Sunjin POV

        Once everyone had calmed a bit, I began to explain "First, I should probably tell you Heeyoung and Minwoo, that my name isn't really Mi-rae."

        "What do you mean?" Heeyoung looked over at me. "You told me your name was Mi-rae when we first met three years ago."

        "I'm sorry Heeyoung, but I haven't been very honest with you."

        "You mean that you've been lying to me all this time?"

        I shook my head "No Heeyoung......"

        Suddenly she started giggling. "You are so funny when you are flustered!" 

        I smiled and chuckled as well. "You're not upset?"

        "Of course I'm upset, but it doesn't mean we aren't friends!" she smiled. "Although, I'm still a little nervous about the foxes."

        "Let me explain everything and then you can rest easy" I smiled. "So as I was saying, my real name is Sunjin and I was born towards the end of the Joseon period."

        "Wait a minute" Minwoo spoke up. "If you were born during the Joseon period, that would mean you're.......OLD!"

        "Yes, thank you so much for pointing that out" I chuckled sarcastically. "Anyways, according to history, during that period of time people believed in mythical creatures like Gumihos. This is evident in the books from that time period. Today, people just believe that they are myths and that they don't really exist."

        "Everyone knows that Gumihos are just myths, why do you have to mention them? It gives me goosebumps." Minwoo and his big mouth.

        My family looked at him and started laughing. I couldn't help but chuckle as well. "Minwoo." He looked up at me. "If Gumihos don't exist, then what would you call my family members who are sitting beside you?"

        "Uh..." he looked around the room a little embarrassed. "Foxes?" My family started to giggle again.

        "My family are Gumihos" I stated. "We are the last remaining Gumihos in the Inchon area. I'm not sure if there are any other Gumihos left in Korea, because we were hunted for a long time." I took a deep breath and continued to explain my story. I told them of how I met Cho Myung-dae and how I fell in love with him. I also explained that the case Hyun-shik and I were investigating was actually a case that I was involved in back in 1905.

        "No wonder you choose it! You already had all the answers! Everyone thought you were just nuts!" Minwoo laughed.

        "Yes, well I figured that it would be easy for me." I explained everything that happened a thousand years ago with Myung-dae and Heeyoung started to cry. "Heeyoung, it's okay. Don't cry."

        "But he was the one you loved and they killed him" she wept.

        I gave her a hug. "The nice thing about being a Gumiho, is that you live for a very long time."

        She pulled away from me "How is that good? You've probably felt tortured all these years for not being able to save him."

        "Heeyoung." She looked at me. "Everyone will eventually be reborn, just not always as you expect them to be."

        "You're talking about reincarnation" Minwoo raised his eyebrows.

        "Yes" I smiled. "I knew that someday Myung-dae would be reincarnated and he was." I looked at Hyun-shik and we both smiled.

        "Wait!" Minwoo shouted. "Hyun-shik? You're.....You mean...."

        "Yes" Hyun-shik replied. "I'm Cho Myung-dae's reincarnation."

        "I've known you forever! How come you never told me about this before?"

        "Actually" he rubbed the back of his neck as he blushed "I only just found out about it today."

        "Did you know, Mi.... I'm sorry. I mean Sunjin, did you know that he was Myung-dae's reincarnation?"

        "No, I only found out today as well." I took a deep breath. "I had gone to get us some snacks and when I returned, he had already read through Myung-dae's journal. We started talking and we discovered what happened."

        "What do you mean? What happened?" Siwan asked.

        "It turns out that when I was five, I gave my fox bead to Myung-dae in order to heal him. He had accepted my bead, so........"

        "You were married to Myung-dae?" O_O Siwan screamed. "Why didn't you ever tell us?"

        "I had suppressed the memories from that time because of father's death. I'm only just remembering them now." I sighed "Anyways, we believe that my fox bead remained attached to Myung-dae's soul so that it would be with him when he was reincarnated."

Siwan POV

        That would explain why I thought he seemed different.

        "How do you know it was your fox bead?" one of the other foxes asked.

        "I can vouch for that" our mother spoke up. "I sensed fox magic on Myung-dae after the incident. I also witnessed the glow from the fox bead emanating form Hyun-shik. He is Myung-dae's reincarnation."

        "If Hyun-shik is his reincarnation" Heeyoung started thinking. "Does he know anything about his past life?"

        Hyun-shik smiled "When I found out I was his reincarnation, I was able to recall the memories from his life."

        "Daebak!" Minwoo and Heeyoung said at the same time, earning a giggle from Sunjin.

        "So, you are a Gumiho and he is your lover's reincarnation?" Minwoo perked up a little.

        Sunjin looked at Hyun-shik and blushed. Then she turned to face us and said "I'm no longer a Gumiho."

        All of our family, including myself, sat upright. "What do you mean? Why aren't you a Gumiho anymore? How is that possible?" we all began questioning.

        Sunjin blushed and said "We believe my fox bead reacted with my desire to be with my mate and transformed me into a human permanently."

        "Is that possible?" I asked.

Sunjin POV 

        "Well, we all know that our fox beads are special and that they hold powers that we are not aware of. I mean, we never knew that humans could be our mates until Myung-dae became mine."

        "Why couldn't it turn him into a Gumiho instead?" Siwan sulked.

        I stood up and walked over to my brother. Then I gave him a hug and said "We don't always have control over what will happen in our lives. I wanted to be with Hyun-shik and my bead granted that wish."

        "But..... You're human now!" he cried as he pushed me away.

        "I may be human now, but I'm still the same Sunjin you all have known for the past thousand years. That's not going to change."

        "What about us?" another fox spoke up. "What is going to happen to us now that you are human? Where are we going to live?"

        "Nothing is going to change. You all can stay here like you have for the past thousand years."

        "What about you?" Siwan asked.

        I smiled sadly "I intend to live what is left of my life by Hyun-shik's side as a human."

        "What about the archives? They're in your name! What happens after you die?"

        "When I die, my family will look after the archives like I have for the past thousand years."

        "What if they don't? What if they decide to sell it?"

        "They won't" I replied confidently.

        "How can you be so sure?"
