Part 8
Sungjin POV
>//< I couldn't help but blush. It really is too embarrasing to talk about.
He reached out again and I backed away even further. "Listen! I'm not going to hurt you!"
"I know that, but ..."
He sighed heavily and said "What? What is it?"
I took a deep breath and resigned myself to explaining. "I'm sorry. It is not that I don't trust you. It is just that.....we only allow one person to touch us on our heads."
"Okay......"
I took another deep breath and said "The only one allowed to touch us there is......our mates." >//<
Young-jae POV
"Your.....mates?" O_o "So, if my son was able to touch your head...... That means he is...... your....mate?!" O_O
"Honestly, I don't know what it means."
"But you just said that the one who can touch your head is your mate!"
"I know that."
"Then why don't you know?" I screamed at her.
"Because nothing like this has ever happened before!" she screamed and then she took a deep breath and calmed down a bit. "I'm sorry, but this is still very new to me and I still don't fully understand what is happening."
"And what about my son? What does this mean for him?"
"All that I know is that when a gumiho chooses a mate, it is for life. So weather it is in this life or the next, your son is fated to be my..........mate." >//<
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This fox claims that my son is her.......mate??? O_o I placed the medicine down at her bedside and said "You need to drink this if you want to get better."
She looked at the bowl and asked "What is it?"
"Medicine" I replied as I stood up and left the room. As I walked to my study, I though about what she had just told me and it still left me confused. If nothing like this had ever happened before, then what does it mean???
Myung-dae POV
I ran to the book store as quickly as I could and saw Mr. Park opening the shop. "Welcome home, Myung-dae!" he greeted me. "Looking for anything in particular?"
"I'm not here for books today" I smiled.
"You're not?"
"No" I smiled again. "I'm here about the girl that came to see you yesterday morning."
"Sujin? What about her?"
"She passed out yesterday and I brought her to my house so that my father could take care of her."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes. So if her family comes looking for her, could you please let them know that she is at my house?"
He smiled and said "Absolutely!"
"Thanks!" I said and then I ran off to Mrs. Jeong's to tell her the same.
As I approached I heard a woman arguing with Mrs. Jeong. "What are you talking about? She left for work yesterday and hasn't come home yet!"
"I understand that, but she never showed up yesterday!" Mrs. Jeong replied.
"Is something wrong Mrs. Jeong?" I asked when I was close enough.
"No dear, it's nothing. Are you hungry?" Mrs. Jeong asked me as the woman who had been yelling at her collapsed to the ground in tears.
As I looked at her face, I couldn't help but think that she looked like Sunjin a little. "Mom, I'll go and check Mr. Park's to see if she was there."
When her son mentioned Mr. Park, I rushed over to them before he could walk away. "You wouldn't happen to be Sunjin's mother and brother, would you?"
They both looked up at me in surprise. "You know my daughter?" her mother asked hopefully.
I smiled "Yes."
She grabbed my hands. "Where is she? Where is my daughter?"
"She is at my home."
"Your home? Why is she there?" her brother glared at me.
Wow, he is really distrustful. "Come with me and I'll explain on the way."
Her brother and I helped her mother to her feet and we started walking to my house. "So how do you know my sister?"
"I happened to run into her yesterday in the woods" I replied with a smile and they both became tense. "She accidentally got caught in one of the traps the hunters had put out and my friend and I helped her to get free."
I could tell that they were getting nervous about the situation, but I didn't want to lie to them. "I tried to warn her that the hunters have started to use poison, but she wouldn't listen to me. She insisted on going to Mr. Park's book shop to drop off your work" I gestured to her brother. "When she was finished there, I tried to tell her that she needed to see a doctor, but again she wouldn't listen. Then she passed out and I brought her to my house so that my father could take care of her."
"Your father?" her mother asked.
"Yes" I smiled. "My father is actually a very good doctor."
