A slight chance

How desperate are you, you call on such lost creatures to defend you. -Loki, Avengers

Elena had been flying for god knows how long, her wings were trembling with each swing they made. Her breath came out in short, raspy puffs. That all didn't matter for her though, no, she was determined to deliver that letter.

After a while she finally saw the Red Keep arising in the distance. Elena would've probably never admitted it, but she did sigh in relief when she arrived. The salty air filled her nose while she looked at the sea. King's Landing was truly beautiful, pity that there were so many despicable people living in it.

She clutched onto the letter Robb had given her. She felt this wave of rage just thinking about him. Elena would make Tywin, Roose Bolton and all those other traitors pay for what they had done, even if it was the last thing she would ever do.

Elena, being the rebellious woman that she is, wanted to make an entrance no one would ever forget. She landed right in front of the doors of the throne room, the area where she landed was immediately covered with a layer of ice which continued to expand around her. Many people scurried away and yelled when they saw her coming. They didn't know what was happening, they had never seen something like her before.

They knew she was their enemy since the wolf of Winterfell was visible on her harness, which had been made especially for her. Elena wore a deep blue shirt under it. She had a belt around her waist, holding it al together with two swords hanging from it. Above all that she had a cape, its hood hiding her face from everyone's sight.

Elena looked at all the citizens around her, thinking about how miserable their lifes must be under the rule of the Lannisters. Though many of those people were scared off her, the guards did move towards her, ready to attack.

Without a second thought Elena opened both doors of the great hall and walked into the throne room. She saw Tommen, the new king, sitting on the Iron Throne. He didn't look very mighty, being a child and all. He didn't look cruel or any of these things his brother was, no, Tommen looked innocent, sweet and righteous. Next to him stood his grandfather Tywin.

Elena had to hold herself in, she knew she couldn't kill Tywin right there and then. She first had to try and make them accept Robb's peace terms and end the war. Nevertheless this rage welled up inside her at the mere sight of Tywin. He had arranged the whole act at the Twins, that much she knew.

Numerous gasps filled the throne room as Elena walked towards Tommen without looking away from him. The other people in the hall scooted away from her and her huge wings, scared of her.

"Stop." One of the kingsguard spoke up with a trembling voice when Elena was halfway through the hall. The other kingsguards raised their swords at her, all of them also trembling. They had never seen a guardian before, but they knew she was one. They where afraid because they did not know what powers she had. Elena smiled even though no one could see it.

"What have you come to do here?" Tommen asked in confusion, the hood Elena wore hid the Stark's sigil from their sight.

Elena looked up at the little king sitting on the Iron Throne. It was actually quite a funny sight. "End the war."

"You know, pacing won't help anything." Gillian sighed while leaning against a closet. Robb was pacing in front of him, mumbles falling off his lips every now and then.

"She should've been back by now." Robb murmured. It had been three days since Elena had left. Robb had barely slept in those days, all he could think about was Elena. Every time he closed his eyes he saw Tywin murdering Elena in the most horrible ways possible.

Sometimes Robb would wonder if Elena was searching for them. The Northern army had moved North, they were preparing the attack against Dreadfort where Roose Bolton was situated. They were hidden in the forest just a few miles south of the castle, hiding in the shadow of the trees.

"Pacing won't help." Gillian rolled his eyes and waved his hand through his long hair.

"Standing there also won't." Robb hissed and turned to look at Gillian. "We should march for Kings Landing."

"Yeah sure, why don't we kill ourselves right now while you're at it."

"I can't just wait here until she comes back, if she ever comes back." Robb half yelled and pointed at the floor. His heart was thumping wildly and his hands were shaking violently.

"She wouldn't want you to risk your life for hers, you're supposed to know that by now." Gillian reasoned and then continued in a hushed voice. "Sometimes I wonder if you ever even cared for her."

"Of course I do!" Robb yelled so hard that the guard outside the tent looked inside to see if everything was alright. He immediatelly composed himself again, standing straight and taking in a deep breath.

"Sure. That's why you forgot about her within a few months." Gillian shrugged his shoulders, not even a bit phrased by Robb's outburst.

"You watch your tongue." Robb hissed as he pointed at Gillian.

"Or what? You're going to kill me? In case you've forgotten, you need me." Gillian walked towards Robb and spat in his face. His hatred for Robb had truly grown after his father's death, not to mention the hurt Robb had caused Elena.

"Sometimes it still amazes me how much you and Elena are alike." Robb chuckled as he was glaring at Gillian.

"I on the other hand, still can't figure out why she ever fell for you, let alone let you in her bed." Gillian growled back, stepping closer toward Robb, provoking him. Gillian was taller but less muscled than Robb, if it came to a fight, Gillian had no idea who would have the biggest chance of winning.

A crash from outside startled the arguing men, both of them instantly bowed down to the ground, thinking it was a explosion and that they had to take cover. Nevertheless nothing happened to them, they both got up and glanced at each other.

"What in the seven hells was that?" Gillian exclaimed.

"Your grace, I think you might want to see this." One of the soldiers came running into the tent with dirt covering his face and armor.

Robb and Gillian instantly left the tent in a hurry, looking what had caused the crash. They saw a long trace of dirt that had been moved, the first thing Robb thought of was that something had come crashing down. At the end of the trace they saw her, her wings covered with blood, laying on the cold floor.

"Elena?!" Robb and Gillian said simultaneously and ran to her side.

"Hello there." Elena smiled even though she was in pain.

"Are you alright?" Robb asked as he lifted her up till she was sitting with a hand on the small of her back.

"My wings got damaged by the arrows, don't think I'm going to fly for a few days." Elena sighed and closed her eyes in pain when she moved her long wings.

"What happened?" Gillian asked.

"They read the peace offer, Tommen first but he asked his grandfather advise. Basically Tywin made the decision, that son of a bitch." Elena groaned in pain and wrapped her arms around herself.

"Get a healer, now." Robb commanded Gillian, who first glared at him for giving him commands but then sped off anyway. "What happened next?"

"Obviously Tywin declined the offer. Said that we didn't have the slightest chance of winning this war, said that he didn't even believe that you were alive and made Tommen believe I wasn't even that dangerous, that he shouldn't be afraid of me." Elena chuckled and looked up at Robb's blue eyes as he was holding her. "I kind of demonstrated why he should be."

"That's my girl." Robb chuckled and pulled Elena closer against his chest.

"Did you see Sansa?"

"No, I only heard rumors. After I had beaten down some kingsguard in the Throne room I fled downtown, they lost track of me after a day. Spend a night in some alley, luckily nobody bothered me. I asked some drunken soldier what had happened with her the other day. He told me she had escaped after she had poisoned Joffrey, said she wasn't seen by anyone after that."

Elena furrowed and looked back up at Robb. "Did you know Sansa was married to Tyrion?"

"What?!" Robb's body began to shake in anger, had that Lannister imp touched his sister?!

"That's what they told me. They said that the both of them had arranged to kill Joffrey. Now Tyrion's on trial apparently, don't think he's going to survive."

Robb just simply nodded in thought and remained silent for a while, worrying about his sister. "I was concerned about you." He said as he stroked Elena's hair behind her ear. He leaned in, he didn't know what the hell he was doing. He just felt so relieved to see her alive and well that he forgot all of his problems and focused only on Elena.

"The way you were concerned when you left me buried alive in Winterfell?" Elena diverted her eyes and looked at the ground, fiddling with her fingers. Robb quickly backed away again, shaken from his trance.

"Will you ever forgive me for that?" Robb sighed and sat down next to Elena. He almost lost hope that she would, it seemed as if she hated him.

"Maybe. I'm just trying to cope with everything that's happened when I was asleep. Maybe after that I will find the will to forgive you." Elena sadly smiled and looked back up at Robb. "So, what's our status? Any news?"

"Well since they didn't accept the peace offer, we'll have to do everything ourselves. First we're going to take down Dreadfort with Bolton with it, then we go back South, maybe send some men up North to protect the wall. I meant to make a plan for the siege of Dreadfort but I didn't really have the... time." Robb chuckled and looked at the wounds Elena had gotten. The blood had already dried, one wing was obviously damaged.

"Time? I think you just couldn't because you were pacing like an idiot the whole time." Gillian chuckled when he came back with some clothes and water.

"Pacing?" Elena raised her brows.

"Our "king" was pacing like a mad dog. He even almost commanded us to march to King's Landing and take you back." Gillian laughed, obviously still angry, while he took the cloth and dipped it in the water. "Though I would've loved to see him fall, I didn't want to die trying to hopelessly sack a city."

"Gillian! He's your king." Elena laughed and elbowed him, making him squirm. Robb just sighed and looked at the camp.

"But seriously Elena, he looked like a lost puppy. You better not leave again because I cannot handle him being that lost child that lost his favorite toy again." Gillian chuckled again, the anger showing through his playful facade and cleaned Elena's wounds on her arm.

"That child can hear everything you're saying right now." Robb sighed.

"Luckily I don't care." Gillian growled.

"Guys! What's the matter with you?!" Elena exclaimed and looked at the men either side of her. "He's your king Gillian, and Robb, he's your bannerman and most likely our only hope. Stop acting like children!"

Robb and Gillian looked at each other, both thinking the other would apologize first. Elena looked between the both of them, her eyes almost blazing fire.

"I'm going to get some bandage." Gillian mumbled after a large moment of silence and stood up, walking back towards the tents.

"He's my best friend, I can't have you two fighting each other the whole time." Elena looked right in Robb's blue eyes, secretly enjoying the way his dark brown curls shone in the late sun.

"I know." Robb took both Elena's hands in his and looked at her. He had always loved the greenish color of her eyes, it reminded him of The Godswood of Winterfell, the way it looked in summer. "And I can't have you leaving again."

"I can take care of myself." Elena sat up straight, forgetting all the pain she suffered, the only things she felt was Robb's large warm hands covering hers.

"That's what you said before you were almost raped and killed by wildlings. Sorry if I don't believe that anymore." Robb chuckled.

"Luckily you came back." Elena smiled up at him, it was weird but she felt like she had forgiven him for all he had done and fell in love with him all over again.

"Luckily you did too."
