Chapter 8 She needs a doctor, Not you

Chapter 8: She needs a doctor, Not you

I changed Raiden's car to a green Challenger Hellcat which you'll see on the side. I also added a song that goes well with the car chase. Hope you guys like it!

Raiden's POV

"Close the gates!" I shout at the guards before she can leave. I don't care if my Lamborghini crashes into the gates! She will not escape!

I hear the creaking of the gates and start to relax knowing she won't be able to go anywhere now. But it seems like my prediction turned out to be wrong when she unexpectedly speeds up the car and passes the gates with ease.

"Dang it!" I yelled.

"Dalton get the car keys to my challenger now!" I shout at Dalton, the guy that Emery had just kicked in the knee.

He ran or at least tried while limping to go get my car keys. Once he gets back I run to him, tired of waiting and snatch the keys from his hand while running to my green Challenger Hellcat. I start the engine and roll down my window when I see Duncan running my way.

"Load guards up in the Escalade's, and have them follow behind me," I quickly say to him before going through the gates and turning left knowing which way she went.

I look to my right and see the speed limit sign and look to my left to see no cars around, I then go way over the speed limit trying to catch up to my dark blue Lamborghini Aventador.

I finally spot my car driving slowly, going exactly the speed limit.

I look in her side mirror and see her face looking straight until she suddenly looks at the review mirror and spots me looking straight at her.

She then goes into panic mode and that's when I spot the Escalade's behind me.

I smirk knowing that she can't get away now. She starts to speed up much faster than what she was doing before.

I move to the left lane lining my car up with my Lamborghini, then I roll my window down while she rolls hers down halfway.

"Emery pull over now! If you pull over now I will lessen your punishment!" I shout negotiating with her.

She scoffs and revs the car up to go faster, way to fast that she won't be able to see where the turn up ahead is. She's not familiar with this road if she doesn't make that turn she'll end up in the lake that's straight ahead which is guarded by a not so sturdy fence.

She could possibly die if she doesn't take that turn.

"Emery! Emery stop, you're going to fast!" I shout with my head out the window.

She's getting closer and there's no sign that she will turn in time.

An Escalade comes up to my right and the window rolls down. I can see Duncan in the passenger seat wanting to talk to me.

"What is she doing?!" Duncan questioned.

I didn't have time to answer him when Emery suddenly sees the turn and tries to sharply take it. Unfortunately I heard the horrific sound of screeching tires meaning she didn't succeed in taking that turn.

I look away from Duncan and look straight to see my dark blue Lamborghini still going straight downhill.

What did she do!

All the cars stop including mine at the top of the hill. I get out quickly and slam the door shut just in time to see my car do multiple flips and landing in the lake upside down.

I rapidly ran down the hill shouting orders at my men.

"Someone call Casey now!"

I stop at the bottom of the hill and look at the damage. I look closely and the drivers seat hoping Emery will move.

She doesn't.

I keep staring at the drivers side and see a red liquid mixing in with the lake water.

Her blood.

The red liquid is spreading in the lake making it to where you can barely see the blue color of the water.

I take my shirt off along with my shoes and socks and jump in knowing how deep this water is. I swim downward still hearing muffled yelling from above the water.

I put my head above water making sure to take deep breaths before I go deep in the water.

"Raiden you have to-" I didn't finish hearing what Duncan had to say for I swam down to get Emery.

Everything I see is blurry but I can tell what something is by the shape of it. I swim to the drivers side and see the head of the car is dug deep down into the sand.

I try to open the door and can tell that the door has been pushed in and is jammed.

Ugh I need tools.

I swam to the top and yell at my men.

"Hurry up I need a crowbar and goggles, I can't see!" The men hurry up to the escalades to find what I need.

I take some time to control my breathing, fifty percent sure she might not make it in time.

She might just die.

Ridding the thought from my brain I yell again.

"I need them now!"

The men looking nervous stumble over each other trying to get me the crowbar and goggles quickly.

I snatch the things out of one guards hand. I put the googles on and hold the crowbar securely in my right hand.

"It could've only took one of you to get these, not all of you!" I shout before going down again.

I search for the drivers side again and stop when I reached the door. I put the head of the crowbar in, using all my strength to crack it open.

It budges only an inch, I look over to see Emery but I can't. The water has filled up the car making sure I don't see in.

I try opening the door multiple times but it's still not budging. I can't open this door and she's probably dead anyway.

I can't breathe and not just because I'm underwater.

I look at the window one more time knowing what I'm about to do.

I'm giving up.

I turn away and swim back to the top. I see Casey all ready near the lake waiting for me to bring Emery.

I shake my head at the thought of leaving Emery behind.

"Where is she?" She frantically asks.

I shake my head again looking down. With all of them seeing my action they all let out a sigh and I can see a single tear roll down Casey's face.

I can't do this.

Raging about the thought of Emery dying I swim back down quickly with the crowbar. I look at the window again, the window that's blocking me from seeing Emery.

I put both hands on the crowbar and put it over my shoulder before aiming it into the glass.

The glass shatters and mixes in with the water. The first thing I see is Emery's red hair floating in the water.

I then use all my strength to open the door once more. It finally opened, I push the door open which is a lot heavier underwater.

The creaking noise can be heard so when I push it all the way open the door breaks off.

I reach for her and unbuckle her seatbelt grabbing her. I have her halfway out the car when I can no longer pull her out anymore.

I leave half her body floating outside the car when I go back in the car to see the problem.

Her shoelaces are tangled up with the pedals. I don't have time to untie them, I take her shoes off and along with the shoes blood follows out.

I go back to her and put her in my arms bridle style and urge myself to swim to the top. I finally take my head out from underwater and take in a deep breathe trying to control my breathing.

"Emery!" I look up to see River running towards the lake. I ignore him and swim to the edge. River meets me halfway there and jumps in the water.

"Give her to me!" He yells.

"No! Get away I've got her!" I shout possessively tightening my arms around here.

"I'm taking care of her, hand her over!" He has the nerve to scream at me.

I swim away from him and try again to get to the edge. But he tugs on Emery's foot pulling me back.

"Watch it you-" I am interrupted by an ear piercing scream.

I look down and see Emery screaming with her eyes closed.

She's still alive.

"Look what you did! She needs a doctor, not you!" I correct him on who should be handling her.

I successfully reach the edge with no more interruptions from River. I hand Emery over to Duncan and climb out of the water. I grab her back from Duncan while she's still screaming.

"Shh everything is gonna be alright," I try to soothe her trying to convince myself instead of her.

"Put her in the car I need the backseat cleared," she orders.

I go to one of the escalade's she lead me to. She opens the door and I can already she a blanket covering the seats with her medical tools on the floor.

I walk into the car and sit down putting her head on my lap. I roll the window down calling out to Duncan.

"Duncan take my car back," I ordered him.

He smirks and does a salute. "Yes sir," he says happy that I let him drive my car.

"No wait I need to see Emery!" I hear River yell.

"You can probably see her when she recovers," I roll the window up and shout at the driver to drive.

"What's wrong Casey?" I questioned.

"Well her foot has a deep cut and she has some broken ribs along with a broken leg," she says looking at her body carefully, she touches her shoulder then brings her hand back to get her tools.

"Also a dislocated shoulder," she concludes.

"But?" I ask knowing there's something more.

"Um Raiden she hit her head really bad, half her head is bleeding,"

"I don't know how bad it is, I'll have to get back to my office to check how bad it really is," she says not saying anything more.

"We're here," the driver took the keys out from the ignition and opened the door for me.

I carry Emery out, now that I can see her more clearly I look at her carefully and see she's bleeding in multiple places.

"Okay set her down here," Casey lead me to a room with a large machine.

"What is this?" I ask.

"This is a CT scan, I have to check her head first before I can fix her other injuries," she distractedly said going into a little clear windowed room where I can see x-ray scans.

I walk out of the room and head out side, sitting on a bench.

I put my head in my hands and think.

No one ever escapes this household and no one ever goes as far as to risk themselves and get hurt.

So why did she desperately try to do it if she knew the risks?

I know I killed her brother but when I kill people's loved ones they grieve and they're too sad to do anything.

They're too sad to escape.

So why isn't she like them.

I am interrupted from my thoughts when I hear running footsteps.

Duncan stops in front of me and takes deep breathes.

"Man you n-need t-to come h-he-ere, Harley isn't a-acting r-right," he says still trying to breathe.

He stands up fully and breathes in again "Sorry I've been missing my morning runs," he wipes sweats from his forehead.

"What do you mean Harley isn't acting right?" I say knowing it probably isn't a big deal.

"She running around the kitchen saying she needs to tell you something now!" I sigh and stayed seated to the bench.

"What does she want to tell me?" I questioned.

"It's about Emery."

Hello guppies!
I have had someone edit a few chapters which means I changed a couple of things!

If you guys remember Raiden's past I said he was 16 when his parents died, well I changed his age. I changed it to where he was 10 when it all happened. I changed the age for another secret I'm doing which you'll find out later if you keep reading!

I hope this chapter isn't to short and I hope you liked the song I added. I am a very big fan of Jake Miller!

I know there is some mistakes in this chapter so I will have it edited soon.

Hope you guys liked the changes to the car as well!

Have a great spring break!

💕Izzy💕
