The dark god: To hunt a raven

As the sheets moved, your consciousness was slowly returning to you. Your eyes adjusted to the light as the day seemingly started with no problem

That's when you felt a weight on your chest. A familiar, warm weight

When you looked down, you saw white hair snuggled up against you. You brushed it off the side with care, revealing the face of the one and only Rose Wilson

She looked so peaceful when she...wait, Rose!?

Just the thought of it was enough to make you actually fall out of your bed. This loud thud was enough to wake her up

Rose saw you on the floor, terrified for dear life, and couldn't help but laugh at this

Rose: Morning to you too...

You: W-What are you doing in my room?

Rose: We might have drunk a bit too much last night, you opened a portal to your room and let me stay since, well, I couldn't really stumble all the way there

That... actually made sense

You: Oh...

She sat up and stretched her back a little, revealing that she was still wearing the same shirt she did yesterday. That was a relief

Rose: Yeah, don't worry, we didn't actually do anything like...that

You laughed nervously at this. Not to turn Rose down or anything, but you were still not that close

Before anything else could happen to worsen the situation with her, a flash of red light threatened the entire building

You looked at each other and dropped the act the second you heard Tim's voice echoing throughout the halls

Tim: BRIEFING ROOM. NOW

This was serious

You quickly stood up and motioned her to approach you

You: C'mere. No time to lose

She nodded and stood in front of you, you touched her shoulder and snapped your fingers so that both of you were now in your uniforms

Rose: Thanks. Thought it only worked for you though

You: We've been working together long enough for me to memorize your costume. Have some faith in me, Luv

She just chuckled at this before you both headed out of your room and into the hallways flashing with red light

As you made your way to the briefing room you thought about all the crises Red Robin had summoned the Titans to stop

Some were severe, but none of them required him to use that code red. This one was serious

By the time you reached the briefing room, so did the rest of the team, all of them in uniforms as well. Tim was in the room already, tending to a holographic display of the world

Vic: How bad is it?

Tim: Really bad. We've got multiple emergencies at ones

No kidding, the holographic display of the world showed multiple danger zones, some even from opposite points

Tim: Someone is messing with us, big time. The sun was supposed to be up seven hours ago and instead, we have a crimson moon

As if on clue, he looked at you

Tim: Any idea of what does that mean?

You: Usually it's just a bad omen, but it was also used as a declaration of war

Tim: The other Titan groups offered to help, so here's how we're going to deal with this

For a moment, the lights flickered, which reminded Tim of the first task

Tim: First, there's someone or something, is messing with the power supplies of the main cities. Vic, Static, and I will look into it, we need to keep ourselves online

The hologram then focused on a spot in the middle of the ocean

Tim: A massive creature emerged from the Atlantic and started attacking the nearby islands. Aqualad and Tempest are trying to handle it but we need Beast Boy and Superboy to help them

Conner: On it

Garfield turned into a chipmunk and jumped into the Kryptonian's arms before he flew away from the room

Tim: A gas of unknown origin is sending the people of Los Angeles into a frenzy. Kid Flash and Starfire, you'll team up with Miss Martian and Dove, don't let it spread

Wally nodded and rushed out of the building, followed by Koriand'r

Tim: Rose, you'll team up with Bumblebee and Hawk to deal with the creatures invading the subway system. We'll need it in case of an evacuation or needing shelter

Rose left the room as well, this left Raven and you with Cyborg and Tim

Tim: Y/N, Raven, and Wonder Girl will deal with a weirder crisis. Cemeteries in Mexico, London, and Hong Kong report that their entire "population" is missing

You: So an undead crisis, got it

Raven: We'll get it done

Victor: Good luck

Tim: Be careful. We'll contact you as soon as we can get coms back online

You headed out of the building and looked up to confirm what Tim had said. The crimson moon was reigning over the sky with its ominous presence

There were a few clouds, but the ones present only worsened the situation

Fortunately, it didn't take long for the third member of your improvised squad to arrive. It was the blonde wonder herself, Cassie Sandsmark

It was hard not to smile when you saw her again. You two did bond quite easily on your last mission

You: 'Allo Cassie, good to see you again

She returned the smile, though it didn't last long

Cassie: You too Y/N, although it would've been better if things weren't so...

Rachel: Dire?

Cassie: Yeah

She began to walk away, standing in front of the fountain. She sighed and finally regained the strength to continue

Cassie: Alright, there's three locations and three of us, let's split up to deal with this faster

Both nodded, pondering on the three options you had. With a hand on your chin, you thought about one special location

You: I'm somewhat familiar with London, I could give it a try

Cassie: Dibs on Mexico

Rachel: I'll deal with the Hong Kong situation, then

She opened three portals for you, but before any of them stepped through, you stopped them

You: Wait, I need to do something first. Come closer, please

They trusted you, so they complied. You raised your hands and briefly chanted the same spell that linked your mind with Jen and Kori that time you worked together

Your hands began to glow purple and softly placed them on the girls' foreheads

Soon enough, a purple aura spread all over their bodies before disappearing. Now you were ready to go

Cassie: What was that for?

You: A way for us to communicate while we work on opposite sides of the world

You (thoughts): Just make sure you think of something nice when talking to us

Hearing your voice startled the blonde at first, earning a giggle from Rachel. Once she understood, Cassie smirked

Cassie: Like M'gann's mind link. Nice

You: Alright, good luck to you

Rachel: Be safe

With that, you went your separate ways into each portal. Yours took you to the middle of the rainy night in London

Of course it would be raining. It was like that movie about that one guy that woke up in the middle of an outbreak in London

However, this weather also allowed you to see crimson thunder threatening the skies and fog making it a bit difficult to see

Your communicator buzzed, but when you answered it was nothing but static. This was getting out of hand

You turned around to see an empty street. What was odd was that the cars were still there, even some junk still around too

A woman came across you when running away from another street. She was agitated and even bruised, you stopped her to look at her

You: What happened to you?

Her: Z-Zombies! They're causing an uproar!

You: Do they actually bite? Or are just making a mess?

Her: I-I think they're just destroying. Why?

You patted her shoulder before walking away from her, already preparing some spells

Her: W-Where are you going? It's dangerous out there!

You: Stay out of their sight, this will be over soon

And so, you walked over to the main streets, and fair enough, a huge crowd of undead people was destroying everything they came across. Fortunately, only the people that actually touched them was hurt

These weren't zombies per se. They were indeed reanimated corpses, but they weren't the cannibals you'd believe them to be

Honestly, they were just mad that they had been dragged back to life, but who wouldn't?

So you pushed your way towards a car that gave you the high ground, at least high enough for a majority of the corpses to see you

You: Everyone who is not a reanimated corpse calm down. These people are not going to bite you or anything like that unless you provoke them, so stay away from them

Man: How do you know that!?

You: Just trust me

Then, you raised your hands as high as you could

You: I call upon Zeus's lightning

And sure enough, a blue bolt came from the skies above to meet your hands. It didn't hurt you, but it was loud enough for the zombies to stop what they were doing and look at you

Now you had their attention

Then, you placed a hand on your throat and gently cast a spell on yourself, one that would allow you to communicate to all of them

You: Listen to me, all of you who rose from the grave unwillingly

If any undead doubted you before, that went away the moment you spoke a language that they understood

You: I can help you get the test you deserve, but you need to stop terrifying the people who are still alive. They are not to blame for this

A zombie climbed up the same car as you and looked at you straight in the eye. You tried your best to ignore the putrid smell of his

Zombie (?): Then...who...is...to blame?

You: I am working on it. Don't worry, it will not happen again

With all of its might, the zombie nodded. Barely managed to keep its head from falling off

You: Follow me, walk back to your resting places and I shall do the rest

You stepped off the roof of the car and started to walk towards the cemetery. Lucky you still knew where it was

This time, the crowds of undead followed your every step. The living were beyond words, some were even recording the whole thing

Cassie (thoughts): Y/N? How are you dealing with this?

You (thoughts): It's like the Pied Piper...only with zombies and you leading it. Why?

Cassie: I just gotta make sure these aren't...you know...

You (thoughts): Animalistic, flesh-eating maniacs?

Cassie (thoughts): Yeah, exactly

You (thoughts): They aren't, Luv. Just make sure they return to their graves without harming anyone

Although the same couldn't be said psychologically. They might be following you now, but it was still a giant horde of walking dead roaming down the street

Can't win them all

Cassie (thoughts): Gotcha. How is everything on your side, Raven?

Rachel (thoughts): They are more agile than I thought, but I'm still trying to calm them down

Then, you looked back at the crowd that was still following you as indirectly promised

You (thoughts): Just show them that you can talk to them and are here to help

Yeah, that would do the trick

And so, you reached the cemetery with no casualties whatsoever, at least none while you were in charge. People do tent do overreact when they see a walking corpse

It took way more than it should've, but eventually, every "resident" got back in their grave. You stood on top of a statue and aimed your hands at the graves in front of you

You: Tum requiem

With that, the earth slowly returned them to their resting places and even the grass grew back. It was as if nothing had happened

The graves glowed a faint yellow for a couple of minutes before finally dissipating. The ambient felt much less tense now

Hopefully, they were all returned to wherever their souls went to

Even the fog that messed with you before was dissipating. Once that it was dealt with, you sat on the arm of the statue and contacted the girls

You (thoughts): I'm done, what about you?

Cassie: Same!

You heard her voice outside your head. She was flying your way and stopping right next to you

You:... You're fast

She just gave you a giggle in response before contacting Rachel herself

Cassie (thoughts): Raven? How are things on your end?

Rachel (thoughts): There's something wrong. They think I'm trying to destroy them!

You (thoughts): What? What did you do?

Rachel (thoughts): They claim that someone else told them. They ---

An increasing amount of groans and even growling somehow overtook the conversation, then a sharp pain in the head. The link was severed between you

You held your head in pain and practically fell from the statue, but were saved by Cassie

Cassie: You alright?

You: We lost Rachel, but someone else cut our connection

Slowly, she put you back down

Cassie: How do you know?

You: Zombies can't mess with your mind, Cassie

Cassie: Let's go to help her then

Without further due, you opened a portal to Hong Kong and took out the sword that had been stored in your back this whole time

It hadn't been needed, but you just might this time

And so, you came out of the portal and saw the aggressive hordes still rampantly destroying the streets. This one was vastly superior in numbers

You: Get the civilians away from them

Cassie: On it!

She flew into the scene and quickly got to work. Meanwhile, you used the same spell as before to talk to the undead

You: Hear me, those who's honor was stained by disrespecting their rest

They heard you alright, and now they were rushing at you. In preparation for this, you slammed your sword to the ground and set off some sort of barrier while you continued to speak

You: Whoever tried to trick you before lied to you, to all of you. We are here to aid you back to sleep, but we cannot help if you don't cooperate

Zombie:...How do we know... you're not...lying

You got your sword back and removed the barrier

You: Here, you can trust me

They saw you willingly expose yourself to their attacks. They understood what this gesture meant

You: The people in this city are not to blame. Follow me and I shall take you back to sleep

And so began the same act as in London, but this time you looked at Cassie, who had rounded the civilians

You: See if you can find anything regarding Raven while I do this

The blonde nodded and headed back to the streets. The family she was defending quickly held on to her, begging her not to leave their side

Cassie: It's okay. You are safe now, they will leave

Her reassuring tone was enough for them to leave her, although reluctantly

Cassie started looking around for clues and sure enough, she found more than a clue

In the middle of the street, she spotted a familiar cloak moving with the winds

Cassie: Raven?...

She quickly flew towards but when she got to it, the girl discovered that it was just the cloak stabbed with a metal spike that was coming from the damaged street

This was a message

Immediately, she grabbed the object and flew towards the cemetery you had gone off to. By the time she arrived, you had already put the dead back to sleep

Cassie: Y/N! I found this

She handed you the cloak, tattered by the looks of it

You: Bloody hell...

???: Zzzzt...Y/N? Y/N can you hear me? It's Cyborg

You picked up your communicator, they must've fixed the issue with the light

You: I'm here, Cy

Cyborg: Finally, we've been trying to reach Raven but she doesn't answer. She just...vanished! Any ideas?

Cassie and you looked at one another with a saddened gaze, already knowing the answer

You: She was taken, Cyborg

Cyborg: What? By who?

You felt the fabric and soon enough felt a trace of corruption. This corruption was similar to the one you had faced back at S.T.A.R labs

You: I think I have a clue. Cassie and I will deal with this, keeping you updated

Cyborg: Just be safe, alright? It's hell out there

You: You have no idea, Vic

With that, you put the gadget away and continued to examine the piece of clothing

Cassie: Who did this?

You: An Amazon, she goes by the name Kalliope and is basically Enchantress's hitwoman

Your ally was taken back by this. Amazons were an honorable raze, they wouldn't dare do something like this

You: I know, it's shocking, but for the moment we need to f-

???: I know where your friend is

A monstrously deep voice announced from behind you. Both of you jumped at this sudden appearance

However, when you turned around, you spotted the familiar face

...of a friend

You: Swamp Thing! What are you doing here?

Cassie: You know this creature?

She kept her guard up, ready to strike first if not for you talking to it

You: Yeah, he's family

Then, you looked at the hulking being in front of you

You: You said you know where Raven was?

Swamp Thing: I do. The Amazon's presence disturbs the Green more than any of the other current problems

You: We'll deal with it, right Cass?

You glanced back at your ally, who was still processing the whole "corrupt Amazon" thing, but when she heard your voice, she nodded

Swamp Thing: You are a friend to the Green, Y/N L/N. I trust you to deal with this

Then, he raised both arms and vines started to surround both of you, carrying you towards another location

When they disappeared, the secret place revealed itself to be a forest in Alaska. Here again?...

Swamp Thing: I cannot assist you with this. As I said, this is urgent, but other crises require my help

You: That's alright. Thank you for the transportation, Swamp Thing

The monster nodded in agreement before he slowly started to dissolve and turn back into roots and vines

You snapped your fingers so that a small flame hovered above your hand and got close to Cassie so that she could be warm too

Cassie: Thanks. Now what?

You looked around until a familiar railroad came to view

You: You remember that, don't you?

Cassie squinted her eyes and spotted the construction soon enough. You took our your communicator and started typing something

You: Cyborg, Y/N here, I'm sending you our coordinates

Cyborg: Don't tell me that...

You: Yup, we're going back there

...

You entered H.I.V.E's research facility through the busted doors. It was hardly the same place that it was when you attacked it

No, it didn't even have electricity. The cold wind ran a mock and left traces of snow in the otherwise metal base

The machinery had long been forgotten too. Nobody had been in this place in a while...until now, that is

The only sources of light were the flame on your hand and Cassie's own glowing lasso

Cassie: This place...was it ever this creepy?

You: Last time we weren't here the sky wasn't red blood, Luv

Cassie: Fair enough

Then, something moved behind you, then above you, between the machines. They were everywhere

You two took notice of it and got back to back, covering most angles.

You: Alright, enough with the game of shadows

You shot a fireball at the ceiling, allowing you to see a crowd of both undead and demonic entities surrounding you

Cassie: Are those...

You: Yeah, the bad guys

Once spotted, the creatures got closer and closer to you, to the point that they were now surrounding you

You took out your sword and held it close, Cassie raised her fists ready for a fight

From the crowds, emerged Kalliope herself, now sporting some sort of armor and with the hilt of a sword on her hip. As she did, the grip on your own sword tightened

Kalliope: I was wondering when you'd show up

You: Right back at you

Cassie peeked behind you to see your enemy with her own eyes

Cassie: So you are the famous Kalliope

The redhead then spotted Wonder Girl and showed her sinister grin

Kalliope: And you're the impostor Amazon

Cassie: The what!?

Of course, she would be offended by this. You stopped Cassie by placing your hand on her shoulder

You: Priorities

Her blue eyes met yours and she sighed reluctantly, knowing you were right. Your numerous enemies started to move slightly, you could tell they were getting ready

You: Find Raven, try sublevel thirteen like last time

You ordered without looking away from Kalliope, but also catching Wonder Girl off-guard

Cassie: Are you sure? They...they're a lot

You: Can you lend me your lasso?

She didn't want to comply, especially when she saw how many of them were out there, but she saw just how determined you were about it, so she was left with no other choice

Cassie: Don't die, alright?

She gently placer her hand on your shoulder and gave you her lasso before flying away

Kalliope looked at her left and smiled as you stored the lasso in your belt

Kalliope: Don't let her reach the cells

And so, a small portion of the army rushed to the same door Cassie had used, only to be met with a scorching blaze that left nothing but ashes. This blaze, being cast by you

You: You're not getting past me

The Amazon found herself amused by this, her laughter echoed throughout the room for a couple of seconds before she calmed down

Kalliope: Fine...

From her hip, she grabbed the hilt of a sword

Kalliope: Have it your way

She twisted the hilt and soon enough a raging flame took the form of its blade. She raised the weapon and then aimed it at you, her glowing red eyes staring you down

This was enough for the legions of monsters to attack you. You nailed your own sword on the ground once again to create a barrier that they couldn't get through, despite multiple attempts at it

You used this time to chant something over the blade, which in turn made F/c colored glyphs appear on it. Then, Kalliope jumped at you with her blade ready to destroy your barrier

You dodged just in time, but still felt the heat coming from that thing

You: Where do you bad guys get your stuff? Oh right, you stole them like my bloody watch

Kalliope swung at you with her flaming sword, you sidestepped and attacked, but your sword took out a demon that stepped in. So that's how it was going to be

You swung again and again but either the Amazon dodged or a monster took the hit for her. that's when you decided to even the odds

Your eyes began to glow as a red circle with glyphs appeared in front of you

You: Venite ad me aranea

And so, from the glyphs emerged a giant spider that started to tear everything in its way

Kalliope: I got one of those too!

She whistled, making a giant hellhound rush in to attack your spider. While the beasts fought, you took the opportunity and swung straight at Kalliope, only to be stopped by...her armor? Okay, this was getting ridiculous

She caught the blade and took the opportunity to suffocate you, almost made you drop the weapon too, but then you hit her using your elbow with enough force that she let you go

Your swords clashed again and again and while the demons tried their best to get a hold of you, they'd either be burnt or electrocuted thanks to your coat being more enchanted than a haunted house

When your sword met Kalliope's for the last time, however, the redhead applied more pressure than list time, earning a monstrous roar from the blade as its fire slowly melted through your own weapon

You couldn't understand how did it happen so fast. This weapon was forged with some of the world's best metals and yet, that sword cut through it like butter

Now the only thing that remained from that precious gift was the damaged hilt

Before you could even react, your opponent kicked you away with enough strength to force the air out of your lungs

That would leave a mark

You tried to get back up, but a demon quickly got a hold of your hand, followed by the other two and some more for the other arm. Your coat was good, but not that good

Fortunately, there was a loud noise nearby, the familiar sound of a Boom Tube, and from it came a green tiger

This was enough distraction for you to punch one of the demons and kick the other, getting back your arms and chanting something that burnt the others that were still trying to hold you down

Kalliope realized this and swung right at you, only for you to duck and blast her away with a particularly resentful bolt of energy

The green tiger then ran towards you and shifted into a gorilla

You: Didn't expect to see you here, mate. Weren't you fishing?

Garfield: Done with that, right now we gotta save Rachel...are you alright?

He saw your fists clenched with force, even steam coming from them

That bastard just destroyed the only thing that reminded you of your home, being blasted off like that was the least she deserved

You: Focus on the horde. Wonder Girl is fetching Raven while we hold the line

A chunk of metal flew past you as Kalliope smashed her way back into the fight

Time for round three

You: Take care of the giant dog, I'll get the redhead

Garfield: And the army?

You: Avoid them as best you can

Beast Boy agreed, shifting into a monkey to make his way through the army. Kalliope's sentient armor caught on this and trapped your friend's leg

Kalliope: You're not going anywhere

But then, that same metal tendril was cut clean by an energy disk

You: Yes, he is

Now in the form of an octopus, the green teenager began his assault on the hellhound, leaving you with the rogue Amazon once again

Kalliope: Didn't your sword suffer enough punishment?

You: I don't need it to beat the everliving crap out of you

She laughed and charged at you once again, stabbing her sword into what seemed to be you, but turned out to be a mirror replica that when shattered, all its fragments were sent flying towards her

While the metal armor was able to deflect most of them, one shrapnel did cut her cheek

Then, from the broken mirror, you emerged and threw a fireball that forced her back. Kalliope immediately lunged her sword, only for you to sidestep and punch her with your right arm, which had the lasso wrapped around her

This sent a discharge of electricity that effectively hit the redhead. She screamed in pain but still reached out to you

It was here that a portal sent her crashing to the middle of one of the machines

Sweat fell down your face from all the effort you were putting in this, but there was barely any time to breathe as a skeleton tried to bite your face off

You caught its chin and set it on fire, throwing it at another monster that tried to attack you. Then you swept the leg of another and unwrapped Cassie's lasso to spin around and electrocute every bastard that tried to hurt you

Looking to your right, you caught a glimpse of Garfield fighting for his life while the hellhound tried to crush him with its jaw

And so, you ran towards him, taking down any enemy that tried to stop you before you wrapped the hellhound's legs with the lasso and pulled to the left, sending another electric discharge at the beast

This forced it to drop Beast Boy. He took the chance and knocked it out as an elephant

Garfield: Thanks

Out of nowhere, he was pushed to the other side of the room, before you could react, Kalliope returned and this time it was too late to try and dodge. You felt her sword pierce your shoulder

You cried in pain as you fell to your knees, the damn thing was burning you

Feeling victorious, she kneeled in front of you

Kalliope: Out of all my enemies, you put the most fight

You just smirked at her and got a hold of her wrist

You: I summon Etrigan's hellfire

This quickly set the Amazon on fire, thus forcing her away from you. You took the sword off your shoulder and quickly cast a healing shield around yourself

It wouldn't restore everything, it just held you together for three more minutes

Kalliope was able to put the fire off, but it had taken a toll on her. Growling, she looked up at you and raised her arm yet again but this time...

This time Cassie flew towards the scene like a bullet and made sure to send Kalliope as far as possible. The impact itself created a shockwave

Cassie: You alright?

Weakly, you gave her a thumbs up

You: And Raven?

Cassie pointed at the hole she made when she entered the scene and saw the goth leaning on a wall. She was beaten and even showed a few bruises

It was a sight for sore eyes, but you weren't that far either. This battle was quite the challenge

You tossed Cassie back her lasso and she used it to trap the injured Kalliope. The punch was so strong even the sentient metal armor had a dent now

But the army was still there, however. All of them staring at you, eager to make the next move

You picked up the hellfire sword when Rachel decided to step up, despite her weakened state

Rachel: Enough of this... Azarath Metrion Zinthos

For a moment, Rachel started to float and let a powerful blast of energy towards the army and singlehandedly managed to erase them

...so that's why they went after her

Shortly after this demonstration of power, she groaned in pain and threatened to fall if not for a certain green gorilla

Garfield: Easy babe, I gotcha

???: I...I can think for myself

A barely audible voice behind you announced. When looking for the source, you discovered Kalliope herself, but she was... different

Her eyes were no longer glowing with a blood-red color. Instead, they were a normal brown and even her aura died down

It was as if she had been liberated by something. Once her eyes met yours, her breathing started to become erratic

Kalliope: Y/N listen to me... You've got to listen to me!

You kneeled to her height and placed your hands on her shoulder to get her to relax

You: I am, I am, clam down

Then you glanced back at Cassie

You: How hard did you even punch her?

She shrugged in response to this, then you returned your attention to Kalliope, choosing to play along

You: What do you have to say?

Kalliope: The book... the book is the source of all of this

Cassie: Where is it?

Kalliope: Staten Island

As soon as you heard this, you picked up your communicator. This was the key to stopping everything

You: Vic, are you there?

Cyborg: I am, what's up?

You: We got the location of the source. An  enchanted book in Staten Island, search and destroy

Cyborg: Leave it to us

You stored the device and got a closer look at the captive Amazon. She had a remorseful gaze

You: Why are you telling this to us?

Kalliope: I...I am not who you think I am, I act against my... against my w-Aghhh!

She fell down, crying in pain and even starting to cough. Immediately, Cassie decided to knock her out

Well... that's one way to stop this

Cassie: What? You saw how strange she was getting

You: Let's just get her to the Tower. It's bloody freezing out here

Garfield called upon a Boom Tube and carried Rachel through it while Cassandra took the unconscious Kalliope. You didn't follow immediately, but rather stopped to recover the hilt of your sword

Maybe you could get someone to restore it later

...

"The other Titans are dealing with the book as we speak. Rose and Wally are helping them too"

Tim reassured you whilst Kori finished adding the bandages that covered the remains of your wound. It still hurt every time you moved, but at least it had stopped bleeding

You: Thank you, Kori

She smiled and gave you a peck on the cheek before leaving the room. You were currently in the Tower's medbay

Next to you was an unconscious Raven, she was fine, just exhausted. Turns out that there were still more crises going on despite you giving them the location of that cursed book

However, it wasn't in vain, now the Titans saw this decrease in threats as a chance to regroup before going back out there. They also wanted to be present when you brought in the Amazon

Currently, it was only Tim and you talking. Cyborg was coordinating the other teams

Tim: Thank you for, well, everything you've just done. Finding the source of the problems and also bringing one of the culprits is no small feat

You: All in a day's work, Mr. Robin. By the way, how is she doing?

Tim: She hasn't said a word since you brought her. She looks so docile, did you put a tranquilizing spell on her or something?

You: Cassie knocked some sense into her...literally. I'm hoping to talk to her and see if I can help her

The former Robin leaned against the bed that was next to yours

Tim: How so?

You: She said her hand was forced. I know by whom, I just want to free her first and see if she can help me with her "boss"

Tim was a wise man, he knew what threats he could take, and before your arrival, he could take on almost everything but now, he knew that magic was a whole different beast

One that was perhaps left for other magic users to deal with. This didn't mean he wouldn't do anything to help, though

Tim: What do you need us to do?

You: The Enchantress will most likely come up with a crisis to keep us distracted. Please keep the people safe while I go after her

In another part of the tower,  Conner, Garfield, and now Kori were guarding the cell that Kalliope was now using

Kori: How is the "guest" doing?

Conner: She hasn't said anything, just stared at us the entire time

And it was true, despite being able to speak, Kalliope just looked at them with teary eyes

Conner: Is she... crying?

Koriand'r then turned to see Garfield

Kori: Gar? Any ideas?

Garfield: Back when we found her, she said something about being controlled. I wouldn't trust her, but it could be true

This struck a nerve from Conner. He was all too familiar with being forced to act and found Garfield's lack of empathy towards it irritating

He stood up and pointed at her while facing the other two

Conner: So you're telling me that we're holding her here while the actual culprit is still out there?

Kori: Conner, I'm sure Y/N has a reason to keep her contained like this

Conner: Or maybe he doesn't trust her enough to let her act on her own

Garfield: Dude, she literally kidnapped Raven and tried to kill both of us multiple times on her own

Conner: Yeah, because she was forced to!

The redheaded Amazon watched the discussion unfold from across the glass that kept her in the room

But that's when a black hand took over her, covering her mouth which was now leaving terrified screams. She didn't want this to happen, to be taken over by the bloodlust once again

She even tried to shake off her restraints to get away, this only served to get the attention of the three Titans

Kalliope inhaled sharply before seemingly shutting down

Conner: What the- what happened to her?

Garfield: Dunno, but maybe we should tell Y/N

Kori: On it

She flew away from the room. At the same time, a grinning Kalliope looked back up at the other two

Kalliope: Awaken, From your deepest slumber

Conner: What is she saying?

Kalliope: The intoxicating taste of blood

Garfield turned into a gorilla when he spotted an ominous detail about her

Garfield: Her eye s are glowing red, this isn't her!

Meanwhile, Kori did her best to reach you in the infirmary. It wasn't quick since they were practically on opposite sides of the building

Kalliope: The craving for death

The Tamaranean princess could hear the ominous words echoing through her mind even if she was away from the containment block

Kalliope: The crimson glory of the hunt

She had finally reached the hall that led to the infirmary. She wasted no time and knocked on the door

Kori: Y/N? We need you to look at-

Kalliope: I summon thee

Yes?...

Your voice could be heard from the other side of the door

You were expecting an answer from your friend, but instead, the door itself was blasted open with green energy

Tim and you had barely any time to avoid the explosion

When you looked at the entrance, you saw a Starfire with raging energy emanating from her hands and eyes not green...

But red, blood-red
