The Heart
He never chose this path.
To receive a Keyblade.
All he seems to be is a boy with a heart for his friends.
What if it never happened to him?
What if it truly was his always destined for his brighter best friend?
He may not be a master, but he weilds his blade.
He may not be a knight, but he still protects his kingdom.
He may doubt himself, but he still fights on.
He may have friends... but do they still need saving?
Now his friends are stronger.
They can defend themselves.
They can fight the growing darkness.
They can protect what matters most to them.
They can do all the things he could.
If they can, then why save them?
Why does he still matter?
Why does he seem like a pawn in a chess game, already cast aside?
Why does he feel like a Nobody?
These thoughts might not be worth thinking.
After all, he is not the hero in any of these stories.
It is always him instead.
The one who looks like the true knight for his kingdom.
Why be made out to be a hero when you aren't?
These thoughts crossed his mind numerous times.
If he isn't the savior then what could he be?
A pawn in chess?
An average soldier on the battlefield?
A flimsy weilder of a sacred weapon?
Maybe even Heartless for thinking this?
But then why think it if others say it isn't true?
What role could he perform in such a strange play,
that even seemed to compare to the stars?
What could make him seem important in the first place?
And why continue on if it seems like this?
The heart works in mysterious ways.
It can help you see the truth in others.
It can help you feel the warmth of another.
It can help you smell the fresh air of an ocean breeze.
It can help you touch the waters that lie before you.
It can let you taste something sweet or even salty.
So he soldiered on no matter how he felt.
Cause he knew while he trekked that while his role might help,
he may not be the true hero in this story.
And in the end, he may not even get the girl.
