~~~Liam's P.O.V~~~

Erik stared blankly at the wall thinking about where he wanted to start. I stared at him before he sighed, turning to us.

“My parents… well my dad is a monster.. My mother on the other hand… she just wants to die..” He explained.

“The Mountain Of Illusions, well the inside caverns..-” He turned to me. “Where we trapped you for three years. They were trapped in there from a young age. My Father and his partner in crime, my mother.”

“The kingdom was never fair. As it is for all people. I’m sure the queen would agree. My father had always swore vengeance for…” Erik bit his lip slightly before continuing in a different tone.

“He just was raised like that.. I was born in the worst possible moment. My father was angry with my mother for trying to help me escape.”

“I thought if you were born in the caverns you can’t leave… the magic charm..?” Ryan asked, speaking up for the first time.

“Doesn’t apply to me.. My parents couldn’t leave because the charm was specifically on them.. I was never included in the charm so I could come and go as I pleased.. My mother had realized that.. So she tried to help me escape when I was about 5..” Erik explained before brushing his hair out of his face; making his patch over his eye become in full view.

“My father hated my mother for that. He punished her.. Horribly.. My father didn’t like that I went with no complaint.. So he... “ Erik started before looking up at us with his eye. “... He cut off my eye… explaining that it would be much worse if I ever tried that again..”

I tightly stabbed my finger nails into my palms. I felt an overwhelming amount of pain. Erik sighed a bit before turning to me letting his curly hair cover the patch.

“Then you came into the picture.. My parents were always looking for a way to get back at the kingdom… They had found the perfect solution when you were born after the deal was made.. Originally I was sent to make you fall in love with me.. But I had found out that you were gaining feelings for the serpent-”

“Ryan.” Ryan corrected before Erik could continue.

Erik stared blankly at Ryan before correcting himself. “That you were gaining feelings for.. Ryan. I-... I was already going to be the reason you were going to be trapped in the caverns.. I couldn’t take anything else from you..”

I felt Toni tightly grip my hand.

“What about this..?” Toni motioned around us. “Why Liam and not me. Why our family and not some other generation of royals. Why now?” 

Erik turned to look at all of us. Particularly me. I grew a bit uncomfortable tightly gripping my sleeves staring at the ground.

“Liam was part of a deal that your mother made long before you were born.. Long before you parents were even together. You aren’t the heir Antoinette, we were looking for the first born.. Now.. well the moon isn’t full. Your brother can’t use his magic.. At all, perfect time to strike and to freeze time, don’t you think..?” Erik deadpanned.

I turned to Ryan. He turned to me with a shrug. I turned back to Erik. “So… how can we stop this..?” 

Erik sighed. “We need to get close enough to kill both of my parents.. Their magic is the source of all of this madness..”

“I already tried, your mother threatened to kill me..” I responded holding my head low. I saw Ryan turn to me a small glare in his eyes.

Crap.

“That’s why I’m here to help you.. After that you do whatever you want to me..”

I sighed before nodding. “We’ll let you help.. But we don’t have a plan..”

“No duh, But I do..” Erik grinned a bit.

I paced around. This plan was either going to get us killed or captured due to how ambitious it is. Though I didn’t have another choice.

We would all be split up no matter what which sucked in itself but I trusted Erik. He assured us that we’d be okay. Ryan on the other hand didn’t like this.

Not one bit.

“No.”

“Ryan.”

“I’m not letting you go alone with him! What if he crosses you, Liam..!” He asked gently, holding my hands tightly.

“Ryan..”

“Please.. Just.. let me come with you what if he tries to hurt you..” Ryan cut me off tightly squeezing my hands.

“Ryan, I can protect myself..”

“Your magic, though..”

“I know a thing or two, Ry..” I gently pulled my hands placing them on his shoulders.

“I-... Liam please, just let me or Toni come with you..”

“Ryan, I can take care of myself.. I’m not a child.. Plus you two got your own part in the plan..” I said gently, placing a small kiss on his cheek.

His expression fell a bit as he looked down. “I just want to keep you safe, love..”

“I know, I love that about you.. But you can trust me.. I can take care of myself.” I assured him.

He sighed a bit before nodding starting to walk away. “Wait..” I called out reaching out to him. Ryan turned around. I quickly walked towards him, taking off the necklace that my mother gave me.

“I want you to hold on to this.. When this is all over, you can give it back to me.. Therefore we both got another reason to live. To deliver and to receive.”

He stared at the tiny gold orb in his hand that had a small crescent moon. He turned back to me with the faintest smile.

“It’s also reassurance, I know you have some type of six sense.. So If you ever find yourself feeling like I’m in danger press the crescent. When you do it’ll lead you to the first person who pops into your mind.. Be careful with it, one shot and it’ll screw it up..”

He nodded his head in understanding. “You really are about the moon, huh..?”

I smiled shyly before brushing my bangs off of my forehead revealing my moon birthmark. “Of course my love. I was born with a love for the moon.” I let my hair fall back before gently kissing him, tightly gripping his arms.

He smiled as I pulled away gently placing a kiss on my forehead. “I love you Liam, I’ll see you when this is over..”

“I love you too, Ry..” I smiled before walking over to Erik walking out of the strongholds. Taking one last look at my boyfriend, my sister, and my friends.
