Chaotic Dolls, Enchanting Spells

"Once you do have a bond mark, you cannot live on earth. Not without being in great danger."

Suddenly, a knock from upstairs echoed throughout the house. And a deep voice echos too.

"Martin? Jiana? Are you two in here? Your son want's to talk to you."

Everyone was still, until my dad smiled a couple seconds later, pulling his sleeve over his 'bond mark', "Yes, come on in Giza. And watch your step, Kilinco is down here." I was confused, "Giza? Who in the blue moons is that?" I ask, Kilinco, who was moving his tail out of the way of the stairs, said, "He is the Guardian of your stepfather, Martin." Kilinco says. I glare at him, "Who told you about my adopti--" A man with armour walks into the room. The armour was white and gold, and has the silver leaf-crown with a golden broadsword on his back. He also has a feathery cape on, and holding Henry by the arm. Henry is cursing at everyone.

"Let me go you idiot, no good--" He shut up when my parents glared at him. And I chuckled and let out an "ooh" but my parents also glared at me, so I shut myself up and bit my tongue to curse at myself. "Not appropriate, Jack." Mom said. She then smiled softly at the man, "Giza, how was the situation upstairs?" 'Giza', the man holding onto Henry, sighed, "Worse, I guess that E must of tracked that teleportation. He has every doll under his control, as well as having two adult humans unconscious." Katie's eyes widened, "W-Wait! Were they my parents!?" She asked, and Giza tilted his head, "What do they look like?"

She gave a small description: black haired dad and blonde mom, with brown eyes and they both wear combat boots. Giza nodded, disappointed, "I believe those were the adults. They were in the same house I found Martin's and Jiana's son." He finally let go of Henry, who was looking around the basement in awe, and once he let go, Henry bolted over to me, and shoved me to the ground, earning a loud growl from Kilinco, and then caused Henry to back off as I get up.

"What was that for!?" I yelled at him, and was about to jump at him when I realized that I would probably get that 'tranquility' moment, so I decided against it. "Y-You got me into trouble! As soon as you and your girlfriend disappeared, her mom and dad started yelling at me, and then something hit them, and I was attacked by some demonic mutt!!" He yelled at me, keeping an eye on Kilinco ever since he started growling. "What color was it?" Kilinco asked Henry, to which he got a glare and a answer, "Why do you need to know!?" Giza looks calmly at Henry, and answered for him. "Red skin, black button eyes." Kilinco growled, "That's probably one of his minions, D."

I shook, remembering the creature who nearly clawed out my eyes about a few hours ago...at least, that's what it felt like. I took my hand and stared at it, thinking. Maybe we can figure out something. I don't want to make it seem like I'm afraid. I am afraid though; afraid of what is going on; afraid that my parents are keeping more secrets from me than I am from them; afraid of what might happen to them; afraid of....

Another feeling passed me. What if they are hurt, or worse? What if it's my fault? What am I supposed to do!? It's not like there's a manual for this situation. What if I get hurt, and no one is around? Why isn't anyone else telling me anything? Even my youngest sister, Cathy, is calm about all of this. It is not even like the movies, where the hero seems to know about everything. I am so confused!!

Jack, you are broadcasting your thoughts everywhere. Try to keep it calm at least. Almost everyone can hear the humming of it. I can definitely tell the difference between Kilinco's thoughts and my thoughts.

It's not fair...why does this have to happen to us!?

Trust me, your previous lives were as perilous as this one. It is not a normal thing, but it happens. So just let it slide, your previous life as a Guard Bond will follow you everywhere you go.

I mentally rolled my eyes. Great. Now I'm a 'Bonder' and a Guardian and a Protector. What's next!?

I hear a rumble. A Companion, Guard Bond, and a warrior. An Ancient Librarian too...

Are you being serious or are you joking?

I'm telling you what you wanted to know.

Oh, so I'm going to be a dusty librarian. Lovely. I shut out my own thoughts by thinking of nothing so he can't hear them, but I can see him looking dead serious at me. I can also see Giza seeming to have a quiet conversation with my parents and sisters, but I and Henry and Katie are staring at me. "Well? Can you explain?" Henry asked, seeming as if he has tried to ask the others, but refuses to believe that it is real. I can tell, I am observing him trying to pinch himself as hard as he can. "I'm just as confused as you are. Right now, we are being attacked by a Demon named E, and a bunch of dolls as well." I say.

Kilinco then joins in, "You are half right. But they aren't just attacking with E and D and a bunch of dolls. There's also a few who are also part of the equation. Such as C, K, I think S, and Z." Henry looks at him, "So we are being attacked by the alphabet."

"No, we are being attacked by demons."

"So why don't you and...uh, that guy over there," Henry points to Giza, "Kill them all? I mean, they are smaller than you two! And you apparently have 'magical' powers."

Kilinco's eyes turned a more orange tone than a green. "First of all, would you like to fight a demon, which can actually kill you quicker than anything you have dealt with?" Henry shook his head, a bit scared. "Secondly, you can't kill a demon. They come back, if you have forgotten.  You can only do so much to them, but they seem to overpower everything we do. Especially when souls come into play."

Kilinco then puts his hand onto Henry's chest, Henry flinched but didn't go back, "You don't have a strong soul, which is why E would rather kill you and not have a distraction." He removed his hand, and then motioned his head to me. "She has a powerful soul, which is why he would rather capture her and extract it, or have her on his side, rather than kill her. And Katie also has a powerful soul. So powerful that it can manipulate weaker souls into dying." Katie's eyes widen, but he doesn't take that to account. He then motions to my parents. "They also have powerful souls, but not as powerful as Jacklynn's. The sister with the bow, she is powerful. The little one has a regular soul, but that doesn't mean that it won't be powerful."

"Wait, so how can a soul be powerful? It doesn't make any sense!" Henry asks.

"There are four main theories. One: Genetics. The powerful souls of the parents will slightly split, and the two halves form into the soul of the baby. But that sometimes doesn't happen, and or the parents die with the lack of their soul. Two: Magic exposure. Or at least, in theory, the more magic you are exposed to, the quicker your soul will grow. Not instantly, but gradually. Three: In past lives, you could build up your soul to be a powerful one." He paused, thinking for a bit. "The fourth way is if you absorb a soul, but it is impossible. For humans, at least." He sighed.

"But currently we are hiding, so what do we do now that we are down here?" I ask, wanting to stop this conversation about the souls and stuff like that. Kilinco looks over me, his eyes cooling down to a sunshine-yellow color, "Fight them, but right now isn't a very good time. It's still late in the day, we have to wait until dark. And even then, we have to be quiet so the rest of the neighborhood won't get suspicious." He explained, and I sigh, looking at the staffs and other weapons. "So....how do I use these?" I ask, taking one of them. It was a yellow-orange color for the handle...I am not sure if the handle is wood or if it's some sort of metal. But it was super light weight. The gemstone that was floating around the head of the staff was an amber-red color, it seemed like a similar one of Hamaki's gem, but larger, and was a lot more cooler than the gem.

"Carefully aim it at a target." Kilinco instructed, which I did. "Okay, now what?"

"Hold onto a small amount of mana...maybe a handful will do." He then nodded towards the jars on the shelves, which were filled with glowing blue dust. He didn't instruct towards anything else, so I just got that. When I opened the jar, it filled my nose with a very weird scent, like it was just after the rain, and there is pie on the window sill. It made me feel at peace....and then it tickled my nose, and I sneezed as my senses thought that there was a fire nearby. But there wasn't. I guess that's the after affect of smelling that stuff.

"Mana can make you seem as if you have teleported somewhere else. It's different for each person, but I highly suggest that you do not smell it directly. I heard that it made a human have a heart attack on the spot." Kilinco then sat down, his tail slightly moving to curl up around him. I take a handful, and keep it far away from my nose, which was still burning. "Now go ahead, and try to shoot the staff."

I concentrated.

Nothing happened.

"You can't do anything just yet, your soul isn't as powerful as it used to be. Maybe someday you can, but for now, you are just weak." He explained, so I dropped the mana and staff, it clatters on the floor while the mana sounds like a bunch of marbles being rolled. "Maybe explain how you shoot it, and then it can work." I say. He shook his head, "Can't. I haven't done it myself. Ask your parents, your sister, or Giza, but I don't know how." I sigh and secretly wished that Kilinco wasn't my so called 'Guardian', because out of weapon ideas he is clueless. I go up to my sister, who was talking softly to herself while reading a book.

"Sophie, how do I use a staff? Kilinco has no clue." I ask her, she didn't really look up from the book, which has a leather-bound cover and some symbols on the paper that I don't understand, so I assumed it was a spell-book. "You shouldn't be holding a weapon anyway." She says. I look at her, narrowing my eyes so I can glare at her, "Why?"

"Because you will hurt yourself."

"No I won't. Unless you don't tell me how to use it. I mean, a bow must be more dangerous than a simple staff!"

"Jacklynn, calm down. And no, it isn't. The staff uses a thing called Mana."

"I know that, Kilinco told me....it hurts when I smell it."

"Exactly. You aren't used to magic. Heck, you don't even know how to handle any weapon here." She looks from her book to my eyes, and glares back at me, causing me to flinch. "So if you want a weapon, step aside and let us do our jobs of protecting you."

I take a breath, I do not want to be seen as weak. I don't want protecting, and at the moment, I don't need protecting, why can't my sister see that? If I had a weapon, then i can protect myself! I told that to Sophie, but she sighed and continued reading her book, "Only time will tell. But your anger is starting to get out of hand, so can you calm down?" I know that I'm flaring up with anger, "No, I won't calm down. And you know that pretty soon we have to leave this place. I'm just asking you a simple question about how I can fire a stupid--"

A thump interrupted my talk, and everyone looks towards the stairs. The thump came from the door, and it sounded as if something was thrown at it. Or at least, running into it. My parents quickly took out a necklace from their pockets, and Giza held out a staff. It was a very pretty one, with a white handle and gold encrusted on the edges of two wings that spiral around it. The head of it has a blue gem, that seems to be glowing with magic. I can probably watch it work, and use my staff from there. I take the staff I dropped, and Kilinco moved over to me, his eyes going slowly back to blue, "Jacklynn, leave the staff. We can handle it, we just need you to run away, with Katie and Henry and Cathy."

"Well I can't do that, I can't run away. Especially when I, supposedly, 'can't defend myself.'" I say, with a bit of a mocking voice to my sister, to which he replied, "Well you won't need to do that. After you are a safe distance away from this place, Galiek will open a portal so you can jump in."

"Well, I don't want to run away. I want to fight!"

Mom looks over at me, "Jack, calm down, your anger is attracting them."

"Well you said you can handle it!" I start feeling a bit worried, but my anger took over and I throw the staff away, it nearly hit Henry. "HEY!?" He retorted, and ran towards me. That's good, I want to punch something.

Just as I was going to jump at him, the door broke open, and down jumped a large creature. I take many steps back, my fear quickly drowning out my anger. It had dark red skin and black eyes. It has a horn on each side of its head, sharp and jagged, and dark spines down its back. It has sharp claws that curve and a tail that seemed powerful. The creature opened its mouth and gave an earth shaking roar at Kilinco, who quickly had his eyes turn to blue and took the same stance as the creature, on all fours and baring their sharp teeth. Giving shrill and low growls to one another.

I was too scared to stay still, but also too mesmerized to leave the place. I think my hearing went out at this point, and all I could see was the two, growling and circling each other, not attacking, but it seemed like a trance I couldn't get out of. I snapped out of the trance when the creature jumped at Kilinco, causing him to slightly move back, but he looked back when he realized that he may bump into Cathy, who was hiding behind a table. The creature took his chance and leaped at Kilinco.

Kilinco rolls over to the side, and bit down on the creature's leg. It didn't seem affected and hit Kilinco's head with its tail, then bit Kilinco on the arm. Kilinco yowled in pain, and went up to bite the creature's arm, and made a tug at it. The creature, being slightly smaller and quicker, yanked it's arm out of Kilinco's grasp and let go of his own. Kilinco took that time to charge at the creature and knock it back a few steps, the creature then sank it's teeth into Kilinco's shoulder.

This went up in less than ten seconds, and I slowly made my way over to Cathy. She was shaking and her eyes are widened with fear. I took her into my arms and held her close, but when I saw a figure dark blue rush at me, I knew that this was going to be my first "magical" fight.

Third Person P.O.V

The fight between Kilinco and D continued as Jacklynn stood in the charging path of B. She doesn't know his intent, and jumped to the side holding onto Cathy. Cathy was beginning to wail loudly in fear, and Jacklynn ran while comforting her little sister.

D was able to use that wailing as a distraction, even if it was slight. Kilinco was pushed downwards and kicked on the side, knocking some wind out of him. D then bit down hard on Kilinco's neck, since the armour is harder around the back plates, he was able to make it stuck for a bit, but Kilinco thrust his head upwards to knock D off, and escape his iron jaw.

Kilinco then turned and delivers a bone cracking blow with his tail against D's chest, and D fell forward with no air. He was wheezing for a moment before quickly getting back up and jumping onto Kilinco, continuing the fight as he attempts to scratch out Kilinco's major arteries.

Meanwhile Jacklynn was blocked, everyone was on their way upstairs, but Jacklynn stayed behind. And because of that, she is now stuck between a rock and a hard place. The background noises of the demon and her Guardian fighting doesn't distract her from the monstrosity in front of her.

His eyes are a dark emerald green, pupils are now slits as he makes a vibrating growl. It's skin is a dark blue with the horns curling around as if it were a ram. The ivory teeth were bared as he clearly shows aggression. But there is also something else about him that seems off. He has some sort of needle sticking out of it's arm, and it's still bleeding. It seemed recent, but Jacklynn knows that it's irrelevant to escape, which is what she needs to do in order for her and her younger sister to survive.

Jacklynn takes a few steps back, mimicking its stance. The creature, now understanding, moved forward a bit before launching himself towards them, jaw wide open.

Jacklynn, with new found speed from the adrenaline and fear, quickly dodged and stomped up the stairs, breathing heavily. She cannot believe she's done it. Now she hears Cathy screaming about something 'behind you' and before she could make it to the doorway, with parents up there, she froze and dropped Cathy when a large pain on her back erupted. Before Cathy could fall, Sophie was able to catch Cathy and Jacklynn was dragged back by another creature.

This time, Jacklynn recognized who he was.

She struggled to get out of his grip as the strings that surround her begin to cut her supply of air. E was still small, and clearly he is angry. He hissed lowly before a large headache hit Jacklynn as he yelled, "Why are you so weak!? I never raised you like that, and yet, you think that things are just as crazy!?" He throws her against the shelves, causing the jars to topple off and shatter on the ground.

A dark aura surrounded E as he makes his way to Jacklynn, pinning her head and whispering cruelly, "I should've left you without any soul in the first life. At least I'm honest about that." If he was going to say anymore, he restrained himself when Kilinco jumped over and grabbed him, throwing him off of Jacklynn and standing over her, growling.

Meanwhile, Jacklynn was still trying to get her vision straight, the blood that's flowing from her head is making her vision fade quicker. But she heard everything. It was right in her head when he whispered those things...now, she is just as confused as before.

Why is E mad at her? She didn't do anything of the sort to him....but here was the unnerving part.

His button eyes were gone. And instead, a pale blue replaced them. When he yelled at her, he wasn't using his own voice. It was as if someone was being the puppeteer for the doll. But now that she slightly has a small flashback....a random, yet very intriguing thought popped into her head.

What else had a blue color and hated her, anyway?

New villain is coming soon. ;')

Anyway, I won't tell you when they are coming, but soon is soon enough. And sorry for this chapter being somewhat of a "three-parter" but I can't fit everything into one chapter for everyone to enjoy. As much as I love typing, it is going to be a pain in the but to explain everything.
