✨Wedding whisper ✨
Rudransh pov
I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the collar of my ivory kurta. The intricate embroidery wasn’t just for show—it symbolized our family’s legacy, the Tanwar name, and everything expected of me.
My reflection looked back at me, a man wrapped in silk and tradition, but deep down, I felt conflicted.
As I tied my turban, a flood of thoughts washed over me. This was my wedding day—a day I’d never dreamed of, a commitment I hadn’t sought.
Marriage, in my eyes, was a chain. I never believed in love or soulmates; they were just words. But here I was, about to marry Vanya Rawat, a woman I barely knew, yet one my family had chosen.
Taking a deep breath, I met my gaze in the mirror one last time. Today wasn’t about me or Vanya; it was about loyalty to family, to Dadi Sa.
No matter what I felt, I’d play my part, keep my emotions in check, and do what was expected. Because a Tanwar always honors his promises, even when the cost feels high.
We were in one of the largest palaces in Jaisalmer, decorated from top to bottom with peonies.
The manager mentioned they were Vanya’s favorite, but honestly, I didn’t care. The scent filled the air, almost overpowering.
Family and friends surrounded me, all happy, laughing, and celebrating as if this was the moment they’d been waiting for.
I saw their smiles, heard the laughter, but none of it meant anything to me. To them, this wedding was a joyous event; for me, it was just an obligation.
I stood there, calm and composed, letting everyone believe I was as excited as they were.
I was here because of my family, honoring my grandmother’s wishes. Inside, though, it felt like I was just going through the motions, barely holding back my frustration.
As I moved through the crowd, greeting relatives, my cousin Tejveer came bouncing over with his usual wide grin. He’s always been a bit too cheerful around me, like a lost puppy eager to please.
Sometimes, I want to kill him but can't Tau Sa and Dadi Sa specially.
Tejveer pulled me into a hug, and I tried not to punch him .
“Bhai sa, I’m so happy for you!” he said, practically glowing. “I’ve been dreaming of your wedding. This is like a dream come true!”
Internally, I rolled my eyes. What the hell I'm doing in his dreams..!!
He kept talking, all enthusiastic. “I met Bhabhi Sa! She’s hardworking, kind—a real gem. Her father’s always in Bagru for business, meeting with Dadi Sa. I know their family well.”
I nodded politely, waiting for him to run out of things to say.
My Tai Sa, Ragini Chippa, came over with a proud smile. “You’re very lucky to marry her, my son,” she said. “I’ve known her since she was a child. She’s been through a lot. Her face was burned in a fire, and it kept her from going to school. I’m so proud of you for giving her a chance at happiness. You’ll be her blessing.”
Her words left me stunned, like I’d just been hit with the biggest shock. I was marrying a girl with scars, someone who didn’t have the education I expected.
I felt sympathy, sure—but what about my life? How would I manage?
Did Dadi Sa even consider my future when making this decision? If she wanted to help that girl, there were so many ways to do it.
I could have arranged for her medical treatment or supported her financially, but marrying me off? I felt lost and confused.
Just then, Twisha came up to me with a big smile. “Bhai Sa, you look like the hottest groom ever! May God protect you from evil eyes.”
She playfully waved her hand in front of me to ward off bad luck.
“Let’s go, Bhai Sa! Dadi Sa is calling you; the muhurat has started!” she said eagerly.
I was still trying to process everything, but I followed her as we walked together.
The mandap loomed ahead, and the priests were preparing for the wedding rituals. My mother, Dadi Sa, and the entire family were gathered there.
With a heavy heart and sealed lips, I took my place at the mandap. The only thing that overshadowed my swirling thoughts was Dadi’s sacrifices for our family.
If she chose this path for me, I felt I couldn’t disregard it.
As the marriage process began, the priest called for the bride: “Kanya ko bulayiye.”
I saw some girls carrying a flower bed over a veiled bride. I don’t know why, but as she entered, a wave of peace washed over me. The chaos in my mind settled, and the atmosphere was filled with the most intoxicating fragrance.
Amidst the noise, I could hear the soft chime of her payal clearly. As she drew closer, my heart, which had been at peace, began to beat wildly. Her honey-sweet scent acted like a drug, calming my mind as she sat beside me.
Though she was under a veil, I could feel her strong gaze on me. The priest began reciting mantras, and after a while, I was instructed to fill her hairline with sindoor. Confusingly, the girl hid her face behind paan leaves, so all I could see was her hairline as I applied the sindoor with careful hands.
Next, I tied a nuptial chain around her neck. As her hands rested on mine during the Kanya Daan, her touch sent a current through me, recharging my very being.
Then the priest announced, “We are married now.”
What kind of black magic are you working on me, Ms. Vanya Rudransh Tanwar?
Vanya POV
My chance for freedom slipped away when Tarani ji hugged me excitedly, saying she wanted me to be her granddaughter-in-law.
Rudransh’s mother and sister, Diksha ji and Twisha, also hugged me warmly. It hit me then: I had no choice but to marry Rudransh Tanwar, a man I had never even met.
The wedding functions went by in a flash but our rituals were not held together.
We were at the biggest palace in Jaisalmer, just like I had always dreamed, decorated with peonies—my favorite flowers—thanks to my loving dad.

Today was my wedding day, and I was marrying Mr. Rudransh Tanwar, the most eligible bachelor around.
I had looked at his Instagram and had to admit, he was incredibly handsome.
Any girl would drool over him with his broad shoulders, toned body, and striking features. But what caught my attention the most were his green eyes—they seemed to hold a mystery I wanted to explore.
While I felt a bit excited about marrying such a good-looking guy, I was also scared. I didn’t know anything about his personal life. What if we didn’t get along? What if he didn’t accept me for who I was?
As I stood in front of the mirror, wearing my bridal outfit, I tried to shake off the worries. I looked beautiful, but the anxiety still lingered.
Today was the start of a new chapter in my life. I took a deep breath, reminding myself that I was strong and deserved to be happy.
Whatever happened, I was ready to face it as Vanya Rawat and embrace my new life with Rudransh.
Twisha entered the room with bright smile, and hugged me. I had instantly felt a bond with her when I had met her for the first time.
She was beautiful and kind-hearted, and I hugged her back with love.
As she placed kohl behind my ear, she said, “May God protect you from every evil eye. You look so beautiful, bhabhi sa. Bhai is going to be crazy when he sees you—he might even faint!”
Her words filled me with happiness, especially the thought that I would be gaining a sister after marrying Rudransh.
I was called for the marriage, and my friends began to lead me downstairs. I felt a wave of nerves wash over me.
I was about to enter a new life and join a family with so many customs and traditions. I hoped I could do well.
As I entered the mandap and sat beside my soon-to-be husband, I couldn’t help but stare at him like a pervert.
It wasn’t my fault—I was marrying a man I had never met, and he was undeniably handsome. And best part is I'm velied- for the first time I'm loving these customs.
My breath caught in my throat as the pandit ji asked him to fill my hairline. I was excited to finally see him face to face, but my friends had covered my face with paan leaves, preventing him from looking at me before the wedding.
Then, as he tied the nuptial chain around my neck, I felt a shiver run down my spine. His touch made me blush, and when I placed my hand in his for Kanya daan, I felt a rush of emotions.
And just like that, pandit ji declared us husband and wife.
Can I kiss the groom?
Shut up, Vanya! I couldn’t act like a pervert.
Congratulations to me, Ms. Vanya Rudransh Tanwar!
