"Madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push." -the Joker, the Dark knight

"Elena?" Robb softly groaned, still sleepy. He had just woken up, his eyes still heavy and his mind still cloudy. When he felt the cold spot beside him though, his eyes snapped wide open.

"Elena!" He yelled, sat up in the bed and searched the tent. He noticed the absence of her bow and arrow, together with her cloak and Gillian's dagger.

"Son of a..." Robb groaned and got up furiously, dressing as fast as he could. He grasped his sword and stormed out of the tent, looking for any sign of his guardian.

Everything was normal in the early morning, everyone was reading for the journey ahead. Soldiers were packing their tents and supplies, women preparing the meals for everyone.

"Steven!" Robb yelled when he saw Steven standing in the midst of the Northern camp. He was dressed in his casual clothing, blue shirt and brown leather pants with light silver armour on.

"Your grace?" Steven frowned when Robb walked towards him furiously. He took some steps back but he was too late. Robb grasped for his neck and helt him up, Steven's feet dangling in the air.

"Where is she?" Robb growled while still holding Steven's neck. He glared at the guardian, knowing that he had to know what happened.

"I don't know." Steven gasped for air, grasping the arm that was holding him instead of reaching for his sword that was hanging on his belt.

"Don't lie to me!" People started to gather around them, watching as their king was practically choking one of the guardians.

"She talked to Louis in the evening." Steve gasped for air. He had heard them talk mentally for that was one of his powers. "They left together."

"She's probably long gone by now." Steven choked, grasping Robb's arm. Yet he didn't try to stop him. "We can't do anything anymore."

Robb let out a furious shout, dropping Steven onto the floor. He ran his hand through his hair in frustration, the fear filling him. Elena was probably in Winterfell, who knew what had happened already.

"And you didn't feel the need to tell me about it?!" Robb glared down at Steven, his hands balled into fists.

"It wouldn't have made any difference." Steven got on his knees, his hands softly rubbing the aching spot on his neck. He looked up at Robb hopelessly, a single stroke of blond hair hanging before his blue eyes. "You know she would've gone no matter what."

Robb took in a deep breath, trying to hold in his anger. He knew that this was what made him vulnerable to the Dark One, especially when everybody was looking.

"Stevie?" Ella ran through the crowd, a stray dog following her. Her light blond hair was in two braids and she had a light pink dress on. She crouched down next to Steve who was still catching his breath.

"It's okay sweetie." Steve sighed and picked her up, holding her tightly against him to make sure she wouldn't fall. He then turned towards Robb, not even mad about what happened earlier. "So what do we do now?"

Robb clenched his jaw, knowing he had no power over Elena's life anymore. But he could get to her as fast as possible.

"We march towards Winterfell, just as planned."

"Here it is." Elena said when they arrived at the door of the secret passage. It was already midnight, they had been flying the whole night and day.

The door was buried under a few rocks, hidden from sight. Only if you knew where to find it you'd be able to see it. It had been almost impossible for the two guardians to find it, the only source of light came from the stars and the moon. Elena tore the plants off of the door and reached for the doorknob.

"Go on then, let's get this party started." Louis smirked and folded his wings behind his back, getting ready to sprint into the castle.

"Wait." Elena sighed, letting go of the doorknob. "We need to think this through."

"It's not that hard, love." Louis frowned at her. "Just shoot all the guards on the walls and we will meet each other on the eastern tower."

"Are you sure?" Elena looked at him, the nerves making her nauseous. It was weird being back in Winterfell now that it was not theirs anymore.

"Do I look like someone who isn't?" Louis smirked and got ready again, his back arched slightly.

"All right then." Elena sighed and opened the door. She felt a gush of wind and then Louis was gone, sprinting inside the castle with the speed of sound.

Elena followed him, running through the seemingly endless tunnel until she arrived in a house. It was still abandoned, the fire from a year ago must've destroyed it.

Elena took her bow in her hands and nocked an arrow, ready to shoot within a second. She opened the door of the house and realized she was near the  tower. It was a perfect place to see everything, especially when you're trying to shoot some people.

She climbed on the wall and reached the top, already aiming for her target on the wall right of her.

"How you doing?" Louis leaned against the edge of the tower, smirking at Elena when she let out a soft yelp in surprise.

"You scared me!" She loudly whispered and tried to ease her heartbeat. "Where's Sansa?"

"I couldn't get to her. You see, I need your help." Louis pouted and motioned for her to follow him. "I've never been here before. Since this was practically your home for 4 years, I'd assume you know where Sansa's chamber is."

"You could've just asked nicely without scaring me to death." Elena mumbled and followed him, her heartbeat still pumping faster than normal. She heard Louis chuckle softly while walking on the eastern wall of the big castle.

"Did you kill all the guards on the walls?" Elena frowned when she noticed the absence of men guarding them.

"Nope." Louis curtly answered. He suddenly dashed away again, leaving only a trail of wind.

"Then where are they?" Elena mumbled to herself, frowning and looking at the abandoned castle. There was literally no one to be seen. Elena's eyes widened when she realized that couldn't be a coincidence, Roose Bolton would never leave the castle unprotected.

"Louis?! It's a trap!" Elena yelled and ran after him even though he was much faster than her.

"Louis?" Elena yelled again, frightened when she didn't see him. Her feet carried her over the stone wall, she knew she was very slow compared to Louis but she had to try and get to him.

"Aah!!" Elena's head shot up when she heard him yell a few moments after, she immediately sprinted towards where he'd gone, grasping her arrow and bow again.

"Louis?!" Elena walked around a corner on the wall, her arrow drawn and ready to be shot.

"Louis!" She saw him lying on the ground, his foot caught in some kind of trap.

"Oh, no..." Elena's eyes widened when she crouched down next to him, seeing how the metal of the trap had torn his flesh on his left leg and crushed his bone. She tried to open the bear trap but it was too heavy.

She sighed when she realized that maybe Steve actually could've been useful tonight. Elena instantly blamed herself for not being able to open the trap, especially after she had told Steven he wasn't very useful for a mission like this. He could've opened the trap easily.

"We have to cut it off." Elena looked up at Louis, seeing his face contorted in pain. He shook his head wildly, grasping his leg tightly.

"Guards!!" One of the Bolton's men yelled, Elena and Louis heard their footsteps coming closer each second after.

"Listen, Louis, it won't be able to heal, we have to cut it of!" Elena softly whispered. His leg was unsaveable, it was already nearly amputated.

"No, not my leg." Louis bit on his lip, the pain consuming his body. His speed was everything he had, if he lost his foot he'd lose that too.

"There they are!" The guards ran towards them on the wall, unsheathing their swords simultaneously. Elena shot all 4 of them quickly.

"There are going to be more Louis, we can't stay here!" Elena laid her bow back down on the ground, already grasping Gillian's dagger.

Louis suddenly grasped Elena's arm, stopping her from grasping the dagger when they heard more shouts coming their way. His eyes bore into hers when he mustered out the words.

"Leave me here."

"So what's it going to be?" The dark One got back up from the ground, looking at his wounded brother beneath him.

"Give me one good reason why I should join you." Damon looked back up at his twin, his eyes slightly narrowed.

"Why not?" The Dark One smirked. "Isn't that what you always wanted, power, glory. We can achieve them together."

"Not anymore." Damon's voice dropped, his tone low and deep.

"Our dear Evelyn changed you for good, didn't she?" The Dark One chuckled. "Elena wasn't reason enough for you to stop your stupid crusade but somehow Evelyn was."

"You don't have the right to speak about her." Damon growled, even though he was wounded and chained The Dark One was actually slightly scared off him.

"I have every right, you know how much I loved her!" The Dark one lashed out, the fury building up in his head. He knelt down before Damon again and spit out the words. "Yet she failed to see I was better for her than you."

Damon glared at his brother for a few moments, holding in his curses and offends. "And if I choose to refuse your offer?"

"You will die." The Dark One spoke slowly as he took the dagger in his hands which he used to kill Evelyn.

"That's more a release than a punishment for me, you know that." Damon smiled angrily and pulled on the chains that bound him to the ground to get closer to his brother. "Give. me. a. reason."

"Elena." The Dark One smiled evilly, twitching the dagger around his fingers.

"You wouldn't hurt her." Damon narrowed his eyes, his heart making a tiny jump when he said her name.

"Why not?"

"Because she's your sister!" Damon yelled angrily.

"That's supposed to mean something to me?" The dark One chuckled and raised his eyebrows at him.

"Even though you say my Ethan is gone, I know he is somewhere deep inside you, trying to get out! He would never lay a finger on his little sister."

"Ethan and I are one." The Dark One smirked. "He's not gone, he only turned into something else."

"Still, I know you wouldn't hurt her." Damon sat back, raising his eyebrows.

"I would, as I would hurt her king, friends, maybe even Steven." The Dark One threatened. "Even better;"

He paused and his smirk grew wider, his eyes boring into Damon's when he spoke loud and clear. "Abigail."

"You bastard!" Damon launched at him, his fingers clawing at his brother's face. But he couldn't reach him.

"How dare you bring her up!" Damon yelled. He was practically seething as he continued to pull on his chains even though it hurt him like hell.

"Because she's a good reason for you to join me." The Dark one shrugged, slightly shocked by Damon's outburst.

"She's dead you bastard!" Damon yelled with tears in his eyes. "You killed her, you fucking killed her!"

The Dark One smirked and sat down on a rock on the opposite of Damon, satisfied with the result when he watched his brother pull on his chains.

"Did I?" He smiled and took a bite of his apple.

~

"No, no Louis, I will not leave you here." Elena declined and looked at Louis.

"You have to." Louis bit on his lip to try and ease the pain, a single tear rolling down his cheek. He looked to the side and saw more guards running their way.

"Tell Steven that I-" louis's eyes widened when Elena suddenly drove her knife through his leg, cutting of the part that was trapped.

"I'm sorry." Elena apologized when Louis screamed loudly, grasping his leg. She tore of a piece of her dress, using it to bind Louis' leg to make sure he didn't lose too much blood.

"Just leave me here!" Louis yelled between his whimpers, trying to push Elena off of him. She picked him up, held him against her chest as she unwrapped her wings quickly.

"Stop right there!" One of the Boltons said, his sword pointed at Louis and Elena.

"Hang on." Elena whispered to Louis and swung her wings, causing them to fly up quickly.

"It's going to be all right." Elena said when they flew over the castle, back towards the camp. She held his squirming and yelling body tightly as she felt the blood wettening her dress.

"Ella will be able to fix this, we just need to-" Elena let out a yell in surprise and pain when an arrow hit her right in her back, between her wings.  her wings froze, unable to move.

They tumbled down and soon enough they hit the surface, rolling over the ground till they hit a wall. Elena groaned when it caused the arrow to go deeper in her skin, the pain blinding her vision

Louis softly groaned, his consciousness already fading as the blood seeped out of his leg. Due to the impact of the fall he'd also broken a few of his ribs, making him unable to move.

"Louis?" Elena's voice trembled and was weak when she tried to lift her head out of the mud. She knew they were basically fucked, they had crashed in the middle of the courtyard. Her wings were damaged and broken.

A few soldiers were already walking towards them when Elena tried to crawl her way towards the unconscious Louis a few meters away from her.

A pair of boots blocked her way, standing still before Elena's weak body that was laying in the mud. The man took the arrow out of her back without saying a word, causing her to let out a yelp in pain.

The man knelt down before her body, Elena only saw his knees leaning on the ground. She slowly managed to look up and found a pale man with black hair and blue eyes. He had a smug grin plastered on his face when he madly looked at her.

"What do we have here?" Ramsay Snow grinned.
