I stroked the wolf's ears shedding tears as I couldn't just take it in. Accept the fact that I have killed a life. I glanced at the lifeless body laying on my lap. I touched the place where I punched him. 

I still couldn't believe it. I didn't even use my elemental powers and yet became a murderer. I had a lot of bruises but not even a single cut.

"I am sorry" I managed to mumble...I know nothing can change what has happened. I wish I could do something. I wish I wasn't a coldblooded, heartless murderer. And it was the first time I saw it happen. My fingers tingled as the blue light glowed from my hands. 

It went to a point where I thought I'll pass out as I felt my life force sucked out of my body. The open blood wounds on the wolf's body started healing and I finally understood what was happening. I never thought I could heal wounds. I heard a grumble from the wolf's body which started me to death. It was in pain and agony. How I knew it was a surprise. I heard a growl as the blue light came to stop. But it sounded normal and out of pain. I felt dizzy more like falling into a deep sleep but I tapped my head to stay awake. 

The wolf rose from my lap with low growls. I stared at the wolf which was triced my size. It turned around to stare into my eyes. It growled again but this time louder.

"Shh.." I said kneeling on the ground. It growled but yet walked closer to me.

"I won't hurt you now," I said. It kept staring at me before walking another step closer to me.  I moved forward and it paused a while before it took another step, closing the distance between us. I placed my hand in the side of its jaws while it snuggled closer to my body. 

"I am very sorry," I said sincerely.

"I never wanted to hurt you like that" It looked at me surprised for a moment before it nodded its head, I felt half the weight lift off my shoulder. It stepped back before being consumed into purple glitter. A girl stood in the place of the wolf.

"I was waiting years for your arrival, Evelyn," She said before bowing her head and kneeling. I watched her in pure shock. she had black hair and silver eyes. She was in a long black coat.  I stood frozen as my brain refused to work.

"Who are you?" I managed to force out. She looked at me amused.

"I am Livia. The hound, Guardian of Liva, and the ember of Spex. " She stated.

"You are different than others. No one ever has tried to heal or apologize" She continued.

"They don't?" I asked. They would have.... at least mom, or Izzy would have.

"No, they don't. So I give them their instructions in the form I chose to attack them." I nodded my head.

" All you have to do is cross the bridge and you'll get your Spex. We will meet again then. We have a lot to talk about,"  And just like that, she disappeared in thin air.  What was I expecting? I should have been ready to face anything. I took a deep breath and one side of forest cleared forming a bridge and the land broke down leaving lava int the bottom. And the bridge didn't seem so strong. I took a deep breath walking towards it. 

Getting a Spex is testing how my mom raised me. I kept reminding myself. I have no idea how many challenges I am gonna face. Livia told me I just have to cross it to get my Spex.

I stood at the entrance of the bridge. The temperature was so high as the bottom boiled with lava. Sparks of fire flew in the air. I stepped on the bridge. As soon as I did that the rest of the forest disappeared leaving me in the middle of the endless bridge with molten lava about 50 feet below it. 

"You've made your choice. There's no returning. No going back" A deep voice echoed. It was a dark and deep voice. I spun around to look at the source but nothing was there. It's not like I'm planning on going back. I started moving forward.

"Seems to me that you are brave. But I doubt you'll cross the bridge." His voice was right behind me. I slowly turned around to see a guy with golden eyes and a long coat similar to Livia. His hood covered his face leaving his eyes, the only visible part. His eyes were glowing just like mine. 

"Do you wanna cross the bridge?"

"Yes," I stated firmly.

"Well then, Fight me"

"What?"

"You are free to cross the bridge if you win me but if you lose you will have to give me that," He said pointing to my mom's pendant.

"No! I'll not give it!!" I almost yelled. It is the only thing I have of my mother. 

"Then you'll have to win me. There will be three Rules in this fight. Number one, You are not allowed to use your powers. Number two, If you use them then you will be sent back to your place and you will lose your rights to try again. Number three, you will give me that pendant if you lose. Is it clear?" I don't wanna lose my mom's pendant not do I wanna go back without a Spex. So my only option is fighting.  Fighting with all I got. I nodded my head. I think I am the only one who is not allowed to use my powers as his hands started glowing.

He shot a beam of light. I move with my speed. I was behind him. I kicked him but before I could move away he caught my arms and threw me in front of him. My spine wobbled in pain. I think I broke my ribs as the pain was all I felt but my healing kicked in. 

It took me a second to recover but he took advantage of it and threw me straight at the fence of the bridge. by back hit the uneven surface with a heavy force. I spit blood and my nose started bleeding. I stood up forcefully as my body was healing. Still, the pain was unbearable. He walked forward to hit me again. I stood there smirking as I looked straight into his eyes.
