Moving on

As far as I know I just wanted to do what was right. I just don't know what that is anymore. -Captain America/ Steve Rogers, Captain America the Winter Soldier.

It was quiet that day in Winterfell. Robb had brought the woman they found to the measter, letting him take care of her. They had found her in the midst of the woods, holding a dead body in her arms. She was surrounded by other dead bodies, bodies of knights from the North.

Robb didn't trust her at all. Who knows, maybe she had killed all those Northerners. She held no wapon though. Maybe she had thrown it away?  That wouldn't explain it though because the wounds in the men's bodies didn't seem to be inflicted by any kind of weapon they knew about. One thing Robb knew for sure: she wasn't to be trusted.

He thought his father was a fool to bring her here. Maybe she would kill people here too for as far as they knew. Robb hadn't left the chamber she was in, he wouldn't let her be alone. He glared at her while she was uncounscious. After all his father's efforts they had been in peace and now maybe she was going to destroy that peace.

If you asked Robb, he would've made the woman leave or let her pay for her crimes.

Eddard Stark was determined to let her stay though. Robb had tried to speak some sense into him but his father wouldn't listen. He had his mind set on that girl, there was something he knew that Robb didn't.

"Robb?" Catelyn entered the room. "Bran has asked for your presence, he would like to train with you."

"I don't trust her." Robb said without looking at his mother, his gaze was set on the sleeping girl. Why had she fallen asleep anyway? It was taking her too long to wake up for her to be unconcious.

"I think she's innocent. How could she alone kill all those soldiers?" Catelyn said. She didn't think a woman could be a warrior, nor did she think a girl like that could defeat more then 10 Northerners. Catelyn was quite prejudiced when it came to women and their skills.

"How can we know she's innocent when we do not know anything about her? Father's a fool to take her here. We should've left her there." Robb hissed at his mother. He was angry at his father, he wouldn't even listen to what Robb had to say. He himself thought he was all grown up. His father on the other hand didn't, leaving Robb frustrated and angry.

"Robb!! You do not speak about your father like that!" Catelyn's eyes widened as she looked at her oldest son. "Now go to Bran." She ordered.

"What about her?" Robb sighed, knowing that going against his mother won't help anything.

"We will wait for what she has to say." Catelyn said and then ushered Robb out of the room.

After that Elena was alone. It was silent until she suddenly awakaned, sat up immediatelly and gasped for air. Her green eyes were widened as she took in her surroundings. She had no idea where she was nor did she know how she got there. All she remembered was a fight, she had defended her father until...

Elena placed her hands before her eyes and struggled to hold in her sobs. She had failed, her father had died. He was dead because she couldn't defend him. Elena's attempts to hold her tears failed as they streamed down her face uncontrollably. Strangled sobs filled the room as Elena tried to escape reality.

How could she have let this happen?

"My lady?" Someone entered the room, he was old and had a kind of chain around his neck and he was wearing a old grey mantle. She recognized him as one of the so called measters. Elena's eyes widened as she saw him. She crawled back on the bed until her back hit the wall. She was in a city, she knew that now.

She had to escape, she couldn't risk her powers falling into the wrong hands. Quickly standing up Elena almost lost her balance. She regained it and pushed past the old man without a word.

"My lady?" he tried to grasp Elena's arm but she escaped from his grasp. She ran into a cold and dark hallway of what seemed to be a castle. Elena's breath quickened as she tried to find the exit. She ran and ran until she finally arrived at some sort of balcony. It was midday, the sun was up but nevertheless it was still cold.

Elena jumped off the balcony but hurt her foot with the landing. She groaned in agony but sped off anyway. She had to leave this place.

"Hey you!!" Someone yelled as she ran through the courtyard. "Stop!"

Elena looked behind her and saw several guards running her way. She quickened her pace and searched for her way out of this castle. She didn't know where she was. She just didn't want to risk anything. A gate came into Elena's sight as she ran towards it. The guards were yelling at her to stop but she didn't listen nor did she stop running.

Until several guards came into view. They were standing before the gate, ready to catch her.

Elena stopped running and looked at her surroundings. Many people were looking at her. They looked poor and cold but happy and admirable. But they were afraid of the foreigner.

Elena couldn't risk unwrapping her wings, right now they were hidden from everyone's sight. Besides, she wasn't sure if she had earned them yet. If she did use them, if she even could, everybody would know who she was and they would try to use her powers.

She couldn't use her power anyway, she had used all of it yesterday. She wasn't experienced at all, having only used it a few times when her father wasn't looking. After all, he forbade her to even ever use it in her life.

The only choice Elena had left was to fight her way out. Guards were walking towards her, holding their swords. Her breaths quickened in fear, her hands trembling. She was afraid someone was going to lock her up and use her powers against her will.

The guards were now surounding her. Slowly they walked towards her, their eyes narrowed at the woman in front of them. As one came close, Elena suddenly moved and kicked him on his knee, making him fall on the ground in pain. Elena quickly grasped his sword from the man's hold.

She tried to fight off the guards, she succeeded so far. Her skill in battle was advanced, her father had taught her well. Now that he was dead Elena was angry, making her even stronger. She defeated every Guard while making sure they wouldn't die. She smiled when the last one dropped to the ground, swinging the sword in her hands.

"Drop your sword." Someone spoke threatingly. He had a deep voice and spoke slowly and clearly. He had dark brown curls and deep blue eyes. He seemed to be in his early teens, he had dark stubles on his prominent jaw. He was muscled and looked strong, you could clearly see he was a lord's son based on his armor.

Elena would've spend more time looking at him if he hadn't been threatening her.

She turned sideways with her sword ready, making herself a smaller target. Elena narrowed her eyes at him as she circled around him, ready to attack. She was so exhausted from the fight before that she couldn't properly form any words.

A faint smile appeared on the man's face until he suddenly attacked her, swaying his sword. He had almost sliced her belly, he had surprised Elena with his sudden attack. While the two were fighting heavily the common people scarried away, afraid to get stuck in a battle. Women screamed and took their children away from the fight.

"You're better than you look." Robb told the woman, he hated her even more than he did before. He had to admit though, she was good in sword fighting. Still, not good enough.

"Just let me go." Elena pleaded while she took a few steps away from the man. They circled around each other, prepared for another attack. Elena's breath came out in ragged gasps while Robb's were controlled and steady.

Robb narrowed his eyes at the girl in front of him. How could she think he would let her go when she had killed his people? He launched at her again, he was winning, they both knew it. He was stronger. Elena had speed but that wasn't enough to win against the Lord's son.

After a few moments Robb had disarmed Elena. She gasped when her sword fell to the ground. She stood there silently until she felt a sword being held against her throat, pushing her against the wall of the castle.

"You never should've come here." Robb growled and readied his arm to kill the woman he had trapped between the wall and him.

Elena closed her eyes while she felt the cold sharp blade pressed against her skin, a few drops of blood already began to flow down. This is it, I'm being killed by a Lord's son. The Last Guardian is being killed by a Lord's son. I was never destined to be one anyway.

Just please let it be quick.

Elena looked up at Robb, gazing into his eyes. She didn't blame him for wanting to kill her, he didn't know what truly happened. Robb hesitated at first, he didn't understand why she suddenly gave up. He didn't understand how she could look up at him without a single sign of anger.

"Robert!!" An older man came walking towards them, interrupting Robb. "Leave her be."

"She killed those Knights father, why do you want her alive?" Robb didn't take his eyes of the woman, holding her tight against the wall with the sword still against her throat.

"Because she's my guest." Eddard said, looking at the two. The guards Elena had knocked out slowly began to wake up.

"Robb." Ned warned him. Robb finally let Elena go, letting her fall to the floor in exhaustion. She gasped for air and struggled to stand up. Her muscles screamed in agony, she out-did herself.

Robb extended his arm for Elena to take. She was confused that he did that and slowly laid her hand in his. He pulled her up so quick she fell into his chest. He took a hold of her hair, yanking it back so his mouth was near her ear. He began to speak angrily and warned her.

"Next time you hurt anyone here, I will kill you."

~

After the battle of the Twins every Northerner was commanded to take care of the wounded and bury the dead.

Talisa included.

Most of the men were burned, they didn't have enough time nor energy to properly bury them all. They did hold a proper funeral for the queen though. Outside on the edge of the forest she was buried. Robb didn't know how she would've been buried in her homeland, so he did this.

The army had set camp by the Twins. The wounded needed to heal and the men needed to gather their strength. They tried to think off something in the council meetings. All they could think off was to wait for Deanarys Targaryen or go to the Vale to ask for their support again.

The council couldn't decide anything though. The King hadn't attended any meetings, he only stood by the grave of his wife. Several of his men had tried to shake him out of it, to take him to the meetings and bring back life to him.

Nobody succeeded. Robb only stood there in front of the grave, staring at it. Elena hadn't spoken to him since the battle, when he had lifted her up to her feet when she fell on the bridge. She couldn't bear to see him, she blamed him for all the deaths the past year. She knew she was wrong to do so but she couldn't help it. Elena was angry at him.

Now, a few days after the battle, Robb still hasn't moved from in front of the grave. His servants brought him food and water, sometimes clothes to keep him warm. Many say he hasn't even slept in those days. Robb hadn't spoken a word.

Until Elena visited the grave herself. She walked towards it and saw Robb kneeling in front of it. She wasn't surprised at all to see him there. Elena didn't say a word when she crouched down in front of the grave, sitting next to The King.

But she needed to do more in memory of the queen. Elena had never met Talisa but in some way she still cared for the woman. After all, to win Robb's heart so quickly there had to be something special about her. Elena took something out of the bag she brought with her. It was a long feather from her wing. She placed it on the grave and made sure it wouldn't be blown away by the wind.

For a guardian it meant a lot to give away a feather of its wing, it was a part of their soul. It was like giving someone the most important thing you had. So when Robb saw this for the first time in days he moved. He looked at Elena as he frowned in confusion. He thought she'd hate the woman he had married.

"Your men need you, now more than ever." Elena broke the silence between the two. She didn't expect him to say anything back. She didn't even look at him because she knew he wouldn't look back nor notice it.

"They think you've gone mad after your wi..." Elena closed her eyes and stopped talking. She didn't want to accept it that he married another and she didn't want to hurt him by saying her name. "after her death."

"Do you think that too?" Robb spoke after a brief silence. Elena's head shot up at the sound of his voice, surprised he even said something.

"I think you need to take revenge. You can only do that when you do your duties as a king and kill Tywin Lannister." Elena said and looked Robb in the eyes as he looked back at her.

"I will not kill only him, I will kill every last Lannister left on this earth." Robb growled. His grief had taken over his mind. Elena didn't say anything back. She turned to look at Talisa's grave. She knew she needed to wait till Robb moved on.

"Your grace, my lady." Gillian was out of breath when he arrived. He had been running. "there's news about your sister, Arya."

Robb immediatelly stood up at the mention of his sister. Both Elena and Gillian were surprised at this sudden action.

"What is it?!" Robb took a hold of Gillian shoulder, urging him to tell it quickly. Robb's eyes were widened, he was scared the news Gillian had was bad. He couldn't lose another family member, not now.

"She's here your grace, alive and well."
