You have beautiful eyes
"Here you are, this is going to be your room." Keith said as he pointed to a door, lit up by a white light around it.
I still didn't talk much. I was really shy. Not that I didn't want friends because I did, but just I didn't know how. My past would forever pull me like a puppet on a string.
I just gave him a half smile and walked in.
I looked around and saw a bed. The bed sheets were the same color as the thin papery ones in my cell. I frowned at the memory and tried not to think about it.
*flashback*
I was startled out of my sadness when a voice rang in the air.
"Everyone dinners ready! Come eat."
I nodded to myself, trying to ring up the confidence to go eat without shaking like a leaf.
As I made my way to the dining area my confidence slowly leaked out of me and when I got there, I was just as quiet and shy as before. I sat at the table and picked at the plate that hunk made for me because he knew I'd be too scared to take anything for myself. He was the sweetest out of everyone here.
I saw Keith stare at me subtly from across the table and I caught his gaze. His expression turned to shock and he looked away. I didn't know much about that boy, just that he saved my life.
I ate a couple bites and quietly excused myself from the table.
*End of flashback*
I sat on the bed and breathed as I closed my eyes. There was a knock that disturbed my peace and Keith walked in.
"Hey, I just wanted to see how you're doing. You seem to like to be quiet. Anything I can do for you?"
I just shook my head and looked at my feet. Keith kneeled down in front of me and looked into my avoiding eyes.
"Why don't you like to talk? Did something happen?"
I looked at him and shook my head but still didn't say anything.
"You do know you're safe here right? We won't hurt you. You have every right. You won't be punished for anything." I saw something move out of the corner of my eye and I looked to see Keith had his hand outstretched. I hesitantly and delicately placed my hand on his in anticipation and he closed his fingers around mine.
"See, we won't hurt you. You're okay here."
I gave him a small smile.
I looked into his eyes and I never realized how much they resembled space. Such a beautiful deep shade and the highlights in his eyes looked like stars. I reached out and placed my finger tips on his cheek right below his eye.
He seemed to be startled and confused.
"W-what are you doing?"
"You have beautiful eyes." I smiled.
He was even more shocked, but now the shock on his face turned soft. He smirked a little as he reached up to remove the fingertips from his face.
"Thank you." He nodded.
Keith stood up and walked toward the door. Before he made his way out I stopped him.
"What is it?"
"Thank you Keith. For saving me and being so kind. I really needed it."
"Of course. It's a paladins job." I shook my head and laughed. "What's so funny?"
"It wasn't the paladin in you that saved me. It was your own free will. Your own judgment. Take pride in that Keith. It proves you have a good heart beneath all of that angst."
He seemed to be stumped on a response to my compliment so he just nodded awkwardly and walked out.
Third POV
Keith walked into the lounge with his hand rubbing the back of his neck as he was deep in thought.
"What's up with you buddy?" Hunk asked as he pulled his eyes from the game him and Pidge were playing.
"I-I just spoke to y/n, the girl we rescued, and she talked."
Everyone's eyes went wide and they all dropped what they were doing.
"What did she say?" Allura asked.
"She... she gave me a compliment. I-I didn't know how to respond so I just left."
Everyone's faces dropped in disappointment and most of them groaned.
"Aw, is Keith gonna take this girl away from me?" Lance complained as he slumped in the lounge couch.
"Shut up lance." Keith growled thinking about y/n and what she said to him.
You have beautiful eyes
A blush crept up on keiths face and he put his fingertips where hers once laid.
"See he likes her! He's blushing!" Lance shouted.
"Am not!" Keith defended.
Pidge and hunk got all up close and personal to inspect his face.
"Yep definitely blushing." Pidge concluded as she pushed her glasses up.
"I-I am not..."
"Definitely are."
