(A/N: I'm skipping the day they get evaluated by the gamemakers because I'm lazy XD)
Lucy's POV
It was the day. The day we entered the Guild Games. All participants were to enter a small chamber with their personal stylist and avox to get them ready for the games. Natsu somehow managed to make sure we were together in the same chamber but loaded into different pods. We sat by on the sofa. Each guild member's pod was surrounding a certain area. It was a small one. In the middle are supplies. Food, water, even small weapons.
The countdown was starting. The avox and stylist brought us to the pods.
2 minutes...
I looked at Natsu in his pod. He looked in a daze, unused to being trapped in a small space.
1 minute...
Natsu looked back at me with a reassuring smile.
I smiled back.
10 seconds...
I saw him mouth out words.
"Let's do this."
Launch.
The two pods were sent flying at rocket speed into darkness.
Then in stopped. The pod stopped. I started panicking. I looked up to see a small panel opening. A glaring light blocked my vision. I blinked rapidly, regaining my sight. I watched as the pods brought up all my friends. The pods then let us out and we heard the familiar voice of Jason rung out.
"Tributes, let the games begin."
Natsu's POV
We evenly divided the supplies. We started looking for a nearby water source to set up camp. We finally found a small lake after an hour and a half of searching. We set up camp in a large but not visible cave. To further conceal it, we covered the entrance with rocks twined with vines. A lot less visible. The boys were going to hunt for food while the girls started setting up.
Romeo, Gray, Mystogan, Laxus and I went to search for food. We've hunted down a few birds and herbs that were edible, according to Romeo. Gray saw some berries on a bush and decided to gather them. We made our way back to the cave and put the food on a mat the girls set up. As soon as Gray was about to put down the berries, I heard a familiar gasp.
It was Lucy.
She ran towards Gray and swiped the berries from his hand onto the floor. Everyone looked at her in confusion. She picked a berry off the floor and examined it.
"It's nightlock. A poisonous berry."
Everyone looked at Gray.
"Gray-sama, where did you get these?"
Juvia piped up. Gray shrugged before pointing outside the cave.
"It was on a bush beside the lake."
Lucy then rushed out, a plastic bag in her hand.
What the hell?
Lucy's POV
I ran to look for the bush. I finally found it. The berries were large and looked juicy. Purpleish juice secreted from the berry. I stripped the bush of its berries, putting them in the bag. My hands were covered in its juices. I washed it off in the lake and ran back into the cave. Everyone looked at me with curiosity, wondering why I brought back more when I said it was poisonous.
I demanded that everyone take out a plastic bag. They followed suit. I equally divided the berries into the bags.
"Take these with you. If someone is attacking, pretend to drop this. If they consume it, they will eventually die."
They understood perfectly. Then we heard the cannons. They signaled a tribute's death. We heard 6 cannons go off. We decided to settle in for the day.
Juvia's POV
Juvia left to look who has died on the first day. They're faces were shown in the sky. Most were from the Yandere Guild. They were like a little school where you learn a bit of magic and hand to hand combat.
Goes to show that hand to hand combat can't beat magic.
Juvia thought to herself. Four of the six were from that guild. The other two were from a guild Juvia didn't recognize. Well, at least six are gone now. Juvia went back to the cave to see everybody asleep. Juvia lay next to Gray-sama. Juvia suddenly felt his arm around me. Juvia smiled as Juvia fell asleep.
-Time Skip-
Lucy's POV
It was the next day. I woke up and pried myself out of Natsu's grip. I heard a beeping in the distance. Running out of the cave, I looked up. A white parachute with a little container was jammed in between the branches of a large tree. I climbed up the tree, desperate for the container. I winced in pain as I was unused to climbing. Jumping from the tree, I opened the container to reveal a vial with a purple substance inside.
It smells like a rotting corpse, I thought to myself, gagging.
"Wtf even is this?"
I shook Wendy awake, pulling her out of her deep slumber. She yawned, rubbing her eyes.
"What's wrong?"
Handing her the vial, I replied.
"This vial was sent to us. What do you think it is?"
Wendy was the healer of this group, not to mention a dragon slayer as well. Using her killer sense of smell, she could surely detect what this is. She brought the vial up to her nose, taking a whiff of the smell. Just thinking about the pungent odor makes me sick. She then stared into blank space, as if analyzing the ingredients to the substance. As if a bell went off in her head, she started naming out every element in the substance. After naming out most of them, she took another whiff, repeating the process. Then, something caught my attention.
"...kyoka..."
A stunned look came across my face. Something I've learnt when I used to study magic. I remember it. An enhancement curse.
Wendy's POV
A stunned look came across Lucy-san's face after naming an element. I ignored it, reading out the smell of every element I detected in the vial. A gasp filled the room. Turning to face Lucy-san, I saw her with her hands covering her mouth, eyes wide.
"Wendy, what does this substance do?!"
I took a step back, trying to recall what all the elements would do when mixed together.
I recited every word that came into my head in a monotonous way.
"The elements in this vial when chemically mixed together enhanced the power of kyoka, an enhancement spell, which allows the user to enhance an opponent's emotions, especially pain. The substance in this vial makes the curse stronger, further empowering it by allowing the user to drive the opponent into complete insanity, maybe allowing them to think of their allies as their opponents and kill them, or so driven by insanity to kill themselves at their own will."
