░ Chapter Seven

Jimin and Taehyung clapped when they saw Hoseok come out with a grand entrance in one of the trash chutes, doing an extravagant pose as he held the  Beauté Rose up high. While approaching the two, he shook his ass and did some weirdass dance that oddly still looked good, especially that the man was an actual dancer.

Jimin laughed along with Taehyung. He tried focusing his mind on the happy moment in front of him but the image of the handsome stranger named Yoongi kept on appearing. He wondered what the man was thinking right now.

He had recognized their group, so he must be affiliated with someone from the police department or...affliated with one of their victims. Oops. Jimin hoped it was not the latter.

"Good job, team. Now proceed to Phase 9," Namjoon said. "You need to get out of there as fast as you can. Mochi, we have to talk after this."

Jimin winced at the last part. The three of them walked out where they came in earlier. The guard who was reading a newspaper nodded at them.

"What's down there?"

"Some dead animal, turns out. We already took care of it," Hoseok was the one who answered.

"Ah, that's nasty. Let me know if you need anything, boys."

"Thank you!" Taehyung shouted cheerfully as they passed the gate. They were lucky the guard in that post was friendly and not dubious of them.

Jimin's mind was still filled with the thoughts of Min Yoongi when they reached the car and drove back to their place.

"I'll display this in our room," Taehyung said as he and Jimin gathered around the pink artifact.

Jimin nodded excitedly and reached out to touch the pink diamond with his index finger. It was so beautiful. The diamond was embedded in a flat, oblong rock. Jimin touched the rock surrounding it and it also felt smooth. The person who designed this must have been so keen on the details.

"Look at the sides of that thing," came Hoseok's voice as he approached them. He joined them and sat on one of the stools by the table. "There's some weird engraving shit at the side. You won't notice it at first, but when you take a look at it closely, you'll see it."

Jimin and Taehyung's head moved closer, resulting to them bumping each other's forehead. They giggled and rubbed the sore part of their heads.

"I wonder what these marks mean?" Jimin whispered as he observed the object closely.

"Maybe a secret message from aliens?" Taehyung suggested.

Jimin nodded in agreement. That could be a possibility. "How can we decipher this? Do you think we should hire some kind of alien expert?"

Taehyung opened his mouth, brow furrowed in seriousness and seeming to suggest something in response to Jimin's question, but Hoseok beat him to it. The older man laughed so loud, making Jimin and Taehyung turn to him with frowns on their faces.

"You two are so cute," Hoseok said in between laughter.

Taehyung narrowed his eyes. "Why do I feel like that wasn't a compliment? Aliens are real and it's a fact!"

"It's not, dumbass hamster," Jungkook inserted as he passed by. He sneered at the frowning Taehyung and rolled his eyes. "I wonder why your brain only works during our heists. Does it have an automatic on and off switch?"

Jimin chuckled while watching the scene in front of him unfold. Hoseok chuckled with him.

"Hey! Between the two of us, it's you who looks more like a hamster. Plus, Jimin and I both believe in aliens. Why are you only bullying me?"

Before Jungkook could retort, Namjoon walked towards them and called Jimin's name in a loud and stern voice. They all turned to their leader and went silent, especially Jimin. He wanted to smile sheepishly but it was not the time to be foolish. He bit his lips and tried to glance at their leader's serious face.

Oh no. He looked too serious. He never looked this serious, or mad for that matter, whenever he's about to reprimand Jimin. He wondered what's up this time. Could it be because Yoongi knew them?

To think of it, who was Min Yoongi? And why did he know about BTS? Or at least, their symbol?

"Hyung!" Taehyung quickly inserted himself between Jimin and Namjoon.

"What is it, Tae?"

"U-Umm, Jimin and I are planning to get the supplies that you ordered from Heechul, so..."

"Why not bring Hoseok instead?" Namjoon replied with a raised eyebrow.

Jimin smiled. Taehyung would always try to save him whenever Namjoon was about to tell Jimin off. He loved his best friend to the moon and back.

"B-but! I want Jimin to come with me!" Taehyung insisted with a pout.

Namjoon tilted his head and sighed. "Tae, please, I need to speak to Jimin. It's important."

And it was indeed important if Namjoon's tone was to be the basis. Hoseok and Jungkook glanced at each other, equally curious since they don't usually hear this tone from their leader, even in the most serious moments.

"Well, I should be part of that discussion! I'm your brother and he's my best friend. I'll be like, the middle-man."

Namjoon looked like he was about to relent, but he pursed his lips and shook his head at his hopeful brother. "I need to speak to Jimin alone about this one, Tae. You know that."

Taehyung's lips begin to pout and his eyebrows furrowed, seeming to be both in rage and sadness. Jimin chuckled inwardly at his best friend.

"Tae, it's okay. You don't have to come with us. I'll come out alive, don't worry," he said with a smile, even though he did feel a little nervous because they all haven't seen their leader look this serious.

Taehyung proceeded to scowl heartily at his hyung. "Don't you dare hurt my Jimin or you'll face my wrath."

Namjoon sighed, not even pointing out the disrespectful tone. "Tae, we're just gonna talk-"

"I trusted you, my brother. But you took away the most important thing in my life. Tell me, what am I going to do without my Chimchim? What-"

"Just let me know if you need help in tying up this dumbass bambi, boss," Jungkook interrupted, making Taehyung turn to him sharply.

The boy was about to open his mouth, probably to retort something, but Jimin beat him to it. At this point, he just wanted to be done with the scolding since their leader already looked so done. It was hard trying to suppress his smile though and look serious, what with Taehyung pouting and stomping his feet.

"I'll be okay, Tae! I'll shout for help if Namjoon-hyung starts strangling me."

"Yah!" their leader shouted, indignant. As Hoseok laughed with no end, Namjoon shook his head and continued speaking. "But really, I need to speak to Jimin now."

It was a good thing that Taehyung got too busy glaring at Jungkook that he had not noticed Jimin and Namjoon leaving. Namjoon would always prefer to speak to Jimin in the makeshift office that he had in their headquarters. Upon arriving there, Namjoon closed the door and locked it.

Jimin raised his eyebrow at that.

When their leader finally turned and faced him, his eyebrows were furrowed and he looked at Jimin with intensity in his eyes. He didn't look angry, though. He just looked...serious. And disturbed.

Which was unusual for their calm and confident leader.

"So..." Namjoon started. "You had fun?"

Jimin winced at that. Namjoon didn't sound sarcastic or reprimanding, but his words reminded Jimin that yes, he fucked up once again. And yes, it's because he couldn't stop his urges.

"I, uh..."

Namjoon sighed. "We both know that's not really what we're here for."

Jimin nodded. "You're not here to reprimand me, are you? You wanted to ask about the guard?"

Their leader nodded. "If I heard it right over the earpiece, he asked about your tattoo. He recognized it, Jimin. Do you at least have any idea why?"

Jimin shook his head and bit his lip. Namjoon looked worried, so it's making him worried, too.

"Were you able to get his name?"

"Yeah... Min Yoongi."

There was a sudden pause as Namjoon stared at him, face void of any expression the moment the name left Jimin's mouth.

In the next second, Namjoon was turning around and opening the door, seeming to be in haste. "Come on, we need to have a meeting."

A meeting?

Jimin struggled to keep up with Namjoon's pace as he trailed after the man. Everyone turned their heads when they saw them, including Taehyung who clapped happily upon seeing Jimin whole and alive but frowned quickly when his eyes drifted to his hyung.

"Is there something wrong, boss?" It was Jungkook who dared to ask.
