~~~Catherine's P.O.V~~~

I narrowed my eyes on the orb. This job was going to be a lot harder than I thought it was. To think... dragging this kid down here would give us freedom... but It would give... Him freedom..

I didn't know how to make sure he would stay trapped... but for now.. I had someone to send off. I turned my head to the only person who could leave this hell hole.

"You can go."

He nodded his head before walking off.

'Poor Kid'

He has no idea what's coming next..

~~~Liam's P.O.V~~~

I followed a safe distance away from Ryan. I actually just didn't want to die. Soon we reached a gate of some sorts and he turned back to me.

"Alright, hold out your hand."

"Uh... why?" I asked before shoving my hands into my pockets.

"Look, I don't like walking around this town during daylight, it sucks. Plus no need to make people afraid of me... even more." Ryan answered with a small grin.

"Fine.." I mumbled before outstretching my hand. I felt an awful pain, before I realized he was slithering over my burn.

Dammit...

I never healed it..

I felt uncomfortable as I felt him slithering up my arm. Though I just decided to bite my lip to keep from saying anything stupid.

I felt his tiny snake head against my neck and he nodded. I guess that meant walk in. I hope at least, because that was the plan. I couldn't contain my smile from what I saw though.

I had always heard my parents talk about going away to a town where we could get a break, but... this was so much better then what they had planned.

I couldn't stop myself from staring. Sure, I've been out in town before and seen the mythical creatures... but they were everywhere...

Though as I was looking around I saw someone staring right back at me with a confused glance.

Dark brown eyes, pale skin, Dark curly hair that concealed one of his eyes, and a dark blue jacket. He narrowed his eyes at me before nodding his head.

I couldn't help but slowly walk forward before I felt a small pain in my neck

"Ow..! What the heck..!" I mumbled softly rubbing the side that Ryan was on. "Did you just bite me..?!" 

"Noooooooooooooot Exactly-" He hissed at me. I could sense his sarcasm.

"What's that supposed to mean..?!" I hissed back wanting to smack him so hard right now.

"Your a smart guy, figure it out!" He hissed before I felt another sharp pain in my neck.

"Alright! That's it-!" 

"Hey are... you... okay..?" I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw a girl with bright blond hair and light blue eyes.

I haven't seen her in forever, but I recognized her immediately.

"M-Miss.. Alyssa.." I said feeling my face flush. Alyssa was a friend of my parents, she used to live at the castle a long time ago, it seems that her and my parents still were friends because every once and a while, Alyssa and her husband Varian would come.

Oh, did I mention that they were also some of the nicest people I have ever met? I swear, they could run a kingdom on pacifist ideals and nothing else.

"Liam..! What are you doing here..?"

Oh, how was I supposed to answer that question.

'Yeah, I met this... guy in the woods who saved me from drowning, he's British and a bit of a jerk but hey he dragged me through town so I wouldn't have to walk back to the kingdom, because it's getting late and so I won't be shot-'

"Uh... Just.. was meeting someone here.." I said 

"Oh... Who exactly..?"

Shit.

"Ryan... a little help here..." I mumbled softly quietly before speaking up. "Uh... He should be around here somewhere.." 

"I don't feel like it, love" 

"Please...!"

"No"

"Ryan I swear to-"

"Ugh... fine.. just this once, love" I felt an awkward slithering down my arm before I saw the guy from earlier.

"Uh.. That's who I'm meeting..!" I said pointing at the guy who stared at me earlier.

"Uh... Curly hair, Blue jacket?" Alyssa asked.

"Yeah... Uh... let me go get him.." I quickly shuffled over to the guy. "Please help me..." 

"Uh... why..?"

I quickly grabbed his arm before mumbling something in a different language and dragging him back over to Alyssa.

"This is my friend... uh..." Shit, could I be anymore of a loser right now?

"Erik... Nice to meet you" 'Erik' said as he shifted his arm out in a handshake. He and Alyssa seemed to have a nice chat before I saw Ryan in the corner of my eye with a small smirk on his face.

"I'll be right back" I mumbled softly before walking towards him.

I quickly pulled up my hood, no use in people recognizing me, and spreading the word.

"Seems that your friend likes your boyfriend.." Ryan snickered

"Listen here you little..." I took a deep breath before starting over, realizing how much of a bitch I was sounding like.

'Don't sink down to his level, Liam..'

"Why didn't you help me..?" I asked softly.

He stared at me shifting his position. He seemed like he was thinking a bit more about how to respond. I payed attention to how much his eyes were actually snake like. How thin his pupils were. They seemed a bit more bigger as he seemed more thoughtful.

It was the first time I actually noticed how small his fangs were, When I saw them they seemed a bit bigger. His scar over his right eye... I finally realized how close I was standing to him and that I was staring when he passed his hand over his dark red hair.

"Look, I don't know.. I was going too... but.. You know what it doesn't matter." He said with a small shrug.

I would have thought he would have been more confident in his answer, but instead of elaborating he just stared back at me. I started to squirm a little bit. I didn't like it when people stared at me... it's like he could find out all the deep dark secrets..

I continued to stare at him before I couldn't handle it anymore, too intimating... I guess. and looked down at the ground. 

"Ha... I win." He answered in his usual cocky voice before smirking at me.

"W-Wha..? How did you win..?!" I shouted a bit too loud.

"You looked away first, I obviously was intimidating you" He answered simply before looking behind me. "Your little friend is coming."

"Uh... Who?"

I turned around and saw Erik walking towards me his hands in his pockets. His demeanor threw me off.. was I here to meet him... or was he here to meet me?

"Thanks for plucking me out of the crowd... what's your name..?"

"...Uh... Lee" I extended my hand and 

Of course I was not going tell a stranger my name..!

"Lee... Well Lee, it was nice meeting you. Till our next meeting.." He said waving me off.

I stared at him as he walked off. I felt Ryan stand beside me looking back between me and Erik.

"Lee..?" He asked for the first time ever confusion ringing in his voice.

"... I'm not about to tell a stranger my name.." I answered with a shrug.

"And yet you told me your name. Why?"

Oh, I did do that... Why did I tell him my name... I didn't have any reason... so why.

"... I don't know.."

"Well, tell me when you figure it out." He said with a nod before walking away.

Although I hated to admit it, I liked his company.. so I followed after him questioning everything that I've done these past few days..
