I am seeing is of any indication.
As it roared out in pain I could hear it's roars change to Erika's and I could see a vine lacking crystals burst fourth and tried to attack the Kaiju along with a secondary vine.
Erika...she was fighting back, but not for long judging by the Kaiju's roars gaining prominence once more. But it seemed that Erika was not going down yet as both of her vines bit down on one of it's shoulder crystals.
The Kaiju let out an ungodly roar followed by a projection of another emotion that took me a moment to recognize.
Fear, pure instinctual fear.
So it wasn't just the crest, it was the shoulder crystals as well...
Erika's vines went limp and the Kaiju tore them off to reveal a severely dented and battered shoulder crystal. As new crystal covered vines emerged, the fear began to go away as the anger towards me spiked.
It glared at me as orange energy arced off it again as if to charge it's breath attack.
Only for it to let out a startled roar as Agent Gordon rushed forward and slammed a device into the other side of it's jaws. Getting a better look on the device was a visible canister that I recognized from that last time.
"Isn't that the same type of gas as last time, do you really believe it will work this." I asked Agent Aoki as he we regaining his composure.
"Should be, after last time I designed the capsule to hold 1.5 times the gas. The trickier part was making sure that Erika or the Kaiju could not break it easily. Had quite a few near misshaped with that." Agent Aoki said as Gordon shoved the device into the Kaiju's jaw and slammed them shut.
It tried to resist, but Agent Dupre landed on it's back and a loud static bang rang out as the Kaiju's head was pushed towards and Cementoss covered some of it's jaw in concrete as they struggled to keep the jaw close before the device went off. The Kaiju let out a loud growl as it whipped it's vines towards them and broke the concrete covering it's jaws as the agents went back.
The Kaiju reared back it's head and roared, gas leaking from it's maw as it started to attack again. Although it's movements were sluggish, it was still going strong as it turned it's attention back to me.
Only to roar out in pain as an incendiary bullet from Snipe managed to hit one of it's eyes, getting me to wince at the sight.
"Aoki, you know what to do with this. Just don't prime it too early like the last one you made." Gordon said as he shoved a second device into his arms. Looking at it closely it was another capsule like before.
"Considering what happened last one I won't, but I think you should listen to Midoriya. He might have a clue to deal with this Kaiju." Aoki said as he went to work on the device.
"Whatever it is, say it now beansprout." Gordon said with a inquisitive glance as the Kaiju roared out and tried to charge in my direction, but stopped as Agent Dupre managed to blow out a small chunk of it's side with a burst of static noise before jumping back to avoid being struck by some of it's vines.
"J-Just that destroying the shoulder crystals and the crest might break the Kaiju's control over Erika. It worked last time and damaging the crystals seems to weaken it." I said, getting Gordon to not before rushing forward to the Kaiju.
Ducking under a crystal spear the Kaiju sent towards him, Agent Gordon rushed forward and delivered a right haymaker to the dented and battered shoulder crystals. Damaging it even further as the Kaiju roared out in pain.
It tried to retaliate by lashing out with a few vines, with the crystals lining them cutting into his skin and clothes. But Gordon didn't care though, nor probably was able to feel it as he delivered another haymaker to the Kaiju. Severely damaging the crystal even before before a quick jab at the crystal as it's makeshift arm, slashed/bite into the Monarch agent.
For a majority of the shoulder crystal to shatter and the Kaiju let out an agonizing roar that was soon increased even more as Gordon ripped off the end of it's makeshift arm.
Before he stepped back as a few of it's vines turned to attack the Kaiju as it's 'hand' started to grow back as Erika's roars we're starting to be mixed with the Kaiju's own.
With Erika attacking the Kaiju, the Monarch agents where now focusing on furring onto it's remaining shoulder crystal and crest as it tried to defend itself from both them and Erika.
Unfortunately Erika's roars disappeared quickly once again as the attacking vines went limp and the Kaiju cut off the vines and throw them at the Monarch agents. And myself as I had to duck behind the concrete barrier as a pair of vines crashed into it.
Looking past the barrier I saw that the Kaiju's regrown vines had less crystals all over them and a crystal spear it created immediately broke in half before it was launched towards Agent Dupre who broke it before it could land. Along with it's movements becoming more sluggish I would say that breaking the crystals and utilizing the gas was the right way to deal with the Kaiju.
Although it was still going strong as the Kaiju spat out a wad of sap towards the barrier before having to defend against Agent Gordon trying to land a hit on it's crest.
I ducked behind the barrier as the sap crashed into the concrete.
"Midoriya if you see that Kaiju moving or doing anything towards us say so immediately. It will take me a minute or two to get this prepped. If it goes off early you would easy prey for the Kaiju." Aoki said as he work on the device, getting me to nod a little shakily.
The thoughts of what a Kaiju that hates me for a reason I can't figure out while knocked out could do or potentially dying from being suffocated from a mixture of gases meant to put a Kaiju to sleep was not a good one.
Either thought wasn't pleasant at all, but I did my best to push them to the side.
The sooner that the crystals are destroyed, the sooner that hopefully Erika can be freed gpfrom the Kaiju's control. Along with stopping the Kaiju from harming anyone else.
I took a quick look past the barrier and-
"W-We need to move now!" I said as the Kaiju was charging towards the barrier! With a few of it's vines stretching out to bite at me, getting me to run back Agent Aoki.
"Grab the device and hold on!" Aoki said as I ran with the Kaiju's vines kept trying to bite at me before grabbing the device. Aoki began to fly back as the Kaiju broke through the concrete barrier with it's body.
The Kaiju let lose two globes of sap that Aoki barely managed to dodge, before orange energy began to crackle off it's shoulder and spine crystals.
Only for it to roar out in pain as Cementoss approached it used his Quirk to turn the destroyed barrier into a series of concrete spears. They pierced the Kaiju's flesh and one on the struck the shoulder crystal, cracking it a little.
Agent Aoki set us down as the Kaiju pulled back from the spikes, before roaring out in pain as Agent Dupre rushed from behind. She struck the crystal and caused it to fracture even further before the Kaiju forced both her and Cementoss back.by lashing out with it's vines.
He went back to working in the device as the Kaiju focused it's attention back on me and began to charge towards my general direction while still trying to defend itself from everyone. Using it's vines to block anyone from attacking it's crystal before lashing out with it's vines and sap. Seems like it decided to forgo using it's crystal spears in order to defend itself better.
Which was a good thing as it was less likely to be hit by one or shrapnel from the crystals breaking off to injuring someone, but with the vines and sap the Kaiju was still dangerous. Especially if it can fire off that breath attack again.
But considering how it act, it was saving that for me...
Why does that Kaiju hate me so much?
It is projecting it's feelings quite clearly, mainly targeting me, and seemed gleeful at harming me. Along with the emotion it seemed to be directing towards me that I had trouble recognizing it...I think I have a guess, but it's nothing concrete.
Even if I was right, why would a Kaiju feel like that to a human like me?
I was broken from my musings as I saw several blurs race past me and Aoki, striking the Kaiju all at once.
Wait those were Ectoplasm's clones! That meant there's of the U.A. teachers were here now!
"Midoriya are you alright?" A voice asked from behind me, startling me briefly before turning to see Ectoplasm behind me. Creating another clone with his Quirk as the Kaiju impaled one with a crystal tipped vine.
"I-I'm alright." I said, getting the hero/mathematics teacher to nod.
"That is good to hear, I ran ahead other the other's teachers but they should be here in a minute." He said.
"Than I believe we might be able to finish things here soon." Agent Aoki said looking up from the device and I followed his line of vision to see why.
As the Kaiju managed to destroy another of Ectoplasm's clones, Agent Dupre had managed to slip past some of it's vines and landed a kick on the shoulder crystal. Shattering it with a burst of static noise. The Kaiju roared out in pain as she tried to attack the crystal crest, but it retaliated by launching sap at Monarch agent before she rushed out of the way.
There was only one more crystal left, destroying it should hopefully free Erika.
But the Kaiju was still going strong as it began to carve a path straight towards my general direction. Not caring in the slightest as the Monarch agents and Snipe kept firing at it, brushing of the assault from the heros and Monarch agents, and even as I saw several of it's vines began to rip chunks out of it's flesh.
It seemed like at this point that it cared about nothing except for reaching me, we needed to end this soon.
"How much longer on the device?" I asked Agent Aoki as Ectoplasm himself rushed forward towards the Kaiju, creating a pair of clones to help out any Monarch agents that were nearby.
"About a few more seconds, then we can hopefully end this mess. Just keep an eye on the Kaiju for a little bit more." He said, getting me to nod as I went back to observing the Kaiju.
Once again Erika's roars began to fade as the attacking vines went limp and the Kaiju's movements were a lot more sluggish than before. Yet it still wouldn't stop as it tried to defend itself against the heros and Monarch agents.
It managed to defend it's crest from anyone attacking it, until it was blinded by a haymaker from Agent Gordon. He quickly threw another blow that was aimed for the Kaiju's crest.
Yet the Kaiju summoned a white crystal like barrier around it's crest!
Just what else was this Kaiju capable of!
Either way it looked like this barrier was putting some strain on the Kaiju before it brushed Gordon away from it's vines. Dropping the barrier before glaring at me.
Before my head felt like it was going to split all over again as the emotions returned in full force. Looking around it seemed like that most of the agents where feeling it's effects along with Aoki and Ectoplasm.
Enough.
What was that, it sounded like someone was talking but looking around there was no one around Aoki and myself ex-
I struggled not to scream in pain as I clutched my head as the projected emotions intensified even more, with several of the agents copying my actions...
Wait it couldn't be...
"Midoriya we need to get you-" Agent Aoki tried to say, only for the Kaiju let lose a few wads of sap. One striking him directly in the chest and sending him to the ground before a wad hit one of his wings and began to solidify him to the ground.
"Aoki-" I tried to call out to him, but stopped when my head felt like it was going to split open again.
You will not escape again!
...T-That should be impossible...Y-Yet considering that it has been projecting it's emotions nonstop for a few minutes now it wasn't out of the realm of possibility.
B-But right now a Kaiju that was capable of projecting it's thoughts was glaring and charging at me!
"Take the device and run!" Aoki said, as he tried to free himself while drawing his pistol.
He didn't need to tell me twice.
I grabbed it and ran as the Kaiju created a barrier to defend it's crest from being struck by both Agents Gordon and Dupre. Their attacks struggling to break through the barrier before the Kaiju powered through and tried to block their attacks as it chased after me.
You are going not going to escape! The Kaiju roared out as it projected it's thoughts and tried to rush after me, but the heros and Monarch agents were keeping it at bay.
I ducked behind a half fallen concrete barrier after I felt that this was enough distance between the Kaiju and myself. I took a quick look back to see that that the Kaiju was trying to look for my current location as it was still under attack, creating another barrier to block a haymaker from Agent Gordon.
Alright it's busy, it would be best to find another spot around the Kaiju. It was after me and it didn't seem to care at all at who it injured to get to me. The Kaiju has already injured several agents according to Aoki and while he has told me to run...I can't just run while the Kaiju kept injuring anyone else to get to me. Especially with it's hold over Erika.
Besides I still have the device...going to have to find someone to give this too I order to free Erika from the Kaiju.
Maybe one of Ectoplasm's clones or a Monarch Agent, just need to-
I was broken from my thoughts as something grabbed my ankle and pulled me down, trying my best not to let the device fall out of my grip.
If this broke it was all over for me!
I grunted as my back hit the ground and saw one of the Kaiju's vines let go of my ankle and raised itself to slam into me!
Not a second later I backed away as the vine slammed into where I just was before slamming into the concrete barrier. It dented it before the vine began to thrash about.
Given that it had emerged underground the Kaiju was using it's vines to try and search for me.
O-Otherwise it would have tried to impale me like it tried to do to Snipe the last time it rampaged.
P-Probably best to head away from here-
The vine retracted into the hole it made. And it emerged just a few centimeters from my face!
I-I stepped back before the crystal covered vine could scratch at me! Before it tried to lash out at me, forcing me onto the ground with how close the vine nearly struck me! It raised itself in an attempt to impale me!
Quickly I pulled out the makeshift stun device Aoki had made, hoping that this didn't blow up in my hand!
I barely got out of the way as the vine came down, pressing the button on it.
"S-Sorry." I said as jabbed the device into the vine, getting the vine to spasm a bit as I stepped back. Looking at the stun device in my hands, I noticed that it start to spark for a few moments before it stopped.
B-Better keep an eye on that, but for now I needed to get away, As I am certain the Kaiju was going coming in this direction any second.
That and the vine was starting to straighten itself out.
I didn't thought you had it in you Izuku, but it does nothing! The Kaiju's thoughts projected as I felt like my skull was going to split apart as the intensity of it's emotions increased before dying down.
S-So not only is the mental abilities of the Kaiju seem to be growing stronger or more coherent. B-But it clearly knows enough about me possible through Erika.
Figuring out how much awareness this Kaiju has been besides it's possessions could wait til all this is over, but right now I have to get away before the Kaiju attacks with it's vines again!
I began to run away, glimpsing the Kaiju using it's vines to bat away Ectoplasm's clones. Before another crystal vine burst out of the ground and tired to impale me!
Only for it to be cut down by some kind of red blade...wait isn't that.
"I'll be taking that, I suggest that you take cover. This should all be over shortly Midoriya." Vlad King said as he began to reabsorb the hardened blood back into his gauntlet before taking the device from my arms.
"A-Alright." I stuttered out as another vine emerged and tried to snap at me, only for Vlad King to bat it aside.
"Then go!" He said as I took off.
With his appearance then that could mean the other heros had arrived.
So after spending a few more moments running to a half fallen concrete pillar and barely dodging another vine, I poked my head from out behind it to confirm that they had indeed arrived.
They had finally arrived and as Vlad King had said, it did look like things would hopefully end soon.
As the Kaiju was still weathering the effects as it has before for the past few minutes, but it looked like the Kaiju was finally starting to slow down a lot. Besides all of the bullets and tranquilizers, the Kaiju was now enduring blows from Agent Gordon, Dupre, and Power Loader in his suit. Erasure Head working on keeping the vines busy with his capture scarfs and Midnight occasionally releasing her Quirk in bursts before moving away as the Kaiju tried to snap at her with it's jaws.
Looking over to the side of them I saw President Mic rush forward to the side of the Kaiju.
"YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
Before he released a sonic boom that tore a large hole into the Kaiju's side, tearing a massive hole in it's side along with Agent Dupre doing the same in a burst of static. It roared out in pain as it's wounds began to regenerate.
Only to stop as Vlad King shoved the device into it's maw and Agent Gordon to forcefully clasped them shut before the device detonated.
The Kaiju staggered for a few moments it's eyes fell on me and began trying to drag itself in my direction as fast as it could, lashing at with it's vines.
"Stay out of my way unless you want to suffer like Izuku will! " The Kaiju projected out, the sheer emotions behind it nearly splitting my head apart!
"I would think otherwise." Agent Gordon said as he sand Vald King slammed the Kaiju's head to the ground. The hero then using his Quirk to release his blood and solidify it around it's jaws.
The Kaiju tried to break out of their grip, but Power Loader slammed the mechanical arm of his suit onto it's back in order to pin it down. Followed by several concrete pillars created by Cementossto keep it down. While Agent Dupre, Erasure Head, Ectoplasm, and a few Monarch agents were taking care of it's vines while Midnight was releasing more of her Quirk, making sure the mist produced didn't get downwind of anyone else.
For about a minute the Kaiju thrashed about trying to free itself while keeping the barrier around it's crystal crest up to prevent anyone from smashing it. The Kaiju eventually stopped struggling and fell limp with the barrier eventually giving out and the projected emotions started to fade away.
However everyone here knew that it wasn't over and Agent Gordon tried to smash the crest.
But the Kaiju broke apart into whitish spores!
I-It could do that to-
I grunted in pain as a vine reformed and slammed me into the ground before the Kaiju fully reformed and wrapped me up in it's vines.
Before beginning to crush me with them as it picked me up!
Looking at the Kaiju it's skin for the most part was withered away, it's crystals on it's vines and spines were breaking apart. It's makeshift arm was withering away, multiple lacerations opening and healing back up all over it's body irregularly, and over a third of it's crest had broken apart.
Breaking up into spores...must've been a last resort for the Kaiju...
It was getting hard to breathe...and I was having difficulty reaching the stun device through the vines...
"I was hopping to enjoy making you suffer Izuku, but it seems like I will just have to settle on killing you before they kill me." The Kaiju projected, it's emotions blaring once again as it's vines tightened around me even more. "Still I will enjoy this what you have done."
The Kaiju seemed like it was enjoying my pain...as it was using the rest of it's to fire sap at anyone...that came in close to it...
Despite how constricting...the vines are...I could almost reach the stun device. I just need a little more time...and I think I know how.
Along with finally get an answer to a question that has been plaguing me for a while now...
"What have I done to you? I didn't even know you existed until you existed but you went after me then...like you are now. So what have I done...to cause you to hate me so much?" I asked, getting the Kaiju to snarl as the vines seemed to slack just a little bit.
Just a little bit more...
"You want to know Izuku, fine! Besides I don't hate you, no I despise you! Envy you!" The Kaiju projected/roared out as energy began to arc off it's back spines, breaking them down even further.
...What?
"What? Why?" I gasped out as I finally reached the stun device.
So the emotion I could identify was the Kaiju's envy.
Why would a Kaiju be so envious that it would wish for me to suffer so much...
"Simple, Erika accepted you! The two of us are practically the same being, the same memories and everything minus a few years. And what happens when I finally reunite with her, she runs away and tries to kill me! She did kill me! All I wanted was for her to accept me and now she is going to die by me taking her over! I didn't want this to happen at all, but if Erika is going to die than I will make sure you die too!" The Kaiju said opening it's maw as it continued to charge it's beam attack
So that's why...
"T-Then I am sorry for this..." I gasped out as I pushed the stun device against one of it's vines and activated it.
The vine went lax and I did my best to squirm out of it's grasp while leaving the device behind, The Kaiju tried to tighten it's grip on me, but I heard a sparkling sound before the device blew up. Taking out small chunk of the Kaiju's vine as I managed to get out of it's grasp and began to refill my lungs with air.
I-I am so glad I wasn't holding it at the time, but right now I need to get back.
The Kaiju roared as it tried to unleash it's breath attack, before it's spins gave away and the energy began to arc everywhere! I ran back as the energy discharged all around me!
The energy blew up in the Kaiju's mouth, before it collapsed onto the ground.
"No!" The Kaiju projected as it's arm withered and fell of, it's growls growing faint. "I am going down without-"
Whatever the Kaiju was silenced as Agent Dupre blasted a chunk of it's side in a burst of static and Gordon had rushed up behind it, ripped out the remains of the crest.
"That is enough of that. You won't be terrorizing the bean sprout again." Gordon said as he crushed the remainder of the crest with both hands.
I-It was done, with the crest gone and everything it had just been through the Kaiju's hold over Erika should be over soon enough...I just wish it wasn't like this.
"So this is it, you get what you want Izuku...Erika will be back and I'll be gone..." The Kaiju's thoughts projected, the emotions fading away quickly and along with it's thoughts as the Monarch agents and heros began to close in on the Kaiju.
"I-I didn't want-" "Do not give me that! You would know better than anyone else the only way Erika would be saved if the transfusion works and I'm eradicatted! Besides you hate me and would rather be rid of me after everything I did..." The Kaiju interrupted me, snapping it's jaws as the projections were going faint.
...I-It was right. A-At least partially.
There was no way for the Kaiju to survive according to everything I have seen and the tests conducted on Erika's DNA. So there was no way to save it according to them, and I doubted it wanted it to be saved at all.
...After over two weeks I finally get the answers I was looking for and now I don't know what to do with it...except for one thing.
"M-Maybe your right, but I do not hate you." I said surprising the Kaiju. "I-I'm not sure how I feel or what happened with you and Erika, b-but I do not hate you. I-I just wish that there was a way to save you both." I said honestly, getting the Kaiju to growl.
"You are too nice for your own good and I still despise you Izuku..." The Kaiju projected before letting out a low growl, almost as it was a laugh before closing it's eyes."But it is nice to be accepted by someone...and to know that she will be alright..."
The feeling of my skull being split open was gone as the Kaiju's eyes opened once again.
Only this time it was Erika's eyes as she growled weakly before stretching a pair of vines that weakly wrapped around me as Erika tried to pull me closer.
"It's alright Erika, I didn't get hurt this time. So please, just get some rest." I said, tears spilling from the corner of me eyes.
If they were from relief that Erika was alright or for everything that just happened I don't know...but right now I just wanted to see that Erika was alright.
Erika let out a soft growl before she collapsed onto the ground, her vines brushing against my face before they went limp.
It was over, it was finally over...
The Kaiju's rampage was over and Erika was alright...so everything should be alright. But with the situation with the Kaiju and what effects this will have on Erika, it felt everything but alright...
"Just quite your mumbling and let it all out bean sprout." Agent Gordon said gruffly, breaking me from my thoughts. "Nothing about this situation is alright, and nothing will change about it. But let it all out so you can think with a clearer head about this bean sprout. If not just for your sake, than do it for Erika's as well."
"A-Alright..." I said with a nod, trying my best to keep my from breaking down at the moment as more Monarch agents started to come over towards Erika and Power Loader.
Most likely to crake Erika away in order to check on her condition since the Kaiju possessed her once again...meaning her time will be cut short again. The time to find another potential donor before we lose Erika for good...
(Temporary Monarch Base- Three Hours Later)
It had a been a few hours since the latest emergence of the Kaiju and things are still mostly on high alert.
Erika was still unconscious from what I heard, and considering all of the sleeping gas, tranquilizers, and Midnight's Somnabulist in her system she should be out for a while. They had her in her containment cell and the all of the researchers were conducting multiple tests on her blood in order to determine how much time she had left. Alongside any infected blood samples they could have recovered from the training field the Kaiju had ruined in it's attempt to get to me.
And speaking of which thankfully no one was severely injured. There was about 16 Monarch agents with small scrapes and gashes caused while the Kaiju was trying to come after me. If it wasn't so focused on making sure I was too suffer or that they weren't trained fighters things could have gone a lot worse for everyone involved.
Yet security around the headquarters and especially around Erika had increased exponentially with the reveal of the Kaiju's true intelligence and the fact that it might have been aware what was going on while lying dormant.
I did let out everything I had been holding in when the Kaiju was attacking. And Agent Gordon was right in that my head does feel clearer now...although the vision in my eyes are still somewhat blurry now.
All Might had arrived shortly after they had managed to move Erika to her containment cell, the first thing he had done was make sure that I was alright. I told him everything that he probably wasn't filled out on at the moment. Including about the Kaiju...
I let out a sigh as I took a look at the crystal Erika had given me, feeling around the texture of it in my hands.
That was a matter I was still trying to wrap my head around. Like Erika it had hid it's true intelligence, although that might be because it never could emerge despite possibly being aware to some degree. That and it seemed more actively malicious in nature...although that was mainly aimed towards me.
And even what we learned just opened up more mysteries on the Kaiju's and Erika's relationship. It's DNA and admittence to connection to Erika that this Kaiju was created from Erika...and in a way might as well be a duplicate of her. Definitely not an exact duplicate from the carvings Erika made of it and I couldn't even tell if it shared the same gender as all it did was project it's thoughts and emotions, nothing else. There was nothing else to go on, even Erika's hatred for it.
Something which will probably remain a mystery for the time being...
...I find it difficult trying to wrap my head around the Kaiju or what to do about it...except for one thing.
The Kaiju cared for Erika to some extent and knew what that either one of them was going to die.
The infection might not even be a last resort like we had thought it was, maybe just a pure accident as a result of the chimeric nature of their cellular makeup? There was no way of telling for sure, but the Kaiju seemed like it didn't want that.
Which would would partly explain while it seemed so dertimine to make me suffer...even if I was still processing the terms of just why the Kaiju despised me. Given there was hardly anything was known about Erika's time in outer space that is just another mystery, one of which that should be corrected later on.
And brings up something which might not be a possibility on an off chance.
Something both me and the Kaiju both seem keen on is that what happens soon will result in someone dying. Either Erika will be lost and the Kaiju takes over, the Kaiju is purged and Erika is restored to a human form, or there is a chance the transfusion will fail and they both die...
With the result that Monarch has gathered through experimentation with the Shiragami Compound all but confirm it.
That and I am confident the Kaiju probably would not have revealed it's intentions unless it was confident it was going to die or just going to make sure that I would not be among the living once it took over Erika...
I shook my head as from those thoughts, it probably isn't a good idea to think about something like that so soon after the Kaiju's latest emergence.
Either way and as much as I dislike the idea...saving Erika is the priority.
There is way I can think of to separate the Kaiju from Erika along with it being able to possible survive the extraction and even now I don't even know if would want to be saved. It has all but made certain about how much it despises me...
Once it is gone there wouldn't be anything left of it's existence except for the crystals it had left behind, and I am completely certain the Monarch was going to hold onto those ones.
All except for this crystal that Erika had given me...I think I know what I am going to do.
First will to be focusing on helping Erika before asking her for more information on the Kaiju.
Despite her...dislike about the Kaiju and probably wishing to forget all about it. I do know that I probably hold a little bit of the latter statement, but that is an impossibility. The Kaiju was once apart of Erika herself.
Honestly just learning all that I can about it should prevent it from being forgotten.
That and it will help me learn about Erika. There will be a lot to know from what happen considering her years in space.
Along with helping her adjust to Earth after she has regained a human form. She has been gone for nearly 300 years so she will need to catch up on a lot of things that she has missed.
But I can worry about that for later after the meeting that was currently going on.
Right now I was sitting outside of a room that All Might, Director Serizawa, Deputy Director Grant, Principal Nezu, and Dr. Mifune as they were main going over what had happen and what will happen to Erika as Yujiro was in charge of getting those results. Agents Gordon and Dupre were in charge of security with Erika along with the rest of the U.A. staff and Agent Aoki.
I was left out for the events that happened, but All Might said that I would join them briefly before heading home to mom afterwards.
Considering today I was looking forwards to seeing her once again.
It has been quite for the most part, the occasional Monarch employee had stopped to see if I was alright during the wait. I wasn't really...but it was a nice change of pace for so many people to worry about me.
It is something I am not really used to and understandable given the situation...yet it still felt nice all the same.
"Young Midoriya it is time for you to come in, also how long have you been mumbling?" All Might said, breaking me from my thoughts.
"I-I don't know." I said, trying to compose myself. I really need to get a handle on that. "So what is Erika's condition"
I know that maybe it was possible be too much to hope for considering what had just happened. But All Might's sigh dashed whatever hopes I might have.
"Believe me it is better that you hear it from them Young Midoriya. But otherwise Erika is stable according to Dr. Mifune." All Might said, getting me to let out a sigh of relief. "However you might want to brace yourself."
"T-That is something that I have been doing while waiting for this." I said, feeling some dread as All Might opened the door to allow me in.
Inside I saw that almost everyone inside had their eyes on me, except for Nezu who was looking at something on a tablet. I just took a seat as All Might closed the door.
This would be the first time I have been to a meeting like this without Erika.
"Now that you are here Midoriya there is something that you need to hear." Serizawa said with a sigh before he turned to face Dr. Mifune.
"Right, Dr. Tōga is currently busy checking on the blood samples from the Kaiju's emergence and what he has found was that the rate of infection has increased considerably and results are all over the place.. With each new blood sample tested directly from Erika resulting in a different infection rate and all at diffent times." Mifune sighed out.
"So Nezu volunteered to analyze the results as they come in. But while he is still figuring out a general amount of time Erika has left before the infection takes over, what he has so far is shorter timeframe than what we first thought." Graham said grimly, getting me to gulp.
If they were going off the previous rate of infection than Erika should of had a little over three weeks left before the Kaiju fully took hold over her.
Depending on how much time Erika had left, it might even be too late for her... Something that I really hope wasn't true...
"T-Then how much longer does Erika have?" I asked nervously, dreading whatever the results could be.
"Nothing is conclusive yet Midoriya, there are still more tests that are running at the moment or to be conducted to get a definitive answer. But from the look of the results it seems that I can only make a general guess of how long she has left." Nezu said as he put the tablet down while clasping his paws together. "By my estimation Erika has at least 8 days to 11.5 days left before the infection is irreversible. Possibly shorter given the irregularities of the infects report with each test and factoring in the Kaiju it could easily take again, possibly within days. Take into account the different jumps in infection with each successful take over...Erika would only have a few hours left if the Kaiju doesn't fully suppress her if that scenario does comes to pass."
...So that would mean that Erika would only have a little over a week to a week and a half left. And as Nezu described if the Kaiju does decide to emerge again.
Considering it's disposition it will possibly be after me if that does happen...
Still the results were a little better than I had thought at first. That means that Erika still stands a chance at being cured, but there was still hardly anytime left for her to undergo the transfusion as they need to start again in a week.
It would probably be best to start before the deadline for here infection is reached.
And that is why I can assume why they had me wait for this meeting.
"I take it that you want to begin the transfusion as soon as possible." I said, getting Serizawa and All Might to nod.
Figured as much, I was the only potential donor with the greatest chances of surviving the transfusion they had and there wasn't anymore time to find someone else.
"That is correct Young Midoriya, unfortunately it seems like that you will have no more choice in this matter. They are going to start the transfusion tomorrow." All Might said with a sigh, surprising me a little.
I-I had figured that was a definite given that Erika's time was quickly running out. So tomorrow was definitely the best time to perform the transfusion and to get everything set up for it.
Yet with such a short timespan, there was no way I could think of a way to come up with something to tell mom convincing enough. Whatever will happen through the this transfusion she will possibly be unaware if anything does go wrong.
"We know about how you feel about this as you said yesterday, but time is running out for Erika." Graham sighed out.
"And if the Kaiju does manage to make a return Midoriya, I am unsure we could deal with it as we had before, especially if Nezu's calculations are correct and it does become permanent. So for the best we must undergo the transfusion now with the lowest chance of this ever happening."Serizawa said.
"I know that Director Serizawa, I made my choice yesterday and I intend to follow through with it." I said with a small sigh. "T-This is just a little sudden, especially after what happened, but I do intend to go through with this. Just can I see Erika before the transfusion?" I asked, getting just about everyone in the room to smile.
"You didn't need to ask Midoriya, we would have given you the time anyway no question asked." Graham said.
"But for only half an hour before we have to make sure she is unconscious for the transfusion, after which the procedure itself should be undertaken within an hour." Serizawa said, getting me to nod.
Although I was a little disappointed on how short the time is, but time is of the essence for her if we want to successfully return Erika into a human form.
"Now Midoriya I believe that is all for now, for you and Toshinori. We will be seeing you tomorrow." Nezu said getting both me and All Might to nod.
"Let's get you home than Young Midoriya, best you just get some rest after what happened today. Alongside being ready for the big day tomorrow." All Might said with a grin as he opened the door.
"Okay." I said with smile on my face as we walked out of the door.
Today has quite the day I suppose. Especially with everything concerning the Kaiju and how little time Erika has left now. It is going to take me a while to deal with thoughts on the former...
But tomorrow hopefully things will be better.
For tomorrow I can finally keep my promise to Erika, that she will finally be able to regain a human form for the first time in centuries.
(Present Day - An hour and 40 minutes ago - Aldera Junior High School)
Where is All Might? I thought that he was saying that he was going to park somewhere around the school's gates?
Maybe he was in traffic or dealing with some villains once again.
Hopefully he comes by soon, I know that Erika still has a bit of time left but I can't help but be a little nervous. The effects the transfusion could have on me aside, there was still going to be a chance for Erika to die through this. Along with each passing minute brings here closer to the end.
If nothing has changed from Nezu's predictions than she should have a week to 10.5 days left before the Kaiju fully takes over.
Perhaps maybe I am just worry about it too much, especially what happened yesterday. But still I can't help but worrying about Erika with the transfusion being performed today...
"Out of the way shitty Deku!" Kacchan shouted out as he almost pushed past me, along with breaking me out of my musings.
I-It's probably for the best not to think about this in the middle of the school gateway.
I moved to the wall before I spotted All Might's truck as it pulled up. Upon seeing that I took in a deep breath and walked to the passenger side door.
And so if begins.
"Sorry about that Young Midoriya, just dealt with a purse snatcher two blocks away." All Might said as I got in his truck and he started to drive away.
"It's alright." I said, getting All Might to nod. Before he chuckled a little bit.
"Your feeling quite nervous about this, I can tell Young Midoriya. And I don't blame you, especially with the risks involved." All Might said with a sad smile. "My mentor told me the same thing a little bit before I inherited One for All. Probably had the same expression you have right now."
"I am, but mainly about how this will affect Erika and mom. There is still a good chance that she could die. And mom thinks that I am just visiting Erika before she would have to undergo several medical procedures to properly recover. I would hate to think what would happen if something happens" I said with a sigh.
Well it might be partly the truth, neither myself or All Might come come up with anything for a blood transfusion with such a short notice with Erika's new deadline. While there was an inherit danger to myself, I at least have faith that Monarch would lower the risk of that happening.
Still it could happen, alongside mom could notice any changes that might emerge from the transfusion...
"And we will tell her everything soon, alongside the truth of One for All. She does deserve to know. Yet it seems like you have already accepted what this transfusion could mean for you?" All Might asked, getting me to nod.
"I-I have, while I might be a little concerned considering no one has tried this before. But I am more worried about what this will do with Erika. But I do know one thing, I will be with Erika the whole time." I said while smiling, before I felt my face starting to heat up a little while All Might grinned.
Why did I say it it like that!
"I-I mean it be impossible not to considering the transfusion!" I said before taking a breath. "But I have already been so this past month and now she is so close to regaining a human form. I just want to see this through to the end and reassure her that everything will be alright. That we will both be alright through this."
After saying that All Might went silent.
Before he started to do the same bellowing laugh he does in his heroic form, before starting to cough up blood!
"You have truly embraced what it means to be a true hero Young Midoriya! You are truly beginning to become a true hero now!" All Might said excitedly as he began to wipe away the blood leaking from his mouth.
...What?
"What?!" I said in shock.
Did he truly mean it like that.
"It's as I said that you are becoming a true hero Young Midoriya, or at least have the heart of one. I have seen you hold the traits of becoming a true hero since that fateful day. Especially in this past month. But right now you have displayed the trait that my mentor believed was what made someone a true hero." All Might said, his grin wider than I had even seen in his true form. "That a true hero doesn't just save someone's life, but also their hearts. That's why I smile every time I save someone. So when I save someone from a scary situation, it's my way to tell them everything will be a-okay. What you are doing for Erika is not just saving her life, but you are saving her heart. You have been the entire time, but you will be doing both today Young Midoriya especially with help her regain a human form. You will be saving her life and her heart. You have become her hero Midoriya Izuku."
...He was right...All Might was right.
I-I felt my self shaking and my vision getting blurry, but I couldn't care less. I was just too happy.
All Might said I was beginning to become a true hero!
Nine months ago I would have not believed that is such a possibility. Even just hearing it I still have trouble believing it. But All Might truly meant what he said.
I was truly taking my first steps in becoming a true hero like him. With him believing that through being Erika's hero. And once again he was right.
For her I was the first one to give her hope of regaining a human form and being with her the entire way. That was how I saved her heart, and now today I would be saving her life from the Kaiju's infection.
But I could care less about either of that at the moment, despite of how happy I was to hear that.
"W-While it might be true, but I think that I should help Erika regain her human form before I could be considered her hero," I said, getting All Might to shake his head.
"Even if you consider that or not Young Midoriya, you are Erika's hero. And while I was admit that you are beginning to become a true hero, who still need to strive towards it. Young Midoriya you might have all the qualities of a true hero, you lack the experience to properly utilize it. You still have quite a bit ways to go." All Might said, getting me to nod as I tried to compose myself.
"I-I know, I have always dreamed of becoming a hero to saved people. T-That it seems so close to becoming a reality is something I have always hoped for." I said while wiping away my tears. "B-But I still need to work towards it, like I am to inherit your Quirk. There is still so much I need to do and learn."
"Don't you ever forget that Young Midoriya." All Might said with a grin. "If I didn't think your body wasn't ready I would give you One for All right now. But there is still some more progress you need to work on, along with I am unsure how it will react to the changes that you will undergo through the transfusion. I will not risk it."
As soon as he said it, I just winced and nodded. Pushing back the thoughts that briefly flashed through my mind.
Considering that if I inherited his Quirk without the training I would have exploded from the stockpiled power alone. So if we include the uncertainty of what will happen so soon with curing Erika...the results could range from nothing to things better left outside of the human mind except for nightmares.
"So for now just focus on Erika Young Midoriya. Just enjoy what time you can with her before the transfusion. It will be the last time she will see you before regaining a human form." All Might said, to which I just nodded with a smile.
"That was what I was going to do." I said happily.
Even having an idea of what Erika would want to do.
And I did not even care what it could result in for me.
I just want for her to have what will hopefully be her last moments of being stuck in a Kaiju form being happy.
(Outside of Monarch Temporary Base - 42 minutes ago)
It happened exactly like how I thought that it was going to be.
"Erica unhand Young Midoriya!" All Might said in his heroic form as he tried to pry me from Erika's vines, but she just growled at him and refused to let me go.
She hasn't let me go as soon as she saw me over half an hour ago.
As soon as we arrived at U.A. I wanted to go see Erika and it turned out she was outside of the base, not that far from where the lab was. They had quarantined an entire section of the lab so the transfusion can go underway and to house her while her body is undergoing the process of turning human.
Though that didn't really matter much to Erika, as she was more concerned with wrapping me in her vines and nuzzling me for the past half an hour. Roaring happily all among the way.
But sadly the time seemed to have run out and now several Monarch Agents including Aoki we're trying to pry her vines with All Might's help.
"Someone call for back up, because I don't think that she is letting go anytime soon." Aoki grunted out as he tried to use his crowbar to no avail.
She just growled angrily at them and I just sighed.
"Erika please let me go, we need to start the transfusion soon." I said to her.
Only for Erika to roar out loudly and wrapping me up tighter in her vines while nuzzling against me, letting out a series of soft growls.
She didn't really want to let me go...but it needs to happen.
"Please Erika, it wouldn't be long for you at least. But this needs to happen Erika. Just think about it, the next time you will see me you will finally have a human form again. This is something that you have waited centuries for, so please let go. We will be seeing each other again soon." I said with a small smile.
Erika pulled back her head for a few moments, letting out a low growl before lowering me to the ground. However she didn't losses up her vines.
Honestly I should have seen that she wouldn't let go of me, but I know what I must do.
"Please Erika you need to let go, but there is you need to hear" I said, taking a deep breath. "Everything will be alright Erika, I will be alright."
She tilted her head at that before nuzzling against me once again.
"I will be alright Erika and I will be coming to see you again all the time. Waiting for the day you will wake up. And when you do, you will finally be human again for the first time in centuries. The world has changed so much since you left and I can not wait to help show you learn about it. To help you enjoy your new chance on life. So please Erika let me go, it will only be for a little bit and everything will be alright." I said with a smile, meaning ever word of it.
Erika had her life cut short and was brought back to life by her father as a rose bush, only to be turned into an immortal Kaiju in an attempt to preserve her. Her second chance of life was ruined before it even began...
And now she will finally regain a human form and there was still much to help her with. If-
No, when the process to cure her is finished it will be Erika's third chance of life. And I will be there to at least make sure she has the chance to enjoy it this time.
Erika let out a loud roar before unraveling all of her vines except for two of them and brought me close to her head, before nuzzling gently against me and letting go before drawing something in the dirt.
Looking down it was something written in kanji and I felt my eyes tearing up a little what was written.
'Thank you for everything Izuku.'
"Your welcome Erika." I said as Erika let out one more joyous roar and burst into spores, heading towards the base as slipping inside towards the quarantine area.
"Huh, I honestly wasn't expecting her to go directly that way. I suppose she can't wait anymore." Aoki said before facing me. "Anyway need to make sure she is sound asleep before you get there and everything is ready. Hopefully everything will be alright."
"Same here. And Agent Aoki, thank you for yesterday." I said, getting the Monarch agent to nod.
"It's no problem, just doing my job. Still see you later Midoriya." He said with a wave as he began to fly over to the door to the quarantined off area.
"We should go too Young Midoriya, there is a waiting area that Monarch set up for us." All Might said, getting me to nod as we walked towards the base.
While walking there I began to think back on what has happened this past month.
It has been quite the month, it had it's positives like Erika and it's negatives like dealing with Shiten and the Kaiju. But no matter what it might be the best month of my life so far.
All just from meeting Erika...and if I could, I wouldn't change anything that happened during it.
(Now)
"Midoriya everything is ready for you." Director Serizawa said as he and Graham emerged from the quarantined area, breaking me from my musings and just nodded.
It was time.
"We'll be observing the whole time incase anything goes wrong, which hopefully it won't." Graham said as me and All Might stood up and walked towards the doors.
"Hopefully, I will be back with Director Serizawa and Dr. Graham Young Midoriya if anything does happen." All Might said with a smile. "Now you can handle everything from here, but we will be right behind you the whole way."
"I know, and I can't be thankful enough." I said as I looked to the doors and took a deep breath.
No turning back now, time to keep my promise to Erika.
With that I pushed open the doors towards the quarantined lab and towards where Erika will be.
(5 minutes later)
I held back a groan of pain as Dr. Mifune removed the syringe that had just contained the Shiragami Compound. Wincing as I felt a light burning starting to spread throughout my body as Yujiro cleaned up where the needle had been.
"You feel a light burning sensation right now do you?" The hematologist asked.
"It does-" I tried to say, before groaning out in pain as I swore my heart felt like was gripped by something hot before dying down as fast as the sensation appeared. With the burning sensation quickly fading away.
"Then it seems like the Shiragami Compound is now circulating throughout your entire body, the burning should have past right now. The worst of it is when it reaches your heart." Mifune said.
You probably could have told me that earlier...
"So I only have half an hour before the Shiragami Compound goes inherit in my body if I remember correctly?" I asked the two doctors, getting them both to nod. "C-Can I at least see Erika before we begin the transfusion?"
"Certainly, but please don't take too long. The longer the Shiragami Compound stays in your body the faster it losses it's effectiveness." Mifune said.
"Besides just take a minute to stretch yourself, you are going to be having needles in your veins for a while. Both draining your blood and circulating it with Erika's blood. And it will not be a pleasant process." Yujiro said, getting me to shudder.
I already had the experience just now as Yujiro had extracted some more of my blood in order to better compare to future samples that will be altered by this process. And will continue to change with each future transfusion.
Along with Dr. Mifune injecting the Shiragami Compound directly into my veins, something that I will not be looking forward to...
Still I was dreading it, but I am willing to go through with it to finally cure Erika.
"D-Don't worry I will do both, it shouldn't be more than a minute." I said, getting them to nod as I walked past them. Past the transfusion rig that was made for this process and to where Erika was resting.
She was lying down on the ground with her vines limp, seeming almost serene as she could be while sleeping. And I swore that I could see that the ends of her maw were twitched upwards as if she was smiling.
With how close she was to regaining a human form, maybe she was.
She had been put asleep for the transfusion, but she would be kept in what was essentially a medically induced coma due to the effects the process would have on her body. One from which she will not wake up from until Monarch finds that the process has stabilized.
Where she will wake up human, from which no one had a definite answer to than except for it will take at least a few weeks.
Something that I hope will not take to long, but still long enough were Erika can be fully cured before Monarch will have to move it's base off U.A. grounds.
I still have something to say to Erika...but there is one thing I needed to say first as well.
Quickly looking from side to side to make sure no one was nearby before sighing.
"If you can hear me, I know you despise me. But I do not wish it would come down to this. I wish that there was another way to have saved Erika without you dying. I am sorry." I said to the Kaiju lurking within.
It probably didn't hear me given Erika's condition, but I still needed to say that.
While the circumstances around the Kaiju and Erika were still mainly a mystery, it was/is a part of Erika. One that I hope to learn about from here. And one that I wish to learn more about from Erika so that it wasn't forgotten.
"Erika, looks like I will be able to keep my promise. But there is still much to do. You no longer have to suffer like you have anymore. You have all of us to help you when you wake back up, and I can not wait to see you again." I said to her with a small smile before walking back to the doctors. And towards where I would be sitting for the transfusion.
Despite what Yujiro said, I was actually looking forward to this transfusion.
Because this would mean the end of Erika's suffering. After many centuries she will finally be a human again.

Hey guys Mukuro7 here and I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter.
Longest chapter that I have written on Wattpad and took nearly 2 months to finish so I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter.
Anyway I will keep this short.
Next chapter will start a new smaller arc as this one has been finished up. It won't be much as we will finally catch up to canon in chapter 16/17. This arc will cover Izuku waiting for Erika to wake up, a few changes he is experiencing, an old grudge, and a few reveals with some connected to reveals in this chapter before Erika awakens which I hope you all will enjoy when those come out.
That and as for the harem...no new reveals but you have till the end of the arc to send in suggestions.
Also on another note I would like to say this series is one YouTube now. Big surprise there, check it out if you want but it's just a mic only read over for now. Have to thank YOURBOY ONI for putting the story out there, so once again thank you for everything.
Anyway next chapter won't be out til the winter as I have a backlog of updates to cover.
So u til next time, ciao!
