Chapter Ten

The two of them reacted exactly how I expected them too.  "That's stupid." Maximos commented and ducked swiftly as Starmine's hand shot out for his head.

"What'd you think it means?" I asked Starmine as Maximos continued to try and dodge her hits.  "Maybe you should-" Her fist came in contact with Maximos' stomach and he doubled over. "-consult Menile. You know, someone who actually deals with this stuff."  "We deal with this kind of stuff." Maximos wheezed.

"No we don't, Max. Last time I was involved with a prophecy, I died." Starmine said.  "Can we please get back on topic?" I asked and the two of them nodded.  "What's the first line? The Fallen Hero, heart turned cold? That's most probably you, Raezil." Maximos said.

"Well we can already agree that the prophecys about him and his journey to get over the past." Starmine informed with a roll of her eyes. "And we're here, where his stories are told. So that's obvious."  "You're gonna have to conquer some woes by yourself. Kill some people. Win some fights." Maximos noted.

"One of these Herian scum are going to have to help me. The spark of flame could be Klemenis?" I asked.  "Then you live happily ever and come back to fame." Starmine finished. "Easy."

"That is so cliché." I commented. "Doesn't that happen in every one of those stories?"  Nyssa shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe the writer just isn't creative enough to think of anything else."  "I agree with Starmine." Maximos said.

The three of us turned and headed into the camp just as the conch horn blew, signalling the start of dinner.  The Mess Hall was strangely quiet when we entered. People glared at us as we took our seats at our table, a few people even hissed.

"What'd we do now?" Maximos whispered as we began to eat.  Every now and then, someone would throw a snarky remark our way. We ignored the ignorant rats anyway, but eventually one of them finally decided to tell us what their problem was.

"Did you kill him?" A girl with brown hair and tearstained cheeks asked. Her green eyes were puffy and bloodshot.  Pathetic.  "Kill who? Be more specific, honey." Starmine said with fake sympathy in her voice.  "Therious. Did you kill him?"  The three of us were silent before Starmine rolled her eyes and continued eating, while Maximos started laughing and I turned to the girl.

"No, sorry". She broke down again and ran away sniffling, some of the older campers ran after her while Lena and her friends intensified their glares.

Maximos was still laughing as tears rolled down his face and Starmine looked about ready to hit him again, but stopped when the door creaked open and a dark mist billowed into the room.

A few weapons were drawn as a figure shrouded in mist walked through the aisle and towards the Order.  The mist followed her as she walked. Her face was regale and pale as the moon. Her dress was entirely black as night. Her hair fell to her feet and mixed in with the mist. She was dangerously beautiful.

Lena's face visibly whitened as she remembered where she'd seen the lady before. Even though she looked completely different, the power that radiated off her was enough for Lena to know who it was.

"Ninzx." Starmine bowed and confirmed the blondes assumptions.  "Rise." Ninzx said and the three warriors all stood straight. "I have come on behalf of Jesna, she couldn't make it here herself. She wishes to know how the training is getting along, and any other important details are to be told."

Kelios, Starmine, and Maximos all followed the Immortal out of the doors, a curious gaze following after them.

"I'm gonna eavesdrop on them." The daughter of Feonia whispered to her friends and got up from her seat.  "Be careful, Lena. If they see you, you're dead." Smothna warned and Lena headed ot of the doors, keeping a large distance between herself and the Order.

We led Ninzx to our cabin, making sure that the pesky scum following us had enough time to catch up before we began speaking.

Starmine flicked her eyes towards where she knew Lena was hiding as Maximos slowly grabbed a lone throwing knife from the table and positioned his arm to throw it.  "No." Ninzx commanded and we all gave her strange looks.

Ninzx waved her hand through the air and a message appeared. "Jesna has forbidden you to kill any Inaili until your time here is up." I groaned as Maximos set his knife down uneasily.

"Report." Ninzx said and Starmine got to it. She explained about our arrival, the training sysyem we started, the fact that the campers thought we'd murdered Therious. Starmine told Ninzx about everything we've done since we first arrived, only leaving out the prophecy and Jesna's visit and instead signing them to her.

"Good. Now deal to the rodent outside." Black smoke was all that was left of Ninzx as she vanished.  I smirked and grabbed the knife from the table.

Starmine pointed to a spot on the wall and I threw the knife at it. A muffled scream came from the other side.

Maximos threw the door open and we exited the cabin. Lena was crouched under a window, the knife piercing through the wall and right next to her head. Her hand was covering her mouth in shock.

"You almost killed me!" She screeched and made me nearly cover my ears.  "Oops." I said. "Maybe next time you shouldn't eavesdrop on people who can easily kill you."

She slowly stood up with a glint in her eyes that I recognized as the one she always had whenever she was thinking of a way to escape.  "No bullshit. Leave now or die." I grumbled and she dashed off, clearly going to tell the rest of her friends about it.

Before she got out of my line of vision, I ripped the knife through the wall and threw it. She stumbled in her step when it struck her calf and half limped half ran away.  "She didn't say we couldn't maim them."

Starmine looked like she wanted to slap me as we leisurely made our way after Lena.

             Gune's POV
We hadn't seen Lena for a while now. After she'd gone to eavesdrop, my friends and I all finished our breakfast and sat under a tree in the centre of camp.

I'd just recently gotten back from my time at Camp Romaine. I'd been there to finish what I promised, making sure that all the minor princes and such were recognised.  "Guys! Help!" A scrangled scream came our way and I looked to see Lena stumbling our way.

"Lena!" Smothna screamed and ran to her side, me in tow.  We each put one of her arms around our shoulders and laid her down under the tree. The logical thing to do was take her to the infirmary, but Smothna insisted that she knew what she was doing.

Flamnar ended up having to run to Smothna's cabin to get some extra supplies, but other than that she said she had it handled.  I don't know exactly what she did, but she did it good enough that Lena stopped losing blood and could sit straight.

"What happened?" Smothna asked. Lena explained what she overheard, which was mainly stuff we already knew.  "Then a knife came through the wall and they almost killed me. When they confronted me, Kelios told me to leave. I did, obviously, but while I was running something lodged into my calf."

"They threw the knife?"  "Kelios did. Then I cane to you guys." Lena finished her story and I felt anger boil in me. I wasn't going to let someone do that to my friend and get away with it.

"Gune, please don't do anything stupid." Lena chuckled and I reluctantly sat back down. We talked for a while, until I saw the Order making their way to the Mess Hall and I couldn't contain myself.  "Hey!" I roared and shot up from my spot besides Smothna.

I felt a hand trying to tug me back down, but I ignored her and marched towards the leader.

"Hello there." Kelios said and waved.  "You threw a knife into my friends calf, I can't let you get away with that." I flipped my coin and my sword appeared in hand. Kelios rolled his eyes. "You two keep going, save me some food."  His two goons continued walking and laughing about something.

Two swords appeared in Kelios's hands.  "I wanted that knife back anyway, Jesh." He spat my name like it was something vile, when usually it commanded respect. My anger increased as he smiled at me like nothing was wrong and I launched myself at him.

He used one sword to fight against mine and I could tell that he was already tired and too scared to face me directly. Our swords clanged as we parried and slashed. Faster than my reflexes could handle, my back was on the floor, sword laying a few feet away from me.

Kelios's swords were positioned on either side of my neck, forming an 'X' and I could see how annoyed he was by the stance he was in.  "You're lucky I've been forbidden to kill you."

He grumbled and the pressure of his swords dissappeared as he made his way over to my friends. I summoned the winds to try and stop him, but a stronger force was preventing me from doing so.

I cried out as he stopped as Smothna leant down, before snatching his knife from her grip and heading to the Mess Hall.
