In Danger

I couldn't turn back now even if I wanted to do so. The hostel was slowly coming into focus as we moved on. Immediately I entered inside, I was overwhelmed by the musty smell and the dim lighting. I could see cracked walls with wall geckos playing around, and the faint sound of dripping water echoed in the hallway. "Are you sure we're at the right place?" I asked, the clutches of fear gripping me tight, as the musty smell filled my nostrils.

"Yeah. I know you're quite surprised. That's how deceitful the school is. They only care about what people can see but inside, they don't give a damn," he replied, wearing a sad look on his face.

He showed me to a clean toilet. Immediately I was in, I unzipped my trousers and let out the urine stored in my bladder. The sound of the flushing water was a relief, and I felt a refreshing feeling when I released everything. It was now time to go. I came outside, looking around for Kane to escort me back but I didn't see him. "He must have left me. Wicked boy," I thought, as I made my way to the entrance of the hostel.

As I was about to move outside, someone from behind forced a handkerchief into my nose. I struggled to see who it was before I could remove his hands, I was already unconscious.

~Kane~
Seeing him lying unconscious in my arms. I couldn't help but chuckle. "Poor boy, now he will have to pay for hurting Tiger," I said pitifully.
I folded the handkerchief that contained the chloroform into my pockets and went ahead to chain him in our room. I blindfolded him and tied up his mouth in case he woke up when I was out. Stage 2 of Tiger's plan was a success and I was happy to have been the one that made it happen.

I rushed out after giving him one last glance. "Tiger must be waiting for me", I said. I returned to the pitch to see that the second half had already started. I sat quietly where my schoolmates were, anxiously waiting for the match to end. Just at the last minute, before the final whistle was blown, Titus scored a heartwarming goal equalizing with the Young City players. I chuckled as I saw everyone running inside the pitch to celebrate him.
"What does he feel like now? Mbappe Junior", I remarked, playfully.
Both teams congratulated each other, and with that, the match ended. For a moment, my happiness faded away when I thought about Sam's schoolmates finding out that he was missing. I swallowed hard and prayed that they would leave this place as soon as possible.
My joy knew no bounds when I saw one of the buses leaving. "It is finished", I said, mimicking the last words of Jesus Christ on the cross.

When every single one of them was gone, I ran straight to Titus. "Guy, it's a success," I said happily.
A smile crept up his face and he took my hands in his. "It's time to teach that bastard a lesson," Tiger said as we moved down to the hostel. When we arrived, Sam was struggling to get out of the chain. He mumbled some words which I guessed were "help" since he was gagged.

One by one, our roommates-the Mafians started trooping into the room. When they were complete, the door was bolted. Tiger smiled at all of us and boasted. "I told you that I would bring the sheep here." There was a loud cheering amongst everyone. I felt a bit hurt. "Here he is praising himself. He didn't acknowledge me one bit", I thought, disappointedly.

Tiger removed the blindfold on Sam's eyes so he could see properly. "Hey, surprise!" he exclaimed mockingly.
Sam just shook violently, tears falling from his eyes. "What did you think? You can publicly humiliate me and go scot-free. Never! I won't let a weakling like you do that to me." he paused, his eyes piercing into his. "And again, I will make sure you starve to death. I'm sure three days of fasting will kill you already", he laughed as they all went out, locking the door behind them.

I looked out of the window. The fast-moving trees and vehicles reminded me that I was still on the bus. My mind raced back to the match. I never expected Titus to be that genuine. Maybe he's a changed person now. I suddenly remembered Sam, I hadn't seen him much lately, apart from when we were about to leave. I smiled when I envisioned him shouting at himself for not playing. "He must be blaming me for deceiving him", I laughed to myself.

The bus arrived with a rumble, its diesel engine sputtering as it came to a stop. It was already late, and the air was cool and filled with the faint aroma of exhaust fumes. As everyone retired to their respective hostels, I glanced around searching for Sam. The evening air was crisp, with a slight chill that made me shiver.

"Did we leave him back there at Madonna?" I asked, the confusion evident in my voice. The sound of my words mingled with the distant chatter of other students.

Just then, Linda approached me with tears in her eyes. Her trembling voice echoed against the stone walls, the sound mingling with the soft rustling of leaves in the evening breeze. "What's the matter, Linda?" I asked, concerned, as the faint scent of her flowery perfume filled the air.

"I have a bad feeling. I can't find Sam. I have asked around. Nobody has seen him," she cried, her voice breaking the silence of the night.

I did as much to console her, the warmth of my hand on her shoulder contrasting with the cool evening air. "Don't worry, I'm sure he was among the first badges. He must be resting inside the hostel," I assured her, the words hanging in the stillness of the night.

She seemed to calm down a bit and left for her hostel. Immediately, she was out of sight; I hurriedly went to the hostel to look for Sam. Each step echoed in the quiet corridors, and the creaking of the hostel door seemed louder than ever. I went to his room but he wasn't there. The dim light from the hallway cast long shadows, adding to the sense of unease that was creeping over me. I checked all 11 rooms, but I couldn't find him. The air felt heavy with foreboding, and a feeling of impending doom settled over me.

"Something bad has happened to Sam. No!!" I shouted as I made my way to the principal's office, the sound of my footsteps echoing in the deserted corridors.

Slowly, everything started becoming clearer to me. Their main target was Sam, and they used this match to blind all of us. I could perceive trouble from a distance. The cool night air carried a sense of urgency, and the darkness seemed to close in around me, amplifying my growing unease. "This wouldn't end well," I thought, the weight of the realization settling heavily on my shoulders.
