"I'm sorry princess. I gotta take it."
My heart sank in that moment.
"What?" My voice cracked.
Keith was helped up and uncuffed.
He was handed the money and he pocketed it.
"It's my family I gotta think about. It's them before anyone else."
My heart shattered as I looked into the eyes of someone who I once trusted.
"You don't have to pretend anymore handsome." The council president laughed "shes ours now. You can just tell her the truth."
"What truth?" I squeaked.
"Nothing!" Keith shouted.
"Oh there's something, sweetheart." She ranger fingers along his jawline "come on. Tell her. Tell her about how you knew about this all along. Tell her about how you knew that she was gonna be given up. Tell her how your love for her was a lie."
"NO!" I cried. My body wanted to give up. "HOW COULD YOU?! I trusted you!" I sobbed.
My heart ached at the betrayal. I looked at him as I still kneeled on the ground in cuffs. He looked down, towering over me.
"I'm sorry princess. Like I said, family before anyone else."
He turned to leave but anger fueled me.
"YOURE A TRAITOR!" I screamed.
"No, I'm resourceful!"
"YOURE NOTHING BUT A COWARD!" He continued to stay back toward me 
"You can't even look me in the eyes." It was silent before I was filled with anger again "LOOK AT ME!"
He turned to me with tears in his eyes.
"Don't give me that!" I scoffed.
"Im sorry." He mumbled.
"NO YOURE NOT! You're nothing but sorry for yourself! And you know what?! I'm sorry for you. I'm sorry you're such a coward! I'm sorry you're a such a loser! I'm sorry that you're SO DESPERATE that you had to make someone fall in love with you and then leave them to someone else to get cash for the mistake YOU made!" I went silent and then mumbled "I'm sorry that I ever loved you."
He seemed like he broke then and there.
I looked at him and squinted
"Were your feelings -even for a second- ever real?"
He didn't answer me.
"Tell me!!" I shouted suddenly.
"Not for a second w-" He coldly mumbled back But was cut off by me being carried away.
"Wait!" He shouted.
I stopped fighting after that moment. I let it happen.
I let myself be carried away to a room in the big castle they had.
I let myself be pulled into a bathtub and be bathed by two maids.
I let myself get thrown around while getting put into pajamas.
I let them throw me down and tuck me into bed every night.
I'd been here for two months.
Every night I'd go numb and wait for the pruning to be over.
I'd cry myself to sleep and them wake up tired as ever.
I never slept past four hours every night.
And I'd get yelled at for behind tired and sluggish, but I never fought back.
After Keith told me he never loved me for a second I never felt anything more.
Tonight felt different though.
I laid in bed after the maids tucked me in and I grabbed at the blankets.
It was the first night I hadn't cried and I thought that was because I was starting to get used to being here, but I guess it was because my body knew what was coming.
After laying in the dark for a while, I heard a knock.
I lifted my head over to my balcony glass door and saw a figure.
The alarm lights went off outside and I got a glimpse of who it was.
It was Keith.
I jumped out of bed and go the door.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked shocked.
"Come on! Let's get you out of here!"
He held out his hand and my body shut down.
He doesn't love you, why would he come back? He already broke you, what does he want now?
What if he tries to sell you off again?
"No." I simply stated.
"No?!"
"No! How can I trust you? How do I know you won't pawn me off anymore?"
"I won't pawn you off anymore! I came back for you didn't I?"
"Yeah! After two months!"
"You want to know that I won't pawn you off?" He shouted.
I waited for him to do something.
He sighed and dig into his pocket.
He took out the same wad of cash he was given and set it on the desk.
"There. That proof enough for you?"
I nodded my head and took his hand.
I jumped onto the back of his hover craft and wrapped my arms around him.
"Hold on. It's gonna be wild."
He flew down the side of the building and pulled up before we hit the ground.
We flew away, faster then the troops on foot or their ammunition.
We got to a ship and he hopped off.
"Here! Come on!"
"This isn't your ship!"
"Yeah it is. Let's go!"
I ran into the craft and he hooked in his little bike and ran inside.
We started to take off as the troops shot at the craft.
"Here we go!!"
We shot off into space and got far far away before he put it into drifting mode.
"So why did you come back?" I asked harsh and sudden.
He shrugged "because I missed you."
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.
"I did. I missed having you around. I knew that right after I saw you get taken away, I would come back."
"Why?" I ask shaking my head.
He spun my chair and pulled me close to him.
"Because I have crazy feelings for you. I always have."
I scoffed and pushed him away
"You told me that you never actually loved me for a second."
"No, they didn't let me finish. I was going to say "not even for a second we're my feelings not real."
My heart fluttered.
"I have always and will always be totally confused and in love with you. You give me feelings that I can't help but want to be addicted to." He pulled my chair close to him again and whispered "and I really want to be addicted to you."
I leaned up to his lips and he leaned down.
He kissed me back hungrily as he pulled me closer to him.
We kissed hard and his hands roamed my body.
I pulled away before we got too carried away.
"Okay okay. I get it. Someone's missed me." I laugh as I avert my gaze by looking down.
"No no. More." Keith whispered as he connected our lips again.
I kissed him back as I ran my fingers through his hair.
"Okay okay. We are done for now." I laughed as I disconnected our lips.
He sighed in the absence of my lips on his and nodded.
"Okay, fine."
I looked into his eyes and his glistened as they looked at me.
"I never want to let go of you, princess." He whispered to me
"Then don't."
