Chapter 64
Anti's POV
Dark and I stared blankly at the wall. What the hell?
"Mark?" I called. No response.
Dark sighed, "Okay, we'll get back to the wall appearing out of nowhere in a minute, but were you about to tell Mark that–"
I threw my hands over my ears. I knew I shouldn't have brought it up. I pinched the sides of my head before looking at Dark.
I moved my hands and smiled. "I doubt Mark'll figure out what I was gonna say. We could probably just play it off like I didn't say anything about him not having to explain this situation to his friends."
Dark blinked. "You do realize that he's with Dan, Phil, and Logan in a place where you can't get them to shut up, right?"
I sighed out of frustration as I stood against the wall and sunk down to the floor. "I shouldn't have mentioned anything," I grumbled.
Dark rolled his eyes. "If it all works out the right way, it could be fun. I, for one, would love to be able to bother Mark at all times."
I shifted my eyes away from the floor to Dark. "We do need to tell them. Preferably soon."
Dark nodded. "Yeah, but we won't be able to do that if this plan fails. We need to go find Felix."
I put my head between my knees and exclaimed in a muffled voice, "And how exactly are we supposed to distract Felix long enough for them to get Percy out of the dungeon? The second Felix sees us, we're dead."
Dark poked the wall. "I actually think Felix already knows we're here. He probably made the wall appear to force us to go to him quicker."
My head jolted upright and I sprung off the ground. "He was separating me and you from everyone else."
Dark sent me a confused glance. "Yeah? I thought we already established that."
"No!" I exclaimed as I ran a hand through my hair. "There must be a trap or something waiting for the others in the dungeon! You and I would have connected those dots! We've known Felix since we were kids! We know how his mind works!" I stared at the wall, then back to Dark. "We need to keep Felix busy for as long as possible."
Dark nodded before his eyes went wide. "He's using Cry."
"Shit!" I yelled as I turned around to punch the wall. I swung my fist at it, but stopped short.
Well, I didn't stop short, more like someone grabbed my arm. "Don't hurt yourself. I refuse to deal with your whining while we walk around trying to find Felix."
I spun around to face Dark. "First of all, I wouldn't be the one whining. I can deal with a bit of blood, unlike someone. Secondly, if everyone else has to deal with Cry, I think we should at least beat the shit out of Felix–"
"Shouldn't we, oh, I don't know, not get kicked out of the castle for the second time?" Dark asked with a grimace.
"Mind you, I fight considerably better now than when I was nineteen," I shot back.
"We'd still get kicked out," Dark replied matter-of-factly.
"Whatever, let's just go find Felix and try not to get on his list of people to execute."
As we started walking down one of the hallways, Dark commented, "Do you think he's waiting for an apology?"
"I'm expecting him to apologize to us, definitely not the other way around."
"I didn't ask what you expected, I asked what Felix wants. He probably thinks we betrayed him or something." We turned a corner to the left. "Isn't his throne room to the right?"
I stopped and turned around. "Do you think he's just waiting in his throne room? I feel like Felix is far too cunning to just wait in the obvious spot."
"Oh no," Dark whispered as his eyes widened.
"What?"
"What if...what if Felix is in the dungeon?"
"You know, it's funny. I always thought you were the one to piece everything together," a familiar, perky voice rang throughout the hallway.
I exchanged glances with Dark before he yelled, "Felix, you son of a bitch, where are you?"
He laughed sinisterly, "That's for me to know and–"
"Us to find out," Dark and I finished in mocking voices.
Felix sighed, "You two are just as annoyingly in sync as I remember you to be."
"You still sound like a prepubescent twelve-year-old," I muttered under my breath.
Dark nudged my arm. "Felix, we need to talk. I think both sides of this fight has something that needs explaining."
There was a short pause. "The hell do you two have to explain? What happened was pretty clear from where I stand."
"And what exactly happened?" I retorted. "All I remember was being shaken awake by some knights, then thrown outside with Dark."
"I wouldn't have done that had the two of you not betrayed me. The both of you–"
"Can you just tell us where you are so that we can talk face to face?" Dark asked, irritation putting an edge on his voice.
"Why? So you can assassinate me?" Felix asked, his voice uneasy.
Dark and I exchanged glances. "Assassinate you?" I repeated.
A door at the end of the hallway swung open before Felix walked out. Dark and I took a step back. He wasn't in his crown, nor any of the things he would normally have had on. Just the sight of him led me to believe that he hadn't showered in several days. His hair was a tangled mess on his head and he practically had dirt falling off of him.
He was also pretty much radiating depression.
"What happened?" Dark asked in a worried voice.
Felix ran his hand through his grimy hair. "The both of you."
"You're gonna have to be more specific," I replied, frowning.
"The day I had you two kicked out was the day my father found a list of the knights' names under the title 'Kill List'. It was written in your hand writing." He motioned toward me. "And since Dark was your best friend, he had to be kicked out as well. I assumed he was in on it."
"To start off this argument, why the hell would I title something like that 'Kill List'? You've known me long enough to know that I would've been way more secrete than that," I defended.
Dark nodded. "There's also the fact that why the hell would we want to murder your knights when you let us live here for nineteen years?"
"After it was talked over, everyone agreed that you were after the throne. You were going to kill off the knights, then assassinate me. I argued for a long time that you two were too much of pushovers to ever do something like that, but no one believed me," Felix explained.
"So you trusted us, but we were still kicked out?" I asked.
Felix looked at the ground, then nodded. "You guys know my dad. There's no convincing him of something once he's got his mind set on something else."
Dark clenched his fists at his sides. "So you were never really mad at us? It was all your father?"
Felix crossed his arms over his chest and stared at the floor. I could've sworn I saw a tear drop from his face. "Yeah, and my dad's done a lot worse since then. He refused to let me go try to clear any of this up with you guys and recently decided that Percy's life was going to be taken because of you."
"Speaking of Percy, where is he? In the dungeon, I assume?" I commented.
Felix shook his head. "My dad figured you would check there, so he moved Percy down to the courtyard sooner than he planned." He wiped his eyes. "Sorry."
I elbowed Dark and whispered, "Would ya look at that. He apologized!"
Dark elbowed me hard in the ribs. "Would you shut up? He's being sincere."
Felix chuckled while a tear dripped down his face, "You two actually haven't changed at all."
I smiled, but it quickly dropped as Dark's grip tightened around my forearm. "Hey–"
"Shut up," he demanded as he dragged me over to Felix. We stopped once we were a few feet away.
Felix looked up at us with tears in his eyes and a red face. "What–"
I understood what Dark was getting at, so I went with it without hesitation. Dark and I both dove at Felix and hugged him while he erupted into a fit of happy sobs.
A/N
I've had this planned for so long and every time someone got triggered in the comments about "IF FELIX HURT MY GREEN SON I SWEAR-" I just started laughing really hard and it took everything I had to not reply with "Chill the frick out it's all good"
Also, Felix crying happy tears made me happy and fUCK HAPPY EMOTIONS
Anyways, BUH-BYE BROTATOES!
