It was beautiful when I arrived.

I remember just sitting in the car and taking in all my surroundings;

the lush green grass with the forest beyond it, people having an early evening stroll around the small field.

Over on the left I saw the six lodges which appeared to grow out of the ground;

They were covered in moss and poison ivy.

Later I'd learn that each door was ornately carved with lily pads and numbers 1-6 were printed in the center.

Of course, later I'd come across the pond, but at that point I was blissfully unaware of what was to come.
