Chapter 36

Reagan's POV

I set the laptop down on the bed, knowing that I couldn't contact anyone if I couldn't get off of Netflix. I walked toward the door and tried to open it, but it was locked from the outside.

"WHAT'S GOING ON?!" I yelled.

A few minutes passed, during which nothing happened. Finally, though, a small paper was slipped under the door.

Reagan,
Forgive us.

Forgive us? Forgive who? And what did they do?

I was beginning to worry. From not being able to switch the tab on the laptop to get information, to receiving an anonymous note, I was freaking out a bit.

I clenched the typed note in my fist as I paced in the room I was in, trying to sort through the problem at hand.

If I yelled for help, would anyone be able to hear me? I doubted it. The orphanage was huge and I'd never been in this room before.

Which meant that everyone else was probably nowhere near me.

I looked at the laptop on the bed and the buffet on the desk.

It was too good to be true.

There was no way this was real. Not when the people who would've given it to me were the ones trying to kill me and my friends.

Though, the people who put me in this room were most likely the same people who slipped the note under my door.

They wanted my forgiveness?

I needed answers, and the only way to get those answers would be to talk to the people who locked me in this room. I had to trick them into coming here.

My glance fell upon the laptop and I stopped pacing. It looked expensive enough to get their attention.

If by chance there was a camera or a person watching me.

I decided that smashing an expensive laptop wouldn't do any harm to me even if I wasn't being watched.

I walked to the bed and picked up the laptop. I held it in my hands and looked around the room for any sign of a camera or someone watching me. I noticed a small lens poking out of the desk drawer.

I smirked at the camera before lifting the laptop above my head, preparing to launch it at the wall next to the door. I leaned back and began to throw it, but right before it left my fingers, the voice came on over a speaker.

"You do know that if that breaks, it's your fault, right?"

"Well obviously!" I practically screamed.

"Why would you break a brand new laptop that we bought just for you?"

I smiled at the camera before turning around and gently tossing the laptop onto the bed. I whirled back around and stared at the camera. "Because I need some answers and you're going to give them to me."

The voice let out a laugh, "You could've just asked to talk to me, you know."

"Alright, first question!" I began. "What's your name and why are you interested in me and my friends?"

"That's two questions."

"Just answer them!" I demanded.

"Hmm, let me think," the voice started in a sarcastic tone, "the first one's something you need to find out on your own, and the second one is simple. We're interested in you and your friends because you're important to us."

I sighed, "Would you mind elaborating on that?"

"You're critical to what we have planned. You all play a specific role in what is yet to come."

I gulped. "And, uh, what exactly is coming?"

"Oh, it's already started, Reagan. Don't you wonder why you haven't run into any of the other orphans? I mean, more than just you four were here the night the lights shut off and the doors locked. So what could have possibly happened to your other friends?"

I trembled as my mind raced a hundred miles per hour. Scenario after scenario played out in my mind of the awful things that could've happened to all the other orphans.

Then, I thought about Percy.

We still hadn't found him.

The voice was referring to Percy.

"Where's Percy?" I asked with a shaky voice.

The voice laughed menacingly, "Percy? Oh, you see, he's with the other orphans. But don't worry, he's still alive. For now."

"What do you mean 'for now'?! What are you doing to him?!" I demanded.

The voice snickered, "Well, every hour we drag a knife across his right collar bone. We let his screams fill the air. Then, since he's tied to a metal table and we've put him on medication that keeps him from falling asleep, we experiment with new things. We stab him in a variety of places, drag the knife along new territory, and simply put, torture him."

"Why the hell would you do that?!" I screamed.

"He insisted that we do it to him instead of you, so that's exactly what we did. So, in a manner of speaking, his pain is because of you."

I narrowed my eyes at the camera. "Listen here you little bitch, and you listen good. If I'm not the one dragging a fucking knife across his skin, then it isn't my fault. The two things I can't stand in life are people hurting my friends, and people blaming stuff on me. You just did both."

The voice snickered, "Wow, I'm so scared."

"And you should be. Not only are you going to have to deal with me at the end of this, but you're also going to have to deal with Nate, Jason, Percy, and the YouTubers. Here's a quick piece of advice: let us go, or get ready to get fucked up, because we're all getting out of this no matter what. The only question that remains at this point is if you're going to let us leave or die trying to stop us."

The voice stopped talking.

I looked away from the camera and back to the bed. I walked to it and picked up the laptop. After setting the laptop down on the desk, I crawled under the covers.

If I fell asleep and went to my dreamscape, I could make people appear just by thinking of them.

I closed my eyes and after a few minutes, I began to drift to sleep.

···

I was back in my dreamscape.

The walls were still blue from the last time I was here, and the floors were still the same black tiles they had always been. I smiled to myself and ran around the room.

I tried to start with basic stuff, so I thought a multitude of colors in my head. Every time I thought of a new color, the tile I had my foot on would turn that color.

Next, I thought of Percy. If I could get him here, I could get him to answer some things more straight forward than the voice had. He would be able to tell me where he was, then I could tell everyone else once they found me.

I thought of Percy for roughly ten minutes. Memories of him, his appearance, the last time I saw him, and everything else.

But he didn't show up.

Meaning that the voice hadn't been lying. Percy was on medication to ensure that he didn't fall asleep.

I decided that I would try to think of someone else.

Last I heard, Dan was dealing with a psychotic Phil, and Nate and Jason were trying to calm him down. I couldn't bring any of them here because they would basically drop dead in their tracks, causing everyone else to freak out even more.

Felix?

He should be with them too, but Cry would take care of him, right?

I decided to focus on Felix next, but he didn't come either.

Maybe he had been taken and put on the medication as well?

Or he could be...dead.

I sighed and pushed the thought aside. Felix wouldn't die that easily, would he?

Then, my thoughts flowed to Jack.

I talked to him just the night before, so he would be fine, right?

I took in a deep breath I focused all of my energy on Jack. I thought of all his YouTube videos I'd seen and got a clear vision of him in my head, but it didn't work either.

I then thought about what he had called me that night before. He had been trying to come up with a nickname for me.

Reg? Regiplier? SepticReg?

Then, right in front of my eyes, Jack appeared.

Drenched in blood and barely breathing.
