Previous Life

- In August 2029, the People's Republic of China faced its worst economic downturn since the Great Depression of 1929. The economy had severely declined due to rampant corruption within the CCP, coupled with a lack of meaningful progress for the country. The situation worsened as, even after the end of COVID-19, strict safety procedures remained in place, creating widespread dissatisfaction. This led to riots, primarily driven by the younger generation, breaking out across various provinces. In response, the CCP deployed entire police divisions to suppress the unrest, including in Anhui province.

- In the province of Anhui, riot police were deployed to suppress a mixed group of protesters and rioters, determined to put an end to the unrest. When the protesters began throwing objects at the officers, the riot police responded by opening fire, resulting in 764 casualties. The Chinese government attempted to cover up the massacre, but news of the tragedy quickly spread across the country through eyewitness accounts. Outraged by the unjustified violence, the people formed a rebellion group to stand against the corrupt CCP government. Their goal was to overthrow the regime and establish a republic, fulfilling the younger generation's long-standing desire to break free from the stagnating ideals of communism.

- One day, everything changed in China. A massive meteor crashed into Lhamo La-Tso Lake in Tibet. The meteor cracked open, releasing a mysterious gas that spread across the surrounding lands. Animals exposed to the gas underwent rapid genetic mutations, transforming into feral, monstrous creatures. Some remained small, while others grew to enormous sizes due to the effects of the unknown gas. These creatures, named Yecha, bore a striking resemblance to mythical demons from Chinese folklore. They quickly spread across the province of Tibet, with many moving westward and others heading east, threatening to step onto Chinese soil.

- As the CCP and Chinese rebels clashed in the midst of the rebellion, the Yechas appeared, wreaking havoc on everything and everyone in their path. Despite possessing a modernized military arsenal, the People's Liberation Army proved woefully unprepared to stand against the monstrous creatures. Following a devastating military defeat, the Yechas advanced to Beijing, leaving the capital city in ruins. Most CCP politicians, including President Xi Jinping, were killed in the chaos. However, a small number of officials managed to escape the devastation and established a provisional government to combat the monstrous threat. Unfortunately for the rebels, they too suffered catastrophic losses from the Yecha attacks and were forced to integrate into the provisional government for survival.

- The UN issued an urgent alert as Yechas began attacking countries across Russia, Africa, and much of Eastern Europe. To make matters worse, the creatures started building nests to breed and rapidly increase their numbers, further overwhelming humanity. Adding to the crisis, flying Yechas emerged, capable of traveling across the globe to invade other countries overseas.

- The United States mobilized its military to combat the Yecha invasion as the creatures reached the eastern side of the continent. The president relocated to Colorado, where a secure underground presidential bunker with numerous rooms had been constructed. Despite the military's efforts, the Yechas overwhelmed numerous states, swarming in numbers that outmatched U.S. forces. Faced with a worsening situation, the president authorized nuclear strikes on the captured states to eliminate the Yechas before they could establish nests. The nuclear warheads were launched, obliterating the Yecha-controlled areas.

However, this decision backfired disastrously. The surviving Yechas, exposed to radiation, mutated further, becoming stronger and more powerful than ever. This catastrophic miscalculation allowed the Yechas to expand across the western United States, overwhelming states unable to hold them off. Overcome with shame and guilt for inadvertently strengthening the enemy, the president took his own life in his bunker. Vice President Henry W. Madison was sworn in as the new president, tasked with doing whatever it took to confront the Yecha invasion.

- The Yecha invaded North Korea, overwhelming the country within hours and killing the aging Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un, effectively ending his regime. They then advanced into South Korea, where the military attempted to resist the monstrous invasion. However, they stood little chance against the newly mutated Yecha, which had developed the ability to spit acid capable of melting materials, including metal tanks. Within minutes, South Korea fell to the Yecha.

- In the province of Guangdong, where the provincial government had been established following the collapse of the CCP, a group of technocratic Chinese scientists arrived with a proposal to combat the Yecha invasion. After capturing a weakened Yecha, which had suffered significant damage from the Chinese military, they used its genetic material to develop a potential solution against the monsters. The scientists then selected a group of volunteers—primarily orphans who had lost everything to the Yecha—and began experimenting on them. By injecting the altered Yecha genes into their bodies, they transformed these individuals into superhumans. These enhanced warriors, known as Shāshǒu or "Slayers," were now the mightiest fighters, dedicated to using their newfound powers to combat the Yecha.

- Among the Slayers was a young adult boy named Jingting Qiang, whose black hair had turned white due to the altered Yecha genes injected into his body. Alongside the others, he dedicated his warrior's spirit to fight the monstrous threat plaguing the world.

- When the Slayers were deployed to the battlefield, their efforts proved successful as they battled the Yecha using both ranged and melee weapons, harnessing their superhuman strength and speed to take down the monsters. With the assistance of the military, they were able to push the enemy back from the surrounding areas of Guangdong. However, their progress was slow.

- Meanwhile, Russia deployed its entire nuclear arsenal in an attempt to destroy the monsters invading their land. However, their mistake was irradiating the creatures, which only caused them to mutate further. The mutated Yechas destroyed everything in their path, leaving Russia a devastated wasteland. Europe lost nearly everything, with the surviving population either fleeing to safer locations or heading to the UK, the last bastion still unaffected by the Yecha invasion. The USA lost the entire continent, forcing the remaining Americans to relocate to Canada, where they sought refuge, though with limited military forces to combat the Yecha monsters. Africa became a "hotbed" wasteland, with the Yechas conquering most of the continent. The Middle East also made efforts to resist, but one of the most tragic casualties was Israel, where both Israelis and Palestinians fell victim to the Yecha monsters. In response, South Asian countries and Australia formed an emergency alliance called the Humanity Haven Alliance, doing whatever they could to fight the monsters and protect the remnants of humanity, which was on the brink of extinction.

- Three months later, after intense fighting, things were not as they seemed for the Chinese provincial government. The Slayers had begun to deplete in numbers due to the overwhelming swarm of Yecha. Even worse, a new type of Yecha emerged—called the Yōulíng, or "Wraiths." These creatures were far more dangerous to the Slayers, as they were once human beings who had been infected and mutated into new predators. Their strength, power, and, worst of all, intelligence made them formidable opponents. The Yōulíng brought devastation to the Slayers, causing their numbers to dwindle and morale to plummet.

- As the number of Slayers continued to decrease, the provincial government, now known as the New Socialist State of Guangdong, decided to recruit more orphans—and even take children from their parents without consent—to fight the Yecha and Yōulíng monsters. From that point on, the military would be withdrawn to protect the remaining territory, while the Slayers would be treated as expendable warriors. The government would create as many Slayers as possible, using them to fight the monsters until their last breath. Any Slayer who attempted to retreat would face punishment for cowardice.

- Seeing the provincial government's actions, which were driven by surviving CCP members with no coordinated solutions or resources to create new weapons, Jingting Qiang felt overwhelming anger. Not only had they neglected their responsibilities, but they had also resorted to simplistic solutions to address the crisis. Worse still, they were responsible for sending the Slayers into meaningless battles with no strategic plans, which led to the deaths of his comrades—including his girlfriend, Jing, whom he had fallen in love with. Her death, along with the others, fueled his hatred toward the government. His rage unlocked his full potential, a power unlike anything humanity had ever seen. He unleashed his fury on the Yecha and Yōulíng in the area before heading to Guangdong, seeking justice for his fallen comrades under the thumb of a corrupt, negligent government.

- His rage led to the destruction of the NSSG military force when they attempted to stop him, using everything they had to prevent him from reaching the capital city of Guangdong. The city had been surrounded by a massive wall, but the outer areas remained unprotected, vulnerable to the Yecha if they breached the defenses. Ironically, it was Jingting Qiang who came to destroy the last surviving Chinese government. He confronted President Wei Wang with the intent to take his life. However, before he could do so, President Wei Wang unleashed what remained of China's nuclear arsenal, intending to take everyone down with him in a final effort to destroy the Yecha once and for all. It was too late to stop the destruction. Though Jingting Qiang killed President Wei Wang, the nuclear missiles launched, and the entire land—human and monster alike—was obliterated.

- Somehow, Jingting Qiang survived the nuclear blasts—likely due to the altered Yecha genes within him, which may have granted him immunity. However, this mutation also pushed him beyond the limits of a superhuman Slayer. As he gazed upon the China he once knew, now a barren, apocalyptic wasteland, he lost faith in humanity. No matter how hard it tried to protect itself, humanity always seemed destined to destroy itself through corruption, never cooperating or uniting to become a stronger, more harmonious race. Though some humans survived outside of China, Jingting, despite losing faith in humanity, vowed to do whatever he could to protect those who deserved to be saved. However, he would no longer fight as a Slayer. Instead, he would become the judge of who deserved salvation, hoping to rebuild humanity the right way—or condemn those who held mindsets incompatible with rebuilding the world for the good of humanity. He would be the one to judge the remaining humans, for their own good and for the survival of the human race.

- And so, he goes by the name "White Master"—an ex-Slayer and wandering white warrior who possesses extraordinary superhuman powers. He slays every monster and "unworthy" human alike he encounters, using his abilities for judgment and execution, without mercy or hesitation. He is no longer just a human; he is a master who brings down those who have wrongfully destroyed his entire life.

How did he/she died?

- Never die.

- In the short story, Caelus, Xavier Salvador, and the other members of Harbinger Seven arrive on a wasteland world, where they meet White Master while he is killing off a group of cultists. These cultists believe the Yecha are divine creations sent by a god to punish humanity, and they seek to join the Yecha in hopes of attaining a better paradise than the old world. After Caelus, Xavier, and the others restore the world and wipe out every monster, Xavier offers White Master a place in Harbinger Seven. Without hesitation, White Master accepts, joining a mixed anti-hero and anti-villain organization.
