Part 22
Sunjin/Mi-rae POV
After eating lunch, we all hopped in Heeyoung's car and stopped by their apartments to grab clothes. Of course they wanted to see my apartment, but I told them that it wouldn't be necessary because I already had clothes at my home in Incheon. Thankfully they gave up.
When we finally arrived in Incheon over an hour and a half later, I was thankful to get out of the car.
"I can't believe how bad the traffic was!" Heeyoung commented. "How do you do this every weekend, Mi-rae?"
I don't! I usually transform and run home! I hate cars! "I usually take a nap on the bus, so I don't really pay attention" I smiled.
"Okay, so why didn't we just drive to the archives?" Minwoo asked. "I mean, from my understanding, it is connected to your home right?"
I giggled "Yes it is connected."
"Then why are we out here in the middle of nowhere next to a rundown building?"
To give you a better understanding of the situation. When we were driving to Incheon, I told Heeyoung to take a bunch of side roads that ultimately lead to where we are now. To them it just looks like the middle of nowhere, but to me it is home.
I smiled "If we had gone to the archives parking lot, you would have had to walk at least a mile before reaching the buildings. By coming this way, we are able to park right next to my house."
"Your house?" Minwoo exclaimed. "This dump is your house?"
Suddenly, we heard some growling and Heeyoung quickly rushed to my side and grabbed my arm. "What was that?" she shrieked.
I sighed. I guess my family heard him. Well I'm not surprised really. He was being rather loud.
"It sounded like an animal growling" Hyun-shik said. "Are there wild animals around here?"
Well, I wouldn't call us wild animals. I think we are rather civilized. "As far as I know there are foxes in the area, but they usually don't attack."
Minwoo sneaked up on Heeyoung and grabbed her by the waist causing her to scream.
"Ya! Minwoo! Stop playing around!" Hyun-shik called out after him.
The door to my house opened and my mother poked her head out. When she saw me standing there, she smiled "Mi-rae! What took you so long?"
"Traffic" I replied.
She looked around and saw my friends and got a little nervous. Truth be told, this is the first time we ever had people come into our home. I'll be honest with you, I was nervous too. My brother's cubs, although they were good at it, still needed work on their transformations. Not to mention the other foxes that don't like to socialize with humans.
"Imo!" I heard them yell as my ten nieces and nephews came running outside and mobbed me. Needless to say, my friends were surprised.
"Mi-rae" Heeyoung looked at me surrounded by brother's children "Who are they?"
"Oh, well these are..."
"Imo! I'm hungry! Please cook us something good! Please! Please! Please!" They all started whining and began dragging me inside.
Hyun-shik POV
I giggled as I watched the ten little children drag her away.
"I'm so sorry about that" her mother spoke sweetly to us. "They really love their aunt."
"That's fine" I smiled.
"Please come inside" she gestured for us to enter and we did. "I don't know where Su... I mean Mi-rae was planning on having you stay..."
"Mom! Don't worry about it!" we heard her scream from some where.
Her mom giggled "It seems like she already has a plan."
"She couldn't have heard us!" Minwoo was shocked.
I leaned over and said "Remember the cafe?"
He rolled his eyes and nodded.
"Ya! Siwan! Where are you?" I heard Mi-rae scream again and I decided to see what she was doing.
I walked around and finally found her in the kitchen still surrounded by the children. I couldn't help but laugh. "Ya! What are you laughing about? Get your cubs off me!" Then she turned around and froze when she saw me. "Oh, um, I thought you were my brother."
I smiled "That's okay. So they are your brother's children?"
"Uh, yeah" she blushed.
I guess she isn't as uptight as I thought she was. In fact, even with ten children hanging off her, I find her quite attractive. I wish I could have see this side to her sooner. I think I'm going to like sharing a room with her.
Sunjin/Mi-rae POV
Crap! I hope he didn't find it weird that I called them cubs!
"Is there anything I can help with?"
"Oh, well... not really. I just need my brother to come get them so that I have room to work."
"I could watch them for you" he offered and the cubs turned and glared at him.
"Who are you and why are you bothering our Imo?" one of them screamed at him.
"Oh, well I'm a friend of your Imo" he smiled.
"Imo, is that true?" another cub asked.
"Yes, it is true. His name is Hyun-shik and he is a friend from school."
"Do you want to come outside and play with me while your Imo cooks?" he offered and the next thing I know, the cubs are running outside and jumping onto him.
"OMO! Ya! Go easy on him!"
He started laughing "It's okay! I've got this! You just cook." Then he started playing with the cubs like they were real children.
"Wow! I can't believe he can actually keep up with them" my brother commented from beside me. I turned and smacked his arm. "OW! What was that for?"
"You should have gotten here sooner! What if they......"
"Relax" he whispered in my ear "my cubs will wear him out before they transform back into foxes."
"How can you be so sure?" I nervously questioned.
"Just go and cook" he turned me towards the kitchen "I'll keep an eye on them."
I finished preparing supper and everyone gathered in the courtyard to eat. And by everyone, I mean all the foxes that live with us and their families too.
"Whoa! I didn't realize that your family was this big!" Heeyoung commented.
"Yeah, well...." I blushed.
"Imo! Come sit with us!" the cubs called out as they dragged Hyun-shik over to their table.
He collapsed at the table and sighed "Where do they get all that energy?"
"I guess they take after me" my brother said as he took his seat. "Sorry if they bothered you. We don't get many new visitors here."
"No, I wasn't bothered by it at all!" he replied short of breath and my brother and I both chuckled.
