~~~Joel's P.O.V~~~

"This is Ryan Evan Riverton..." Liam said motioning his free hand to Ryan. I turned to L, seeing her smile a bit at Liam's wider smile.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both.." He greeted, nodding his head at us. I smiled a bit.

A bit worried.

To be honest.

Then again it seemed like I was the only one who was nervous. Which surprised me beyond belief.

They left upstairs a while ago. I looked around the almost empty ballroom, sighing softly before walking towards L.

"Hey, L.."

"Mm, oh Hi." She greeted offering me a piece of chocolate. I shook my head resting my head against hers.

"What's wrong..?"

"Nothing, I'm just worried."

"About...?"

"Am I allowed to say for Liam...?"

She turned to me, gently taking my hands. "Of course. I mean, we've always been worried about all of them."

"I know... but this time, it's a bit more.." I responded with a shrug.

"I know it's worrisome that Liam will be taking the throne.. But-"

"I know, I know.. I just still view them as small children sometimes.."

"I know.."

We both stayed silent before I gently took her hand. "Am I allowed to ask you for a dance..?"

"Kind of surprised that you didn't ask me earlier.."

"I don't have an excuse for that." I said, gently placing a kiss on her hand before leading her to the middle of the room, wrapping one arm around her waist. The other one taking her hand.

I felt her lean her head against my chest, sighing softly. "Do you think we did an okay job..?"

"Yeah. I think we did.." I gently placed a kiss on her head before I felt her tightly grip my arm.

"I was thinking.."

"That sounds dangerous."

She smiled a bit at my response. "That maybe... once everything calms down, and Liam gets the hang of it.. We could go back to the town. Actually, be us for a while instead of the Queen and King or Prince and Princess.."

"... I'd like that." I mumbled gently, kissing her head.

She smiled a bit at my response before wrapping her arms around me. "I'm tired.."

I rolled my eyes with a small smile. "Go to bed, I'll be there in a minute." I promised gently.

She nodded her head before, gently kissing my cheek walking out.

~~~Liam's P.O.V~~~

"Nope."

"You sure?"

"Yep."

"Really?"

"Mhm."

"Come on, that isn't true."

"Liam, we've been over this 10 times."

"And I'll continue to ask it 10 more times."

"Mm, I'll throw you out the window."

"You do that," I answered falling onto my bed tiredly with a sigh. "I'm done with today, and we're only getting started.."

"I know, love." He gently mumbled sitting on the edge of the bed.

I quickly took off the crown, throwing it across the room before snuggling against my pillow.

I felt like I was ready. Though what if I was wrong. I didn't know how I would do that.

"You alright, love..?"

"Worried, really really really worried."

"Mind if I ask what it is?" He asked, propping his head up with one arm. I sighed.

"I'm scared, Ryan.."

I felt him slide his arm over to me tightly gripping it. I tightly gripped his hand, gently giving it a small squeeze.

"You uh- Want to talk about it..?" He asked hesitantly.

"I know we're about to lose so much as a kingdom."

"Liam, stop doubting yourself, you'll be a-"

"Not what I mean." I quickly answered

He looked at me confused. "I'm confused, What do you mean then?"

I let out a deep sigh. "Whenever a new king or queen takes the throne. The alliances that were once made are basically gone. The new King and/or Queen has to meet with the ones who made the alliances, only then will the alliances be back. So basically if we decided to fuck over anyone we're screwed."

He stayed silent.

"So basically, I have one meeting to prove that it's a good idea to stick with this small kingdom with not many connections. Some just held it out for my parent's sake... but now there is nothing stopping them from pulling away from our kingdom.."

He didn't respond. He stayed silent. His face obviously implying that he was thinking. I tightly messed around with the suit coat I had on unable to say anything else.

I feared silence a lot now. I couldn't handle him not speaking.

"I know... This is probably just irrational thinking.. I'm just really worried.."

"I understand, Lee.." He said gently pulling me into an embrace kissing the side of my head.

"... Sorry.. I didn't mean to bring everything down.. I just don't want to put the people in danger..."

"I know, love.. Just.. stop worrying for a minute. Take a deep breath.." He mumbled.

I nodded my head, burying my face in his shoulder with a sigh. "I'm also just really tired, and that champagne was not good."

"Well you don't seem like the kind of guy to drink and even like it."

"I've learned my lesson from drinking."

"Did ending up in my bed shirtless, confused and drunk help with that?" He deadpanned.

I rolled my eyes before nodding. "Exactly, Can't have that happen any more, love."

"Stop stealing my shit."

"Mm, I'll try." I mumbled softly yawning.

"I'll let you get some rest, love." He said gently kissing my forehead before starting to walk away.

"W-.. Wait.."

He stopped turning around with a confused glance.

"... Can you please stay with me.. I-.. I promise, nothing behind it or anything.. I just.. I want you here with me.." I responded, reaching my hand out towards him.

He walked over to the bed laying down beside me. I took off my stupid coat, snuggling against his side with a small sigh.

I felt his arm wrap around me. "Sleep well, love.."

I nodded my head, falling deep in thought before I could actually manage to sleep again.

"You asleep yet..?" I asked, my voice ringing through the darkness.

"Nope.."

"... Can we talk..?"

"Aren't we already..?"

"Fair point.."

"What's the king want to talk about..?"

"Everything and Anything.."
