Oh, Calamity
"So she just invited you over out of the blue?" Deveyon spoke swiftly as I packed a bag with enough for a weekend at Taylor's house. I got invited over for just one night. Remember? Well she called and asked me to stay Saturday night too. "Yeah," I zipped the black duffle bag. "She called a few minutes before I called you." I began walking downstairs. "Wow, Shy's gonna get one before me." He said sadly. I laughed and held the phone away from my ear. "Grandma I'm ready." She put her magazine down, grabbed the keys and we made our way to the garage. "Dee, I'll talk to you later." I opened the door and tossed the bag in back of the silver Honda. "Kay bye." I hung up and put my phone in the pocket of my hoodie. "All set?" My grandmother spoke softly. "Indeed I am." She pushed the button in the car which made the garage door slowly rise. We backed out and began the small journey to Tays. Google maps has never helped me so much.
We arrived in front of a two story eggshell white house. Impressive. I grabbed my bag from the back and leaned to peck my Grandma on her cheek. "See you soon." She said as I opened the door and climbed out. "Love you!" I said walking up to the auburn colored door. It looked so much better than my door or any door for that matter. I knocked timidly. I heard some shuffling and then the door opened revealing the orbs I've come to know in may I remind you, a few hours. "Hey," Taylor breathed. Her breath smelled like fresh mint. I say she brushed her teeth before I came. Bet on it? Maybe later. "Please, come in." She stepped aside and I walked into her house, looking at and studying almost everything subconsciously. "Hi and nice house." I said. She smiled and held her hand out. "Huh? Oh! My bag?" She nodded and I blushed slightly. Nobody has ever taken my bags before. I handed the duffle to her and she took it and walked upstairs to her room I'm guessing.
I followed behind looking lost. Hell, I was lost. When I finally caught up she was putting my bag on her bed. She patted a space beside her and I gladly sat beside her- well a little away, but still beside. "Shy," she said putting her hand on mine. "I'd just like to say thanks for coming. This means a heck of a lot and we will be great friends, I'm sure." Friends. I thought. Was I friend-zoned that quickly? I think I was. "Yeah, me too." I said, smiling the best smile I could muster. She smiled and removed her hand. "Do you like scary movies? I'll protect you if you don't." She bit her lip to fight a smirk. Okay but..wasn't I just friend-zoned? I need a new book, all relationships for dummies. "I don't watch them if I don't have to." I said truthfully. I don't. "Well," she said getting up and going to look around in the wall of movies I had just noticed. "In this case you have to." She laughed and I laughed too, of course. Yet I really wanted to know what she was doing to me because I didn't know if I liked it or not. Oh, calamity.
