~Chapter Thirty-Three~Gramps~
~Laxus's Pov~
The next morning we got a text from Gray. He was informing us he was able to start a peace treaty with the Rebels and that our Clan Leader was informed. This was good at the least. I was wondering what Gray had to offer to get this to work. Rebels hated us for unknown reasons. Most of our history was hidden due to the fact Fairy Tail once had a Clan Leader who only cared about power and money. He even started a war. No one knew what happened to him, all we knew was that he went missing.
I did always wonder if that man was related to why the Rebels hate us. I was in the training room sparing with my younger brother. Only using our bodies to fight. There were no powers or weapons in the spar allowed. We were up before everyone else and went straight to training. Us both letting out our rage about leaving Lucy alone with the Rebels. We both did hate it but she made up her mind. She was right. We were older now. We were dragged into something bigger than we first thought.
She had her own mind. I and Sting both knew she would someday leave our protection to explore the world, find her place but I never wanted her in this world. I never wanted her to join this fight that would never end. All of this was, all the bloodshed, darkness, killers and attacks would never end. There would never be true peace in our world. Not just because of the Darkness and Rebels. Because of us Hunters as well. Our history was good and bad. Many still held grudges against us Hunters and would do anything to get revenge.
I just had to hope she wouldn't be dragged through that. I had to hope that E.N.D was able to protect her along with Gray. I wasn't sure how long myself and Sting were in a spar but I knew it was some hours. We both were sweating attacking each other with all we had. We both knew each other and each other's moves. How many times we had sparred in the past. We both we able to deal with each other's blows. When I would hit Sting hard in the gut he would be able to take it. He never was able to.
That normally was my finishing move on Sting until he got used to my blows. Sting would aim to kick me in the neck but still was unable to do so. Speed was my skill thanks to the Lightning Spear. Sting was good at defence thanks to his Sword of Light. "How long have you boys been down here?" I soon heard Mira's shocked voice as none of us answered her. We kept going. I was blocking Sting's fast kicks and punches as he was trying to push me back. I was able to keep my ground. Both of us were also tied when it came to who won the spars.
We didn't want to lose to each other. With my speed, it was easy to keep defending from Sting until he started to get tired but he was lasting out longer than he normally would. He was different now. He now had the DNA of a Demon Dragon inside of him. We knew we would have to work on this. We knew that this new DNA came with demonic powers. Sting would have to learn it all. "STAND DOWN! MASTER IS HERE!" we soon heard Erza's voice fill the room. Her voice harsh sounding like an order.
Sting and I stopped turning our heads to see Mira holding two glasses of water. "Master is here to talk to the Rebel Leader in the next couple of days. We are unsure when the meeting will be so Master has come early to show the Rebels he truly wants to make peace" Mira soon explained with a kind smile on her face. Both Sting and I walked over to her as I smiled slightly. "Sounds like Gramps" I spoke as she passed us a glass each. Mira only giggled slightly as I saw she was holding back a smirk.
That scared me slightly. "Laxus how about we spar later?" Mira asked as I felt my body go cold. Sting was looking at me confused as I felt more sweat start to build up. "Last time you broke my rib Mira" I spoke as Sting nearly fell sideways as if he was one of those anime characters that Lucy used to laugh at. "Why not have your brother team with you?" she soon asked as I saw Sting smirking looking at me with hopes. He really wanted to challenge Mira. That was like asking for a painful death.
She was the only person I had ever lost to. "Maybe later first we gotta see Gramps" I only replied drinking some of the water as Mira turned around heading upstairs first. Sting was asking if she truly was stronger than me. "Yes. It wouldn't shock me if she was stronger than E.N.D" I answered Sting soon was slightly pale now saying if Rogue also joined us spar we might have had a chance. Even I myself knew....no matter who we were the only person who was able to last fighting Mira was Erza. Even then Erza would always lose.
Erza was able to defend with her power inside of her. Sting and I headed up the stairs to see Gramps looking at me. "Hello Laxus, Sting" Gramps spoke with a smile on his face as he was sitting at the dining table. Erza was serving out breakfast. "Hopefully Gray can speed things along" Erza spoke as Mira only shook her head with her eyes closed. Erza raised an eyebrow while we all sat at the table. "It is a shock Gray was able to get this far in one night basically. That was meant to be the hardest and longest part but Gray was able to offer something the Rebels really wanted" Mira explained as we all started thinking.
"What they really wanted? What would the Rebels want from us?" Rogue soon asked. Sting soon was asking himself that question in a whisper as Gramps only chuckled getting us all to look at him. "They want to know where Precht Gaebolg is" Gramps soon answered as all our eyes widen. Precht Gaebolg was one of the founding members of Fairy Tail. A very powerful Hunter with Angel DNA. "Why would they want to know that?" Erza asked loudly and sounding upset. They wanted one of our founding members.
That was normally an insult toward our whole clan. "Because he was the leader before me who only cared about Power. He would cut down Rebels left and right just to steal their gifts, power and magic" Gramps soon answered as all of our eyes widen in shock. Why did Gramps hide this? Why would this be kept from everyone in Fairy Tail??
