Lucille was batsh*t crazy for a reason

Misty

When I asked Lucille for help, I figured she would give us suggestions that would cripple our opponents. I wasn't expecting it would involve speaking to the douche or not speaking to him. The whole idea confuses the hell out of me.

Nash had to loosen his protectiveness on me so we could follow Lucille's plan. He didn't like it since I heard him bitch about it nonstop, but he relented reluctantly. Since Aiden refused to follow Nash's lead with Eden, Nixon volunteered Kat as tribute, and she had no issue helping me. Did I mention my bestie enjoyed participating in devious ideas?

Since homecoming was coming, Kat and I headed to the store to look for dresses. We moved hangers, looking for a dress until we found something. Kat found a burgundy, mid-thigh satin dress with spaghetti straps. I opted for a pale pink, knee-length chiffon dress with inch straps. Next were shoes. Once we got what we needed, we headed to a diner to grab a bite.

We slid into a booth opposite each other and grabbed a menu from a placeholder on the table.

"I can't believe Nash loosened his reins on you," Kat mentioned.

"I get why Nash keeps me on a tight leash, but normal couples aren't up each other's asses twenty-four-seven."

Kat giggled.

The waitress took our orders and returned with our pops before leaving again.

"You must admit this Nash is much better than the previous one."

"It's nice to know Nash isn't flirting with any female within a ten-mile radius," I said.

Kat nodded in agreement. "I never understood why he would flirt with other girls when he proclaimed you were everything he wanted. It never made sense to me."

"It never made sense to anyone. Why date someone if you want to flirt with other girls?" I shook my head at the logic. "Stay single."

"Or better yet, stay single instead of cheating. I never got the concept of having a side piece. It's like eating dessert with the main dish."

"That's the whole concept of having your dessert and eating it, too."

Kat laughed.

The waitress returned with our food before leaving again. While we ate our burgers, Bryce approached our booth. Time to implement Lucille's plan. It's showtime, folks.

"I can't believe you're stalking me now," Bryce said loudly, trying to catch the other customer's attention.

I put on my best-confused face. "Excuse me? Do I know you?"

"You accused me of being dead, which I'm not."

"You must have me confused with someone else. I've never met you before, " I said, shaking my head.

"Yes, you have." His voice increased by ten octaves.

"No, I'm sure I've never met you before." I shook my head again.

"Why are you lying?"

I pinched my brows together. "I wouldn't lie."

Bryce became unhinged at that moment. "Stop lying, you crazy bitch!"

I gasped in fright.

Kat slid out of her seat and got in his face. "Back off! My friend said she doesn't know you."

Bryce leaned into Kat's face. "Bullshit. You're a liar, too."

"Yo, assjacker! I suggest you step away from our girls before I make you," Nathan said.

We glanced at Nathan and Noah standing in the diner. Bryce pulled his brows in confusion as the demon spawn approached our table. Noah pressed two fingers against Bryce's shoulder to move him back before sliding in beside me. Nathan slipped his arm around Kat's waist.

Bryce whipped his head back and forth between us, trying to figure out what was happening. The other diners were watching the shitshow happening in the restaurant. We waited for Bryce to say something about the change of partners, but he didn't and retreated like the devious bitch he was. I'm sure he was heading to Trixie to give her the glorious news about Nash.

Kat slipped back into her spot, and Nathan joined her. The waitress came to the table to take Nathan and Noah's orders before leaving again.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Nash wanted to check on you because he's being a whiny bitch," Nathan said.

"Don't let Nash hear you call him a whiny bitch," Kat giggled.

"It's not anything he hasn't heard before." Nathan shrugged.

Kat and I laughed.

"Nash wanted to ensure Chicken Little didn't touch you because your necklace is on the fritz," Noah told me.

I placed my thumb and finger on the locket and played with it.

"I don't understand why Maggie's necklace stopped working," Kat said.

"We're thinking it got damaged when that asshat ripped it from Maggie's neck." Noah gestured between Nathan and himself.

Nathan nodded in agreement.

The waitress returned with their pops and food before leaving again.

"Whatever the case is, Maggie's a human target," Nathan said.

We nodded in agreement.

The idea of Mags without me didn't sit well with me. Not with her necklace on the fritz. So I sent the demon spawn to check on her.

Nix, Nolan, and I sat at a table in the bakery while the demon spawn played their part. It didn't help that Trixie spotted me and made a beeline to our table.

"Incoming hag," Nix said.

I rolled my eyes.

Trixie reached our table and licked her lips, trying to look seductive. She didn't. "Hey, Tino."

I said nothing but drew in my brows.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news," she leaned toward me, making me gag on her perfume, "but your so-called girlfriend is cheating on you." She smirked evilly.

"How do you know Misty is cheating?" Nolan asked.

Trixie stood erect and smirked. "I have my sources."

"Names or it didn't happen, you dumpster fire."

Nix and I kept a neutral expression.

"A reporter never reveals their source," Trixie proffered.

"Newsflash, you half-wit. You're not a damn reporter, so the first amendment doesn't apply to you."

"Excuse me." She put her hand on her waist and popped her hip. "That's freedom of speech."

Nolan rolled his eyes. "You can't be this damn stupid. How the hell did you graduate high school? The First Amendment includes religion, speech, and press. Christ. I need a drink before I lose any more brain cells." He got up and headed to the counter to get another coffee.

Trixie's face turned red in anger. "Who the hell does he think he is talking like that to me?"

"Since you showed your lack of understanding, he explained it. Then again, what do we expect from a cumdumpster. Less time on your back and more time with a book will help to rectify that issue," Nix said.

Before Trixie could open her mouth, the demon spawn, Kat, and Mags arrived. They strolled to our table. When Mags reached me, I pulled her onto my lap and gave her a kiss that would turn any girl's panty into a soaking mess.

Nolan returned to the table and looked at Trixie in annoyance. "Are you still here? There's a dumpster out back with your name written on it."

Trixie growled like a wild animal.

"Oh, Misty. Trixie claims you were cheating on Tino," Nix told Mags.

"I was?" Mags drew her brows together in confusion. "That's interesting since Kat and I ran into Nathan and Noah and had lunch with them. Didn't we, boys?"

The demon spawn nodded.

Everyone looked at Trixie with raised brows. She glanced between us before turning on her heels and stomping from the bakery.

"It's about damn time," Nolan huffed.

Everyone laughed as I captured Mags' lips again.

Trixie's expression was priceless since Bryce must have called her after he left the diner. Here's the problem with rumors. They make you look like a fool when you discover the truth. This can also be said when Noah mentions touching Bryce with two fingers. Nash leaned over, pressed his finger to Noah's leg, and zapped him.

Noah jumped out of his chair and danced around, rubbing his leg. "Christ, Nash."

"I had to break the connection when you touched Bryce." Nash shrugged.

"I hate it when you zap me. That shit hurts."

"It's better than getting linked to a psycho," Nolan said.

Nathan rolled his eyes. "Who cares? How much longer do we need to deal with these two bitches? They're making my dick itch and not in a pleasant way."

"It's not our fault Nash has a reoccurring yeast infection trying to land on his dick," Nolan said.

Nash scrunched his nose in disgust.

"We must keep dangling the carrot until we figure out their plan. With Maggie's locket taking a siesta, it makes our job more challenging to pin down these things," Nixon said.

"Can't you jumpstart that stupid thing?" Nathan asked Nash.

"I'm not a human battery pack," Nash said.

"Are you sure?" Noah asked.

Nash raised his brow before shaking his head and looking at Nixon. "Can you talk to Castiel about Mags's evil eye and find out any information about it?"

"I can check. I'm unsure how much help Castiel will be since he speaks in riddles." Nixon rolled his eyes.

"Anything will help at this point. I want to finish the sophomore year without getting hurt."

"You're asking for a lot. Perhaps you should lower your expectations. It's less of a disappointment."

If I wasn't sitting on Nash's lap, he would have jumped over the table and shocked Nixon. Luckily for Nixon, he was safe for now.
