Chapter 11
Mark's POV
Dan was listening intently as Phil and Nate spoke. He was probably wondering if Phil was okay as well.
"Yeah, I'm fine Nate," Phil said, forcing cheerfulness.
"You were screaming for several minutes straight. There's no way you're fine," Nate replied.
Phil sighed, "Listen Nate–"
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!" Felix screeched next to me.
I whipped my head around toward Felix to find him staring at the lobby door. "Felix, calm down," Cry reacted cautiously.
"THAT DOOR WASN'T CLOSED BEFORE!" he yelled.
The door was closed. Someone had to have closed it, right?
Jason walked over to Felix and tried to calm him down, "Someone closed it. It didn't just close itself."
He reached for the handle, but Reagan quickly pulled him back. "The handle's hot, remember?"
Jason laughed nervously, "Sorry, forgot."
Reagan rolled her eyes and grabbed the rug off the ground where we had left it. She carefully placed it on the handle and twisted it, but it didn't budge.
"Umm, how hard was it to turn this handle when you guys tried?" Reagan asked.
"It turned right away when we tried..." Dan mumbled, sadness in his voice. I was certain he was sadder that Phil was being tortured than the handle not turning, though.
"ARE YOU TELLING ME WE'RE LOCKED IN HERE?!" Felix shrieked.
"Yes, but it is up to you how long you are."
It was a different voice talking. This one sounded more masculine than feminine, and quite a bit calmer too.
Two voices.
Fantastic.
"And what exactly does that mean?" Reagan directed at the ceiling.
"You don't need to look up, kid. I'm right here," the new voice replied from behind us. We all whipped our heads around toward the source of the sound.
It was wearing a black robe, so we couldn't quite see it.
"Do I need to repeat my question?" Reagan asked. Her voice was normal, as if she wasn't nervous or shaken up at all. I wish I was as brave as this kid.
"No need for that," the figure started, "though, I will say, I thought you would be the smart one of the group, Reagan."
"How do you know her name?" I asked at the same time Reagan asked, "How do you know my name?"
"Why don't we start with some easier questions?" the figure proposed.
"Alright," Dan started, approaching the figure, "what's your name?"
"Name's John, and you're Dan. Nice to finally meet you in person."
"Alright, that's it," I walked up beside Dan and I felt Reagan following right behind me, "how the fu–"
"Restrain yourself from cussing and continue," John cut me off.
I could feel the smirk forming on Reagan's face. "We can't cuss around you?" she asked innocently.
"I would prefer if you tried no–"
"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" Reagan started chanting.
I laughed and began chanting it with her.
John cut us off mid-fuck as he announced, "Follow my rules, or I won't help you."
"We're screwed!" Jason shouted. "How are you gonna help? All we know about you as that your name's John and that you somehow know our names!"
"Calm down–"
"If you say my name before explaining, I will kill you," Jason interrupted.
John sighed, "I'm not explaining how I know your name and Reagan's. That answer will reveal itself soon enough. As for the YouTubers, who doesn't know your names?"
"Okay, fine, what did you mean when you said you could help us?" Felix huffed out. Personally, I didn't want to drop the whole 'I know your names and you never told them to me' thing, but I also wanted this dude's help.
"I mean I know this place better than those kids–"
"That's impossible," Reagan and Jason retorted in sync. They glanced at each other for a second, before staring at John.
"Well, you two seemed pretty surprised when you saw that door behind Ms. Higgins' body."
"Are you saying–" Reagan started, only to be cut off by John, "that I know what's behind that door? Yes."
"I was gonna say 'watching us', but yeah, that too," Reagan mumbled.
John's eyes widened, "Oh, uh, sorr–"
"YOU KNOW WHAT'S BEHIND THE DOOR?!" Jason yelled.
He looked ready to punch something out of excitement. John's eyes lit up, "Yes, I do! I can lead you to the door! You just have to follow me!"
I wasn't sure what to say, but one thing I knew for certain was that I wasn't following him without more details. "What's behind the door, though?"
He smiled at me as he answered, "I think the surprise aspect will make it a lot more fun."
What the heck does that mean?
I looked at Reagan to see a giant smile on her face. "I think I know what–"
"Reagan, if you know what it is, you know what I mean."
She nodded her head. "If I know what it is. You don't have to worry though, I don't share very often."
We were all staring her down, but she didn't seem to care. "Lead the way, John," Felix decided.
John nodded his head and began taking us down a hallway. Reagan was skipping along, in between Jason and I. I turned around to see Felix and Cry talking while they walked.
The next thing I knew, I was being shoved into a dorm room by Dan.
"Dan, what–"
"Shush!" he whisper-screamed at me, as he quietly closed the door.
"Dan, I don't want to leave the kids with John–"
"Felix and Cry are with them. Now, I need you to listen to me about something serious."
I nodded my head, and he continued, "Phil, Jack, Percy, and Nate are being tortured. John appeared out of nowhere and just happens to know all of our names. Now, without giving us any details about what's behind the door, he's leading us straight to it. Do you honestly trust this?"
"Of course I don't trust this!" I started yelling without thinking, "But this is our best bet of getting to them!" I started crying, "It's our best chance of getting to them! To getting to Jack! To saving him!"
There were tears threatening to spill out of Dan's eyes, as he replied, "Saving everyone." He took a step toward me and hugged me. I couldn't help but cry into his shoulder.
We stood like that for about half a second before Reagan sprinted into the dorm. "YOU GUYS WON'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED!"
Felix's POV
I saw Dan drag Mark into one of the dorms. Reagan and Jason were walking in front of Cry and I. John was leading all of us.
This was probably the most privacy I would get for a long time.
"Hey, Cry?"
"What's up?"
I took a deep breath. You can do this. You can do this.
"Ya know how we're fostering Percy?"
He nodded his head, "Duh. What about it?"
"Well, it's going to be in a YouTube series, and I guarantee people are going to be asking if any of us are actually together."
"What's your point?" Cry asked, smiling a bit.
Here goes nothing.
"Well, for the sake of all the fangirls and fanboys out there–"
I stopped in my tracks. Cry noticed I stopped, and he turned to face me, with raised eyebrows. I didn't wait for him to get comfortable, I just grabbed his face and smashed it against mine.
He pulled away instantly.
Shit. ABORT MISSION! REPEAT! MISSION ABORT!
He stared into my eyes for a second. He smirked at me, before commenting, "Ya know, it'd be a lot more comfortable without this."
He took off his mask and I took a second to stare. I mean, I didn't know he could get any more attractive!
My mouth hung agape but quickly turned into a smile, as he slowly leaned in and pressed our lips back together. I placed one hand around his neck and the other on the back of his head. His hands held my waist, keeping me in place. Keeping me pressed up against him.
I heard a gasp and Reagan squealing in the background, "PEWDIECRY CONFIRMED!"
Loud footfalls raced passed us, and I heard, what sounded like, a phone camera going off. I ignored it, though, as I tilted my head to deepen the kiss.
Mark's POV
"YOU GUYS WON'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED!" Reagan yelled.
I broke away from Dan and stared at Reagan. She had a huge smile on her face, as if she had just witnessed someone she hates getting yelled at by a teacher.
"What's wrong?!" Dan asked, sounding worried.
"NOTHING'S WRONG! SOMETHING'S AMAZING THOUGH!" she yelled as she grabbed mine and Dan's arms and started racing out of the dorm.
Once we got into the hallway, I heard Jason squealing. I looked toward the source of the sound to find Felix and Cry kissing.
Wait, FELIX AND CRY KISSING?!
"HOLY SH–"
"WHY WON'T YOU WEIRDOS STOP CUSSING?!" John cut me off.
Felix pulled away from Cry after he heard my voice. He was a blushing mess once he saw Dan and I. I was able to see Cry after Felix pulled away. He wasn't wearing his mask, "Whoa, Cry–"
"You saw nothing," he responded with a straight face, blushing a bit.
"Well," John started, "let's keep heading to the door."
