IMPORTANT Author's note and questions at the end!
I know this chapter doesn't make up for how long I've been. :(
Warning: Very short chapter!
Chapter 22: Good News, He's Nowhere Near The Police Station
R.W's POV
"Do you think this'll ruin our plan?" My helper questioned.
"What? Keith shooting River? Oh no, this is better than what I had planned," I chuckled. Keith shooting River was unexpected but perfect. This totally threw Emery off guard. With River shot, it preoccupies Emery from Raiden.
Just enough time for my plan.
"Okay, great! When should I mail the video?" My little helper questioned once more. "In 24 hours time, I need to make sure everything is working smoothly for this operation," I replied. If something goes wrong while delivering the video, my identity is on the line.
I still can't grasp why I waste my time on such a pest, but it has to be done.
For Kenneth.
If only Emery hadn't existed, Kenneth would still be alive. She killed Kenneth, so I killed Jonah. It was such a simple revenge plan until she made it complicated by falling for Raiden. Now I have to kill her. Don't think I missed Raiden confess his liking for Emery. I was surprised and thought is was a bit peculiar that he confessed, he usually just keeps to himself. That's why I need to kill her, she's changing Raiden.
A changed Raiden is a dangerous Raiden.
That brat falling for Raiden, I had to speed up my revenge process. So now with this new plan I have everything figured out.
Except for the fact Keith shot River.
I swear his visions are making him go crazy.
"Now go, go distract Raiden and figure out his plans for today," I shooed my helper out the door as I sat back down. Clicking one button on my computer showed me the face of the one and only, Farah Kennedy.
Not just the Farah Kennedy but also............Drum roll please!
Mackenzie Valdez.
Kidnapping her should make everyone think that she ran away, also making everyone think she's me.
It was a last minute plan but I know the real reason Mackenzie wasn't on any of those tapes. I pressed a button from my computer which made the whole room they are in light up. They may not be in the same room as me but I can still control their room.
Their faces scrunch up as the bright light comes on, which let's me know their conscious. I only kidnapped Mackenzie last night, so she still has yet to meet Farah Kennedy. Farah knowing the drill, lays her head back as she waits for my voice. Although, Mackenzie does seem a bit confused as she looks over at Farah while trying to free the zip ties from her weak arms.
"Who the hell are you?! Where the hell am I?" Mackenzie screams at Farah, waiting for her response so she has someone to blame. I know how her mind works, I know how everyone's minds work.
"Why don't you wait until one of them speaks!" Farah Kennedy yelled back, annoyed.
Purposely on cue, I spoke into the plugged in microphone.
"Well hello to you too, Mackenzie. I can see how Raiden had yet to tell you about our little......predicament here. You see my name is R.W. and I'm super pleased to see you filling my shoes," I turned off the mic as I watched another live stream which shows Casey and River talking as he tries to stand up. He fails a couple times before getting back up. What a weak man, he got shot in the arm not the legs.
I click through a couple more live streams to find Emery. I finally stop once I see her cooking tonight's dinner. Oh god, I can already tell the soup she's making will be dreadful.
I look back at the other live stream to see Mackenzie stuttering once she realizes who I am. I'm not a chicken to even hide my own voice, I already know I'm gonna kill her once my project is done.
"Oh my god, it can't be! R.W. is-" before she can finish her sentence I shut the live stream off, leaving her talking to a wall.
Ah yes, Raiden made a huge mistake when he told the whole gang last night about me. It was before I kidnapped Mackenzie so I assume she must've heard it before doing what she did that caused her not to show up on any cameras.
Now it'll be a lot harder to hide my identity when the gang members are looking at everyone to figure out who the mole could be. But I can manage like I've been doing all these years.
I hear a knock on the door as I start to panic. I better hope my helper did the job quickly and it's not just someone from the gang.
I open the door as I peek half of my face out. There I see my helper's clothes and hair are disheveled. With a disgusted but curious look upon my face I open the door all the way as I look at my helper up and down.
"What in the world happen to you, Delilah?"
~*~**~*~**~*~
Raiden's POV
"Damn it Graham, I told you to take care of this, what were you doing all this time?" I questioned Graham as I took the file away from him. He's been acting very strange a lot lately.
"If you can't give me an answer, I'll take care of this myself without acting like a wuss!" I walk out of my office as I head towards the IR, the interrogation room. I walk in to see a bloodied man from head to toe. I sit myself down as I purposefully placed the file down roughly in front of me. I opened it up to see the man's name is Ross Owens.
"So Owens, do you know what I do to people that are stupid enough to try and contact the authorities when I have my man secretly watching from afar?" Ever since I let Emery go from the underground statue people now think I've gotten weak and are trying to escape the premises. This has been like what....the 7th time this has happened.
This will also be the 7th death.
Before he can speak I lunge forward as I reach for his neck. People want to see what happens when they disobey me? Then I'll give them a show.
But before I can get too far into the beating, the door opens wide. I stand up as I lay my foot on the guy's chest, I raise my eyebrow and cough as I turn to see Emery.
"What're you doing here?!" I yelled as I saw her delicate face peak from the doorway. Seeing her face made my enraged one almost go away, almost. Once I realized she's still upset with me and I can't do anything about it made me want to be completely frustrated with her.
When did this get so complicated?
"I...I just wanted to know when it would be a good time for us to...uhm...talk?" Talk? Talk about what? A spring of hope bounced inside of me for a split second. Does she want to talk about what I said in the woods?
"We can talk now," I hurriedly replied while scratching the back of my neck. I took a step before she interrupted in mid walk.
"What about...," she hadn't finished her sentence, making me turn around to see what she meant. With one quick kick to the head, Owens went unconscious. "There," I wiped the imaginary dust of my hands as I continued her way.
She held the door open with a horrified expression as I walked passed her making me stop in my tracks once I smelled various types of a spice scents on her.
"What were you doing?" I questioned as I continued down the all to familiar hallway as I headed towards my office. "Um...J..Just making soup for tonight," she answered quickly yet calmly.
I swing my office door open, not bothering to hold it open as I sat in my leather chair. "What is it you wanted to talk about?" I asked bitterly as I grabbed a pencil and started rotating it with my fore finger and middle finger.
"Okay so um... I now know you weren't the one who shot River and I also know Keith did it," I simply nodded as I put my feet up on the desk. I know I didn't shoot River so the only reasonable explanation is that Keith shot him the same time I shot my gun so it would sound like I did it.
"Okay so?" I'm expecting more to come from her than just this obvious fact. Probably something I actually wanted to hear.
"Can you possibly track Keith down?" My left eye twitched as I snapped the pencil in half. This is not what I wanted to hear.
"Why would you possibly want me to track down the man who shot your brother?" I questioned trying to stay calm. I shot her 'brother' and she's still infuriated with me, but when Keith shoots her actual brother she wants to find him!
The only difference is that I have a better shot than Keith.
"Because I need to know why he did what he did. I think his visions made him to it," she shares. Excuses, excuses.
"Visions?" I knew Keith was crazy, but there's no way.
"I know, I didn't believe it at first but he knows about R.W."
"Everyone knows about R.W. now! I made that announcement last night only to see if Mackenzie would come forward," I explained.
"Keith wasn't there remember? And what do you mean you did it for Mackenzie to come forward?!" she exclaimed.
I rubbed my face with my right hand as I know what's gonna come next. She's not going to like what I'm going to say. "The tape Kade showed you, remember? It was a women and that women was Mackenzie," I explain.
"Why would you think Mackenzie would frame me?" she questioned, still not believing it.
"She's the only women that wasn't visible on a security camera the time you were framed."
"She could've been out! She's not your slave, she doesn't have to be kept on a leash," she suggests, frustrated.
"That's not all," I leave it at that waiting for her to decide if she wants to hear it or not.
She waits for me to speak but realizes that I want her to talk first. "What else?"
"After the announcement, she disappeared, she's gone." She jumps from her seat ready to make accusations.
"This is R.W's doing, how can you not see that? She's framing Mackenzie like she framed me," she accused. I stood up from my chair waiting for her to finish venting.
"This is like the time you blamed Keith! Keith was innocent just like Mackenzie is! I mean how can you blame Mackenzie, your friend?"
"Keith may have not been R.W. but don't forget he did shoot your brother," I argued.
"Why do you think I want to find him? I want to know why he did what he did. Why would Keith run away when he knows you can find him anywhere in this town? He not stupid, he wants you to find him," she assured.
I give in. "You're lucky that I thought Keith was crazy enough to put a tracker on him," I agreed.
I pulled up Keith's location on my computer as I saw hope drowning her eyes. It took a minute before the computer confirmed Keith's exact location.
"Well good news, he's nowhere near the police station," I announced, earning me an eye roll form Emery.
"It seems like he's walking towards...here," I confirmed.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well with the speed he's walking I'd say he'll show up after dinner," I guessed.
"He's coming back?" She questioned once again.
"Well with the direction he's going, yeah he's coming back," I replied.
Still standing she makes her way towards the door with a simple 'thanks' being said.
"Is there anything else you wanted to talk about?" I questioned hopefully.
"No, that's it...for now," she echoed.
"Oh, well if you're going back to the soup I think you have enough spices," I cautioned. I swear I can smell cayenne pepper from a mile away.
"Oh no, I finished the soup." Confusion covered my eyes as my eyebrows wrinkle, creating lines on my forehead.
"Then what is it you'll be doing?" I curiously questioned.
"I'm going to see Casey for the removal of my chip."
Hello, hello!
Phew, I thought this chapter was never going to be posted because of how much I rewrote it! I know this chapter doesn't make up for how long I've been gone. But as some of you know, my second book is out for readers! I'm really working hard on my second book since it's way more professional and different than this book.
Truth is I almost gave up on this book, on this chapter. But since it's about to end I think I owe it to you guys to reveal the mystery and finally finish the book.
My sister told me if I didn't want to keep writing this book than to just cut it off and write an epilogue! I think that's what jumped me out of my writer's block and realize I can't do that, I need to finish this book properly and on a good note.
IMPORTANT:
Oh my god! I revealed that Delilah is R.W's helper!
Now some may be confused but remember the R.W. cross-off list? I did put Delilah on there because she's not R.W, she's the helper.
By the way, we all now that Delilah planted the bullets, right? Some may be confused since she also showed up on the tapes. Don't worry it will be explained later on once R.W. is revealed!
So this is the part where I need you guys to get your thinking caps on and answer these questions!
Why would Delilah help R.W?
Do you think R.W. has something to do as to why Mackenzie didn't show up on the tapes? (Remember R.W. said they knew why Mackenzie didn't show up on any of them but does R.W. have anything to do with it?)
Do you think Keith has a good excuse as to why he shot River? If so then what?
Do you think R.W. is a male or female?
Can you think of anyone that should be on the R.W. cross-off list?
R.W. Cross-Off List:
River Deaton
Keith Daniels
Delilah Davis
Emery Denton
Raiden Lockhart
Mackenzie Valdez
Farah Kennedy
I really hope I don't wait this long to post a chapter again!
Remember, All the love,
💕Izzy
