"We're here," Laki interrupted.

Jade looked around. The island was close. She could even see Aian who was standing close to the shore. He was holding a weapon in case something like a Bakasi came to ambush him, or them.

"Stay here for now and rest," she said.

Jade stood up and looked at the ocean, then suddenly her knees gave way. The water was no longer green, rather it was deep blue. From what little knowledge she had about the absorption of light in bodies of water, she knew it only means that there will be no mud, algae or any impurities in the ocean. Most of all, it would be deep, so deep that the water pressure will become fatal even before they reach the bottom.

But that was not the main reason why she lost the strength on her knees. The deep blue color was not the cause of the vertigo that defeated her. It was because of the huge hole on the ocean floor under the boat. Even she, who loves the sea and the creatures on it, was too afraid, that she thought that no one could force her to climb down the boat.

"What, girl? Too afraid to go down now?" Laki asked with a smirk on his face. He was looking down on her.

Despite that, her knees still wobbled. "Can we just look for the materials closer to the shore? Somewhere a few meters away from this sea hole?" she asked, giving a name to that which caused the dizziness in her. 

Laki sneered at her and she took offense on his blase attitude. "What? No human could go down there! We'd be crushed by the water pressure!"

Laki guffawed. "The edge of this seahole's mouth," he started, emphasizing on the term. "Was the most abundant area here. It's where you will find everything you need."

"I won't go down there. I won't kill myself," she said, stubbornly.

Laki frowned at her. Without saying anything, he jumped into the water like a trained, professional diver. In that split second, Jade held her breath, afraid that Laki had just killed himself. 

Suddenly, Laki's head pop out from the ocean surface. "See? I'm still alive," he said in a mocking tone.
