AWAKENING
VANYA'S POV
Aaravi and I stepped out of the Porsche and entered Drunken Monkey, the trendiest club in Jaisalmer.
At the entrance, the club owner himself was there to greet us with a warm smile.
I couldn't help but wonder who Aaravi's mysterious husband was.
We walked down the red carpet toward the club, the energy buzzing around us.
"Welcome, ma'ams! You're most welcome here," the owner said, guiding us to an exclusive VVIP room.
The scent of alcohol and cigarettes filled the air, mingling with the pulse of lights and music. The room was dim, with colorful lights casting a soft glow over the leather sofas, and a nearby table was stocked with drinks and snacks on ice.
The owner gestured for us to sit. "Have a great time," he said, before leaving us to enjoy.
Sinking into the sofas, we both let out a cheer-finally! I was dressed in a sleek black bodycon dress, revealing my cleavage just enough to add a touch of allure ,my hair pulled back in a high ponytail.
Aaravi, in her silver dress with an elegant updo, looked absolutely stunning. I'd never seen her like this before, and she was glowing with confidence.
"I love your surprise!" I told her, smiling.
"This isn't the surprise," she replied with a smirk.
Curious, I raised an eyebrow. "Then what is?"
She took my hand, pulling me up with an excited smile. We walked out, strutting down the club's hallway, the lights spotlighting us as we entered the main room.
As I scanned the crowd, I spotted familiar faces. My friends-from work, from school-all gathered here.
"Oh my god!" I exclaimed, moving toward them, hugging and greeting everyone.
And then I saw... Tejas. He waved, looking slightly awkward as he approached.
"How are you, Vanya?" he asked, smiling a bit nervously.
I glanced at Aaravi, who shook her head to signal she hadn't invited him.
He explained, "I heard from our friends you'd be here."
"Alright, but could you give me some space, please?" I replied, hoping to avoid any drama tonight.
"Please, Vanya, I know I treated you terribly," he said, his voice softening. "I took you for granted, and you loved me despite that. I was blind to it... but I'm sorry. Just let me be here."
Not wanting to make a scene, I nodded and walked back to my friends by the bar.
"Two virgin Bloody Marys, please," I told the bartender, knowing Aaravi didn't drink either.
With drinks in hand, we started chatting, laughing, and enjoying the night. We were a group of six guys and eight girls, the night unfolding in a perfect blur of joy and memories.
Tejas approached me again, offering a drink. I declined, but he didn't back down.
"Vanya, please. I know I don't deserve it, but I've lost everything since you left. My life fell apart. You were my lucky charm."
I wasn't interested in his apologies. But as he kept talking, I began feeling strangely light-headed, my vision starting to blur. My eyelids grew heavy, and the whole room began to spin.
My friends pulled Aaravi and me onto the dance floor, laughter and music filling the air around us.
My mind felt clouded, my body swaying without control, and I found myself closing my eyes, losing myself in the beat.
But then, a presence caught my attention-a figure moving close. I opened my eyes halfway and saw Tejas near me, his body brushing against mine, his hand reaching toward my waist.
Disoriented, I pulled away, stumbling slightly as I moved in the opposite direction, desperate for distance. My senses were slipping further, leaving me feeling trapped in a fog I couldn't shake.
Struggling to hold onto what little clarity I had, I made my way back to the VIP room.
Trembling, I sank onto the sofa, pressing my fingers to my temples to clear my heavy head. The world was a dizzy blur, and I just wanted a moment to regain control.
Then, I became aware of him again. Tejas was standing over me, his face inches from mine.
His gaze was possessive, his voice low and unsettling as he murmured, "You were always mine, Vanya. I know you still love me. So what if you're married? Just come with me, and we can leave all this behind."
He leaned in, his face dangerously close to mine, his hand gripping my arm as I struggled, my heart racing. I fought to free myself, but the haze in my mind made everything feel like a slow-motion nightmare.
And then, out of nowhere, a voice cut through the tension-a deep, fierce voice filled with fury. " Sure fucker ."
Before I could process it, the room went dark, and everything faded into silence.
*****
I woke with a sharp headache, the kind that made me wish I hadn't woken up at all. The moment I opened my eyes, the unfamiliar surroundings hit me-white walls, soft lighting, and the faint scent of fresh linens.
I glanced around the room, trying to piece together how I had ended up here. The balcony door was slightly open, letting in a gentle breeze that fluttered the white curtains. The air smelled fresh, but it only added to the confusion in my mind.
I sat up slowly, feeling the heaviness in my head, and realized my clothes had been changed. I was now wearing a simple tank top and shorts, completely different from the black bodycon dress I had worn last night.
My fingers instinctively grazed over the fabric, my mind racing. Who had changed me? How had I ended up here?
A flood of memories from the previous night hit me like a storm, and I could feel my stomach churn.
Tejas... that bastard. He had tried to kiss me. I could still feel his hands on me, the way he'd hovered over me, trying to force himself.
I wanted to scream, to tear apart everything in my path, but the pain in my head was too much.
I clenched my fists, trying to push back the anger that surged through me. How could I have let him get that close? How had I ended up in this place?
My mind swirled with the chaos of last night. But before I could process anything further, a voice broke through the haze of my thoughts.
"God bless the dinosaur that died to make the fossil fuel that was treated to become petrol in the car that took your mother to the hospital to give birth to you."
I froze, the voice so familiar, yet distant.
I blinked, my mind still foggy from the haze of last night, but as I looked up, there he was-
Rudransh was standing there, leaning casually against the door, arms crossed over his chest, his eyes glinting with that familiar intensity.
His messy hair added to his rugged look, and even in simple clothes, he managed to look effortlessly put-together, toned as usual.
I found myself staring, before snapping out of it and mentally mocking myself.
"Shut up, pervert," I muttered under my breath, shaking my head at myself.
But then it hit me-my clothes had been changed. My mouth dropped open, and I couldn't help but wonder, Wait, did he...?
Haww, I'm not a pervert! I never changed his clothes when he was asleep, I thought to myself, a little mortified. He's the real pervert here-even worse than I thought!
His soft laugh pulled me out of my racing thoughts, and I looked up to see him smiling as he walked toward me, a tray in his hands. He sat down beside me, holding out a glass of lemonade.
"Relax, pouty lips. I didn't change your clothes-Aarahi did," he said with a smirk.
Relief washed over me for a second, but then his words sank in. Pouty lips? My eyes widened, and I quickly pressed my lips into a straight line, trying to hide my embarrassment.
I snatched the glass from his hand and downed the lemonade in one go, desperate to avoid his gaze.
As I was drinking, he leaned in close-too close-his warm breath brushing against my ear as he murmured, "But I can, if my wife wants..."
The words sent a jolt through me, and I choked on the last sip, coughing as I tried to recover. He laughed softly, patting my back with a smirk. "Relax, go slow," he teased, clearly enjoying himself.
He was doing it on purpose, just to get under my skin. Not giving him the satisfaction, I slid out of bed and headed straight to the bathroom, ignoring his gaze following me.
I took a deep breath as I shut the door, grateful for the escape. After brushing my teeth and stepping under the warm shower, I felt the tension of the night start to melt away.
When I stepped out, I noticed fresh clothes neatly hung on a hook by the door, and I knew instantly who'd set them there.
I got ready and stepped out of the room to find Rudransh talking quietly on the phone.
Noticing me, he gestured towards the table, where a tray of sandwiches, juice, chocolates, and some medicine waited.
But I wasn't about to just sit and eat. No, he had answers to give me, and I had box full of questions.
Determined, I folded my arms, standings tall as I could... I will not..i will not..i will.....I will not sit until he answered every single question.
Yes this one is good..!!
And then I remembered the food . I can't put them on stake ofcourse !!
Deciding I could interrogate him and have breakfast, I picked up a sandwich and took a bite, shooting him a glare.
I was busy munching on my sandwich when I felt him come up behind me. His voice brushed over me, laced with a teasing tone. "You know, Vanya, you can sit comfortably and eat. It's not like the food will just fly away in the middle of the night...."
Oh, so he was mocking me now.
I straightened my brows, glaring as I turned to face him, ready to give him a piece of my mind. But before I could even get a word out, he cut in smoothly.
"Take your time. Have breakfast, then get ready. We're heading home."
