Chapter Three
Meanwhile, somewhere in the Zero Dimension
There was nothing in this dimension. No stars, no planets, nothing at all. And yet there was a single sign of life, faint, adrift, through the deepest expanse of deadspace. Suddenly, a fast shockwave came speeding through the space around him, echos and whispers of the past being spoken as his icy shackles glowed bright, breaking into pieces.
He finally awoke, blind yet not. As he continued floating in this empty expanse, the pain finally rushed through his frosted reawakening body.
"REAAAAAAUGH!" He let out a bloodcurdling scream. The millions of years of dormancy catching up with him. His body, numb from the ice and lack of blood flow, returned its basic motor controls to him. He stopped, silent and cold like the void around him. As his vision returned, he slowly brought his hands in front of him, breaking whatever frost he had on them. He observed the scars left from the burns and restrictiveness of his shackles, now floating away in the distance. Once he dared move, another sharp pain was felt in his back, again from the dormancy. "GAAAAAAUGH!"
The broken pieces of his shackles glowed once more, the runes chanting to themselves before a vortex portal opened up, sucking in the fallen son. Immediately passing through the entrance, he observed the colorful tunnel whilst passing through. Again, echos of the past being displayed to him. His father, mother, and himself, the turning of Arthas, his defeat from his father, and then... One he was not familiar with.
He watched intently as flashes of the event took place before his eyes. The meeting of a young fox with two tails and a blade, Arthas in a valley outside city, walking towards it as buildings in the distance ploomed with smoke and dust. A fight in the city, thousands of people running away. Then it showed that fox again, only this time much different. Four tails instead of two? A different sword? Who was this being? No doubt he had the power like that of a god. Then images appeared of the shattering of Frostmourne, an impossible feat. Then, unlike anything he's seen, Arthas being sucked away by a portal. He then realized what he truly saw:
The defeat of his father.
In a quick advance, the portal slowly pushed him out, transporting him to another Universe, that which he was not familiar with, a forbidden one: The Dimension of Power. It was a relatively young Universe, only three hundred thousand years past birth. Weak and tired, he closed his eyes, questioning what he saw moments ago. Then bright flashes of excited dark matter struck around him, brighter than any star. As each flash strikes, memories from his fight flood his head. From the very moment he first struck his father to the boulder pushing him through. His revenge was unwavering, and yet he could no longer quench it. That wretched fox stole his opportunity.
Suddenly, he felt a pain ring out through his whole body, worse than anything he has ever felt in his entire life. A bolt of dark matter striking him, seemingly rejuvenating him in the process. He yelled out in pain, and yet his screams were not heard, not while in this empty expanse.
A few moments later, more and more bolts began to greet his presence with aggression, melting his skin and yet instantaneously repairing it, making it stronger, making HIM stronger. His muscles ripped from within themselves and grew, his power grew. He could FEEL it. As more and more bolts struck him, thoughts about the fox and the Universe took him over.
He yelled with immense pain, rage, power, unlike anything he has ever felt before, "GRRRAAAAAAGH!" As he yelled out, a powerful boom emanated from him, causing more bolts of matter to strike. He then realized what it meant to have all this power, like his father did. It fueled him to do more.
In his mind, he knew that soon, and not a moment later, the Universe shall tremble to a new legend, everyone shall know the name: Gallo Menethil.
He only needed to stay a little longer...
